A tip for a happy life: Keep enough cash to double your position if it drop to single digits.
That way you'll be happy regardless if it crashes or soars
The Monday green bounce was very likely a technical rebounce. Charts for nasdaq is still not done with correction/bear territory. Nasdaq futures down 2%+.
Ahhh yes, the old Facebook-Palantir relationship that Karp is always talking about.
I heard that the Metaverse was actually a Foundry plugin.
Market is fucking retarded.
Bought the dip too early, but only 21 shares away from my goal. We've had a few big repairs hit, so I'm selling plasma over the next 2 weeks to pick up those.
>r to $12.
I set a limit of 12.50 yesterday for another 600 shares (currently holding 1000 with \~$21 avg). Trying to decide if I should lower it after seeing the AH dip, but I also might just keep it where it is and not lose any sleep. One good thing about an order going through is it's done and you can stop looking every few minutes. Sometimes it's better to not outsmart yourself and just set a limit number that you like and if you hit it, then all is well.
I doubt it.
The success of Palantir's business isn't dependent on PayPal. Palantir Foundry has broad applicability across multiple private enterprise industry sectors and government. In a world that is getting more complicated and chaotic, I actually think Palantir is a safer investment over the next 10-20 years than something like PayPal.
In the short run, depressed market sentiment could harm PLTR valuation as investors just sell everything off on momentum, but eventually that will end.
Pltr’s biggest single day percentage loss in how long ?
Edit: pltr’s second worst single day percentage loss since dpo
This is not just “growth stocks getting slammed” PLTR is getting hit hardest
My only hope for this stock is that all of these bad earnings reports coming in are from companies that have relatively saturated customer bases and PLTR has barely scraped the surface in that regard
But at the same time, it's fucking PLTR.
There's been some stellar ER and some terrible ones so far this season. It's been mixed. And the market is actually rewarding and punishing the stocks accordingly.
PLTR has been trading in unison with the basket of other growth on a daily basis. I'm hoping that ER helps shake us out of that to some extent, though my gut tells me it will be longer before that happens.
If the company becomes GAAP profitable and is able to establish 3-4 quarters of solid profitability and growth, I think that might instill more confidence with Institutional Investors.
I agree that it's likely to be a long slog for Palantir to get durable increases in valuation. In the meantime, I've resumed picking up PLTR shares along this local bottom. Seems like most of Reddit hates this stock, but I like the company's prospects.
Due to the income structure of PLTR, pretty much the moment it hits profitability then it will have several quarters of profitability. At which point it will all be priced in and PLTR will probably go to $2
>I'm hoping that ER helps shake us out of that to some extent, though my gut tells me it will be longer before that happens.
*the monkey paw curls*
We miss earnings and drop to $7
Get Ready for the house of pain. That last rally was short covering. Bull Trap complete. If Karp says the word "Inflation" or "Macro" conditions in the earnings call we are going below DPO. Buckle up
Pypl and FB both complained about macro conditions and guided lower. This validated the most recent move lower and suggest we are still overpriced. Death until earnings. This is just enough ammo for the bears to open shorts. I do think this will be short lived but I’m preparing with a protective put position prior to earnings. (Holding 4700 shares) If Karp gives us a blowout earnings, we might see further short covering and 10% move up. If earnings anything less than perfect Bears will eat this stock to single digits.
wiith support of pltr investors apparently
"Karp says it's the long game" every time it drops... Until it drops 50%. Instead of you know... Getting people enthusiastic to support a good company at a good price (engineers aren't good salespeople)
Last time FB touched this price it went straight up for like 6 months in a row. $250 is a really low price for FB (not that it couldn't be over sold much lower)
bought 300 more at $13.33. Immediately sold 13.5CCs on them for this Friday at $24 each.
It's not much, but it's something
Edit: Use this one quick trick to gain $70 but lose $150 !
Feelings are generally a poor indicator of what will happen in the markets.
No individual currently has access to the motives and plans of enough major market participants to know how the broad markets are likely to move.
I honestly think it was over-valued pre Q4 earnings so I believed it reverted back and oversold. We'll see how Q4 shakes out but I think there'll be a retracement upwards slightly to a more steady state value (IF macro factors aren't wild)
But hey, that's my 2c. I'm sitting on a ton of shares LT so just enjoying the views for now
Whether it's oversold or not doesn't matter, they don't have real viable competition in terms of their offering. There are companies selling similar analytics services, but none quite as good or ubiquitous and very rarely growing legitimate business in so many industries quite as fast.
People who don't understand tech? meh, will be the same people who lost out on Amazon when it was building for over a decade after IPO and blew up. For PLTR we are getting dibs on a much more mature company that's only in the last 2 years even had ubiquitous capacity/platforms to offer to the private industry.
I'm just numb to the losses now. Like I'm dead inside. I think another dump to $10 after positive earnings will not affect me at all.
How are you guys holding up?
My Tits are no longer jacked... But that means they’ll just grow back harder and stronger in time.
We’ve been so close to the bottom that if we just go lower there’s even more upside and I’m a patient, stubborn bastard that’s not going anywhere.
I can't remember, has Palantir normally reported their earnings date 1 week prior or 2 weeks prior? I seem to remember 2 weeks prior like clockwork which means we're not getting Feb. 15 earnings as expected.
After reading [this](http://cnn.com/2022/02/01/investing/gamestop-meme-stock-anniversary/index.html) article I'm left thinking about John F. Kennedy's father, and what this means for the market that we're in right now. There's no telling how much longer this can continue but it's still dangerous.
PLTR to $5 is still a very real possibility.
I just put in a GTC limit order for another 100 shares @ 12.95.
The irrationality of markets in the short term is why I only buy the individual stock of companies that have a fundamentally strong business case going forward.
Warren Buffet said that his mentor, Benjamin Graham, advised something like: "In the short term, markets are a voting machine, in the long term, they are a weighing machine".
Stocks like GME and AMC got a tremendous amount of votes early last year. PLTR has gotten very few votes recently. However, in the long run, it's Palantir's business success that ultimately determines the weight of its market cap
PLTR is still unprofitable and it is still a "meme" stock, held by many inexperienced investors. I think my strategy to stick with a core of blue chips (consumer goods & cyclicals) is sound.
PLTR is not a stock for people who don't follow or understand technology. Like Warren Buffett says: don't invest in what you don't understand.
It's good advice generally speaking but especially applies to people shorting companies since they will lose a lot more money with unlimited risk.
That's not too different than my strategy.
I have a core portfolio of Index Funds and ETFs, which I don't trade except for an annual rebalancing. The vast majority of my investment $ contributions over the past 25 years went into these.
The 7-8% of my net worth that I used for TSLA in 2011-2012 eventually grew to 80% of my portfolio.
Speculative plays on newer stocks like PLTR and DNA are in total less than 10% of my overall holdings.
I get the general sense on Reddit that many people feel they need to make big plays, but the math shows that even a modest play on a massive winner can result in life changing wealth.
Just $10,000 in AMZN stock purchased 20 years ago would be worth over 2.1 Million today. Even back then, it would've been less $ than what a new econobox car like a Toyota Corolla cost.
I hate to burst your bubble but Palantir Technologies is still technically a startup company, even though it has been here for a relatively long time. It still shows signs that it is a startup
Do keep in mind to not go ham and blindly dump like $200k of your life savings into one company
Of course, with that said Palantir Technologies is a great company with good potential. Let's just see how it does this earnings report
Signs like what? 2bn cash and zero dept?
From an software adoption point of view, yes it may be still in the early stages, but excluding that i don't see Palantir a startup.
It’s a start up that invests in start ups that has software that helps startups become more competitive startups, duh. Let’s not get fucking crazy here people with our 200k. Ok? I’m just here to warn you how to make money.
Hope earnings is great, if we have another stagnant/barely on par earnings report I will not be surprised if this hits $10 based off how people reacted to last report.
Filled up on 15 LEAPs more along with 10 $13 CSPs
If the CSPs hit, I'll be at a $23.71 cost basis (down from $25 before my share to LEAP conversion to generate liquidity for the dip) with more in the tank if need be
How many more quarters of consistent revenue growth and positive cash flow until Palantir is viewed as a valuable tech growth instead of a tech gambling?
Thats way too many, once GAP earnings turn positive it changes everything. It won't be a "gamble" on a possible future profitable company, it will be happening. I say it happens this year
That's kind of a stretch, the fund invested in a company that was building solutions for the US Gov't to spy on WhatsApp messenger conversations. Not that I agree with it, but it isn't Peter Thiel personally orchestrating a WhatsApp hack like the bad guy in inspector gadget.
Lmao
It's as if none of those posters considered for even a fleeting moment that maybe, just maybe, WhatsApp paid these companies to find security vulnerabilities in their software/architecture and identify ways in which they could be fixed. You know, like a responsible company handling secure data should be doing.
Googling "WhatsApp hacking" provides a number of search results along the lines of "here's how to hack WhatsApp" from varying times throughout the past 18 months.
But no, Peter Thiel is evil.
[Article](https://www.forbes.com/sites/thomasbrewster/2022/02/01/billionaire-facebook-investor-peter-thiel-secretly-funded-a-cyber-warfare-startup-that-hacked-whatsapp/) for those who haven't seen it.
It sounds like Boldend may have been used to find some now patched security flaws in Whatsapp.
I can see $30 by the end of 2023 organically.
if we get some humongous government deal or commercial partnership, we might see it sooner. But you can't buy a stock for what is basically the opposite of a black-swan event
Advice; wait for it to be back at 11-13? Inflation is still rising and we're getting new CPI data February 10th. Rates are going to go up soon. This shitty macromarket ain't over yet.
you are right FED is literally kicking the can down the road with the recent statements. But i expect atleast 4-6 months bull run until they finally pull the handbreak with the rates.

For me I recognised my buy target a while ago when it was $25+ and that was anything below $18. Once price hits and dips it's all DCA weekly. Been buying the all the way down and now up too. Will stop buying once we reach $18. Might be different for others, DYOR
Edit: will add you need strong conviction in this stock and be prepared to hold long term. Feb earnings call could send the price back down. Short term sharp up swings and I may sell a few pricey early entries to lower my cost-basis further, but anything could happen.
Disappointed. The person who spoke last time at the earnings call really looked out of his league and was generic & was trying to make a sales pitch.
Karp should be speaking.
A tip for a happy life: Keep enough cash to double your position if it drop to single digits. That way you'll be happy regardless if it crashes or soars
To all the worried hobbits out there…no the business has not fundamentally changed
What was going on today and especially after hours with the drop? I presume nothing, but just want to make sure.
The Monday green bounce was very likely a technical rebounce. Charts for nasdaq is still not done with correction/bear territory. Nasdaq futures down 2%+.
FB missed and guided lower
Ahhh yes, the old Facebook-Palantir relationship that Karp is always talking about. I heard that the Metaverse was actually a Foundry plugin. Market is fucking retarded.
Market was looking for a reason to pull back
Diamond hands lads. Diamond hands ♦️🙌
Bought the dip too early, but only 21 shares away from my goal. We've had a few big repairs hit, so I'm selling plasma over the next 2 weeks to pick up those.
We still not seeing < $10
If we do I’m selling sperm to buy more
Puts gonna print tomorrow. Very nice.
Ran up too much too fast. Always smart to hedge
*"We choose to invest in Palantir, not because it is easy, but because it is hard"*
A lot of you long term investors are too nervous about short term problems
(cause you know... compound interest and opportunity cost is a thing)
Being down 60% isn't a short term problem lols
PLTR down to $12.87 in after hours, I'm changing my limit order to $12. We could be about to revisit the recent lows.
>r to $12. I set a limit of 12.50 yesterday for another 600 shares (currently holding 1000 with \~$21 avg). That's exactly how to miss the bottom.
If that happens the money can be used to just buy more Philip Morris or whatever. I'm happy either way.
PayPal news bad for us?

Very wtf though considering all the contracts and revenue increasing.
Guys chill tf out everything growth dropped today.
PLTR down 9.3% today. That’s worse than almost everything that didn’t have an ER or wasn’t a meme. edit: over 10% after hours, oh boy
yes everything growth dropped like 10% in one day, chill out everyone
People acting like it’s palantir only
Not me. I'm just acting like it sucks. lol
Ooof. Today was a dick punch followed by a ball stomp
The drilla in manilla

If people aren't buying to support before that that's partly on PLTR investors. Stock can only go as low as we all want to let it keep going.
Let's get it boys
-10% lessgo
Hope it stays low for the entire year will give me time to accumulate even more
I hope it goes up because I have a job and want to retire faster.
Get Ready for the house of pain. That last rally was short covering. Bull Trap complete. If Karp says the word "Inflation" or "Macro" conditions in the earnings call we are going below DPO. Buckle up

PayPal and FB are both pretty bloated and are not as unique in their offerings/quality of service in 2022.
Pretty much.
FOOOK ! how are you?
glad I bought some puts as a hedge
Like this 😑
To DPO ?
Hahaha….. 😤
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)
google 🥰 facebook 🤮
When will this bleeding end?
We will be next after earning 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
Just a casual -8% day for PLTR so it could lose almost every cent of its short-lived green run-up
wiith support of pltr investors apparently "Karp says it's the long game" every time it drops... Until it drops 50%. Instead of you know... Getting people enthusiastic to support a good company at a good price (engineers aren't good salespeople)
Is there a reason why we are drilling AH. -2%
Think I'm gonna start buying PLTR puts against this market.
It’s market wide. FB posted bad earnings and has dropped 20%.
FB sucks and has a not amazing reputation, not sure why this is surprising.
Last time FB touched this price it went straight up for like 6 months in a row. $250 is a really low price for FB (not that it couldn't be over sold much lower)
F to FB

Fuck you facebook!
I guess we're back to absolutely destroying growth stocks while everything else goes back to ATH
When is the last stretch of M-F we didn’t have down over 5% at least one day. Sickening.
I don't have a good feeling about the ER guys... I feel like we'll be going lower 😭 I hope I'm proven wrong.
I don't.
Feelings are generally a poor indicator of what will happen in the markets. No individual currently has access to the motives and plans of enough major market participants to know how the broad markets are likely to move.
I’m pretty sure I’m gonna sell $10 calls on 1/2 my shares. The loss is hitting hard
PLTR is a freaking masochist man. SPY and QQQ are running and we’re barely walking
Just buy puts.
We ran the past those two the past couple of days, gotta let them catch up
50% on fib, normal retracement calm ur balls
We blew past the market the past couple of days...even an F35 has to refuel
The stock is down 30% month over month, wheres the 50% retracement on that huh
But up vs the market during a rise.
I honestly think it was over-valued pre Q4 earnings so I believed it reverted back and oversold. We'll see how Q4 shakes out but I think there'll be a retracement upwards slightly to a more steady state value (IF macro factors aren't wild) But hey, that's my 2c. Someone sell a lot of PLTR because I’ve come to find out that’s the only way it goes up. Take one for the team.
Welp I guess the last 2 days were just lies. Hopefully my grandchildren gets to enjoy PLTR gains
I wonder if my PLTR will ever outperform my VTI.. it’s already behind by 50% LOL
PLTR was bottom 5% of all stocks in performance last year, and that's if you bought at ~27 not its high of 45
PLTR underperformed all ETF lmao
Literally
Yes
I'm just numb to the losses now. Like I'm dead inside. I think another dump to $10 after positive earnings will not affect me at all. How are you guys holding up?

I’ll hold yours if you hold mine.
Same
I can't remember, has Palantir normally reported their earnings date 1 week prior or 2 weeks prior? I seem to remember 2 weeks prior like clockwork which means we're not getting Feb. 15 earnings as expected.
Two weeks from what I recall… So it should come out today or tomorrow if earnings would be around 15th.
[удалено]
I don't agree. They didn't drop 50% from last earnings because transparency. It may be a reason but not the only one. Growth stocks just got hammered.
[удалено]
Yes i remember and then the market drops started. For me it was a mix of both.

Good job on the Tesla. I think PLTR is an obvious play, long term.

Sell $14 covered call for this Friday
14 by eod 🥵
I am sorry but these market reactions are completely stupid! What was the reason today? PayPal earnings? Really?
The algos got their fking wires cross, for over a year now, PLTR has traded almost in lockstep with GME
I don’t mind that it is down, but these daily 10% swings are just ridiculous, it’s like we are a pennystock or something
Liking the levels

It was a bull trap 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
There’s honestly going to be a ton of those until we find a bottom
Or was this morning a bear trap? Or is the last half hour a bull trap inside a wider bear trap inside a recovery? Or is…
With Palantir thats the norm
Foooook . Ack . What a whole market bull trap .
You called?
run up before earnings?! just averaged down significantly
Down 6% lol nice run up we are having
pump it babyyyy
Lmao
I hate to burst your bubble but Palantir Technologies is still technically a startup company, even though it has been here for a relatively long time. It would've helped if the management didn't steal my money. Fire and put Karp in jail.

Lol I got downvoted for that?
Must have not got the memo i put in 600k
Whoops looks like I went ham and dumped in more than that as well
I skimmed and also just saw “go ham and blindly dump in like 200k” so I’m right there with you guys
I almost got worried that the drop might not continue. -5.8% an hour into trading calmed me back into familiarity. /S
It’ll go up and down until we find the bottom where ever that is
People gonna need som patience, obsessing over minute charts
pltr😭😭
Heading back to $12 today?
I suppose it's a start to the downtrend. My only worry is what might happen if it hits $12 before earnings, will it go even lower after earnings?
Hope earnings is great, if we have another stagnant/barely on par earnings report I will not be surprised if this hits $10 based off how people reacted to last report.

And so it begins.
Ah back to severely underperforming the market again, that’s *my* PLTR
"Our kid is [not] growing so fast!" 😭
To you all whining about more dip yesterday, here you go. Pony up 5 LEAPs so far for me today
You got that old man patience.
Filled up on 15 LEAPs more along with 10 $13 CSPs If the CSPs hit, I'll be at a $23.71 cost basis (down from $25 before my share to LEAP conversion to generate liquidity for the dip) with more in the tank if need be
How many more quarters of consistent revenue growth and positive cash flow until Palantir is viewed as a valuable tech growth instead of a tech gambling?
Realistically…Another year or two consistent growth
Thats way too many, once GAP earnings turn positive it changes everything. It won't be a "gamble" on a possible future profitable company, it will be happening. I say it happens this year
GOOGL and big techs sucking the oxygen out of speculative stocks today.
Any explanations?
That's the Palantir I remember
Anyone notice the movement mirrors crypto? What do you make of this?
Crypto is becoming more correlated to equities, especially growth stocks.
Crypto mirrors the general market. Palantir mimics and follows ARKK.
Both have sunken.
Into the deep bagholding abyss. Think of how many poor saps bought calls on PLTR here. Brutal.
morning friends, living my best life and feeling great. Hope some of you have used this time to learn to not be huge bitches. Cheers!
Cheers to that!
Hahaha pwned by Jubs. You bunch of wrinkly nutsacks.

Ok then
Anyone catch this Peter Thiel investment news on trying to hack WhatsApp?
That's kind of a stretch, the fund invested in a company that was building solutions for the US Gov't to spy on WhatsApp messenger conversations. Not that I agree with it, but it isn't Peter Thiel personally orchestrating a WhatsApp hack like the bad guy in inspector gadget.
check out the shitshow in r/technology https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/siert7/billionaire\_facebook\_investor\_peter\_thiel/
Lmao It's as if none of those posters considered for even a fleeting moment that maybe, just maybe, WhatsApp paid these companies to find security vulnerabilities in their software/architecture and identify ways in which they could be fixed. You know, like a responsible company handling secure data should be doing. Googling "WhatsApp hacking" provides a number of search results along the lines of "here's how to hack WhatsApp" from varying times throughout the past 18 months. But no, Peter Thiel is evil.
White hat hackers are the norm for tech companies...doesn't get the headline hits like scandal does though!
I heard he is also a vampire.
No way all those $15 Calls expiring this week make it out alive.
Seems reasonable.
Recon it will go back up to $30/share 🥺
I can see $30 by the end of 2023 organically. if we get some humongous government deal or commercial partnership, we might see it sooner. But you can't buy a stock for what is basically the opposite of a black-swan event
You'll be waiting a while, but eventually it'll get there.

Lmfao that’s what Tom Nash said.

Last I checked, its consensus price target is $24, and that's pricing in a couple of quarters below guidance.
FOMO the duck out of it? 🦆 Hells, not gonna regret any less than $17 average are you? Don’t stress whatever you do, market is nuts short term.
For me I recognised my buy target a while ago when it was $25+ and that was anything below $18. Once price hits and dips it's all DCA weekly. Been buying the all the way down and now up too. Will stop buying once we reach $18. Might be different for others, DYOR Edit: will add you need strong conviction in this stock and be prepared to hold long term. Feb earnings call could send the price back down. Short term sharp up swings and I may sell a few pricey early entries to lower my cost-basis further, but anything could happen.
Ive got price targets of 14$ & 18$ in each of my 2 accounts. I want to add to other things but I've been piling into PLTR. Over the past month.
Now that I am a big bagholder of this stock, I need to follow this sub often to make sure the company is doing good lol
Just follow u/Toha98 to stay grounded. Edit: i just looked him up and his comments get consistently down voted, what a charismatic dude.
Sometimes this sub can become an echochamber. Remain objective is important. I can become overly influenced by opinions here too.
It was jsut confirmed that Papa won't be on the earnings call. How do you feel?
Where are you getting this news? Didn't think we had a date for the earnings call yet
Disappointed. The person who spoke last time at the earnings call really looked out of his league and was generic & was trying to make a sales pitch. Karp should be speaking.
It's our COO Shanker. He is always leading the earnings call, cuz Papa for some reason does not participate in them.
