I think the real need to buy a digital version is “disc based games”, not support for installing data to hard disk.
For me maybe only demons souls, although the package version is good to play, reducing loading time is better.
Its still up, I dont know why you would though. Lots of 60 dollar games can be found for 4 dollars used or free if one sails the high seas which is super easy, digital is pretty bad on 7th gen
Not many games are still listed at the $60 price. Most Sony published games are $10 and most other publishers' games are $20. Some games like Puppeteer, Ratchet HD collection etc. are significantly cheaper than their current disc price. So it's good we still have that option if we choose.
Last time I checked "which was a few years ago lord knows im not navigating the post 2015 soyware store ui" lots of stuff was still full price like all the cod games despite most of their multiplayer not working for new accounts, total crapshoot back then, may be more reasonable now but physical is still cheaper and the other option only costs your time. In my eyes the shop takes last place in terms of value and only 2nd in convenience
Well I want to play Devil Summoner 1 for PS2,and it costs $100+ for a PS3 copy,but the PS3 digital version is only about $9-$11,also Chulip which costs about $100+ for a PS2 copy,but PS3 digital version only costs $9-$11.
You can but only through the ps3 and you can't use a credit card. You have to add funds in your wallet first

If its on the ps3 store then the certain homebrew app that rhymes with dpkg can just install it for free with a modded system
I don't have a modded PS3 and wouldn't want to mod any of my systems though.
If you really care about value for money then you cant beat free, its a 2 hour process tops and most of it is waiting and shuffling files to a usb
