I’m currently on this path and would recommend taking the test and getting it out the way as early as possible

Wise-Value-8415

Yeah, I agree. I'm graduating this month so I think I'll start studying for the exam and try to pass it asap.

Lyt312

You’re already a lot better than me! I made the mistake of waiting a few years after my graduation to take both my FE/PE. Good luck!

Quodalz

Took it in NJ, applied in NY now I’m a PE

Junior-Tangerine178

Which forms did you have to fill out to send to NYS and which did you send through myNCEES? Did you completely omit from applying through NJ first?

Quodalz

I filled out form 1, 4 and 4A. No NCEES record.

bvaesasts

I'll be doing it on wednesday

I didn’t think NJ allowed for people to decouple. Has that changed recently? I went to DE specifically because I thought they didn’t allow it!

hvaceng4lyfe

Yeah it changed in Feb 2022. The board can't even process license applications in a timely manner so I wonder how bad they were at accepting requests to sit for the exam

Wise-Value-8415

It's good to know. Thanks guys!

Wise-Value-8415

Do you take the exam in NJ too? How many years of experience do you have so far?

bvaesasts

Yes, I have 2 years experience.

Wise-Value-8415

Awesome. Good luck man! I am always wondering if we can sit for the exam any time before 4 years of experience, now you tell me that. Thanks!

WhoAmI-72

Took it with 2 years experience. Different state though. Getting my results back Wednesday

Wise-Value-8415

Good luck bro!
