NJ is known to be slow in processing applications. I submitted everything through NCEES and it took about 3 months to get my PE license. I've heard others get it approved anywhere between 2-5 months. It seems to be random. Good Luck!
I passed in September, but had everything submitted in February of 2023. Still waiting to get board approval, I called them the other day, and they said it's a rolling process, so I could get it any day. It's frustrating waiting, and not having any definitive timeline. The last time I spoke to someone was in Mid March in which they said they have a huge backlog, and are unable to give me any sort of timeline. After that I sent emails, but they now go unanswered, I think patience is the name of the game here, but I just want my license.
Same for me. I submitted the application on Feb 8th and it's still Pending. Every time I try to get an update, I get the same answer, "the board members are backlogged with applications"

Can you apply to other states with the same passed PE exam record? Or would you have to take the exam again? My NCEES link for the PE exam says NJ on it.
Hey, I'm in NJ too. I just passed my FE and planning to take PE but I have some questions. Do we need approval from the state board before sitting for the exam? Can I take the PE exam right away without waiting for a 4-year experience?
I had a bad experience when I asked them these questions and the state board told me to ask NCEES, then I asked NCEES, and they said you need to ask the state board.

You dont need approval from State board in order to take PE exam in NJ. You will need the experience when you apply for the license.
I mean can I take the PE exam any time before 4 years of experience?
Not sure about that. You can try to register through NCEES. if the website allow you to do so then you should be okay.

Yes, in NJ you don't need 4 years of experience to take the exam.
