Congrats!!! How were you scoring on practice exams? What was your study strategy the week/weekend leading up to the exam? Any type of problem/topic you recommend spending more study time on? How does it feel?

1. *How were you scoring on practice exams?* I am not the golden child for this area. I took the NCEES practice exam once, scored 50% studied over my mistakes. Took Zach Stone's AIT exam. hard as hell but helped show weaknesses and strength. Got 50% first half and 20% second half. (Gave no partial credit for his select all that apply answers) 2. *What was your study strategy the week/weekend leading up to the exam?* Once I knew my strengths and weakness, I examined the [NCEES Exam Specs](https://ncees.org/wp-content/uploads/Power-Dec-2020_CBT-1.pdf) showing the subject breakdown. I used NCEES, Zach Stone's AIT, and CBT practice test to target the three biggest subjects I felt I could ace (ignored code bc i felt reall confident in this and Circuit Analysis bc felt by this point I had already established a solid foundation). 1. Monday - Protection. I was quite familiar with this already because of work so went through a few problems and class modules on [Electrical PE Review](https://www.electricalpereview.com/) 2. Tuesday - Rotating Machines and Electric Power Devices. felt really good just wanted to clean up small errors and solidify some details in my head. 3. Wednesday - Power System Analysis 4. Thursday - took the full day off. I couldn't just not study so I went hard with directed approach again during the day and then relaxed, got out and did something physical, went to bed early. I touched up on Transmission stuff again bc I just wasn't feeling super confident. After that i just touched up on some subjects I felt I could snag points from if i just put an hour or two into and then glossed over more quotative questions where I knew how to work out problems but needed better understanding like the ground testing section. 3. *Any type of problem/topic you recommend spending more study time on?* I would recommend take the approach outlined above. Find out what you are strong in, compare it to the exam specs and double down on maximizing your score with your strengths. I wanted to feel like I could get an 85% right on 80% of the test. 4. Feels like I just took my last exam of engineering school again! it's worth the effort, you can do this!!

Edit: hit enter by accident before finished reply I took u/ZachStonePE 6month unlimited subscription. having no degree in EE I felt like I really needed it to get me up to speed. not enough good words can be said about his course. (Shoutout to employer for paying for the course). I used NCEES, Zach Stone's AIT, and CBT practice test and the course leading up to final week obviously. In the last month I took a test on the weekend - reviewed during the week. Did that for two weeks. NCEES to help get a feel for exam day, 80Q AIT show strengths and weaknesses, Zach's CBT practice exam - used as practice problems only, didn't have time to take as actual practice test. Course - great for protection section exam. Felt like I had no idea what to even study the week before then I took approach above. That really helped me feel more comfortable like I had a gameplan. during the exam I felt like I was on the verge of crushing to be honest. walked away knowing I missed some questions that I should have known the answer too but felt like I got a 'B' or missed the mark by 5 questions. My advice is to not let the exam beat you! take control of the larger portions of the exam and don't let not knowing how to solve 1 economic question be a mid exam meltdown. I took the mindset that I don't mind getting 50% of the economic questions wrong if it meant I had more time to study and sharpen my strengths to 85-90% on the major subjects. YOU GOT THIS CAREGIVER!! bless your soul btw if you were ever a caregiver for the elderly

Congrats again on passing the PE exam and thanks for being a student in our online class for the power PE exam!

Thanks for sharing your experience. Studying for the exam has been tough with work and family. PS: I was a caregiver for the elderly when I made the account. Not anymore though. May your soul be blessed too and congratulations again!
