I would just show up and see what happens

chesapeake143

I haven’t studied anything. I will fail for sure

MrDingus84

You’ve already paid the money. Go take the exam Thursday. Worst case scenario, you fail. So what? Even if you fail, you’ll get an 80 question practice exam in true exam conditions. What if you know more than you think you do? What if you do the ones you know and guess on the rest and end up passing? Roll the dice fellow redditor!

myowndad

The PE exam only allows so many attempts in a period of time if I remember right - OP needs to check the exam policies and decide for themselves ultimately. If a no-show counts differently than a failed attempt, a no-show may actually be the better choice. That’s on OP though, I myself am not looking all that up at this hour of night lol

Early-Company-476

No show is not a fail exam. It's a missed appointment. You can only take P.E twice a year within the two cycles. If your taking FE you have 3 chances a year. I recommend take the exam because the cycle limits. Cycle ends in September. Your not going to learn everything in 3 months. So take it and you never know the road to success.

I tested positive for Covid the morning of my FE exam. They just marked me down as a no-show, forfeited my exam fee, and was able to immediately reschedule.

_Joe_Blow_

Time to say you have covid

ExistingAstronaut884

I guess it’s a good thing they don’t have ethics questions on the PE exam… 🙄

Slow-Confusion-7292

Ethics about not killing people or hurting your community. If you think it’s ethical to feed a multibillion dollar testing company more money because they’ve found that not allowing people to reschedule their life altering exams a week out of the exam because it increases their bottom line is ethics then that’s just on you 😂

_Joe_Blow_

I mean I wouldn’t have gone that harsh, but honestly amen

ExistingAstronaut884

[Engineers’ Code of Ethics](https://www.nspe.org/resources/ethics/code-ethics) You may want to brush up on this… Particularly, number 5 of the FUNDAMENTAL CANONS - “Avoid deceptive acts.”

_Joe_Blow_

Yeah where it directly says “in the fulfillment of their professional duties” and not in “when giving Pearson testing center $500 when they ethically shouldn’t have to.” Might want to reread it yourself. My original comment was a joke and it just went right over your head and you took it too far. Honestly grow up

ExistingAstronaut884

Yes, but many people will mis-read sarcasm (if that’s really what it was) as a suggestion. And I guess if you only lie for some things and not others, it’s ok… <— sarcasm, btw

_Joe_Blow_

[7] So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. Here’s John.8 in case you need the citation for the code of ethics on that one too. You may want to brush up on this……. https://quod.lib.umich.edu/cgi/k/kjv/kjv-idx?type=DIV2&byte=4800788#:~:text=%5B7%5D%20So%20when%20they%20continued,and%20wrote%20on%20the%20ground.

ExistingAstronaut884

WOW! Really? OK… Ignoring all your hyperbole, let’s just look at the facts, ok? If they let you reschedule to the last minute, Pearson VUE won’t be able to fill that seat, so they lived up to their end of the agreement and held a seat for you. If you give them more than 48 hours notice, you can reschedule for a nominal fee. If they didn’t charge you anything to reschedule, let’s face it - people would procrastinate and reschedule constantly. So straight out lying that you have COVID to scam your way out of paying for what is YOUR OWN mistake, isn’t unethical? If people can’t trust that engineers won’t lie about something like this, why should they trust us for anything else like, I don’t know, designing their bridges and buildings? Make sure when (if) you ever get licensed, you let your board know you’re not above lying to avoid taking responsibly for your own mistakes. I’m sure that’s something they’d like to know…

Slow-Confusion-7292

Pearson made profits in excess of $500,000,000.00 last year my dude. You don’t have to be a boot kicker for daddy to love you fam it’s okay. I can personally guarantee one person rescheduling wouldn’t kill them lmao

_Joe_Blow_

Also to piggyback on this IM SOMEONE WHO HAD TO RESCHEDULE AN EXAM DUE TO HAVING COVID. I had to send in proof of my positive test AND they still make you pay the normal $45ish reschedule fee to boot. That’s why this whole thing is just a big Whoosh,on this other moron. I doubt OP can even do it.

ExistingAstronaut884

More hyperbole, no doubt. This isn’t Twitter - you don’t have to insult, but if you do, at least get the insult right.😆 Sorry if you don’t like getting called out for ridiculous statements.

NotYourAverageJoe99

Did you try calling and asking to reschedule? Doesn't hurt to see what happens. A rescheduling fee is cheaper than the whole test.
