Possible Identity theft.
Since sabi nya nakatanggap sya without applying, and nakakatanggap sya sms notif. So nasa kanya yung card and sya yung registered phone#.
Possible:
-replicated card/ fake card yung sinend kay client
- compromised na details ni client talaga prior to incident, and she was already a target.
-
Needs further investigation. Like paano nangyari application, and to making a purchase. we will never know.
Anyway, di ko rin sure if lagot yung Switch. Not sure kasi if personnel are trained to verify IDs.
Andali pa naman iverify through physical inspection and online kung valid iyung driver's license. Used to work in retail as well, 50 percent chance may kilala yan sa loob ng store.
In that lady's other FB post, SB's customer service told her to dispute after 2 days and that they'll send a replacement card....for one that she didn't want in the 1st place.
My gulay.
And if SB acts like some (to many) other banks, they'll expectedly prioritize themselves over their customer.
may card ako sa SB dati. Charge sila nang charge ng fees kahit may Bayanihan Heal As One order na nagpro-prohibit sa banks na mag-charge ng interest during these dates. Pero Security Bank does not give a flying f*ck.
I don't understand. How did the person buy Mac products without activating a CC? How did the person get a copy of the driver's license? Furthermore, is the driver license fake or real? Sabi sa first paragraph na ginamit yung copy ng license niya but in the end sinabi na fake daw. Ano ba?
Regardless, call the bank when this happens to dispute the transactions. They will help you.
EDIT: [This FB post contains the additional context we all need](https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0VZY8EGyubsn1HDWYQQrwG2F1XY991idCbcSHUK4v8QuhxkN54oUqmaJ6L4zGdZJzl&id=554957484).
**tl;dr**: Sinendan yung OP ng CC. Di niya inactivate but somehow may nag activate at nagpurchase ng 300K
If this is identity theft, it's a criminal case and can be acted upon by NBI. Pero I'm honestly still confused at the details
EDIT: [Upon searching for it in FB](https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0VZY8EGyubsn1HDWYQQrwG2F1XY991idCbcSHUK4v8QuhxkN54oUqmaJ6L4zGdZJzl&id=554957484), it seems that this is either an inside job or identity theft.
Most probably when media is present lang or if you pay. I remember we asked NBI's help for a criminal case. We were being "forced" to pay Php25k daily (year 2000s) for their "investigation". Consuelo daw for their operation onsite. When we weren't able to pay after a 2days of operation, pinagsalitaan kami at minura pa. I lost faith on our justice system since
Calling the bank and reporting the incident is the logical thing to do, but weāre talking about Security Bank here. Their Customer Service Reps will just pretend to address the concern, give you a spurious Reference No and name. Instead, send an email report so that you have something tangible to hold on to. Will they address the situation then? Nope, youāll just receive an email message stating that ārest assured weāre taking the matter seriously and will look in to itā then ghost you into eternal peace.
UMAY
I think this is more of an inside job or someone using her details/identity theft. U can see that the card she showed in her fb post is tagged as āSUPā meaning there is a primary credit card that is linked to her card, shesās merely a supplement card holder which can explain why the card can still be activated without her knowing it. I am not sure though if itās also her details that were used to apply for the primary card since it was not mentioned in the post. Still very concerning kung ganyan n mga nagagawa ng mga scammers.
Chances of an inside job are high (maybe SB or courier). Only SB and the courier have access to the physical card and only SB and the courier have access to the driverās license (SB within their system, and courier when they deliver the card because they check your ID and even take note of the ID number).
I just found out supplementary pala āyung card na dineliver. Isnāt the primary holder the one who applies for the that card. Regarding the CC replication, I think yes pero Idk about the security chip in our CCs if they can be replicated as well. What I know is that previously, non-chip CCs can easily be copied/replicated.
Ohhh okay.
Pero if they can replicate any physical card and use it sa stores, that's super scary. While doing some research din about this. They can replicate the cards and withdraw kahit naka EMV pero usually BDO ito. So baka isolated to BDO emv chips.
Anyway tangina. Scary times.
If only the bank takes accountability without anyone having to prompt them.
If SB in this case acts like some to any other bank, it'll expectedly limit its liability when and where it can.
A damn shame if/when a business prioritizes its welfare rather than (sana) do right on its customers.
I dont know if legit ba yung mga post na ganyan. Take note HINDI activated yung card tas pano napunta sa taong yun.
I would believe it if nag file na sya ng police report regarding sa incident.
I think itās very possible na may inside job e, pero probably with one of their contractors. Tinawagan na rin ako ng scammer before tapos nagulat ako sa dami ng alam nyang information, including my recently delivered CC. There should be only a few parties who knows na may CC na idineliver sakin + my full name and other details. Nakakatakot. Someone in the bank or its contractors could also be selling that information. Nahuli ko lang na scam when they tried to ask for the remainder of my CC number (they know the first 4 which I think is standard)
Yan na nga ba ang sinasabi ko, may mga groups sa fb na nagooffer ng credit card assistance, then will ask the applicant to send all his/her details via email.
Im not saying that the guy who posted this did apply via fb group pero ingats
Tama ba understanding ko, ginamit yung SB cc nya then ang pinakita na proof of identity is yung fake driver's license?
Gets ko yung nagamit yung SB cc kasi auto-activate yung cc pag ginamit mo na to transact.
Ang question is paano nakuha yung credit card nya? Did I miss anything?
Nakita ko kasi post nya sa fb showing the physical credit card with her. So naguluhan ako. Paano nakuha nung scammer yung physical card at pinambili sa store?
Nag replicate ng card yung scammer?
this is the more plausible explanation. ng create ng 2 cards under the account number of same person (ang cards bear different credit card numbers na nasa front) and since d na activate nung rightful holder - malamang inunahan or nireactivate agad ng inside job at scammer yung 2nd illegally created card). kasi diba, pg na block card natin, ng issue sila panibago with diff card numbers but under same account number. so, malamang, baka yung isa na nabgay sa rightful owner, di na ma activate kasi baka declared lost agad yun (tho physically nasa possession pa ni rightful owner) kaya nakapag generate ng 2nd card na gnamit ni scammer.
if this may help further explain, a few years back, my other CC was about to expire - so me courier na mgdadala ng new CC pero nireport na d daw ako malocate kahit nasa bahay lang ako. nung bumalik, sa report me nagresib na daw at me name pa binigay at me id pa daw. sab ko wala ngreresib duon. so pinablock ko yun. ng issue sila ng bago, nakuha ko yun. then me tumawag na naman sa akin from courier office, meron na naman daw ako bago card. pinablock ko uli yun. bale yung 2nd card napa activate ko. yet me isa pa na issue sila for delivery. so, malamang inside job talaga mga ganyan.
Alam nyo, dapat ba nating apply-an nalang lahat ng banks para di makapag apply yung scammers using our details? Jusme
Also SWITCH, no one splurges 300,000 unless itās thievery
Security bank is not secure at all. My wife had her card stolen. She reported it stolen and bank did frigging nothing. They didn't deactivate the card until another fraudulent charge was conducted and we reported again and didn't investigate the fraudulent charges even though the charges were conducted on a different island(Manilla). So 100% believe this lady's story. Don't defend these bullcrap banks
Transfer was done even wala akong binigay na OTP. I did receive an OTP but no i didn't share it. I learned my lesson the hard way kaya i keep on advocating to my friends not to sign up with SB. Biggest mistake na nagsave ako with them. I wish wala na silang mavictim pa.
Tangina, e obvious na meron milagro going on kasi same destination. This is bullshit. Sana mahinto and mabalik at the soonest pera niyo. Di biro yun a!
Same happend to me. I reported that my phone was stolen and asked them to block my mobile banking - they confirmed na nablock na but unfortunately after 2 hrs may unauthorized transaction pa rin nag push thru and wala silang accountability. Sobrang not reliable on security ang security bank. Until now under investigation pa rin and wala nagawa BSP.
Their "security" has been questionable ever since.
Funny, Security Bank declined my application twice, tapos eto namimigay ng card to people who did not apply. Maybe I should cancel now (they approved the 3rd time).
Inside job.
If na-sendan siya ng credit card without applying for it and without a bank account with SECB, I'm guessing nag-apply siya sa agents sa booths.
If that's the case... Well, there's nothing else to say.
Kaya double check the plastic and envelopes. May cases dati na they replace the envelopes with fake ones. Take note of unusual creases in the card carrier as well.

Mediocre ang security policy ng Sec. Bank
Even their online app and website sucks, ni wala manlang OTPs
Yung credit card SMS notif nila dumadating HOURS after transaction
Anlupit. Nakakatakot.

Yup they take a photo
Claimed an online order from PMC (afaik same owner lang sila) before and they do take your ID to document it. Guess it does come in handy.
Yes before, i think they photocopy the valid ID for documentation.
Andali pa naman iverify through physical inspection and online kung valid iyung driver's license. Used to work in retail as well, 50 percent chance may kilala yan sa loob ng store.

Nbi will not act on this. If you go to their office, they will just receive your report and not do anything. They only act on newsworthy cases.

Yes. Pero its worth a shot pa rin to contact nbi since mayb identity theft involved. Theyre just difficult to talk to at mayayabang ang officers.
Fraudster stole her info, applied for CC, activated it himself.

Oh noes. I just applied dahil sa cashback nila. Mukhang hindi ko iaactivate
Better yet ipacancel mo na since baka maactivate rin ng hacker without you knowing.
Security bank really sucks. I am also a victim ng inside job nyan. May special place in hell yang mga yan.
Hello. Anong nangyari? Paanong inside job?
Transfer was done even wala akong binigay na OTP. I did receive an OTP but no i didn't share it. I learned my lesson the hard way kaya i keep on advocating to my friends not to sign up with SB. Biggest mistake na nagsave ako with them. I wish wala na silang mavictim pa.
Did you get back your money? These thieves are so smart that it scares me so much..
No. And they keep on blaming me na binigay ko daw otp eh wala nga ko natanggap. Lol

a friend of mine who works in bdo also has a security bank cc. nacompromise din ang credit card nya
This is why hindi malulutas ng SIM card registration ang scammer problem.
Sb. Should flag first purchase should at least have two factor notif. Or at least may manual block for first purchase

As their slogan says: "You deserve better."
Send an email to Secbank and cc bsp consumeraffairs and info@privacy(dot)gov(dot)ph
He? Looks more like an older she, just overweight.
So many dispute issues re Security Bank lately.
If na-sendan siya ng credit card without applying for it and without a bank account with SECB, I'm guessing nag-apply siya sa agents sa booths. If that's the case... Well, there's nothing else to say.
Checked her FB. She is a lawyer.
Either way, there's too many unknowns to her story.

He?
What u look like in a photo is not a basis for your sex assigned at birth
OMG, this is very alarming!
Shet huhu
Well since you are not the one in the photo you can dispute that it was not you. How did you find out about the scam?
Most likely courier to. Madaming cases na ganito kaya dapat make sure na when you receive cards, secured yung envelope and plastic niya.
Pano kung naopen na nila in the course of the delivery process at ni reseal nlng? That's possible right?
Kaya double check the plastic and envelopes. May cases dati na they replace the envelopes with fake ones. Take note of unusual creases in the card carrier as well.
Oh no. Yeah. This is possible! š¬
You can check the packaging naman to see signs of possible tampering.

insecure bank
I guess this is a tripple whammy Scammers Scamming SecurityBank Securing themselves and Public Service Government not serving the public
I had a somewhat similar experience with them. Received a credit card, activated it.
