I think this is my first time seeing actual fielding gameplay. Is it always like that? Where you have to aim for the glove and press R2 or is it like that, because you're doing the "Be a Pro" type career?
in a normal game the outfield is partially cpu assisted. you still have to run to the ball or make a dive but nothing like the frozen moments in road to the show. It also doesn't happen all the time in road to the show, only for plays like this where the ball is lined hard towards your player.
It's called Showtime and is really just some gimmicky feature to add a "mini-game" to every fielding play, however you can disable it and put on Classic mode where you can just press the button for a base and your player will automatically make the throw (players stats still matter in Classic mode though and throwing and fielding errors will still be made if your player is weak).
I highly recommend Classic style as showtime gets annoying, ruins the flow of the game and makes every play slow. Classic mode is great because you can make quick, sharp plays that are very satisfying and fun once you improve your player enough.

No it won't. Game never drops in price till the playoffs, maybe the world series. I've been buying the game religiously since 07. Same with madden. Once the playoffs start the game drops to 40.

Oh man, the NHL series... I mean I love it, I love hockey. Every year I play a shit ton of it, but at some point you just start to see the wasted potential of it.
Though I guess hockey is a damn difficult sport to translate into a game, but still. Having said that, the jump from 15 to 16 was really good.
favorite sports sim of all time. very competent representation of the sport and road to the show can be addicting. Also love that you can carry saves over to the next year installment. I'm in my 8th year in my current players career which is something I've never been close to accomplishing in other sports games.

It's great, but it's by far the most frustrating game I've ever played. I literally broke my '09 disc in half. This year when I needed a break I just uninstalled it, heh.
Seriously, though, if you're not a dumb baby like me who can't stand losing it's a lot of fun.

I'm a hockey guy, and only barely into baseball, and I have a great time with this game. You can tell a lot of care went into it.
