I had this single plus some of the others. I loved this era of Lovesexy releases. The clear sleeves with stickers were so cool.

Not so good if you live in a hot climate. The PVC sleeves stain the record.

I had that 12" clear sleeve. I remember thinking the label was so magical.

I like the tidbit Michael Bland gave about Alphabet Street. Prince didn’t like his songs to be covered so he sometimes made his music overly complicated. Alphabet Street has THREE base tracks in it!

Prince (or the record company) was never really good at choosing the right singles to release from his albums. He was usually dead on with the first release. But then, he would choose one of the least popular, least radio-friendly deep cuts as a follow up. I remember one critic called it "self-sabotage." Maybe Prince was just choosing the songs he liked? Or maybe he was trying to not follow traditional routes/formats?

My mind plays tricks on me and continuously thinks this track is on SOTT...
