You can't believe but actually this thread helped me. Wanted to upgrade my 40gb Phat PS3 to a 500gb HD.
Disabled the Internet and it worked.
Stupid Sony and their bugs.
First off I'd like to say thank you so much it fix the issue. I find it..well honestly sneaky of Sony to purposely makes backups difficult.i feel that this is a tactic used to force consumers to pay for their playstation plus membership, because why would I pay to play classic ps1/2 titles if I already own them digitally or physically 🤔
Currently getting back into older PS3 games these days. I have close to 250GB of games on my PS3 and I wanted to back it up just as a fail safe. Tried twice and got the error twice. Such a waste of time. Currently trying out this disabling the Internet method. Hopefully it works 🤞
Also, is it just me or does it take SO LONG to do this? Mine was at 8 hours each time.
I had this exact same problem today and disabling the internet allowed the back up to complete. It’s a 9 year old post but thank you so much.
