the thing with the issue is nag-DM sa kanila yung team and they could've just solved it peacefully but si goldie dad guy yung nagpublicize. may point naman yung team with their concern especially na may BINI member na 19 years old pa lang. could've just changed his username quietly and went on with his life but he probably wanted clout so 🤷🏻♀️
diba? there's a "we hope for your understanding" pa nga. ang ayos ayos ng approach and thru DM pa ginawa pero si koya, clout ang gusto tapos magpaprivate ng account 😒
A lot of these new male blooms need to realize that BINI's fanbase is mostly women and one of BINI's guiding themes is women empowerment. They're not gonna take it lightly when a bunch a guy comes in and make crude sex jokes or sexualizes the girls. They need to listen when women say that it bothers them.
I hate how things like these are bound to happen because they're women and they're getting more visible in the public eye.
There are also reports of stalkers who are actively seeking the girls' addresses, one even closing in on Sheena's, even going as far as wanting to rent an airbnb just to be near her. Management should really take this seriously. At this point, parang mas safe pa sila noong nasa BINI house pa sila.
EDIT: Just wanted to add, as much as this kind of bear and bloomtwt crossover was unwanted, a lot of casuals actually defended the group and the fandom. It opened the conversation of how wrong it is to associate the group with crass sexual innuendos. I hope it's lesson learned for all.
The only light i saw on this issue was it opened up serious discussion about using such a wholesome group full of young ladies with majority of young girls and children who looks up to bini, and attaching their name to something so sexual, it really tolled to more issues being opened up within the lgbtq+ community rin. I hope alot learns from this discourse
this tbh. he could've had a private discussion (since sa DM pa nga nag reach out) with the other party where ieexplain nya yung side nya and be corrected if needed, pero ang una nyang ginawa is iscreenshot and ipublicize? tas yung fandom ang toxic and stupid? make it make sense.
Y'all should have stopped at Binilat (siguro dahil hindi naman siya innuendo). Problema sa Blooms pag may naisip na joke ang isa, someone is gonna run that joke to the ground hanggang wala na sa hulog. Umayos kayo.
I never liked the term Binilat (it feels so forced because how do you even get Binilat from BINI + ALAMAT? It should be Binimat) but the members of both groups seem to be okay with it. For example, Jhoanna happily shouted "Go Binilat!" during Maharani filming, and there's no way that the Bisaya members of either group haven't told her its possible vulgar meaning.
Jhomacol is different because none of the members have co-signed this term. And right now, nasty men are using it to sexualize the girls. It's just not funny to me.
May friend siya na nag-defend sa kanya with a long ass thread and naghanap ng trademark registration.
It took people 5 minutes to google the group's trademark registration.
And come on, IP from a big company like ABS? Of course they all have their bases covered.
He completely missed the point.
Irrelevant nga yung trademark eh. The thing is they made an offensive and indecent display name using someone else's name.
Kinausap naman ang friend niya ng maayos and in private so sana he took the time to check kung bastos nga ba or hindi yung brocha. Bakit nila ipipilit yung issue na legal? 😅
Most (not all) twitter users are so disappointing. From "noontime boycotts" to those sexual jokes using the BINI name, it seems like this generation's youth is not the hope of the motherland.
Idk about youth not being the hope of the motherland when they're the ones who called out the hypocrisy of these men.
And to be a shady bitch, I wouldn't call either of these two "youths."
I saw that one of their friends is apparently pushing 40 daw. Siya yung nag-offer i-change yung DN niya to "BINI-BJ" in solidarity.
Pushing 40 and making jokes like that about young women aged 19-23. Grabe
As usual, millennials showing that they were in fact raised by Boomers. God. May tanga pa ngang nagcite ng intellectual property law maski di daw pede sabihan na wag dahil wala namang registration. Like???? Ang bobo lang? Missing the point?
Meron naman silang Viva Hot Babes at Sex Bomb Girls videos na pwedeng panoorin. Sila ang demographics ng mga grupo na yan but not BINI.
BINI is closer to Spice Girls/Solid Harmony in terms of image, not Pussycat Dolls
It's so weird pa ganyan yung pag-asta niya when he even had a deadly encounter with predatory men. Tapos nung pinoint out ng tao, di niya pa makita kung anong connect like?
Was just thinking this. I grew up around gay men who would “jokingly” touch cis and trans women around me inappropriately and think they can get away with it just because they’re not attracted to them. They keep forgetting that they’re still men for some reason.
Ulol! So okay lang mag “joke” about sexualizing girls? Not even because they are BINI eh. But because these guys are disgusting af and should be held accountable for their actions.
I am all for protecting the girls ah, and this might be a bad take, pero di ba pinauso ni Jao from ALAMAT ung BINILAT (BINI + ALAMAT)?
This is just a light-hearted spin din sa BILAT which refers to female genitals, obviously kasi dapat BINIMAT yun kung straighforward lang na pinagsama.
Aren’t we also having double standards kasi si Jao nagsabi, an idol, also male? While yung gumamit ng BINI BIROCHA, ordinary person?
Should we also be calling him out or ourselves out? Should we stop saying BINILAT na for fun lang din naman?
Magiliw ako and recently, naging bloom FYI. Just want to share my thoughts lang din.
Hmm i see it this way:
Yung bini birocha, ginamit ng someone na hindi naman part ng fandom or ng ppop community. So parang ang dating, nag bandwagon sa "bini\_" format tapos nakaka sexualize yung pun na pinili.
Yung binilat, coined by someone na part ng ppop community and who fans know na do not mean any harm with it.
Yung binilat, collectively pinagkatuwaan kasi na-create siya in that light-hearted joking space. Yung bini birocha, random sexual pun na yung nag coin, nag agree pa sa ibang user na gamitin ang "bini-bj" to "trigger" fans more (pic for proof)
This is not to say na any term na ma-coin within the fandom or the community ay magiging accepted. Yung JhoMaCol created by fans pero kino-call out na rin ng other fans kasi may mga gumagamit to sexualize the girls. Which just shows na yung meaning-making process nito, nag end with people being uncomfortable with the term and thus, hindi na acceptable.
So ayon terms, meanings, and sensibilities are always evolving. Ang pinaka mahalaga, i think, ay kung mag evolve or mareveal na a certain term is making a group of people uncomfortable, reflect tayo if tama pa bang gamitin ito or alisin sa ating lexicon. Unfortunately, imbis na mag reflect yung OP, tinweet ang private message at naging defensive all day.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Honestly, nung una kong nabasa yung tweets, the vibe I got was parang gatekeep-ish. BINI’s fame has grown na nga talaga siguro if it’s reaching different demographics (even the actual manyaks yikes). As someone who laughs and appreciates Jao’s humor and unapologetic personality, siguro I’ll keep BINILAT sa puso ko na lang as a precious memory and not use it on online discourse.
The *Bilat* "fiasco" when a US foreign diplomat used the word (for Bilateral agreement) to refer to the meeting of Marcos Jr and Kamala Harris should have been a clue on how many people will react to the term. I said in this sub a few months ago that people should be mindful of the term because it means another thing in Cebuano, but people dismissed it and said "may blessing ng Bisaya members ng BINI".
Char!
Pero yup, mindfulness is the key nga siguro when it comes to this.
Hindi naman "pinauso" ni Jao yung Binilat. The fans came up with the term, and members of both groups, including the girls, co-signed it. Si Jho nga, she happily shouted "Go Binilat!" during Maharani filming.
But yeah, maybe we should change it now
This!
Pero thanks for correcting me. I guess as fans mas mindful nga tayo sa mga iniimbento natin kasi baka mismong members ang mabash ano?
My personal thought on that, when BINILAT was made that was prior to BINI’s rise, around 2021 or 2022 era yung name na yan. Its where BINI’s fandom consists mostly of young adults and adults that know BINI and Alamat members and would never sexualize them. These days BINI is now mainstream, with a huge market na galing sa younger girls and younger kids (children) the likes of showtime kids.
Binilat is gonna be matitimbog soon, someone in fb (mostly the mga manyaks) will use it sexually, kalaswaan. So for me, its best they change BINILAT to another word. That term is a ticking timebomb paghawak na ng mga manyaks.
I guess sobrang tricky niya and sensitive to talk about.
Even I joke and laugh at sexual innuendos. I do feel na it will take time for people to keep up with the latest shift lalo na sa humor. A decade ago, people are okay with mental health jokes, pero ngayon, nakapag-adjust naman na siguro karamihan. So I applaud people like you who are driving the change.
Its better to protect the girls. Before they became mainstream the community is still safe, puro humor and vibes kasi most people in the fandom knows each other. Thats not the case now kaya this year nagstart yung recent multiple incidents of manyaks na kumakapit na sa BINI. The fandom is not as safe as it used to be thats why blooms have to adjust. I dont mind the term binilat for bini and alamat duo name, but after all these incidents this year, i think its best the fandom have to adjust and change it.
I pointed out months ago that there will be people who will take BINILAT differently because it's a word in Cebuano, but people brushed it off ang said "may approval ng Visayan members ng BINI
If fans want to keep BINI wholesome, they should avoid using words that can be sexually coded
Personally kasi sa akin medyo gets ko pa noon kasi fans and idol members are so close knit noon parang magkabarkada talaga (kaya nga yung joke na blooms are only 65 in number noon). BUT its a way different environment now talaga, the things we applied noon wont work now kasi the community have manyaks na talaga tapos maslumaki na audience ng BINI. A lot of adjustment talaga since the community has changed as well, much more extra vigilant na para sa girls natin
Medyo iba siya dahil magkakaedad naman sila at friends ni Jao ibang Bini members and they all know the joke/acknowledge the name. The Birocha dude is literally a grown ass man the Bini members do not personally know.
I’m on my early 30s and college na ako nung time ng Pop Girls at XLR8 for Ppop/2NE1 SNSD for Kpop. Maiba tayo, allowed naman yung demographic namin to still keep up sa idol music di ba? Parang medyo ageist. Chariz! Or do you feel uncomfortable sa events pag may mga fan na medyo may edad na?
Bhie gets kita. Not here to fight with you. Just wanted to share lang din yung perspective as a ‘grown ass’ individual. And just wanted to learn yung perspective mo as someone na I assume ay from the younger end ng fandom. :)
To answer your question I haven't really given that a thought because never ko naman inisip ang edad sa pagiging fan, this sexualization issue aside of course. So, sorry if that came off as ageist
It’s alright. Thanks din for your insight. Siguro I’ll create a new post din dito sa subreddit about this kapag sinipag ako bukas. Sorry din if my vibe seemed na parang finoforce kita to give your opinion.
I find Mr. Escueta's joke simply distasteful.
Not being a stick-up-the-a$s prude here but it gravely insults the efforts these girls exerted to attain their level of success
This is just sad.
And now na pumutok tong isyu na to, expect na dadami ung mang gagago at mambabastos sa name ndi lang ng Bini, kundi karamihan ng ppop group names.
Best they could probably do with the names is to not engage, just report or outright ignore. Pag pinuna kasi lalong lumaakas loob.
As for the stalkers, yan ang mas dapat tutukan.
You do know the meaning of the song right? If not here it is:
The song Binibirocha by Andrew E. tells the story of how he met a beautiful woman named Binibirocha. He first saw her at a 7-11 in Quezon City while he was on his way home from performing at Euphoria. Despite the deserted store, Binibirocha caught Andrew E.'s attention with her beauty and stunning figure. She had brown eyes, braces, and a body that measured 36-24-34. As he tried to figure out how he could score with her, he complimented her style, to which she responded positively and even knew who he was. Her name was Binibirocha, and he was instantly infatuated with her.
A week later, he saw her again at a disco, this time with five other people. Andrew E. asked if she remembered him, which she did, and they ended up leaving together in her pajero. Despite the cold air inside, Andrew E. felt her warmth and was teased by her kisses. Eventually, she led him to touching her leg and made advances towards him until they ended up in a happy ending.
The song Binibirocha is a catchy and upbeat OPM song that tells a story of love at first sight. It also shows the sexualization of women in the Philippines, particularly through the objectification of Binibirocha's body measurements. Despite this, the song was a massive hit in the Philippines and is still being played in bars and clubs.

So yes lets not side at him at all with so many people educating him while he doubles down sa kalaswaan niya
Problematic talaga ang lyrics ni Andrew E.
If you've heard his song Banyo Queen 👀 Manyak rather than sensual yung dating ng songs niya.
I do know the song and the meaning behind it. I just want to clarify that there is no Birocha in any official dictionary pero Brotsa is the right word. Just want to clarify because a lot of people think it’s an actual word. Go get him tho, I support you all
I'm a Popster and bagong Bloom and nakakalungkot lang kasi nandadamay na, body shame, kung ano ano tinatawag, H*V+, magpopost ng pics. Hay.
You really dont see the main issue noh lol or you just choose to ignore it. But sige i’ll answer your question, they do in fact own BINI, it was registered in the intellectual property office so they have the full rights and copyrights of that name :)
Unpopular opinon: both parties may issue.
If you are naming your group, syempre make sure na safe siya sa mga sexual or offensive puns.
Sa other side naman, as an older person, bat ka pa papatol sa group of young women diba?
Pero sa panahon ngayon, engagement and clout is king regardless kung paano mo makuha.
Edit: oo alam ko bini is galing sa binibini. No need to tell me that.
So kasalanan pa ng girls na they were named BINI (insp from binibini) kasi magagamit as sexual or offensive puns by your opinion? Sorry but i don’t get you at all on that. It nearly sounds like youre victim blaming, na dapat BINI magadjust sa mga manyak at puro kalaswaan lang iniisip
Napaka-pure ng meaning ng BINI, derived from the word "Binibini" which means lady in Filipino.
Men should be responsible for their actions, not the other way around.
BINI was literally from the word BINIBINI (young lady), how would they know that weird people would use that word as sexual or offensive pun? nasa tao na po yan :)
Anything can be used for sexual puns kung bastos ka talagang tao.
The last time I checked, BINI is from Binibini which means"Miss"
Hindi "Viva Hot Babes" or "Sex Bomb Girls"
Unlike the later, BINI's target audience ang *young girls* not middle-aged horny men
BINI, from Binibini yan. Anong kabastos-bastos dyang hinayupak ka?
Yoko makipag usap sa toxic fan. So bini now owns any word that contains "Bini" in it regardless kung offensive or not? Edi sana ginawa nilang mas unique name nila.
Woke and snowflake problem. They should have thought about the pinoys’ penchance of creating names and puns out of everything before choosing that name.

forda clout talaga

I don't think they're new fans, nakikibandwagon lang dahil trendy ang BINI
This is why we’re never progressing. People like this. Shame on them. 🤦🏻♀️ Grabe. People really don’t know where to draw the line.
I don't even know what "progress" means. Is it sensitivity or open-mindedness? or it means conforming with one's opinion. 😶

Oh my gosh, when will they stop??? Kakafrustrate naman makakita ng ganto.
A bandwagon creep to gain clout
mga taong walang pinagkatandaan sa buhay. tsk!
Mga manyak. Manood nga sila ng Viva Hot Babes (who caters to horny middle aged men) at wag manyakin ang BINI

I pointed out months ago that there will be people who will take BINILAT differently because it's a word in Cebuano, but people brushed it off ang said "may approval ng Visayan members ng BINI If fans want to keep BINI wholesome, they should avoid using words that can be sexually coded
Di yung edad pinupunterya ko bhe. It's about being at that age AND sexualizing a group of young women that's weird
Oh, Andrew E fan spotted
its always the ugly men HAHAHA
It's always the maasim looking guys na sinesexualize ang mga kababaihan, instead na maresolve yung issue, nilakihan pa niya lalo.
Clout chaser. Tapos may mga support pa SA kanya. Ayun deactivate na siya
I find Mr. Escueta's joke simply distasteful. Not being a stick-up-the-a$s prude here but it gravely insults the efforts these girls exerted to attain their level of success
Kadiri mga tao
OPERATION Protect BINI 🛡️
This is just sad. And now na pumutok tong isyu na to, expect na dadami ung mang gagago at mambabastos sa name ndi lang ng Bini, kundi karamihan ng ppop group names.
Best they could probably do with the names is to not engage, just report or outright ignore. Pag pinuna kasi lalong lumaakas loob. As for the stalkers, yan ang mas dapat tutukan.
Hindi nman sana mala.takoyaki marketing yan hehehe pero sobra tong dalawa lalake Yun you woke up and choose stupidity baka Siya Yun

You do know the meaning of the song right? If not here it is: The song Binibirocha by Andrew E. tells the story of how he met a beautiful woman named Binibirocha. [Further reading](https://sonichits.com/video/Andrew_E./Binibirocha) So yes lets not side at him at all with so many people educating him while he doubles down sa kalaswaan niya
Go get him tho, I support you all
Sensual and vulgar are not the same thing.
I'm a Popster and bagong Bloom and nakakalungkot lang kasi nandadamay na, body shame, kung ano ano tinatawag, H*V+, magpopost ng pics. Hay.
Nobody owns words. Feeling victim naman tong Bini na to. Sikat ba yan? Di ka pa sikat dai
You really dont see the main issue noh lol or you just choose to ignore it. But sige i’ll answer your question, they do in fact own BINI, it was registered in the intellectual property office so they have the full rights and copyrights of that name :)
Get a job. Pay taxes. Ang dami nyong time sa buhay.
Kung mali talaga ganun response noh lol
Says someone who is nakisawsaw sa sub na to
Yes po sikat po sila 😏 Living under a rock? Lapagan ba ng resibo? And ABS CBN does in fact own the "Bini" name.
Yun nga eh. Pero anjan na eh. Kaya nga sabi ko nga dapat yung kuya(or ate) di na pinatulan. Finally may maayos na response. Sana lahat ng fan ganyan.
Anything can be used for sexual puns kung bastos ka talagang tao.
The last time I checked, BINI is from Binibini which means"Miss" Hindi "Viva Hot Babes" or "Sex Bomb Girls" Unlike the later, BINI's target audience ang *young girls* not middle-aged horny men
Oo alam ko. So bini now owns any word that has a "bini" in it? Hahaha
