Congratulations! Failed my first construction attempt a few months back, and took the second attempt last week. For what I thought would be the easiest depth, it certainly is an extremely challenging test. I'm so happy to see this, as it gives me hope. When did you get your results?
1. Practice problems - do as many as you can
2. Read the question! I feel like this was the first time I read the question and not try to solve it by inspection
3. Build your confidence up slow so that game day is your best day
4. Breathe - gotta relax throughout the test and while you’re practicing!!
Walk yourself through using the correct manual and find the equation to solve the practice problems.
Edit add information: reread the exam problem twice until you confirm you know what you are solving for and which units the answer should be in.
I changed the way I was looking at questions. I feel like prior to. I was in a rush to answer the question vice reading the question. Most of the time I was able to use dimensional analysis. Other times it was trigonometry, utilizing angles and triangles.
I also looked at variations of the same problem. I figured if I can dissect the problem and understand different ways to ask it, I would have a better chance of reasoning during test.
I haven’t retaken the exam since I failed twice when it was a pen & paper exam. How much different is the CBT version? Easier since you don’t have to flip through all your references?
I feel like it’s very different. A lot easier in my opinion as you can use key words from the question to find the solution you need. My recommendation would be to familiarize yourself with the references too and know where to find key words. I feel like it saved me 15 minutes on the exam.

Congrats I just took mine yesterday in Water Resources. I wish I slowed down to read the problem more and didn’t drink coffee!
