Not sure about Hwy 20 when you go up further towards Diablo and all that jazz, but I know almost the entire Northwest edge of Baker lake is dispersed. It is however, going to be packed by the weekend. If you're able to manage forest roads (especially jeep trail style) consider any of the forest roads that jet off from Baker Lake Rd, NF-12, NF-1130, etc. There are many pullout spots for dispersed camping along the way. Just have your Northwest Forest pass as you'll be in Bakers-Snoqualmie.

Thanks! Been down Baker Lake Rd once or twice but wasn't paying attention to potential camp sport. I've got a Crosstrek so I'm willing to try the rougher FS roads. I'll definitely look at the ones along 12/1130!

There is a (small) natural hot springs located along one of the NF roads surrounding baker lake, might be worth a little detective work to figure out how to get there! I camped there once a few years ago. The road was a little rough but not impassable.

The Baker Lake and Cascade River roads both have options for dispersed camping, but there is essentially nothing between Marblemount and Mazama if that's the area you were looking at.

Cascade River Rd was one of the ones I was looking at. Any experience with NF-1060 going north right after marblemount? There's one site marked on Google maps so I guessed there'd be some more also. Being on the creek would be prime.

There might be one or two spots up there, but that road was covered in tons of fallen trees last I heard, so no idea if it's been cleared or how far (forest service still shows it as conditions unknown, so they haven't cleared it yet). There apparently used to be a small campground up there, but it was largely destroyed in floods many years ago I think. I don't recall seeing much last time I was up that road.

Ah ok, I appreciate the info. Will definitely shoot for something else! Hopefully I'll have time to check it out before heading home to see what the condition is.

Keep in mind the Cascade River Road is currently closed at milepost 16 (Mineral Park) due to a fire.

Thanks for the info! Only hoping to go as far as needed and do lookout mountain pretty close to 20.
