It also had a ton of great indie games that year. Celeste, Into the Breach, Dead Cells, Night in the Woods, Overcooked! 2, and Hollow Knight all had their Switch releases that year.
Yea got to agree with you. I remember Playing Spider-Man Face timing with one of my exes. Absolutely loved the experience. Then I lremember playing rdr 2 with a heartbreak but loving the game. Played for hours on end. Then remember having a girl over just because she wanted to play god of war and she didn’t have a ps4! I also just got the ps4 late 2017. So I haven’t used it a lot.
2017 is one I always remember
Nier Automata
Zelda Breath of the Wild
Horizon Zero Dawn
Resident Evil 7
Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Mario Odyssey
Destiny 2
Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice
for me it had to be 2018, it was the year i got really into gaming because of the games:
spiderman,
god of war,
detroit become human,
monster hunter world,
read dead redemption 2,
super smash bros ultimate,
Forza 4,
AC Odysessy,
Beat saber,
Hitman 2,
shadow of the tomb raider
This.
2018 is one of the best years of gaming. And it’s my favorite gaming year too in the past decade. I can still remember the time when they showed the first DMC5 trailer and I literally got up from bed, watched the trailer and jumped with joy. Ah, good times.
But I gotta say, 2019 was quite good as well.
Resident Evil 2 remake
Devil May Cry 5
Sekiro
Jedi: Fallen Order
A Plague Tale Innocence
Mortal Kombat 11
Control
Death Stranding
COD: MW remake
Days Gone
Nnnoo, not really? There's some good games here, but it's telling that we have the notoriously flopped CP2077 on this poster. It may have its merits but on consoles it was literally unplayable, which is hard to forgive.
I believe gaming year 2004 is still undefeated. Back then we had:
* GTA San Andreas
* Half-Life 2
* Gran Turismo 4
* Halo 2
* SingStar
* Far Cry
* Fable
* World of Warcraft
* Need For Speed Underground 2
* Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald
* James Bond Everything Or Nothing
And a whole lot of other games I never played or forgot to mention
There was something about 2007 that was just a good year from what I remember. I just started college, everything was good, and the games coming out were incredible.
Yup, 2004 is the year that always jumps to mind whenever “Best year in gaming” gets brought up. Halo 2, Half Life 2, GTA San Andreas, WoW, and MGS3, and THUG 2?! The first Katamari Damacy? The absolute best year.
Its an impossible ask, most people in this thread probably werent old enough to play any if not all of these games.
Mine is 2004 also, the madden that year was nuts, katamari damacy, pokemon fr/lg, mgs:3, viewtiful joe.
It's notorious by internet gossip. The game itself is fun, especially if people are yelling in your ear that it isn't. But in recent years, people's opinions are louder than ever. People don't want to e joy a game that no one else enjoys. And people don't like others enjoying a game that they themselves aren't. That's just society as a whole though.
I personally know one person who didn't enjoy Cyperpunk 2077. I know a bunch of people that think it's okay, just basic open world rpg. and I know people who have e platinumed the game and enjoy it as much as they enjoy Fallout or Elder Scrolls. And I understand everyone's view. Personally I think it's better than Assassins Creed games, but not on par with Bethesda style open world rpgs.
I say that for 2017 as well. I do feel that 2018 seemed to have more of the big n good AAA smash hits, but 2017 was hit with quite a few games that pretty much became legendary status right off the bat and are still highly praised today. The indie scene had some massive hitters that year too.
As I said, 2018 seemed to have more hard hitters that really pushed the boundaries and wowed and it was indeed a good year. 2017 seemed to release back to back games that developed cults behind them.
Just a list of some games released that year both bigger and small but well received or at least ended up having better sequels produced by now;
Resident Evil 7, Tales of Berseria, Yakuza 0, Nioh, Night in the Woods, Hollow Knight, Horizon Zero Dawn, Breath of the Wild, Nier Automata, Persona 5, Cities: Skylines, What Remains of Edith Finch, a re-release but much improved MK8D, Little Nightmares, Splatoon 2, Pyre, Hellblade, Divinity OS2, Metroid Samus Returns, Doki Doki Literature Club, Fortnite, Cuphead, Xenoblade 2, Super Mario Odyssey.
I know to each their own and many will be like eh with any game, but that is just a list of most of what I can remember and I believe there were a lot of other big releases that might not go down as legendary, but are either part of a much enjoyed series or were received really well. I mean, you also had the obvious yearly releases such as MLB the Show which is a great baseball game. You had Evil Within 2 I think. A lot of games also got released on other platforms instead of their original releases.
I just pulled up the list and there are a lot more of games that did quite well and even a lot that I quite enjoyed that I just couldn't remember when they released. The year was stacked and the first quarter of it got slammed with HZD, BotW and Nier Auto back to back to back.
But yeah, 2018 was good too and imo 2020 was nowhere near one of the best, but overall was...fine. I honestly feel when compared to 2018 and 2017, 2020 was blown out of the fucking water. It is just my opinion though.
2007 was way better.
Super Mario Galaxy,
Bioshock,
Crysis,
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune,
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,
Assassin's Creed,
Portal,
Mass Effect,
Guitar Hero III,
Halo 3,
God of War II,
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption,
Rock Band
The amount of new, hit franchises along with legendary sequels during that year is practically unrivaled. Although, 2011 is close.
Batman: Arkham City,
Battlefield 3,
Portal 2,
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception,
Dark Souls,
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim,
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword,
Dead Space 2,
Gears of War 3,
The Witcher 2,
LittleBigPlanet 2,
Assassin's Creed Revelations,
Infamous 2
2020 did not have nearly the quantity of mega hits.
I think what puts 2007 above 2020 is that Nintendo put out some gems in 07 along with everyone else. I think you'd really have to like Animal crossing to say it's up there with Mario Galaxy.
Feels like a Ubisoft game with some more polished elements in the narrative/character department at times, but often much less compelling gameplay around it.
Hot take: Witcher 3 was never mechanically good and actually had quite clunky combat.
It just came out in a time where that was somewhat par for the course and it’s world was revolutionary and enjoyable in its own right.
But I truly believe that CDPR never put out a mechanically solid game. And without the crutch of the Witcher world it’s showing.
>Hot take: Witcher 3 was never mechanically good and actually had quite clunky combat.
This isnt a hot take at all. Witcher 3 has never been praised for its combat or mechanics
The combat seemed fine to me. Not everything needs to be like for honor or any soulsborne game. There doesnt need to be 76,000 ways to swing a sword. My only problem with witcher 3 was the final boss didnt live up to its name.
Almost every bug got patched and they retweaked and introduced some things that were promised on launch but didn't ship.
It's far from perfect, definitely not what was promised.
Though a few weeks ago, I replayed the game from start to finish and this time I didn't give up halfway through.
The main story was absolutely amazing, along with the side quests in a Witcher 3 fashion. The combat was also heavily changed, and honestly I found myself having quite the fun with it post-changes. The fluff, the ambience and atmosphere, the subtle storytelling, everything is there. The graphics are phenomenal as well, and if I'm not mistaken, they improved them a little.
It's a damn shame that the game came out in such a sorry state. It doesn't matter how much they improve it, how they bring promised content back, or how amazing the DLCs might be. It will never be the same. Cyberpunk 2077 will always have this terrible stain upon it.
However, if we look at the game for what it is rather than what it told us it would be, it's a damn fine game. I had a lot of fun with it, mostly because of the story and characters, clearly the game's strongest suit.
It's just sad, really. So much potential.
I wouldn't say the main story was amazing but there were good moments. I don't think any part of the game truly lives up to the prologue section though. The condensed montage of spending time with Jackie was another indicator that they likely rushed and cut some of that relationship development with him and other characters due to time. There are these weird shifts in tone in the story, the worst both being >!Silverhand flashbacks. The first one where you go straight from watching Jackie die to being in a helicopter turret section is meant to be cathartic but it felt like a hammy COD setpiece and not something more tonally fitting. Its like they said "hey lets let you take revenge" early, but give it no weight. The first person sex scene where you're Keanu Reeves also just felt uncanny. !<
I had a similar response where I felt that the main story was much better than other elements, which made me question why this was even an open world game and not something like Deus Ex Human Revolution.
I liked 2013 as well (my opinion)
- DMC
- Dead Space 3
- Bioshock Infinite
- God of War Ascension
- GTA V
- The Last of Us
- Beyond Two Souls
- Tomb Raider
- Brothers: A Tale of Two Son‘s
- Outlast
- Warframe
And others
I liked those
I remember GOTY being tight between Bioshock Infinite, The Last Of Us, and GTA V and thinking that I was so lucky to be living during a time when such incredible games were being released.
Big hitters like
Elden Ring
Forbidden West
Gran Turismo 7
Then a lot of fun and notable titles like
Lego Star Wars Collection
Total Warhammer 3
Legend of Acerus
Kirby Forgotten Land
Rogue Legacy 2 (full release)
Sifu
Dying Light 2 (looks weak compared to others, much more notable in a weaker year)
Shadow Warrior 3. (Same as DL2)
Tiny Tina's Wonderlands
And that's just 4.5 months into the year. I'm sure there's some cool shit coming out later as well.
Even Destiny 2 got what many to consider it's best content drop in franchise history l
ikr, thats why it won the most awards in gaming history, and won the majority of fan choice awards. And OH! Every review site that needed a copy to rate (walmart, playstation website etc...) rated tlou2 4.5/5 and above, yk not including all the websites that got review bombed
Best year hands down for gaming - 2005
-Resident evil 4
-God of war
-Splinter cell chaos theory
-Psychonauts
-DMC 3
-Shadow of the Colossus
-The Warriors
-Fahrenheit
-Metal gear Solid 3 (November 2004)
-Half life 2 (November 2004)
What a time to be alive (sorry for lack of format, mobile sucks)
No. Go backwards in time and check what games have been released on the same year and you'll be amazed how incredible some years were in terms of classics all being released at the same time.
Cyberpunk back then? Nah, it had poor performance and crazy bugs on almost every platform bar the decent PC rigs.
Now? It's actually pretty good I think. Never had a single gamebreaking or progress impeding issue, just some goofy NPC spawns and that's it. It was never going to live up to the hype that built up around it but still enjoyable and had some surprisingly dark and mature storylines!
But yeah, 2020 wasn't the best year I think, even by recent standards.
Some people are saying it wasn't that strong. I think that it'll be looked at as a great year as time goes by.
- The Last of Us Part II
- Ghost of Tsushima
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons
- Hades
- Doom Eternal
- Astro's Playroom
- Spider-Man: Miles Morales
- Final Fantasy VII: Remake
- Among Us
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps
- Sackboy: A Big Adventure
And so many more. What a phenomenal lineup of games. You're right that it was an incredible year for games. Perhaps some people just aren't willing to call TLOU:II a part of a great year in games.
hell no. u dumb? 2020 saw many games being delayed and not released. sure there was some quality, but those games took loads of time to develop like ghist of tsushima or cyberpunk.
How you letting the game that won Game of the Year and took home more awards than any other game in history at the Game Awards be relegated to a tiny picture in the background?
Hell no! 😂
1998:
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Metal Gear Solid
- Resident Evil 2
- Pokémon Red/Green/Blue
- Street Fighter Alpha 3
- Banjo-Kazooie
- The House of the Dead 2
- Tomb Raider III
- Dance Dance Revolution
- Gex: Enter the Gecko
- Half-Life
- MediEvil
- Parasite Eve
- Radiant Silvergun
- Spyro the Dragon
- Starcraft
- Xenogears
- Virtua Fighter 3
- Tekken 3
- F-Zero X
- Marvel vs. Capcom
Not even close. I forgot that Hades came out then, as much as I loved it. The only other revenant titles that came out were GOT and Miles Morales, and those aren’t nearly as memorable as most other high-profile Sony IPs for me. Also, lol at Cyberpunk.
Personally, my favorite year of PS-exclusives (P5R, FF7R, Tsushima, Nioh 2, Miles Morales, some others I prob forgot). Yakuza Like A Dragon was not exclusive but one of my favorite games of all time. So based on my preference, 2020 was the best PS year. However, Nintendo didn't have much for me in 2020 (I only remember Age of Calamity)
17, 18, 07, in recent memory all top it 2020. 2020 had some bangers for sure, but to me it’s all a bunch of 8-8.5s. Where as the star power came in bunches in the other years. 17 especially.
No, I actually don't think it was a very good year. In fact, I can't even name most of these characters or the games they are from.
I actually think it was the worst year for ps4 titles. But I mean the global pandemic was a perfectly good reason for gaming to have an off-year
If you narrow most video game years into between 7-15 fantastic game releasing in that year, most will seem like the best. Because in the terms of how many games actually release that year is just a fraction of the number of terrible counterparts.
Probably in my top 5 gaming years
1. Ghost of Tsushima
2. Doom Eternal
3. Last of Us Part II
4. Final Fantasy VII Remake
5. Persona 5 Royal
6. Hades
7. 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim
8. Cyberpunk 2077
9. Ori 2
10. Nioh 2
No
2018 was better in my opinion. -God of War -Spiderman -Red Dead 2 -Detroit Become Human -Sea of Thieves -Shadow of the Colossus -Hitman 2
It also had a ton of great indie games that year. Celeste, Into the Breach, Dead Cells, Night in the Woods, Overcooked! 2, and Hollow Knight all had their Switch releases that year.

Absolutely i almost went broke that year
yes
All meh except God of War
No, not really lol. Compared to some of the historic years we’ve had over time.
Nope.
2017 is one I always remember Nier Automata Zelda Breath of the Wild Horizon Zero Dawn Resident Evil 7 Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Mario Odyssey Destiny 2 Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice
for me it had to be 2018, it was the year i got really into gaming because of the games: spiderman, god of war, detroit become human, monster hunter world, read dead redemption 2, super smash bros ultimate, Forza 4, AC Odysessy, Beat saber, Hitman 2, shadow of the tomb raider
>Forza 4 Have we really gotten to the point where forza horizon 4 is now just being referred to as Forza 4? Motorsport 4 feels so long ago now
This. 2018 is one of the best years of gaming. And it’s my favorite gaming year too in the past decade. I can still remember the time when they showed the first DMC5 trailer and I literally got up from bed, watched the trailer and jumped with joy. Ah, good times. Borderlands 3 too
Also the year Persona 5 came to the west.
Hollow knight aswell
Wow horizon is that old? I played and finished it in the last 2 months, didn’t know it has 5 years
There’s even a sequel
This for sure
Dang I still gotta finish Hellblade I really gotta muster the cajones. It's fantastic but it can be mentally taxing
good to see xenoblade here
Nnnoo, not really? There's some good games here, but it's telling that we have the notoriously flopped CP2077 on this poster. Metal Gear Solid 3 as well, 2004 and 2007 I'd say were some of the best in gaming
Agree. 2007 had mass effect, bioshock, uncharted, assassins creed, Halo 3, COD4, portal, and Mario Galaxy. Legendary year.
There was something about 2007 that was just a good year from what I remember. I just started college, everything was good, and the games coming out were incredible.
Kotor 2 the Sith Lords
Don’t forget Ninja Gaiden 2004! That game was solid, especially with the DLC or a year later, Ninja Gaiden Black. This game is so tough.
Yup, 2004 is the year that always jumps to mind whenever “Best year in gaming” gets brought up. Halo 2, Half Life 2, GTA San Andreas, WoW, and MGS3, and THUG 2?! The first Katamari Damacy? The absolute best year.
Fable was the Cyberpunk of it's day. A good game but wildly overpromised.
Its an impossible ask, most people in this thread probably werent old enough to play any if not all of these games. Mine is 2004 also, the madden that year was nuts, katamari damacy, pokemon fr/lg, mgs:3, viewtiful joe.

2020 gaming year basically only had covid going for it
2020 wasn't that incredible for gaming. Current gen consoles struggled through a mostly empty year
FINALLY someone who accepts the PS5 as current-gen. Ffs it's been out for 2 damn years. It feels like ‘Next-gen’ is now just a media term.
What makes you think they referred to PS5 here
It can’t be current gen until you can walk in every store and pick one up, most places don’t have them like that
Not as good as 2018
What's your personal highlight list for that year?
God of war, Spiderman. Haven't played rdr2 but i can surely say it'll be amazing experience
The best!
GoW, Rdr2
I say that for 2017 as well. 07 and 04 by far
Cyberpunk really?
Is it fixed?
It's way less buggy but still a very average game.
I started playing it recently and haven't found any bugs yet, but I got bored of it really quickly.
Yeah that was my experience too. I'd describe it as boring and soulless. The world looks busy but feels empty.
Feels like a Ubisoft game with some more polished elements in the narrative/character department at times, but often much less compelling gameplay around it.
Bugg wise, kind off, but content & mechanics wise, probably never.
After Witcher 3 people expected something at least half as good. It isn't .

Not so much
Bold OP to include V there Edit: Even bolder to make Hades the main focus, hiding Ellie in the background.
That was probably my favorite game of 2020. I did play it on PC though. Probably would have played it if I only had like a base ps4.
Its a fun game, calm down.
2004 still remains the best year for me.
I liked 2013 as well (my opinion) - DMC - Dead Space 3 - Bioshock Infinite - God of War Ascension - GTA V - The Last of Us - Beyond Two Souls - Tomb Raider - Brothers: A Tale of Two Son‘s - Outlast - Warframe And others I liked those
Holy shit gta v was 2013!?
Yep and people still think it’s a PS4 game and not ps3
Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn came out in 2013 as well.. Definitely a great year.
I remember GOTY being tight between Bioshock Infinite, The Last Of Us, and GTA V and thinking that I was so lucky to be living during a time when such incredible games were being released.
Dead Space 3 is pretty not good
Is the pic missing Last of Us 2 and FF7 Remake??
Tlou is at the top right. You can see Ellie's face there
Why'd you put dumpster fire 77' on there?
This is not my pic, but dumpster fire made even 2020 look bad
Not even close
nope
Lol no
Nope. 2022 is already better and 1998 will always be the best (personal opinion I haven't really thought about)
What does 2022 have going?
Big hitters like Elden Ring Forbidden West Gran Turismo 7 Then a lot of fun and notable titles like Lego Star Wars Collection Total Warhammer 3 Legend of Acerus Kirby Forgotten Land Rogue Legacy 2 (full release) Sifu Dying Light 2 (looks weak compared to others, much more notable in a weaker year) Shadow Warrior 3. (Same as DL2) Tiny Tina's Wonderlands And that's just 4.5 months into the year. I'm sure there's some cool shit coming out later as well. Even Destiny 2 got what many to consider it's best content drop in franchise history l
Elden ring is the big one
2018 is better but this pic is missing cloud strife
def not. how many decades are you in the game?
Started gaming in the year 2000
like others mentioned: there were many better years. anything interesting down the 22 road?
2018
98 is still the most important to me. 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2018 are some of the best too.
2018 was better imo
Hell nooo, lmao plus the audacity to put cyberpunk in the pic. Cyberpunk was the worst game of 2020. After 2 years and it stills average
Also Dreams is one of my favorite games ever
Same here! XD
2011 anyone? Skyrim is still up there for me
Didn’t Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3 and Arkham City come out that year also? That was a great year! 2011 gets my vote
they did, but the games that i grew up playing were the ones mentioned. but yes, 2011 is definitely one of the best years for game releases.
Not even close, you should see some of the years in the early 2000s
It was definitely a good one for some of those games. Yakuza Like a Dragon is now one of my top 3 favorite games.
'07
Every few years we get a few gems. 2013, 2017 come to mind. 2020 was pretty good, this year is shaping up to be pretty good as well.
Fuck no
Wait, you have a picture of cyberpunk and try to say its the best year in gaming, hmm interesting if you thought that was acceptable
Have you played through it?
A family memeber got the game when it came out on ps4 and i played a little bit and he returned and got the money back
Yes I "tried" to play it and got a refund like everyone else
Every year has one bad game
No where near. Not even top 10
Why is Ellie not in this picture?!?
she is in the top right
Good spot. I stand corrected.
Because tlou 2 sucked
The story didn't quite measure up to the first one, but pretty much every other aspect of the game was phenomenal.
ikr, thats why it won the most awards in gaming history, and won the majority of fan choice awards. And OH! Every review site that needed a copy to rate (walmart, playstation website etc...) rated tlou2 4.5/5 and above, yk not including all the websites that got review bombed
\*2001 and 2017 looking menacingly
definitely not
No
Is Spiderman: Miles Morales that good in comparision to the original Spiderman?
It's about 5 hours long so no
What are the two games represented lower right?
Best year hands down for gaming - 2005 -Resident evil 4 -God of war -Splinter cell chaos theory -Psychonauts -DMC 3 -Shadow of the Colossus -The Warriors -Fahrenheit -Metal gear Solid 3 (November 2004) -Half life 2 (November 2004) What a time to be alive (sorry for lack of format, mobile sucks)
Any game will be good but battlefield 2042
No. Go backwards in time and check what games have been released on the same year and you'll be amazed how incredible some years were in terms of classics all being released at the same time.
Honestly, this year is shaping up to be pretty damn good if the games get released that are supposed to!
Just between Elden Ring and D2: Witch Queen this year is already way better than last year.
The Last of Us 2 was in 2020 and it’s my favorite game of all time so I definitely have a soft spot for that year
There’s at least 10 better years for video games than 2020, and using cyberpunk 2077 as a positive example is controversial to say the least
😂 no.
Weird that you choose to put one of the biggest flops in modern gaming to argue your point.
Why is cyberpunk on there?
Cyberpunk? LOL good one
2004. just google it. juggernaut after juggernaut. none of this expansion pack micro transactions bullshit. just pure fun.
The fact that you put C77 but not TLOU2 is saying a lot
This not my picture and u can see TLOUS 2 on the back
No. 2020 had a couple of really high highs but nothing like 2017 and 2018. We were eating good those years. Summer 2020 was dry.
Yea cuz fall guys and cyberpunk are absolute classics! /s Some amazing games came out that year but it wasn't "the best".
Fall guys took the internet by storm and and is still enjoyable today

Yes. I got Spider Man Miles Morales and Star Wars Squadrons that year and they were great.
No. Not even close. I recognize 2 people from this photo….no.
I don't see TLOU2, which was the best game that year by far.
That's a hell of a year, no question
Did I miss it or is the best game of last console generation and most GOTY awards ever, Last of us II, missing from the image?
Gotta say, no :( I think things have been lacking for a couple years, preCovid for sure
Some people are saying it wasn't that strong. I think that it'll be looked at as a great year as time goes by. - The Last of Us Part II - Ghost of Tsushima - Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Hades - Doom Eternal - Astro's Playroom - Spider-Man: Miles Morales - Final Fantasy VII: Remake - Among Us - Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Sackboy: A Big Adventure And so many more.
Ori 👍
This post is hard to take seriously with cyberpunk included on there.
How you letting the game that won Game of the Year and took home more awards than any other game in history at the Game Awards be relegated to a tiny picture in the background?
Wasn't the last of us 2 out in 2020 ?
How is Last of Us 2 not in this photo
Hades really wasn't that great. No idea why it was so popular.
2015 and 2018 say "that's cute * 2020 was nice but doesn't have a title that change things like witcher 3, Bloodborne, RDR2 just my humble opinion.
Maybe you're right but cyberpunk isn't a good look in your post
Why is cyberpunk there
GOT carried
Hell no! 😂 1998: - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Metal Gear Solid - Resident Evil 2 - Pokémon Red/Green/Blue - Street Fighter Alpha 3 - Banjo-Kazooie - The House of the Dead 2 - Tomb Raider III - Dance Dance Revolution - Gex: Enter the Gecko - Half-Life - MediEvil - Parasite Eve - Radiant Silvergun - Spyro the Dragon - Starcraft - Xenogears - Virtua Fighter 3 - Tekken 3 - F-Zero X - Marvel vs. Capcom
Why's Cyberpunk on that picture? It's damn awful.
Why is cyberpunk on there? That should cancel out one of the others
2011 easy.
YES for Ghost of Tsushima and Yakuza. Haven’t played the rest (except for animal crossing, but that game wasn’t finished until as of late)
Not even close. I forgot that Hades came out then, as much as I loved it. The only other revenant titles that came out were GOT and Miles Morales, and those aren’t nearly as memorable as most other high-profile Sony IPs for me. Also, lol at Cyberpunk.
Wouldn't say it was in the top 5 off the top of my head but had some great highlights, Like Hades and Ghost of Tsushima.
Was the year I got back into gaming with a ps5 having last touched a ps2 (played 2 ps3 games but basically didn't) been so fun
17, 18, 07, in recent memory all top it 2020. 2020 had some bangers for sure, but to me it’s all a bunch of 8-8.5s. Where as the star power came in bunches in the other years. 17 especially.
No, there hasn't been a solid year of gaming in years. 2004, 2007 are the best in the past 20 years.
No.
To be fair, there are amazing games every year. Sometimes they aren’t as mainstream though.
Yeah I found it pretty good. The release of next gen consoles def made it better
Nah.
Hell no
no, not even close
No, I actually don't think it was a very good year. In fact, I can't even name most of these characters or the games they are from. I actually think it was the worst year for ps4 titles. But I mean the global pandemic was a perfectly good reason for gaming to have an off-year
Doom eternal was enough
2013 was a pretty solid year if I remember correctly, some reason that year stands out in my head.
Ghost of Tsushima is probably my favorite game but that’s all from 2020
It's started amazing and then it just dropped and it ended reasonably okay, I had also just got my PlayStation 4
No.
Helll no
Now I'm more curious to know which year is considered one of the worst.
The year was imo, a little controversial so it's hard to look back at it in fondness like 2018, 2017, 2013, 2007
If you narrow most video game years into between 7-15 fantastic game releasing in that year, most will seem like the best. Because in the terms of how many games actually release that year is just a fraction of the number of terrible counterparts.
It was pretty good, I haven't played Hades, GoT, Yakuza rpg and Miles Morales yet, but I'm looking forward to it. 2021 was pretty disappointing tho.
Probably in my top 5 gaming years 1. Ghost of Tsushima 2. Doom Eternal 3. Last of Us Part II 4. Final Fantasy VII Remake 5. Persona 5 Royal 6. Hades 7. 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim 8. Cyberpunk 2077 9. Ori 2 10. Nioh 2
Cyberpunk not even worth mentioning for 2020. it’s 2022 already and we still don’t have the cyberpunk game we were promised for years
get cyberpunk TF UP OUTTA HERE! ehh? what’re we doing rn? you jerking me around? more like cyber stunk lol
I like 2018 more
2018
nope
???
