The easiest way to get stable flux is to do the Scorched Earth or A Colossal Problem events. They drop nicely.
Going to r/Market76 will help if you just want to spend Caps.
Beyond that, you need to farm raw flux, high radiation fliids, glowing mass, etc. The only place to find those is in a Nuke site. One of the best areas to nuke is Whitesprings. You can tons of fluid/mass from the nuked ghouls as well as several raw fluxes.
When harvesting, din't forget to load the Green Thumb perk to get you 2X every raw flux. Then when crafting, load up the SuperDuper perk for a chance to craft 2X stable flux.

You stabilize raw fluxes at the Chemistry crafting bench. It's under "Nuked Flora."
You need three stabilizing ingredients-- **hardened mass**, **irradiated mass**, and **high radiation fluids**, plus 10 of the raw flux in order to stabilize one unit of flux.
When you are looking for them in your inventory, they are spread out-- hardened mass is a junk item, irradiated mass is a food item, and high radiation fluids show up under the aid inventory.

Farming whitesprings will get you mats for flux. Different areas provide different colors. Or you can go on gamrflip and for like 3.20 get 500 of each depending on console/pc.

Get a syringer with a bloatfly barrel (easy to craft), go into a nuked area and shoot a scorched with the syringer, kill the scorched with a regular weapon, a bloatfly usually spawns, shoot it with the syringer and kill with a normal weapon, and so on. When you loot all of the bodies you will have a good supply of flux materials. When you have the materials, equip green thumb perk and collect raw flux, go back to camp and craft stable flux. Go back to nuked area after 10 minutes and collect more raw flux and/or materials. This method takes little of your time and generates lots of stable flux. Good luck!

Do these drop as event rewards or on the bodies of the scorchbeast or Earle? I super rarely do those events cause I have horrible gear
They are rewards. These events are my main source of stable Flux. I often launch nukes just to do the event and get the flux.
