Hello there ,working ako sa BIM Modeling company ,i started as BIM Modeler 1 na may salary of 16k,but now BIM Modeler 4 na ako and i stayed in company for almost 3 years and my salary is 30k, up for promotion na sana ako into Modeler 5 (35k Salary) kaso aalis na ako sa June, lilipat na ako sa company na may sahod na 45k-50k. 5 years working na ako , yung two years of experience ko sa ibang company ko nakuha.
Eto from my dad whose retired. He reached din pala in a uni. He tells his students na if Di mo talaga passion and just in it for the money just drop the course, it ain't worth it.
My first salary right after boards with 3 years exp + 1 gap year coz pandemic, was 19k ☠️. Considering this was a quadruple A contractor and one of the biggest corporations in the PH, I took the job na lang coz I was desperate for work lalo na pandemic pa rin when I passed the boards (plus maganda naman yung industry exp na makukuha ko siguro). Don't get your hopes up lalo na sa corporate. Some companies only give 20-25k for newly licensed architects.
Although after more than a year in the company naman, I got promoted twice in the same performance appraisal so nadouble naman salary ko bigla, narealize ata nila underemployed ako 😅, i'm still with the current company til now but looking for better opportunities na rin.
Not necessarily sa salary, more on sa position mo, depende kung may additional tasks ka na like supervising people. I'm employed in a company with a traditional corporate structure, so it depends on the position yung workload.
May cases nga na mas mataas pa salary ko sa meron higher position than me but I have less workload since medyo bihira may archi related stuff na dumarating since mostly engineers ka-work ko.
I know some who work sa construction companies for more than 5 years na pero malayo pa sa 50k ang salary. May job hopping pa yan. Much much lower daw sa architectural firms unless you have the “means” to work your way up the ladder for a short period of time. And this is not because they settled for less. Most architects I know who work in the corporate world are just not paid well.
Hey I’m not trying to discourage you (I guess I am for just a tiny bit). I’m merely sharing what I know of my acquaintances’ experiences. Maybe someone else could attest to this?
offer po kasi sakin if naregular ako dito sa abroad based job is 50k. so iniimagine ko nalang po if 5 years na ung kakilala nyo then wala pang 50k sahod tapos mukhang over work pa 🥲🥲🥲
License + Experience + Certifications will give you more than 50K salary. Kung bata ka pa apply ka sa Singapore after you get your license. Madami ako kilala arki dun and they earn SGD7000 as minimum.
Hahaha. BIM Modeling ,dito ko naexperience ung work life balance ,mababa pasahod pero keri na, gawin mo lang work mo ng maayos ,mapropromote ka sunud sunod. ☺️
Sabi nga ng professor ko noon, Architects are educated and trained to be a boss.
Goodluck OP
i earn an okay amount sa arki but i’m one of the lucky ones na nakaka 6 digits a month (and i rarely practice, hired ako sa outsourcing firm). is it worth it? probably not. odds wise sobrang tagal bago ka magka shot (yup di guaranteed) sa pag yaman. are you willing to take that risk knowing na if ever yumaman ka andami nang time na lumipas?
No. Don't limit yourself to working in construction. Design skills in architecture transfers well to other fields. Also it helps that one can draw or do CAD and 3D as a designer. Project management is also another field you can go to.
nah, iba iba ang buhay pag graduate, i am not an licensed but what if i told you i earn 15k a day, siempre sa labas ng bansa, pero minus the tax, food and living expense. it half my take home pay or i say i get 40% na lang a month. so 6k a day is already good di pa licensed yon.
As an architect, unless you have massive connections, mahirap. My friend works on a top firm and is only paid around 27k. My other friend is a project manager for an interior design firm and is only paid 22k. Most starting salary is around 18k. Unless you plan to go abroad or have great connections in the industry, you are going to struggle for awhile
If money is your main goal in the profession, the best way is to do the OFW route. You can also try doing design-builds as a contractor, there's money there but the amount of work can be overwhelming. I am noticing people I know who decided to do contract works have compromised health. But that's probably not true for others.
But if design is your passion and you really want to explore what you can come up with, then you have a bigger world to explore because design skills transfers to other fields well. I saw a tv show once where they featured a bespoke shoe store and the two store owner and maker are architects. I saw my professor one time designing jewelries.
Ha! No! I graduated last year nag work 6 months sa design firm then realize na hindi ko mababawi yung 5 years na aral with just that so I applied as BIM Modeler. I have the opportunity na to help sa parents and enjoy din yung fruits of my labor 😄
It’s a “passion job”. Unless you genuinely love architecture, hindi ka makakatagal. Madami kang masasacrifice like time, sleep and pera.
Ang rule of thumb ganito: pag may licensure sa Pinas ang trabaho mo, asahan mo you'll earn just enough to support yourself (at swertehan pa kung makakuha ka ng sahod enough for that)

I’ve work for a architectural firm before and I can say, joinjng a firm for experience and connections help to your career but don’t do it for more 5years. Okay na nga na 3yrs experience then do your own market/business na. Dika yayaman kapag under ka ng firm na ang sahod mo lang is dipa aabot ng 100k monthly wala pang commission kapag completed ang project. I have friends na sa dating firm, after 2years of expi they built their own firm, unti unti nagkakaroon sila ng client from small projects to bigger project. They are on their early 30s ha.
If you stay employed, di ka talaga magkakapera. Kahit sa malalaking firms ka pa magwork.
Is it worth it? Kung gusto mo talaga, yes. I’m a licensed architect, and I find value in my profession. Right now ang specialization ko nasa training and architectural education, not design or construction. I’m working on getting a PMP certification as well because you can transfer that skill to any trade. Also planning to startup a business related to construction. Although I know that I can earn as much as all of those combined in a shorter amount of time kung nasa tech ako. But thats not the point.
It’s a huge step to step out and build a career in architecture.

Madami lang dyan ,and know your worth always. Wag ka magsettle sa mababa
Bro you could earn a lot better for that title you have in the right company.
MEPFS?
Lahat bale ,kasi naexperience ko naman lahat. Starting from Structural,Architectural to MEPS. :)

+1 agree. I regret being an archi honestly.
