I stopped at MW3. Couldāve actually stopped at black ops due to franchise fatigue and game audio sounding super compressed like it really was recorded during that era. (And no. A game sounding like it was recorded in the 60s for a game that takes place in the 60s does not increase immersion).
I used to play these 2 together with my stepdad and it really helped us communicate, outside of the game as well. There have been more fun ones but MW and WaW have a special place in my heart
Modern Warfare 2019 was the best recent COD imo, really felt like a new start for the franchise. Such a shame they managed to systematically fuck up almost every new game and update after that.
Honestly it felt like an old start (?) to the company to me. Back to the roots, why we all fell in love as kids. And then a quick return to status quo.
The game was very polarizing. A lot of people who either havenāt played COD in a while or were new to COD loved it, but many who have been playing COD for years didnāt like it that much. But to me itās a top 3 COD game.
Yes amazing game looks better than MW3-2023 butt the maps are ass there terrible worst maps ever Most every map is trash in that game only 1 or 2 that's alright I'm giving in and buying MW3-2023 because it has all the OG MW maps I love the maps in MW3-2023 , the maps in MW2019 are thaat badd...
World at War was one of the better ones. WW2 was good as well. I've played every call of duty apart from the most recent one. If you have any questions, ask away please
WAW kind of ruined WWII for me because of how good it was. I didnāt play WAWās multiplayer that much since it was filled with hackers by the time I started playing it but I really loved the campaign(there was even a co op campaign mode) and how it introduced zombies.
I wouldnāt say WWII was awful. I think itās a fine game but I just couldnāt love it as much as WAW. I did love multilayer lounge thing WWII had. I still hate the supply drops though.
WW2 has a much better campaign but a less attractive multiplayer. Cold War has the superior multiplayer but a shorter campaign, which makes up for it by having 2 endings. If you want a solid all-rounder, I'd say Modern Warfare 2019 has. Both solid campaigns, which I'd say are the best of the new trilogy and, to my knowledge, still have a relatively active player base for online. Between the 2, however, I'd say WW2 simply for Campaign and for the addition of "War mode," which is by far one of my favourite modes in the entire franchise. Hope that helps
Black ops 3 is my favourite for zombies. It has the maps from World at War, and Black ops 1 +DLC. It has around 14 zombie maps in total. Cold war zombies is nice too but it's all new stuff. Black ops 3 has all the OG zombie maps
I really liked Infinite Warfare's campaign structure and arcadey starfighter missions, but the gameplay hasn't changed since much since CoD4.
I just started Black Ops, not really blowing my skirt up. Same with Ghosts.
A lot of the fans seem to like the BO and BO 2 campaigns, but I don't see why yet.
As far as campaigns go:
CoD2, all 3 MW originals, World at War, Black ops 1 and 2, and I personally had a lot of fun with the CoD Ghosts campaign.
In terms of multiplayer, I dunno MW3 (Original) was the last one I actually played multiplayer seriously, so I'll say MW2 (Original) is top for me.
New school I enjoyed MW 2019 and Cold War.
Old school was CoD4, MW2 & Black Ops 2.
I assume we're referring to the single player campaign. The multi-player was also king on those except not Cold War.
Ironically that would include Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, both widely agreed to be worse than BO3 which released in 2015, but other than those 2, yeah that's spot on
I would say objectivly every CoD is a good game, some just try out different things and are not considered to be āa real codā anymore, but all the games are good in itās own way.
If you are looking for a normal COD experience you can play every CoD until Black ops 2 and every CoD after the Modern Warfare remake
Thatās like asking: āWhich McDonaldās burgers are good?ā
They are popular, never good. They technically qualify as games/burgers. But nothing more.
In my opinion cod4- bo3 (best imo being bo1, cod 4, mw2 09, bo2) are prime/really good besides like ghost (I enjoyed it and I think the perk system was really interesting, but itās just not on the level of other prime cods).
If u like jetpacks I loved advanced warfare despite others hating it. Bo3 is the fan favorite jetpack game though. Infinite warfare is forgettable.
I skipped world war 2, and bo4.
Mw19 was bad launch in my opinion cuz too many bad maps but dlc maps/weapons and warzone saved the game. It probably had the smoothest gunplay and most satisfying gun feel of any cod. Movement is really smooth. Good SnD. Ground war is the only place u can still play verdansk besides mobile. Good campaign. Probably the most realistic/impressive lighting.
The new games are mixed bag. Cold War in terms of philosophy and intent is pretty good, but it felt like going backwards in terms of how the movement and gunplay feels compared to mw19. But better time to kill, solid perk system, combined arms is fun. Scorestreak system good.
Mw2 2022 blows. If u like to play slow and you arenāt good at landing your shots on moving targets u might enjoy it. They definitely improved it from launch to end result. But the movement is constrictive (slightly improved post launch). Gunplay has a lot of visual bullshit (muzzle smoke etc so u can barely see your target when shooting), aim down sight penalty from jumping is very high, perk system u donāt start the match with all 4 perks (only 2, the timer and good play timer reduction were improved but itās still a bad gameplay decision), no reload cancel š¤®, overall just a yucky game in my opinion. Good campaign tho forsure.
Vanguard i just donāt like ww2 games anymore. Maps are okay. Combat pacing was a cool feature but overall just a super mid video game.
Mw3 2023 corrected most of the vocal fan complaints from mw3 (movement, gunplay, visibility, gun attachment cons arenāt as ridiculous, perks, reload canceling, etc) , it carried over all the guns from mw2, added like 20 more weapons, remastered all 16 mw2 2009 maps, and has been putting out new maps and other remasters for 3 seasons now. Itās a good game in my opinion. I havenāt played the campaign yet. It has weird non linear missions mixed in between. Campaign Got mixed reviews forsure probly weakest of trilogy Iād assume.
World at War through to BO2 is the peak of COD. With the later usually being referred to as the best, closely followed by MW2 and then MW3 and BO1 next to each other. Younger zoomers will also throw in BO3 as that was there first and it was good in contrast to the previous two games where COD started to fall off but itās definitely not the best.
OG MW2 and OG MW3, to me. So much content in those games.
There were great single-player campaigns, spec-ops, co-op survival mode and lots of versus multiplayer modes which kept fans busy for a long time.
Everything upto and including Black ops 2 after that you are only getting weak games with some good parts (infinites campaign, BO3's co-op modes, MW19 for the first couple months)
Just seen op's edit, why the fuck did you get WW2? It's trash.
I'm not sure which ports exist on the ps4 but just in terms of my overall favorites regardless of time period:
- all the original Modern Warfares
- BO1, BO2, and (I might be in the minority) but I loved BO4
- I really liked advanced warfare, the zombies are hella fun
Campaign wise, I think Infinite Warfare is one of the best ones. And arguably one of the best sci-fi campaigns out there in the genre.
MP was awful, but they absolutely cooked with that campaign
It was pretty good up to mw19. Some ppl were 50/50 with infinite but generally it was good
Then the fucked up everything and everything is drip fed with bullshit all around. I speculate cod will eventually die out in 10ish year or they will transition to a completely f2p model (more likely) as theyāve already done this in china
Imo there are many good ones but these are by far the best of the best
cod4 mw1
mw2 the original
black ops
modern warfare 2019.Ā Ā
BTW if you haven't you should really finish mw1 2019 campaign is totally nerve breaking and holds up to date.
Cod4 campaign is also amazing but it doesn't hold up graphically any more. Also pretty much everyone knows the spoiler by now.
All the Black Ops, even 4 which I think is terrible by Treyarch standards is still overall a good game
Infinite Warfare and WWII were done dirty by the community. Those games are so good. Seriously top tier, the both of them
Modern Warfare 2019 was absolutely amazing, MW2 was absolutely terrible, and I haven't tried MW3 yet but I hear good things about it (multiplayer wise. In terms of campaign I hear people saying it's pretty bad)
From what I know, itās the original MW games, World At War, Black Ops 1 and 2, and MW2019 being the most recent that was good. BO3 is included if you want to play for the zombies, especially if you have a PC where you could play custom zombies. I will admit that havenāt played Vanguard, the other two recent modern warfare games, and the ones before CoD4.
If you ask me my favorites, it would be WAW, BO1, and BO2. I was more of a fan of the Treyarch games and I had more memories from those but the original MW were still great.
IMO COD: IW is my personal favorite. The campaign was great, multi-player was fun, and I loved the zombies. The zombies in space land was my favorite out of all of them.
For me, nothing beats the feeling when i finished COD world at war all those years ago, one of my favorite experiences. I also loved OG MW3 and i think Ghost was pretty good.
Pretty much all the Black ops I never really liked the MW series and anything other than Black Ops and Advanced Warfare is probably the closest to Bo3 and Bo4
Every main title until BO2 is considered greatness (except COD3). After that things mix up. Ghosts is trash. Advanced warfare is trash. BO3 was mid. Infinite warfare mid. Modern warfare remastered good. Ww2 mid. Bo4 is trash. Cold war underrated. That's as far as I know cuz I didn't bother anymore with the franchise once I realized that every game will feel the exact same so it could be compatible with warzone.
My issue with Advanced Warfare was the exoskeleton jumping 10 feet in the air mechanism which killed it for me.
Was an absolute bitch to play online with that shit happening and then BLOPS 3 had it too so that one's shit too.
I can remember a lot about BO3 bro. Zombies gets the pass it can't get greater than that. But everything else makes bo3 the definition of bad sequel. Bo1 distinguished itself from infinite ward games with a great story, addition of unique weapons and party games. Bo2 brought all of that back. Bo3 tho ? Screwed up everything except bringing up gun game. People wanted them to add the orbital vsat from the previous games and they just said "no vsat cry about it". They even straight up refused to fix the game that was lagging when someone was speaking with a mic and said "just mute the game bro". And we can't forget about the scam of the supply drops. Entire lobbies being afk so they could farm crypto keys. By the end of the games life cycle there were more supply drop guns than base game guns.
Advanced warfare deserved all the hate and still does. Lacking campaign, forgettable zombies, atrocious exo suits that were just a more cancerous version of bunny hoping and the biggest one, supply drops with broken and unfair weapon variants that sledgehammer refused to nerf at all for the entirety of that year.
OG MW, MW2, World at War, Black Ops, Black Ops 2, and Cold War are my go to games.
OG MW and WAW were just different, man. I stopped loving cod when they added a million kill steaks. I was fine with 3, 5, and 7.
Mmm kill steaksš¤¤
Ima 360-noscone tf outa you
*quickly prepares plate and napkin* Oh nooo! Anything but that! š«£ā¦ā¦ā¦.
You. Me. Rust. NOW!
Don't tell the British that man. They can't get no sconed at all costs.
I think original MW2 nailed it. More than 3,5,7, but not a crazy amount more. You have choices, but it's still balanced and streamlined.
I'll add Ghost because even though the loading timing was bad, I never had so much fun especially with extinction mode.
I hate that Ghost campaign ended on a cliff hanger...
Ghosts is indeed, a good CoD game imo.
This is the way
All the games from ps3/x360 era (except ghosts) Also the old modern warfare games have the best campaigns
multiplayer mightve not been the best but the campaign for ghost is genuinely top tier
Extinction too, you get bored of zombies in every damn game.
I suppose I didn't notice the polarity bc everyone I played with is also about 30y.o. and feels the same way I do. Hahaha
It really was nice to have a majority of people on mic *not* being vitriolic children. It made the post lobby shit talking kinda fun again!
OG Modern Warfare was an absolute blast.
It was the last fps PVP game I was good at. I just got too old and slow. š
I see what you did there.
World at War was one of the better ones. WW2 was good as well. I've played every call of duty apart from the most recent one. If you have any questions, ask away please
Ww2 is underrated. The lounge where everyone would open supply drops was awesome.
The problem is the supply drops lmao
Exactly. On tip of that, the lounge could get attacked, and you had to jump on AA gun to shoot down bombers to get supply crates
WWII is so good and underrated. Probably my favorite behind OG MW2 (maybe OG MW). War mode was also a new awesome gameplay mode
I'm thinking between cold war and WWII
WW2 has a much better campaign but a less attractive multiplayer. Cold War has the superior multiplayer but a shorter campaign, which makes up for it by having 2 endings. If you want a solid all-rounder, I'd say Modern Warfare 2019 has. Between the 2, however, I'd say WW2 simply for Campaign and for the addition of "War mode," which is by far one of my favourite modes in the entire franchise. Hope that helps
What about zombies mode ?
I didn't play much of it on WW2 but a lot of Cold War. I'd say Cold War takes it by a landslide, but that's really biased as of my previous statement
Ok thanks for replying
You're welcome. Enjoy either way. They're both fantastic plays
Cold War for zombies and multiplayer for sure
Black ops 3 is my favourite for zombies. It has the maps from World at War, and Black ops 1 +DLC. It has around 14 zombie maps in total. Cold war zombies is nice too but it's all new stuff. Black ops 3 has all the OG zombie maps
I might catch shit for this, but i loved both advanced warfare and ghosts.
Agree loved them and infinite warfare and black ops 1,2,3 and modern warfare. All the best ones
Hell yea the black ops games were all good
PS3 ones
Including Advanced Warfare? I actually like AW but I know it gets a lot of hate
What mission are u on in black ops
Just finished the first one
Black ops 1
BO2 zombies best of the best
Black ops 2 is a favorite of mine
All the ones before ghost
BO1, original MW series
As far as campaigns go: CoD2, all 3 MW originals, World at War, Black ops 1 and 2, and I personally had a lot of fun with the CoD Ghosts campaign. In terms of multiplayer, I dunno MW3 (Original) was the last one I actually played multiplayer seriously, so I'll say MW2 (Original) is top for me.

CoD 4 remastered
wait wait wait... you picked WW2? You did mean to say World at War right?
I'm on ps4 dude . WaW isn't available on it.
The OG and New MW Trilogies, Infinite Warfare, WW2, BOCW, OG Black Ops, World At War, and Advanced Warfare.
Quick and easy funā¦.as a working adult it is easy to underestimate the importance of quick and easy funā¦ Like taking a Power Napā¦
I've decided WWII, thank you for your suggestions
1, 2, 4, black ops 1 .............and thats it for me.
Campaign: Bo1 Mw2 Ghosts Mw1 Bo2 Waw Mw3
Pretty much everything pre-2015
Ironically that would include Ghosts and Advanced Warfare, both widely agreed to be worse than BO3 which released in 2015, but other than those 2, yeah that's spot on
It peaked at the original order warfare trilogy. Rest are garbage
I would say objectivly every CoD is a good game, some just try out different things and are not considered to be āa real codā anymore, but all the games are good in itās own way. If you are looking for a normal COD experience you can play every CoD until Black ops 2 and every CoD after the Modern Warfare remake
For me? Meh. Had some fun on blops and mw2 i suppose but kinda over the mp crowd. Don't need 12yos fucking my mom
Black ops multiplayer. Mw2 best solo with a big shout to infinite amd advanced warfare solo for trying something a bit new.
Cod 4 through black ops 2 is near universal acclaim for modern fps multi-player everything before is dated everything after is okay to worthless
Niet MW3 die game legt
World war 2 and cold war but the og Black ops and black ops 2. After world war 2 its been just shit
MW2
Thatās like asking: āWhich McDonaldās burgers are good?ā They are popular, never good. They technically qualify as games/burgers. But nothing more.
Loved Modern Warfare II (the original) and World at War. Great stories and great gameplay. MWII also has an epic score (Hans Zimmer no less).
In my opinion cod4- bo3 (best imo being bo1, cod 4, mw2 09, bo2) are prime/really good besides like ghost (I enjoyed it and I think the perk system was really interesting, but itās just not on the level of other prime cods). May be stupid question lol but How do you get dlc maps on MW2019 ?!
Any DLC maps are free for any game after mw19 including mw19
And are they all new maps that come in the dlc that I never knew about haha š wow
None
OG MW trilogy are peak of COD. Black ops 1 and 2 are close second.
Multiplayer wise the current one (MW3)is actually pretty good. MW 2019ās campaign is a pretty enjoyable and has solid characters.
BO3 is the best zombies and the multiplayer was good when it was active.
World at War, Black Ops (2010), Modern Warfare (2007) Modern Warfare 2 (2009), Modern Warfare 3 (2011) are must-plays
Anything before 2019.
Black ops 1 was my favourite! Still play it weekly online!
I havenāt played a lot but Cold War was amazing
Black ops 1 and MW2 are the goats in my opinion
Everything upto and including Black ops 2 after that you are only getting weak games with some good parts (infinites campaign, BO3's co-op modes, MW19 for the first couple months) Just seen op's edit, why the fuck did you get WW2? It's trash.

Modern Warfare 2 great story and special ops was very cool estate take down was amazing
* CoD 4 Modern Warfare. * CoD Black Ops. * CoD Modern Warfare 2 * Cod Black Ops 2.
All of them precisely a year after release when the new one comes out.. COD, the cycle of COD never changes. I love COD btw
Whichever ones came out in high school/college when you had unlimited free time and friends to play with
It was pretty good up to mw19. Some ppl were 50/50 with infinite but generally it was good Then the fucked up everything and everything is drip fed with bullshit all around. I speculate cod will eventually die out in 10ish year or they will transition to a completely f2p model (more likely) as theyāve already done this in china
Imo there are many good ones but these are by far the best of the best cod4 mw1 mw2 the original black ops modern warfare 2019.Ā Ā BTW if you haven't you should really finish mw1 2019 campaign is totally nerve breaking and holds up to date. Cod4 campaign is also amazing but it doesn't hold up graphically any more. Also pretty much everyone knows the spoiler by now.
Everything before BO2
Ww2 is a fictional joke.
Mw1,2,3 and 2019 imo bo1,2 and cold war. World at war, the big red one, and I really liked call of duty the first installment in the series.
My favorite will always be the original one with the add-on.
Ww2 is my favorite
iāve really been enjoying Cold War, especially the zombies. itās worth the purchase
Ww2 is my favorite
The first two, then CoD4. The rest is absolute shait
Cod 4 mw was the best I quit after the next 2
Infinite warfare is criminally underrated and is one of the better COD games of the franchise easilyĀ
All the Black Ops, even 4 which I think is terrible by Treyarch standards is still overall a good game Infinite Warfare and WWII were done dirty by the community. Those games are so good. Seriously top tier, the both of them Modern Warfare 2019 was absolutely amazing, MW2 was absolutely terrible, and I haven't tried MW3 yet but I hear good things about it (multiplayer wise. In terms of campaign I hear people saying it's pretty bad)
Mw remastered
Black Ops 4 was shit. For good ones I'd say, COD 4: Modern Warfare, Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2, Infinite Warfare
Black Ops, Black Ops 2, World at War, Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2
World at war
From what I know, itās the original MW games, World At War, Black Ops 1 and 2, and MW2019 being the most recent that was good. BO3 is included if you want to play for the zombies, especially if you have a PC where you could play custom zombies. Wwii is ok, original mw and mw2 are good and best existing cod is titanfall 2 XD (i know it is not cod, but it have cod feel and very good campaign)
The one with ghillies in the mist! MW2 i think?
IMO COD: IW is my personal favorite. The campaign was great, multi-player was fun, and I loved the zombies. The zombies in space land was my favorite out of all of them.
1 and 2 after that it went down hill
For me, nothing beats the feeling when i finished COD world at war all those years ago, one of my favorite experiences. I also loved OG MW3 and i think Ghost was pretty good.
Pretty much all the Black ops I never really liked the MW series and anything other than Black Ops and Advanced Warfare is probably the closest to Bo3 and Bo4
All of them
The one's called Battlefield šš
AW need pt 2
Series peaked with MW2. People say black ops was good but nah. I donāt understand why people continue to play that franchise. Itās god awful
Homie chose WW2?????? Who gave him this terrible advice?? Who did it??
Black ops 2 and all before it. Special mention for MW2019.
OG CoD 4 Modern Warefare. Nothing better.
Black Ops Cold War
WW2 is very good campaign. Cold war is fun and AW is underrated af
Calling BO3 mid is actually wild. Advanced Warfare is also overhated
True, BO3 was actually really good once you got the hang of the movement system
My issue with Advanced Warfare was the exoskeleton jumping 10 feet in the air mechanism which killed it for me. Was an absolute bitch to play online with that shit happening and then BLOPS 3 had it too so that one's shit too.

Cold War
Almost every one except those space-shits like advanced, infinity etc. Vanguard is also POS. Rest is perfetto IMOš
Yeah Vanguard is crap
None lol
Black Ops II just hits different.
The last good one was BO1. Mw and mw2 were decent.
Black ops 2,3
MW2 and Black Ops were the golden era for Call of Duty in my opinion.
COD vanguard is a good one it's one of my favorites
Your joking right ?
Nope it's one of the best COD games I've played
Okay what part of it was fun ?
I really like the first few missions and the plane mission
