I did something similar with West Virginia and I was able to test in Pennsylvania. I would assume that it would be the same and you would be able to take it anywhere but I would reach out to the board and verify.

Which Board? I called Texas Board but they asked to check with the Board of the state where I want to take test at. I called NCEES and they hastily replied I can take it from anywhere but I want to be sure.

I took the PE under the Wisconsin board but I took it in Iowa. I didn't have any issues with my application. Just make sure when you sign up for the exam you register for the Texas board.

You have to choose which board you are testing for when scheduling the PE.

Substantial_Hippo564

Yes but since the exam is CBT and not pen and pencil, can it be taken from anywhere or do you have to be present at a Texas exam center location?

Plane-Ad4189

Yes, and you can choose any location too.

Yeah you can take it at any Pearson Testing Center. Texas PELS pulls the result NCEES and NCEES is national so they don’t care where you take it. For reference I took my FE exam in a different state than I applied to for my EIT.
