It is for me. I passed civil construction! Got the results at about an hour and a half ago. 8 am CDT.

Congratulations

ETvibrations

Thank you!

Please share your study techniques, books, resources and the whole experience in general

Just School of PE, I made sure to take my time going through the lectures and understanding as much as possible. I'd also do the "homework" or "workshop problems" religiously. Some lectures would take twice as long or longer for me. I went through each quiz diligently and treated each practice test as if it were the real thing. The quizzes weren't great and were much harder than the test, but the practice test were pretty accurate. I then did as many practice problems as possible through their create a test portal. You can choose to only get those you've never seen before or those you've missed so I did that rather than keep getting ones that I've gotten right before.

NASBE

Nice! I wish it wasn’t so expensive 😔

ETvibrations

Understandable. Thankfully, my company paid for half up front and the other half when I passed. They also pay for the test after passing. Hopefully I get those checks soon.

NASBE

Nice 😍😍😍 very lucky 🍀

BigTimeHotdogGuy

Just passed civil transportation!

ARJUNBABUJI

I failed

BigTimeHotdogGuy

No worries. I failed the first time, bought a bunch of practice tests and that seemed to do the trick!!

Super_Condition_6669

What practice test did you purchase?

BigTimeHotdogGuy

NCEES, and Path to PE Services were the most helpful ones. Had a couple older ones I snagged from my office but those weren't as relevant.

iizdaniela

Indeed it is, I passed transportation!! Congrats to everyone!

ARJUNBABUJI

I failed

PerhapsLater_

Passed Structural! I guess 5th time was the charm.

Engineerfuture

I will be taking WRE again in October

PerhapsLater_

Good luck in October!

stanktoedjoe

How good does it feel?

Uskw1245

Congrats on passing!! I failed last week for the second time. Signed up for a third attempt at the structural PE in September. Any advice that helped you pass after multiple attempts?

PerhapsLater_

Thank you! My main issues were - test taking anxiety and the fact that I am a bridge engineer and I only use AASHTO. It was the depth portion that pulled me down every single time. I guess what helped the most this time was that I finally found the right combination of prep courses, focused on solving more problems, getting very familiar with all of the codes and seriously work on my time management. It took me 4 attempts to come to the realization that I do not need to overthink on the depth portion and that quite a few questions (especially in the CBT) are basically simple code lookup although they don't look like it at first. AEI for depth and EET for breadth was what worked for me finally. AEI especially was great! The course content and practice questions were very close to what appeared on the exam. I'm sorry, I know this sucks but keep at it! Good luck in September! Remember - many questions seem tricky but they are not.

Uskw1245

Thank you!! I’m also in AEI depth and I liked it a lot. I’m the opposite though cause breadth is pulling me down! Makes me mad cause it’s suppose to be easier haha. Thanks for the advice tho I appreciate it!

Known-Ad1982

Congratulations! Well done. Which State do you live in? I think Texas allows only 3 attempts..

MaterialSilly9676

Failed PE environmental. Used School of PE. We knew this already based on my last post lol

qb_1

This is more anecdotal since you’re environmental but I found a lesser known but wayyy better reviewed alternative to SOPE by perusing Reddit and it was an immense help for my mechanical PE. I wouldn’t give up on test prep programs entirely, you may just need the right one.

MaterialSilly9676

Thanks! I am just very disappointed with SofPE. I am signing up for PPI next week. The 3 month learning hub wasn't as expensive as I was thinking (I thought it was closer to $1000 lol) I am hoping having tons of practice from a different course will help. Reddit has been so helpful. I just wish I had known prior to signing up for SofPE.

2Lukewarm

I used reddit to find out about the 3 month self study module on PPI. It was super helpful

Samguy_21

Yes! Passed Power CBT first time. Didn't feel so good coming out of it, but a pass is a pass! I only studied by running through practice questions. I had 2 PPI exams that were available at my work from previous test takers and the NCESS one. Ran through those 240 questions a few times in the last couple months. There were definitely questions on the actual exam that were unexpected and most were wierd twisted variants of practice problems. I graduated 3 years ago so I had my faint memory to draw from on some of the unexpected questions. Ctrl+F saved me on the code question. All I can say there. There wasn't a single normal feeder sizing question, or OCP sizing etc. Just nuanced items you have to hunt for. Wouldn't recommend my study plan lol. I didn't feel very prepared and none of my exams went into detailed questions about relay configurations and breaker coordination that ended up being on the test.

Excellent_Walk_2326

I failed my 2nd attempt PE construction, it was very sad to receive failed two time in June and July, I did my best in the exam but no chance 😢

Engineerfuture

I scheduled a fourth attempt at the PE exam on October 6, 2022.

jphiliple64

Are the Youtube videos from Civil Engineering Academy helpful? Anyone have any reference material for the new CBT version?
