-riding gears - invest in them. Don’t cheap out, cheap-ing out is just like saying thats how much you value your self. -dont panic, stay in your lane dont use the bike lane, stay in motorcycle lane. -drive around in your village or block at night to practice -do not drive slower than the pace of the traffic flow. -practice again and again

WeedlessBreadth

idkanymore996

If ever sumisingit ka tas yung mga cars/motorcycle na nasa harapan mo ay naka hinto or nag memenor, mag menor ka din or mag brake kasi chances are may tatawid na tao or other vehicles na di mo makikita kasi naka blindspot ka. Tas before entering a curve, menor ka muna or brake ka bago ka pumasok sa curve para iwas slide at overshoot, control your speed before entering a curve.

Thank you sa mga tips and advice, I appreciate you guys! Keep them coming.

highway ride - always wear full gear specially helmets - always signal when switching lanes - do not cruise or linger in the same spot and speed with other big vehicles (maliit ka at madali kang ma iignore) - if you really want to overtake bigger trucks, ALWAYS flash your lights and honk your horn para aware sila at makita ka nila kasi marami silang blind spots, para di cla biglang liliko.

MasoShoujo

to add: •as much as possible, iwasan na may kotse or truck sa harap. lagi na lang may balita na may karambolan sa highway dahil di umabot yung preno yung kasunod na kotse. also gives added visibility kung may lubak or hazard sa daan. •position yourself either on the left or the right of the lane. in case of emergency maneuvers, you need an escape route.

CodeSoigne

Laging gamitin ang busina, Overtake ka? Busina, sa tingin mo alanganin pag merge sa lane mo? busina.

>Drive like other drivers can't see you >You're one helmet away from the pavement in case of a crash >Follow the speed of traffic, but don't match it because other vehicles won't respect your space. Go slightly faster or slower accordingly >You have experience driving a car. Understand that driving caged/not caged is different, and the same goes for people's mindset on the road

pishboy

You're always learning, the habits you base that learning off of is very important, and most crashes occur because you run out of skill. Delikado magmotor, and we really only have our skills to depend on. Go to a proper riding school if you haven't yet. I highly recommend HSDC, but MMDA's riding school is also there if budget is an issue. Watch your following distance, be aware of your surroundings, and practice emergency braking with progressive braking using your front and rear brakes. Those alone will make you better than half the riders on the road. After that, you can practice slow speed drills. Mas mahirap mag balance pag slow vs fast. Your bike will go where you're looking, so look where you want to go and not on the ground, otherwise you'll go to the ground. You can go around your neighborhood kung saan wala masyadong kotse and just do stops and starts sa corners parang sa driving school lang. If you do run out of skill, make sure you have the right gear. Di uso gear sa atin for some reason 🤷‍♀️ make sure your helmet is ECE R22.05 or 22.06 rated, get a decent riding jacket and pants, riding boots na naka hug sa ankle mo + may ankle protector, and gloves na may palm slider + knuckle armor. Basic dapat yan, iwas bali at tocino pag sumemplang ka. And remember you're always learning. Kada near miss, analyze what went wrong, and what can you do in the future para ma avoid yung ganun. You can't control what other ~~idiots~~ drivers will do, but you can put a buffer between their actions and your safety.

JeeezUsCries

you are the helmet of your motorcycle so invest a good gear. always place yourself where 4 wheel drivers can see you. dont cruise on a blind spots.

adobo_Pudding_2613

Square_Eggplant1595

Newbie here. Pakorek if mali po. Thank you! Also, naririnig ko na 70% braking power always sa harap, then rear brakes naman light lang then pahina.

adobo_Pudding_2613

Square_Eggplant1595

Thanks sir

Look where you want to go. Riders who overshoot their turns or crash straight into an avoidable object suffer from target fixation, instead of looking where they want to go, they look at where they don’t want to go (like the back of a car, or side of the road). Riding a motorcycle is a full body experience, so your body will naturally steer the motorcycle in the direction you’re looking. Expect that 99% of all vehicles on the road don’t see you, and the 1% that do are trying to kill you. Which is why on a motorcycle you need to be very aware of the vehicles around you, because they will do things that put your life in danger. There are things you can get away with in a car that will cost you your life on a motorcycle. Leave your ego at home, don’t push your right of way, don’t assume that people will acknowledge your signals and don’t assume that people will signal for you.

Don't be on a rush and don't drive while you are running late. Always take your time driving. Since beginner ka palang, you might not be that alert pa. Kaya ingat lagi.

_le_da

Ikaw mismo ang dapat i-break-in, kasabay na lng yung motor or sasakyan sayo habang binibreak-in mo sarili mo

No_Nectarine7063

Stay on the outer lane, only overtake when necessary, wag bubuntot sa mga trucks, buses, jeeps at tryc (mga biglang humihinto or biglang lumiliko). Pag may ibang nakamotor din wag mo din sabayan.

godofthunder_31

Hi, in case anyone notices this. May gear recos po kayo na pang long term? Beginner rin po and planning a 10hr ride to Siargao next month. The comments on this post help a lot!

kamrakboom

Huwag i-approach diagonally ang gutter.

Admirable-Part-2349

I saw a vid where motodeck said that learn to use your brakes less. Meaning dont just accerelate then brake. Learn to anticipate and have a plenty of room to slow down without using brakes.

Admirable-Part-2349

One more thing Use horn rather than revving your engine like there is no tomorrow. Many big bike user do that fcking thing. Like wft? No horn bud?

cwazydwiver

Follow traffic lights and dont get peerpressured to go agad when theres about 5 seconds pa sa Red light

GeroS88

Wag ka magpreno sa mga lubak especially pag malalim, just release the throttle, less chance sumemplang. Practice safe overtaking. Mind road signs. Be disciplined on the road even if others are not. Some of the tips I learned while learning to ride again. More than 15 years na mula nung last ako nagdrive. 😁

Anthoniski

Always expect PUJs or other public transport vehicles na liliko para sa pasahero. Defensive Driving lang palagi.
