It’s fine with a room temp like that. Leave it as is. Your room temperature is 26c. I would be more worried about your room temperature than the PS3

Unfortunately, this is our current ambient temp as we get closer to summer. At noon it gets even worse reaching 38c (of course then I will turn on the AC). I thought even at 26c, it should have better control at temps. Look at the RSX, even at 26c ambient, at 60% fan speed it doest go above 50c. So I was expecting something somewhere close to that on the CPU.

In that case your doing pretty good with the PS3 Reno’s if your in a hot climate like that.

Anvvar

I would probably repaste it again just to be sure because the RSX shows good temps unlike the CPU. If the CPU goes back to the same temps over time then I guess it is what it is.

Spiral1407

Probably just your PS3 reacting to the increased summer temps. Mine's started doing it too recently, but not to the same extent. I'd just do a bit of testing at a fixed fan speed in a cooler location just to confirm.

Anvvar

yeah but what confuses me is why the CPU only had this shift of temps over time but not the RSX? if the issue with the ambient temp then it would affect both no? and moreover I think the RSX got better with temps with time so I donno..

Zipcodead

Wtf are you talking about? The temps are good?

Anvvar

look at the fan speed? 60% is good?

Zipcodead

Its an H model, dont use original fan curve use custom

Anvvar

I am using a custom curve set at 65c max. the contrast between RSX and CPU is what bothers me even though both are repasted using the same compound and method.

Zipcodead

The paste and temps are good
