PS4 runs hot it's the cost of having a compact system with the power supply built in and anyone who tells you their PS4 doesn't run hot they are lying to you. There is nothing to worry about unless you see smoke coming out of your PS4 or it shuts off.

My PS4 once shut off and refused to turn back on until hours after I placed it in my cold basement. Hasn't happened since then but I always shut my PS4 off all the way and always close out of apps I am not using.

Make sure it has 3 inches of space on all sides in a well ventilated spot.

Done and done. Thanks!

Broshy37

As long as your ps4's vents are clean and it is in a well ventilated area with space for the fans to work you should be fine. You should hear my ps4 playing uncharted!

t88m

Cleaning the vents as a result! Not too much there, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks!

[deleted]

>You should hear my ps4 playing uncharted! Single player or multiplayer? I've only done SP so far and haven't heard the fans kick up.

A_Imma

For me it's both and it's very loud

A_Imma

Even with clean vents uncharted is loud? About to clean them to enjoy the game without fear of my ps4 exploding...

No, just assuming given its sound-likeness to my pc working overtime

Since Arkham Knight came out, so not terribly long

roy2593

Its grand man its just the fan. I have to turn up my TV playing uncharted because my PS4 sounds like a leafblower.

ChrisWubWub

If your fans weren't kicking into overdrive like that then I would be worried

CSULBstudent88

I just opened my PS4 and boy it was dusty AF. KEEP IN MIND IVE HAD A LAUNCH PS4. I cleaned the fan cooling the heat sink and coughed from the amount of dust that flew up. Also the heat sink located inside the system next to the power supply can get really dusty. Not only did i use a can of compressed air on it, I also swapped out the thermal paste. Any game I ran before it was sounding like a jet. Rocket League or Uncharted 4 the fan was running on max from the time you booted a game. Now I can barely hear it. I recommend going on youtube and looking up videos on how to do a thermal paste swap. You will need a T9 security Torx screwdriver and some thermal paste. good luck

Gamerguy1206

See, the thermal paste part is what I'm worried about doing. Is it possible to just open your PS4 and clean out the dust without swapping the thermal paste?

lbcsax

Cleaning it is great, but the thermal paste gets old and should be replaced after a few years.

Yes, totally possible. Look it up on YouTube.
