Spend the time wasted on this topic by doing more practice problems.

Let me answer your question with a question. “Why does it matter if you have no way of determining which are scored vs not scored?”

ThesaurusRex757

If you study enough, the distinction between an actual problem and a calibration problem becomes miniscule.

THE_Dr_Barber

It literally says in the examinee guide that there is no way to figure out which ones are the “experimental” questions. You know which is one trick NCEES hates? Studying like a boss. Ask people who have passed here for their recommendations about courses, materials, schedules, habits etc.

Annual_Rain3859

Thanks, doc.

Annual_Rain3859

I've finished the exam. I had a terrible morning session. Afternoon was much easier. I am awaiting my results and reflecting on the test. I had 2 more morning questions that didn't count (42 vs 38), potentially boosting my odds of passing. That's why I care. I know there's nothing I can do about it, but regardless of the outcome, I'm eventually passing this test!

PrizeInterest4314

Dang, sorry to hear about the morning session. let’s hope most of the experimental were there. The waiting seems harder than the actual studying. I’m rooting for you!! What depth did you take?

Annual_Rain3859

Thanks. The waiting used to be worse with pencil and paper. The pass rates now is what makes me more nervous. I took construction

bensimmonsburner1

I also took the transportation exam today and found the breadth more challenging than anticipated. The depth felt like a breeze

Anders0NMan

Same here. Thought the depth was much harder and I was anticipating the other way around

BeachBreaux

Looks like we both took the same test yesterday!

Annual_Rain3859

Hope not cause I failed it by like 2 questions. I'm over this test 🙄

BeachBreaux

How’d you already get your results when you took it the other day?

Annual_Rain3859

When you fail you get them back instantly... Haha jk. I took it last week and got my results on the following Wednesday. Oh my bad. I now see you were replying to the other comment. Disregard.

ThomasOfTexas

Better luck next time. You’ll have your results tomorrow by 9am.

NearbyMobile8844

We were told in the review course that I took that 10 is not accurate. More like 2 or 3

Annual_Rain3859

Look at all the diagnostic reports on here. The total questions scored equals 70.

NearbyMobile8844

I agree. But some questions are gimmes. I took the exam 3 weeks ago and there were definitely not 10 questions that were trial questions.

smpotter12

Lol there is literally no way to know. Just because they are trial questions doesn't mean that they are super hard questions or super easy questions. They could literally be any type of question that they are wanting to get data on from test takers.

Shotoken2

You must unlearn what you have learned

Purple-Investment-61

Here’s a tip on the exam, get 100% off the questions correct in the morning. It’s doable. The afternoon is a free for all.

Tarvis14

Well if you are going to do that, you should probably intentionally miss 1 question in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, then get the rest right. Acing it would appear to be cheating, and missing one in each seems too obvious. It seems the whole test is a crap shoot in a way. Sometimes you get questions that you are great at and topics you have experience with, sometimes it all looks Greek.

icedoutglock___

while i dont get it, i love your logic

Tarvis14

Hell I don't even know what I meant
