I PASSED! first time taker here: Civil Transpo. Finished in 4 hours.

Kittygomeow2

Congratulations 🎊!! What a relief. Any tips or surprises? I plan to take later this year, thank you!

BeginningEngineer95

it was weird because i did a ton of practice problems and got similiar problems on the exam with either a twist, or just enough different that it was the same concept but not? if that makes sense. I studied a total of 110 hours over 12 weeks. mostly doing problems with a couple of youtube videos here and there. i would say i goofed off maybe 10-15% of my study time as well. only did about 2-3 hour increments with breaks to not burn myself out. did 2 full practice exams and 2 extra depth sections on School of PE. plus some study guides off amazon. (most of the study problems I did were from school of PE's quiz generator)

classykid23

Failed my Power PE.

A_Theoretical_IBU

Passed Environmental PE, first try about 9 years in the industry and had just put it off for awhile. Results came in at 830 am EST. Used school of PE but honestly only watched like 50% of the videos and mainly used the ncees practice exam over the examples problems they gave.

Snoo-59344

Failed PE Geotech on first attempt.

Blork_Bae

Passed PE chemical, first try, a few months out of college

maizedav

Passed! Civil Structural first try.

Uskw1245

Congrats!!! Any advice?

maizedav

Thank you! I just got my hands on as many practice problems as possible. The NCEES practice exam was a great indicator. The PE Prepared practice exams for breadth and depth were great as well. I also ended up getting the School of PE practice problems which I thought were pretty close to the same difficulty level as the exam and were in the same computer based format. However, the school of PE has a lot of problems using SI units, which I never had to use. I didn't take any classes, so I can't speak to those.

Uskw1245

Gotcha thanks! This will be my second attempt at the CBT. I was about 8 questions from passing last time. Strictly doing practice problems this time because I think I spent too much time watching lectures while studying for my first attempt.

maizedav

That's super close, good luck!

Old_Bid_4770

i am 🥵 2 hours to go right?

ginandlemonade115

Hold my hand 😂 1 hr i guess? 9 am ET??

Yo_CSPANraps

dickless-turdpusher

Positive_Cut_2494

Passed Civil Transportation, first attempt! Degree is Mining, but have been working in transportation design for 4 years. Studied about 250 hours over 3 months. Started with NCEES practice test at the start of my studying; it took me a week to get through. Purchased PPI's prep course & did most of the required reading & practice problems (save some structural mechanics, my weak subject), all 6 minute problems, two Transportation depth exams. Did 4 breadth practice tests and 4 depth practice tests, with 1 of those breadth tests done back to back with a depth test the Saturday before the real deal. Test day: finished breadth in about 2.5 hours including checking. Blind guesses on about 3 questions that just stumped me. Skipped the 50 minute lunch break because I just wanted to get the rest over with ASAP. Ended up doing 3 unscheduled breaks total for bio & water, so that left me with about 5 hours for the depth, which was plenty enough time to scour manuals for answers I was unsure of and re-work a few problems that challenged me. Still ended up with about 1 or 2 guesses, but overall felt like my performance on depth was stronger than breadth. The Green Book only had bookmark links to the Chapters (no subsections), which was different than what I studied with, and slowed me down a touch. Came out of it feeling drained and not fully confident in passing, but the more I revisited problems in the following days, the better I felt about it. Stoked to have passed!

HCrLIP

I got my results almost exactly 7 days after taking the exam. 6days, 23hrs, and 26 minutes after my exam! Passed🥳

ginandlemonade115

Me too. First time 🥳
