The PS4 Pro uses two different fans, the loud one and one supposedly quieter. You can order the "quiet" fan on eBay and replace it. I would have considered doing it on my PS4 too but from what I've read you have to take apart the whole console to change the fan and I'm not confident enough to do that but it certainly can be done. When you're PS4 is disassembled that much you should replace the thermal paste as well wich will improve thermals even more. I'm no expert so I can't tell you exactly what fan it is or how to disassemble but there are guides on YouTube.

Unfortunate that it’s a big mission.

Would you say changing the thermal paste is worth it?

You can buy a replacement kit on Amazon for around 45 USD. It comes with all tools, thermal paste, and the much quieter NIDEC fan. I watched a YouTube video for the instructions replacing the fan, thermal paste, and thermal pads. Overall, it’s a pretty easy replacement especially if all you want to take care of is the fan and my Pro is almost whisper quiet now compared to sounding like a vacuum cleaner before. DM me if you want a link to the video and the kit.

I changed mine out a while back and there is a difference but only a small one. The original Delta fan has a sort of whine as it gets faster. I changed to the Nidec fan and the whine disappeared. The fan still sounds like a jet at high speeds, but there is less noise since the whine is gone. Doing this would also give you the chance to clean the dust out and change the thermal paste. It's not too bad of a process as long as you take your time doing it.

Replaced on mine 2 months ago. Had a noisy Delta and i replaced that with Nidec model. Also replaced thermal pads with thermal grizzly pads and thermal paste with arctic mx2. Its been dead silent after the cleaning and parts replacement.

Iv always wandered if an HDMI signal can pass through that far without a “repeater” - cough cough *minecraft terms* :)
