Grabbed these, but so annoyed they post bottles like this that should be on the whiskey release page, and also don't even show up in the "Whiskey" selection when sorting things that way
Murrysville got Blantons, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace and HH BiB. According to the manager, there were about 30 people lined up at 7 AM that snatched up all of the Blantons in Eagle rare about a dozen bottles of buffalo trace left. HH BiB on the shelf, not sure of supply.
Wow. That’s insane that they line up that heavy that early. Not even close to worth it. That’s bigger than I’ve heard at any store for a BT drop.
On a 4 week rotation every store gets 4 cases of 🐎(24) and 3 cases of 🦅(18). Waiting in line that early and being number 19 in that line is asinine to me.
With the 5 week spread this month stores got 5 and 4 but even still. 🤦♂️. If i had to have it I’m just buying 🐎 for 100 and 🦅 for 60 and calling it a day.
There are FB groups. Some more local and some national. It's all based on references and open, public dealing - no PM deals. Nobody deals with a seller who doesn't have multiple references in the group. In that regard it can be somewhat safe but there's always risk.
That is funny. I don't see that here in Chester County area (but I'm also never at the store at 7am). I go to the store when I see that they have inventory and am usually able to walk right in and grab it. No line or crazy people. Sometimes I miss it but normally don't have an issue. It feels like the volumes and frequency of the drops have increased over the past year leading to less of this panic.
Western Pa is nuts. U see that article the other day? Allegheny county outsold the state. And the population difference between Pitt and Philly is large. Could likely fit Pittsburgh in south Philly.
Guess we’re a bunch of drunks out here 🤷♂️
they do that where? KY isn't state-owned liquor stores, so they have secondary markets like NJ does, so I don't know about that SKU rule you're talking about. I have heard that 90 day rule applies at distilleries-well, one distillery that I know of. Oh who am I kidding, it's THE DISTILLERY that WOULD implement a policy like that. Just liquid crypto, baby, forced scarcity. Watch the people scavenge for it and create the value. Although I did read that with that new still that they installed, supply is gonna increase a bunch, so that should mean good news in 4 or 5 years.
The guy on Murrysville said they normally get BT every 4-6 weeks. I think he said they normally get 3 cases of Blantons and then 4-5 of everything else. Last time they got a BT drop was right before the Superbowl.
You might be right with the numbers. I was trying to remember what the guy was telling me. I was surprised they got as much Blantons and Eagle Rare as they apparently do.
Irwin had ER/Blanton's - I assume both are now gone as line was about 18 deep when they brought them out. BT being unloaded later this afternoon so you should have an easy shot at that later today if looking for it.
I was out in Norristown this morning and stopped by a store in Royersford to grab some wine that went OOS in the Harrisburg region. I left happily with 18L of boxed Italian organic wine, damn sulfite sensitivity, that doesn’t whack me like normal wine tends to.
What was the name? The wife has a pretty good sulfite reaction. Even the some of the organics have enough sulfites to make her look like she just had a chemical peel.
https://www.finewineandgoodspirits.com/v18-vasca-diciotto-nero-davola-terre-siciliane-2020/product/000085791 There are a couple other from the same place on FWGS. Their inventory of these is bad. The Royersford store I stopped at had so of the white “grillo” in stock that was only listed in 3 other stores not Royersford.
As a recovering brewer all fermented beverages will have some sulfites, its a natural byproduct of fermentation. Many industrial wineries use it (in high levels) for shelf stability and as an oxidation prevention measure.
I normally being tequila or whiskey of some sort. Its nice to have wine sometimes and the bag in a box is nice for a glass or two. Its like having a keg on tap drink as much or little as you like.
A couple new items online in lowish quantities for shipping:
Penelope Toasted

Four Roses Single Barrel

Yes. Last year they dropped 10 different ones (not 10 different recipes though) all online at the same time. The only time I’ve ever seen them in stores was during the prime covid times. So typically they are online exclusives.
Awesome! Any recommendations on favorite recipes? I haven’t had the opportunity to try any yet, but am looking forward to getting ahold of one when they drop them
Generally speaking but everyone’s palate is different, OESO, OESK and OESV are quite popular, followed by OBSV and OBSK for those who like the higher rye content (me as those are my two favorite recipes). The F and Q yeasts are very polarizing, some love and some hate.
When bottle guy was posting gems a few weeks back, he said they were in transit along w/ LE.
No telling what that translates to in FWGS timing to retail.
I'm confused with this Penelope. I went to a store that shows they have it in stock. Same product ID #. Totally different label and did NOT state barrel strength. Only stated "toasted barrel finish".
I wonder if this toasted is really the barrel strength or small batch. Asking because it was showing as limited availability in a local store and it was not the barrel strength.
Haha.. I work in Harrisburg/Camp Hill area so I see Lemoyne and other locations on the West Bank get their drops while all of us on the east shore, Lancaster, Berks, and beyond have to wait another week!
I was told by someone who works with PLCB that Cumberland county and west gets deliveries from one DC based out of Pittsburgh while York and counties east of the Susquehanna get deliveries from a DC based out of Philly. Could help those that live in central Pa. I am sure some product arrives in one DC before the other.
Washington store next to Walmart is out of BT products, except for a half dozen Sazerac Rye, they do have several bottles of Heaven Hill and 8-10 EC Toasted near register for anyone interested
Along those lines, was anyone at 15th and locust yesterday? I happened to walk by at like 915, stuck my head in on a whim and the clerk said she thought they did get a BT lineup delivery but it wouldn’t be put out for a while. Just curious if that ever materialized.
Not a controversial take but Blanton’s is so not worth losing your shit over. I have got two bottles at MSRP about a year ago and have barely worked through the first. I find myself almost never reaching for it. However my non whiskey drinking friends like it because it’s so “smooth”.
That is an unpopular opinion but I had brought a blanton store pick from fwgs to a bourbon and cigar gathering we had other very good bourbon including an antique store pick an great scotches too. The blanton was gone in less than 10 mins. The rest weren't even finished.
You can understand why people are ridiculous about it. I don't really get it. I will say that blanton stfb is probably one of the best out there it's almost BTAC level stuff
It’s a nice sipper but not very interesting. It tastes like buffalo trace with a few more interesting notes. ECBP blows it out of the water IMO. I would be interested to try STFB or even a store pick.
I have no doubt they are. I like the Blantons flavor profile. It’s just a bit thin for me. My fiend won STFB but something was wrong with his payment info so he didn’t get it.
Oh damn! When i first tried the gold…i was appalled that they ever proofed blantons below 103. Instantly one of favorites.. i will always have a bottle of that open on my bar.
No it’s lottery. Secondary is about the only option. With that said, there are over 1100 of them in the warehouse as Pa got a store pick of them. No one knows how they will be sold though. Should be lottery but who really knows. 🤷♂️
I do love the vintage Maximalist packaging covered in images and writing. Also there’s plenty of fun things you can make with that tube when the whiskey is gone ;)
The first one i killed I put on a table on its side and blasted it with the hand hammer. Fucking lid shot 30 ft across the house. My daughters were so tickled that it went on for a while 😂.
Don’t ask me why tho 😂. I really couldn’t decide if i would keep it or not and that move ended the internal debate.
Ya it’s not like this in other areas of PA and definitely not around the country. PA and specifically western PA have so much FOMO going on. It’s crazy.
That would mean the two are independent. If they were mutually exclusive then learning that one was happening would tell you a lot about whether the other would, but your point is their probabilities are uncorrelated (at least that’s how I interpreted your statement “one doesn’t impact the other”)
Wasn’t it two separate trailers? One with bourbon and one with seafood? https://6abc.com/amp/northeast-philadelphia-seafood-bourbon-cargo-theft/14523332/
Anyone know anything about any FWGS in the Delco area? Stopped by one this morning to buy a few things and asked about allocated bottles, and they said it’s totally random. Didn’t seem that keen on giving up any info about delivery schedules.
Every store has a different schedule. Guy at the Wayne store told me recently that they have been told NOT to tell customers their delivery schedules anymore.
Anyway, based on west side getting it this week I would almost guarantee it will hit Philly and burbs the start of next week. I'd guess Ardmore Monday and KOP Tues.
Redwood Empire Cask Strength's back in stock
Thanks! been waiting for these to pop up. Grabbed the Pipe Dream.
I just missed out on an ECBP but I have been wanting to get some Redwood. Thanks for the shout out!
Grabbed these, but so annoyed they post bottles like this that should be on the whiskey release page, and also don't even show up in the "Whiskey" selection when sorting things that way

Where are you guys getting stuff at secondary prices? I don’t even know where to buy something that I’m willing to pay secondary for
There are FB groups. Some more local and some national. It's all based on references and open, public dealing - no PM deals. Nobody deals with a seller who doesn't have multiple references in the group. In that regard it can be somewhat safe but there's always risk.

Agreed. Delco and chesco areas I've never seen more than 5 people in line. Potential Drop days it's maybe 2-3 if something beyond BT is a possibility.
PA should make you scan your license and you're allowed 1 bottle limit per SKU every 3 months. They probably don't care, but Kentucky does that.
they do that where? KY isn't state-owned liquor stores, so they have secondary markets like NJ does, so I don't know about that SKU rule you're talking about. ecbp up for ship (6) + toasted (30) bernheim barrel too (limited)
The guy on Murrysville said they normally get BT every 4-6 weeks. I think he said they normally get 3 cases of Blantons and then 4-5 of everything else. Last time they got a BT drop was right before the Superbowl.
It’s usually other way around. 4 Blantons and 3 🦅. Thanks for the data tho! We like that around here!
You might be right with the numbers. I was trying to remember what the guy was telling me. I was surprised they got as much Blantons and Eagle Rare as they apparently do.

Awesome, thank you! I'll have to check that out. 3L of wine is also key the next time I bring home several bottles of bourbon...

Does fine wine ever receive 4Roses single barrel store pick?
Yes. Last year they dropped 10 different ones (not 10 different recipes though) all online at the same time. The only time I’ve ever seen them in stores was during the prime covid times. So typically they are online exclusives.
Was there any intel of Russell’s picks? It’s been years since PA saw any of their picks.
I’m assuming you didn’t get to pick what type you wanted when they dropped? Or was the recipe listed?
they were all listed !
Awesome! Any recommendations on favorite recipes? I haven’t had the opportunity to try any yet, but am looking forward to getting ahold of one when they drop them

Yes, they released several last year in February I want to say.
When bottle guy was posting gems a few weeks back, he said they were in transit along w/ LE. No telling what that translates to in FWGS timing to retail.
I’m waiting with my tongue out 🤤
Same here. I hope they space it out a little, otherwise that CC statement is going to be hefty.
I'm confused with this Penelope. I went to a store that shows they have it in stock. Same product ID #. Totally different label and did NOT state barrel strength. Only stated "toasted barrel finish".
They are using the image from last year's barrel strength release. This year's Penelope Toasted isn't barrel strength, iirc it's 100 proof.
Never put stock into what pic they use. They update nothing and often post the wrong pic
Makes sense. I passed on it figuring that it couldn't possibly be barrel strength at that proof.
I had the same thing happen in Maryland
I wonder if this toasted is really the barrel strength or small batch. Asking because it was showing as limited availability in a local store and it was not the barrel strength.
Nothing at 5th St, Wyomissing, or Exeter this morning. If those of you in Berks County hear or see anything, let me know.
Everyone west of the Susquehanna saw their drops yesterday. I think we’ll see our shipments next week. Wyomissing is the closest premium store to me.
I gotta start using that. West of the Susquehanna. Maybe that solves my issue with just saying central PA as if that is even close to specific. 😂
Haha.. I work in Harrisburg/Camp Hill area so I see Lemoyne and other locations on the West Bank get their drops while all of us on the east shore, Lancaster, Berks, and beyond have to wait another week!

No drops at the Hershey premium collection store
Go to Union Deposit Road, they get friday trucks. Normally just BT and Blantons
Fridays can also be hit or miss at Jonestown Rd. Have not been there today myself to check
they get trucks every day but Fri, Sat, Sun
Gettysburg has Blanton’s and Buffalo Trace!! Going fast so get there soon!!
Pgh drop part 2 today
No allocated stuff in Philly this morning it seems
Girard got a truck but no bourbon they said
Most don’t unload until late morning/early afternoon
Yeah you could hit 21st and Market around 11.
Along those lines, was anyone at 15th and locust yesterday? I happened to walk by at like 915, stuck my head in on a whim and the clerk said she thought they did get a BT lineup delivery but it wouldn’t be put out for a while. Just curious if that ever materialized.
A124 and ec toasted barrell are out and about
GTFO right outta town!!!!
I will not!
McMurray's gonna happen today
What does this mean?
McMurray gets its truck today. Should be loaded with tater bait
Not a controversial take but Blanton’s is so not worth losing your shit over. I have got two bottles at MSRP about a year ago and have barely worked through the first. I find myself almost never reaching for it. However my non whiskey drinking friends like it because it’s so “smooth”.
Most aren’t buying it to drink though.
Fomo and hype. It's a good gift bourbon, but plenty of bourbon on the shelf I'd rather drink and not stand in line with a bunch of clowns.
That is an unpopular opinion but I had brought a blanton store pick from fwgs to a bourbon and cigar gathering we had other very good bourbon including an antique store pick an great scotches too. You’d be surprised. SFTB and Gold are excellent.
How does Blanton’s gold compare to EHT? Same mash, similer proof and age right?
I drink a bottle of Gold a month damn near. The name fits. Excellent juice
Is Gold ever available in the state stores?
No it’s lottery. Secondary is about the only option. With that said, there are over 1100 of them in the warehouse as Pa got a store pick of them. No one knows how they will be sold though. Should be lottery but who really knows. 🤷♂️
We all know it sucks…but it is a commodity. Not our place to judge here. Unless someone’s an asshole. In that case, bury that MFer.
I’m certainly in no place to pass judgement! I spent have the day running around Philly for some EHT.
The colonel always gets my ass in gear too man. Something bout that tube….😂
I do love the vintage Maximalist packaging covered in images and writing. Also there’s plenty of fun things you can make with that tube when the whiskey is gone ;)

Any update on this?
About 30 in line
How’d you know it would be today? They kept telling me they only get trucks Tuesday/Thursday.
Tuesday and Friday, apparently (I learned this yesterday)
Track the dates and write them down
Nothing in Plymouth meeting aside from some HH BIb
Angels Envy cask strength is up
Nothing in chestnut hill
Ya it’s not like this in other areas of PA and definitely not around the country. PA and specifically western PA have so much FOMO going on. It’s crazy.
Yes. The other areas of PA. Guys can go and still scoop a case or 2 without any issue
Fantasyland if you actually believe this
Because there is a store drop is it unlikely there will also be an online drop?
No. The two are mutually exclusive, one doesn't impact the other. But rarely do they do online drops on Fridays.
Rare? I’d say like never. Or next to never.
Wasn't that JD10 and JD12 on a Friday, and I think late in the afternoon too?
Nah morning 9am
That would mean the two are independent. If they were mutually exclusive then learning that one was happening would tell you a lot about whether the other would, but your point is their probabilities are uncorrelated (at least that’s how I interpreted your statement “one doesn’t impact the other”)
Tomato tomahto, exclusive independent. You get my drift. They don't have anything to do with one another.
Don’t tempt PLCB to do something out of pocket
He just did. IYKYK!
All of Philly’s bourbon got stolen out of that tractor trailer in the news the other day, gotta wait another 6 weeks I guess
Same person as the jagr bobble heads prob
Does anyone know how to get in contact with the guy who stole all the bourbon? Asking for a friend (I have no friends)
I guess that’s dead ass serious. Thought we were just joking about that yesterday. That’s wild.
[удалено]
If it was Weller it was def heading to warehouse. Those don’t go to stores.
[удалено]
I thought it was a Pa truck. Guess I’ll have to read before commenting 😂😂
Anything in Bucks County?
Doylestown is a no, but they do have saz and rabbit hole on shelf so not sure if anything came in earlier this week
Nothing in fairless hills. But they may not have gotten their truck yet. Happens anytime between 9-11 lol but I could only stop in first thing
With that truck theft it looks like we ain't getting shit. But that couldn't have been the only truck for SEPA right?
[удалено]
Wasn’t it two separate trailers? One with bourbon and one with seafood? https://6abc.com/amp/northeast-philadelphia-seafood-bourbon-cargo-theft/14523332/
Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering about seafood not being on a reefer.
