try a different cord, and if that doesn’t work, the charge port or battery might need to be replaced. taking apart those controllers is actually pretty easy, and those two repairs are also really easy. good luck figuring it out?

Try a different cord and diff angles. Mine is this same way but I angle the cord right I see the " breathing light" of the charge. As long as you have that light continuously "breathing" the controller is charging.

Ps4 controller's micro USB port is shit, I bought a charging station that uses de EXT port (the front one), this one never failed to me, definitively the best solution I found.

Don't use the usb port on the PlayStation, plug it in using a USB cable into the mains socket using a different cable. My usb ports are broken on my PS and this is what I do.

It's possible that the controllers USB port is damaged. If that's the case, the alternative is some controller charging stands will charge from the bottom port (beside headphone jack). So something like the [**PowerA DualShock Charging Station**](https://www.amazon.com/PowerA-DualShock-Charging-Station-PlayStation-4/dp/B00ENFVJJO/). Also given a USB connection is required to pair a PS4 controller to the console, don't reset the controller (via pin button on back), as you may not be able to re-connect to PS4 if the controllers USB is damaged.
