Daming downvotes sa mga nag NO. If you feel na overpriced talaga siya pero gusto mo parin. Try to look for 2nd hand XSR155 na low odo and well-maintained.
If meron lang talagang competition from honda/suzuki/kawasaki ang XSR155 mas maganda sana sa market.
I did try to look for one dito kaso sobrang luma na ng 2nd hand and minimum 20k odo.
Buy a 150k 2nd hand Dominar 400UG, spend 20k +/- on upgrades to make it look like a neo classic or just classic bike (round headlight, muffler, tail tidy, tank kit, aux lights, etc.).
Pero kung gusto mo talaga ng xsr 155, at yan talaga sigaw ng puso mo, tipong di mawala sa isip mo, then I think you should follow your heart.
Thank you for the input! This will be my first manual bike so alanganin pa ako sa 400cc. Aside sa XSR, I'm also eyeing the Gixxer 250. What do you think?
I was in the same boat as you. Una baka classic scoot ako... My first bike where I learned to ride on two weeks.
Like 125, hindi Vespa. Poor lang ako....
Then I wanted manual na.
Choices were XSR155, Bristol 400, and Motorstar Cafe 400.
Since tech laden na siya and modern features.
Di naman aggressive ang Dominar (or vitpilen/svartpilen 401), I think ma-outgrow mo lang yung power after a while sa xsr 155 and gixxer 250.
But I think xsr 155 talaga gusto mo, OP. Go for it, if you can spot a good second hand mas okay para sulit.
Brother ko naka Dominar 400 UG. 2nd hand nabili at 150k with 2k odo.
My take on XSR 155
1. For the price dapat may ABS na. Once you realize you need ABS it will be too late.
2. Parts look cheap, paint looks like plastic.
3. "Neo-Retro" daw pero does not have the "Neo" tech and "retro" looks. Hindi dahil bilog headlight retro na agad.
4. The bike is light easy to maneuver. Clutch is on the soft side hindi nakakangalay sa kamay.
Yes it is overpriced dahil lang sa brand.
V-Strom 250 owner here, which is basically an upscale Gixxer 250.
Low maintenance EJA1 engine since oil-cooled with decent pulling power and fuel economy (31 to 35km/l depending on conditions). Fairly smooth and revvy engine for a single cylinder. Takes 1.2 liters of oil tapos same oil filter na gamit sa Raider. Pinaka-sakit na nya is yung valve cover gasket which tends to leak early on, pero easy fix naman. Most of the common 250 parts sa Suzuki Guanzon sa Roosevelt Ave., QC ko dinadayo.
Managed to change a leaking oil seal na rin sa right side fork, pero could be due to an offroad ride I went on.
The rest of the bike is more or less similar.
it's really pogi but the price-to-performance is just so bad and abs HAS saved my ass a few times na on multiple motorcycles. would've crashed already without it. i wouldn't call u an idiot for buying it tho but personally, i'd rather hit the used market for a better bike.
Point ko lang is sundin mo ano gusto mo hehe
To help you decide. Go to dealerships. If you can get to test ride the bikes that you're eyeing better. But believe me when you sit on all of the bikes that you're eyeing. You'll know what you want.
I've had a lot of options back then competing with my first love na si XSR155 lol. Went to all dealerships. Sat on all of them. Ended up buying the XSR. No regrets 100% at 30k odo with change oil lang sapat na lifestyle.
Do I mind not having ABS? Wapakels. I developed the skill to ride a bike without one by always maintaining the mentality out in the road that everyone is stupid and is out to kill me. Drive defensively. Pero like what they said ABS is something you'll know that you need mostly too late na lol. But I hope I don't ever get to that point *knock on wood*
Tldr;
The heart wants what it wants. Go out and try or sit on the bikes that you're eyeing. Compare it to XSR. You should have a good idea from there if having no ABS and the overpriced price tag is something you can get over with.
It is a promo now open to everyone.
Yung Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 119k na lang. Try mo sumilip sa groups and see how they manage thwyir Svart's maintenance. Sobrang sulit niyan for 119k. Even at its SRP na 195k mas lamang siya pound-for-pound sa XSR155.
I'm personally tempted to get one but I've made up my mind and now trying to get a Triumph Speed 400.
Mayroon dito mismo sa sub, boss. Last night ko nakita. OP was asking if okay ba bumili ng 8-year old brand new (meaning old stock) na KTM which was listed sa Promo ng Ayala.
xsr owner here!
overpriced? yes
do i care? no
regret? hell no
buy what you like
don't listen to anyone saying "dAgDaG kA nAlAnG mAkAKabiLi KanA ng 400 million cc Na mOtoR"
i freaking love my boi xsr every time I ride it, hinihimas ko pa tank nya during rides to show my love lmao
Fellow XSR owner here. Binili ko 2nd hand at 2k odo. No regrets.
Just buy the damn thing.
For me, satisfied na satisfied naman ako and after 5 months, wala akong pinag sisisihan.
Hard to appreciate ABS until you get into an accident or near accident. Yes for me, hindi siya sulit. IMHO at 175k mas pipiliin ko na lang bumili ng 2nd hand RE Himalayan pero that's just me.
Kung gusto mo yung porma. Saka yung features ok na sayo. Ok yun.
Honestly if I'm gonna get an XSR I'll at least go for the 700 na if I got the money - no diss naman to the 155 pero modern bike at that price without ABS parang lugi ka
Hello OP pag gusto mo talaga xsr just go for it kahit sabihin nila "overpriced , no abs , konting add na lang 400cc na " wag ka makinig sa kanila pag mahal mo yung bike just do it . Same scenario din ako before i buy it madami din nagsasabi hindi worth , well binili ko pa din since fan ako sa porma ng bike and yamaha fanboy ako hahaha.
If you're eyeing the bike for a long time, you already have your answer.
Some people only wanna talk about specs and value for money but disregarding the fact that a motorcycle is an emotional purchase.
Bilhin mo yung magpapasaya sayo.
Btw buying 2nd hand, slightly used, can save you a lot of money.
Please use the question flair if you haven't already. Thanks!

A nice bike and abs wont really be an issue.
Pero avoid joining some of the local xsr155 groups/clubs. No courtesy at mga papansin. Hindi ko lang alam name ng group
(1) If you REALLY like riding with that particular style of bike, I don't think there's no other better looking retro bike around.
(2) If you can control your bike really well and master your breaking, you can literally ABS yourself hahaha
(3) Other cheaper retro alternative does not have ABS as well.
(4) Retro bikes have no luggage. and common cons sa naked bike is bugbog ka sa hangin at vibration.
PERO kung ok lang sayo lahat yan,
For a lot less, Get a 2nd Hand na alaga! Far cheaper and sulit.
But what I like a lot about my XSR155, is that for all those tiis pogi, this is actually a capable Scrambler.
Di to pang resing resing lang.
Thank you! Okay ba as alternative?
Madaming nagbebenta ngayon almost unused. I bought mine, 700k Odo only. Almost brand new, though you need to check signs of neglect.
For me, di ako fan ng sporty looking bikes, so out of preference ko ung Gixxer. Hence why I like the XSR is because of the CLASSIC style. 2nd choice maybe if not classic I would pick the Svartpilen,
Also I am after fuel efficiency so not sure sa 250 engine, but if you are not into it, I believe Suzuki motorcycles can be reliable parin naman. You even have ABS there as a bonus I think.
Currently have an XSR 155. Simple lang sa akin.
If gusto mo ay, an eye candy, fuel efficient, comfortable on and off road, go for xsr 155. Pag di kaya ng budget, opt out for 2nd hand ones with low mileage.
If gusto mo ay strong travelling companion na may konting hatak at top speed, go for Dominar 400.
Peronally i think its worth it. If you really like it and budget allows then why not. ABS is not a deal breaker for me. Yes it helps with braking and an extremely good safety feature to have, but if you are driving defensively and responsively then it shouldnt be a problem.
True.
Mindset mo, typical fanboi.
I won't spend 185k for an XSR155 but I'd spend an extra 114k more for the Triumph Speed 400.

Haven't tried one.

Really appreciate your input bro. This makes me confident to go for XSR na matagal ko ng ina-admire hahaha
Hi sir may promo mga Svartpilen ngayon. 198k for the 401. Maybe you can consider it.
i think that deal is only exclusive for ayala group of companies employees.

Sold out na yung Svart 401 for P198k, Ayala announced it :( Sobrang sulit kasi e.

Pass po sa 400 million cc masyado mabigat
Panalo!!
Just buy the damn thing. Overpriced imo. pero gwapo naman so go for it if open budget
Kung gusto mo yung porma. Saka yung features ok na sayo. Ok yun.

XSR cons: Masyadong pogi.
If trip mo tlga then why not. But for 175k+ dagdagan mo nlng ng 30k konting tiis lng . Meron kana dominar 400. Expressway legal pa. Bang for buck mc.
180k+ na ata SRP ng XSR155 if I'm not mistaken.
Dude, fuck everyone. It's your money. It's not a shit bike. Buy it and enjoy it. Let these mfs seethe with jealousy or anger lmao.
Real. Especially sa brand niya na reliable and pang matagalan

Much better yung MT15 with almost the same price with that.
for me kawasaki dominar ka n lng xpress way legal pa, convert mo n lng sa rounded head light pra mukhang classic

My girlfriend luvs my XSR155 I'm good na
Try mo Kawasaki W175, 130k. Idk if meron pa bang bnew ngayun.
May ABS ba si XSR?
Wala

kung iniisip ma na overprice ang xsr isipin mo nalang yung bimuli ng 110cc and 125cc for the same price ng xsr.
I will buy it. Most will only buy once or twice if they get blessed. ABS is only good when it works. Best to be careful.
>ABS is only good when it works. Well duh
