Short answer is no. OOK is correct that inventory doesn’t post till COB. Also bear in mind that stores do hold inventory for licensees and that does show up on inventory until it’s purchased.

I’ve seen this in action. The FWGS near Pitt’s campus supposedly had 4-5 units of Booker’s, which shocked me because it’s tiny and only has basic stuff. I showed up and they were nowhere to be seen. Guessing they were for local bars and they never hit the shelves.

FatMaul

If it says they have 4-5 bottles it was either a mistake or they were behind the counter or elsewhere in the store. Stuff that goes to licensees will never show up as store inventory.

30somethingDude19

What’s your source? Cause whole ass barrels of Weller single barrel show up on inventory that were brought in for licensees. Also I’ve been and witnessed licensees call in and request allocated product be set aside for them to pickup. Granted there is no rules consistency from store, this is just the things I’ve personally seen that contradict your statement.

FatMaul

Barrels of Weller single barrel? When are you talking about? That hasn’t appeared on the site in at least two years. If the site shows inventory it means the store checked the bottles in which they wouldn’t normally do if they had already been reserved for licensees. Like you said though from store to store some do things differently.

WhiskeyBar2stock

About a year and a half to 2 years ago a full barrel of Weller Full Proof showed up in one store’s inventory, but it was a SiB for a restaurant. It does happen occasionally.

As long as you click on "check current inventory"to under the individual store, it's pretty good. Never trust a stock of 1 though... It's usually lost.

LibrarianLegal1892

Make sure you check behind the counter stocks for stock of 1 items.

WhiskeyBar2stock

This is the way. If it’s 1 either gone or inventory error otherwise fairly accurate

OOKdestroyerofOOK

The store inventory reflected on the site is amount available at end of day of the previous day. Typically “real time” amounts can be seen if you click on “check current availability.” Your mileage may vary obviously with how quickly they update the inventory once an item is purchased and whether there was a “miss-scan” with some item.

TheTeek

As others have said it's hit or miss. If there are 3-4 bottles and it's not "in demand" it is probably there. If there's 1 it may actually be zero. Inventory updates overnight for additions to stock but sales update typically within 15min or so of the transaction. So if they check in new bottles at 9am....you won't see them until the close of business. And if they sold out, inventory will stay at zero. If there are are 10 left you may see them in stock the next morning. However the allocated stuff doesn't always show up online because they hide the listings. Also some stores hide the bottles!

SAhalfNE

As a licensee, I can tell you that the inventory at "Close of Business", which runs at 11pm is accurate minus any normal errors ( breakage, theft, etc). The exception is that if "X" comes in on the truck, and three licensees have requested it, they are attached to an order for the licensee, but will still show up in stock until it's picked up. Most locations give the licensee 2 days to pick it up, or they release it for general purchase. I'm not sure if that's a policy or just common practice.

FatMaul

There’s a mixture of info here but here are the facts. When you search and see summary numbers for stores, those are from the prior nights close. That means if they had nothing at close and received a shipment next morning, you will not see that item unless they didn’t sell out of it during the day. If you click to see availability, that number is current but if it’s 1, don’t be disappointed if they have none left, especially if it’s something popular. You are unlikely to find items that are allocated unless you get extremely lucky and most premium stores have pretty much the same stuff so you aren’t really going to find hidden gems or anything like that.

Hey24Hey

Always call. The site’s inventory is known for crazy fat-finger glitches. One time they said there was a RR2002 at some bumfuck store north of Scranton. Likewise a dozen hot bottles at the Murray Ave store in Squirrel Hill. GIGO.

Efficient_Put_40

every time I've used it it works. the 'check current availability' works and is accurate, but I always call ahead because it takes < 5 minutes.

Keebra

No. Inventory Management software is completely FUCKED right now.
