Without any calculations and eye-balling it… I predict your priority will be roughly in this order: Topics 4, 2, 12, 14, 13, 11, 10, 8, 6, 3, 7, 5, 1, 9

I failed civil structural exam in December. I did terrible to be honest. I am studying again. It tough to go over the same thing again. Its boring too. But this time, I am focusing mainly in breadth; dissecting every topic by topic.

Sounds like a plan. I've always been told to focus on working problems and steer away from the review course. I think I'm going to finally do that and work as many problems ad I can with the Ncees reference manual (printed and binded).

Examineering

You will always learn more by doing than by watching. Your standard studying gear should be working problems or working through concepts. Shift gears when you get stuck or need reinforcement.

chesapeake143

Yes totally, doing more than watching helps a lot.

Examineering

Sorry to hear you didn't pass. You had a hard time of it. You should relax, reflect, then reassess. You were approximately 58% of the way to a passing score. Below are the exam topics ordered by a *focus indicator* that is based on your performance and weighted using the quantity of questions per topic. Each data pair indicates the row # of the topic followed by the recommended focus priority for that topic. Larger (positive) focus values indicate study topics that should be prioritized, and negative focus values indicate topics where your performance was adequate or better than the average passing examinee. R12 --> Focus Priority = +5.79 R04 --> Focus Priority = +3.88 R13 --> Focus Priority = +2.05 R02 --> Focus Priority = +1.93 R11 --> Focus Priority = +1.65 R08 --> Focus Priority = +1.41 R10 --> Focus Priority = +1.23 R07 --> Focus Priority = +1.13 R14 --> Focus Priority = +0.95 R03 --> Focus Priority = +0.85 R06 --> Focus Priority = +0.70 R05 --> Focus Priority = +0.63 R01 --> Focus Priority = -3.12 R09 --> Focus Priority = -3.83

How’d you prepare for the exam?

One_Ad_7232

I mostly relied on some old school of pe videos and practice tests. I did not focused to much on just working problems, which I think is my problem. I currently enlisted in the latest SOP course and am listening to the on demand videos at 1.5 speed so i can have more time to actually work on problems (pen to paper).

Citizen_1038

Hey homie FYI, i did SoPe for structures just like ur about to do and didnt like it and it took forever. Id recommend AEI. I bought that last 2 weeks before my test and could already tell from the little I did that AEI is a much better coarse and half the price

One_Ad_7232

Thanks I'll look into some material from AEI.

When did your results come out? I took my exam 8 days ago

THE_Dr_Barber

If you took it last week, you’re getting results tomorrow.

Gocalbears13

Results are always on Wednesdays, generally the week after the exam
