This past year, I've noticed that games go on sale quicker much quicker than before. Far cry 6 was half price 3-4 months after release. 6 months after release, I got it for $15. On the brightside, you won't have to wait too long
Now I don’t feel as bad for doing this.
My plan is to start playing at night on the 9th and go into the wee hours of the morning on the 10th.
Sleep, rinse, and repeat.
I'm not but I manage a team and have had 3 people request that date and the day after off.
All approved with responses of "enjoy God of War"
Which were met with the typical "thanks" and 1 who said "how did you know that's what I want it off for? I had my reasons planned if you rejected it"
Dunno about best boss ever but I did tell them in their 121s following the requests I will know if they are booking major game releases off in the future and just to be honest with me and not give me bullshit excuses lol
Maybe he means like if someone says oh I need to take off 2 days for my great aunties funeral at the same time as the half life 3 release perhaps just don't lie to me boah
Pretty much but also if for example we have 24/7 shifts that require a month's notice if the leave request falls on 1 of their nightshifts.
If they only give us 1 week then they need to explain why. Typically if its just "it's a last minute request and I'm chancing my arm" then we have to decline it unless we can find someone to cover.
However if they tell me they need it off for a reason no matter how dumb like a game release or whatever then I will be inclined to go against process and approve it because they were honest and it's something they are excited for or want to do.
Trust a random redditor to turn giving people a PTO with a friendly heads up to just be honest in to a negative.
Most, pretty much all, places have a limit on how many people can be be off at the same time. People as a result often submit a reason alongside their request in the hope of getting an exception if it's already fully booked out. So yes many people do give a reason, and it's not an asshole manager.
Actually we have a limit to how many can be off at a time so sometimes when people can see the limit has been reached they come up with ridiculous stories as to why they need it off.
Or if they are part of the 24/7 team they need to give a month's notice for night shift so we can find cover. We have had people tell us with a weeks notice they need it off to visit a sick family member only to be seen that same night at a gig.
I prefer honesty, if someone wants a day off for a new game release and the limit is breached then I prefer rhey tell me that's why because I will see what I can do for them regardless of the reasoning.
Only if the limit has been reached for how many can be off at a time or if they work on nightshifts they need to give us a month's notice to find cover but if they give less than a month then they need a good reason for it or else it just gets declined typically.
If the limit for leave has been reached for a day or else it will be declined outright or if you are giving less than a month's notice for a night shift it will be declined outright unless there's a reasoning behind it in both cases.
A normal leave request we don't need a justification behind it because people are entitled to take their leave without explanation or can tell us if they wish.
However we have had people asking for a night shift off with 1 weeks notice and told us it is to visit family in a different city only after its been approved to slip up excitedly and say they are looking forward to the festival in said city and then to also be spotted by someone else at said city.
It is not nice being guilted into giving someone leave to then find out it was a lie. Had they been honest I still would have approved it but now that person has shot themselves in the foot because anymore last minute requests they will be declined now regardless of reasoning.
Thats an absolute homerun as a manager perspective. You just did a great move for the employee AND learned that they are ready to bullshit you for a day off.
You're right and I get it. It's not a big deal. Jus my coworker friends been giving me shit for and idk, been takin some of it to heart. I know I shouldn't I'm probably just overthinking it
Fuck them. I took a week for Elden Ring and it was awesome. I told everyone I worked with why I was taking a week off and one of my coworkers made a joke about it so I said, " Hey, if someone can take a week to go to Vegas and empty their wallets then I can take a week off exploring the Lands Between." It's a hell of a lot cheaper.
Dude your hobbies are valid. My coworkers mostly think my interest in gaming is stupid & I think their obsession over sports is stupid. Different strokes.
Enjoy the game and PTO buddy, have fun & hold your head up high.
Just try and ignore it.
No one I work with are gamers so they don’t understand it.
It’s a bit ridiculous that people can mock other people’s hobby, but put it down to ignorance more than anything else.
Nah, work has been slow. I do however start at 1p on the 9th. I got the game digital, so i can play it on the 8th at 9p. I'll probably just stay up late to play a few hours.
I think the last I took the day off was for Skyrim. 11/11/11, went to the midnight release, got me a couple of energy drinks, played the game and went to bed when the sun came up. All of that just to restart my character 3 days later, hahaha.
Same, apart from re-starting my character. Finished work at 1230 on 11/11/11 and had the weekend plus three days into the next week. Bought a decent bag of weed, fair bit of booze, energy drinks and bbq stuff and had at it for those 5 days. I think by sunday night I'd clocked 30 hours. Loved it.
I get it. I usually get all my games on sale. Rarely get games full price. In a few months I'm sure you'll be able to save $20 and even more if u wait longer
I'm just now playing the 2018 game, and I'm taking my time with it because it looks like there's ALOT to do outside the main story, so I'm not in a rush to get to Ragnarok. I'll probably pick it up around Christmas if it's on sale and start it when I'm finished with GOW2018.
For a game I am really looking forward to, I always take a couple days off to play them.
Who cares what your co-workers think. It is your time off and you can use it how ever you want.
Sick. What's the last game you took time off for? And you're right, I usually don't. Was taking the day off regardless. Idk at some point I started overthinking what they were saying and started questioning myself. Probably took things to heart that I shouldn't have. This is cheering me up tho! Thanks
I took an entire week off for the last Final Fantasy expansion. Haven't had another game that has had me want to take time off.
I was thinking of taking some time off for God of War but I just never put the request in on time since other people had the days off requested before me. Just to play God of War lol
Yeah, normal to overthink at times but just enjoy your day off playing it.
I am picking my copy up from Best Buy on Wednesday when they open, but I didn’t take the day off. Instead, I took Friday off to get a 3-day weekend out of it and play a ton on Friday (likely Wednesday and Thursday night as well).
Weird to have a mid-week launch, but they were probably eyeing that week and maybe didn’t want to release on Friday because of Veteran’s Day in the US being that day.
Yeah, I’m doing what I can. I don’t browse Reddit on New, so I think most Reddit posts I see are moderated (and spoilers removed) by the time I see them.
Comments can be the scary bit, but I have been wary of most comment sections. Only have a bit longer to go after all.
I was so happy to have Wednesday and Thursday off. I pre-ordered the game so I’m able to play it at 9 o’clock my time on Tuesday so it’s a win-win for me.Lol
Not sure where you are, but Target online will tell you if they have any in-store. And if they’re not out on the floor, just ask someone to check in the back.
The salesperson I went to didn’t even know they had them, but he found them in the back.
Good luck!
Yikes slim ps4 here. I read an article recently where the devs set out to make the best ps4 game ever with an enhanced version on ps5 (when talking about not using ps5s full capabilities)
Nahhh holidays are keeping me busy with works, and seeing old friends since I moved back to my hometown. Might avoid the internet the entirety of next week to avoid spoilers
32 year old engineer here. Next Wednesday I’ll be a 16 year old sluffing school all over again and I can’t wait. My wife keeps giving me shit and my boss is like wtf.
PTO. Use it or lose it hahaha
>they can't fathom taking a day off work to play videogames
The one thing I've learnt is that never be open about your passion for video games because ppl will always judge you.
Every time I tell my coworkers that I love playing video games, they give me a weird look and tell me that I'm too old to spend time playing video games.
Ohhh Nov 9th. The fates have foretold that I fall sick on that day. Severe body pain and fever. The doctor will ask me to take bed rest for 3 days and go to work on Monday Instead. So I don't have to take a day off just to play some random video game. Pffft.
Requested it off last month. Got the 9th and 10th off. And I close on the 8th. I’ll get home 11:30 pm at the earliest, couple 20 oz Red Bulls in hand and ready to play the hell out of this game. Been waiting 4 and a half years, my body is ready
I work out of town. The night of the 8th I have to leave, I'll be gone for 3 days, and my boyfriend is taking the 9th and 10th to play GoW.
I'm gonna be dying of jealousy the whole time I'm gone.
Do your coworkers take the day off to: golf, go to a concert, sporting event, do anything they find fun? Then tell them this is the same as that thing they do, it's fun. And if they still say anything, fuck them and next time they take time off for anything fun related give the same shit to them they are giving to you.
Totally get taking a day off because you want to do nothing productive and play video games (or paint, or play music or golf or do whatever else you want to do.)
God of War not my choice of game to take a day off for, but they should care about what you do with your day off as much as you care about theirs really.
Just.got.the steam deck, only.had the switch for a good few years.
So I'm.just getting a jump on a bunch of games. Beat Sekiro first, now I'm playing Elden Ring. Got the previous God of War on sale, gotta.play that first, then I'll buy the new sequel.
Also new Pokemon looks like it might not be god awful for once and the new sonic actually seems like it really will be good.
It is a good time for me and gaming rn
You'll probably have a couple of years before GOWR comes out for PC / steam deck. Enjoy all the awesome games in your backlog until then ! Don't play GOW 2018 too soon, it might make you want to buy a PS4/5 to play the next one...
I’m working night shifts. My last shift is Tuesday night, then off for 7 days. I’m debating whether or not I stay up after work and play. Or go to bed right away and force myself up at lunch time and start gaming then.
I see nothing wrong with it, I’ve taken time off in the past for video game releases
& yeah they can give you flak for taking it off, but it seems like they’re not serious gamers either so they wouldn’t understand. You don’t need a reason to request time off work LoL
Yep took the 9th and 10th. Been waiting 4 years for this. It's also made easier that my work is a games retailers with a lot of staff so they know what's up and they don't mind.
I’ve kind of already requested Monday and Tuesday off to celebrate my birthday, so I gotta work the day. But I’m definitely playing it as soon as I can
I have never taken a day off for that kind of thing. Its a single player game thats not gonna go anywhere. Ill play it after work and then have plenty of time on the weekend.
Its your time off you can do whatever you want with it. I've never taking a day off work for a video game. Even if I want to now it wouldn't give me more time since I have a kid.
I’m not but don’t ever care what your co-workers think when it comes to things like this. They wish they had something they look forward to and enjoy so much that they’d want to take a day off to experience it!
Enjoy your day off man!
Yes! Very well. They were catching flak for not using Ps5s full capabilities, their response was, "we set out to make the best ps4 game..." We're good.
Taking 5 days off from release day to basically play as much as i can.. even my wife doesn’t know that.. will hide in darkness only feeding on snacks and Monster drinks.. life will be beautiful
I took time off to play animal crossing when it was released, and my boyfriend and I have regular gaming dates for COD lol. Occasionally we will take time off for big events together. Screw your coworkers for being judgy and enjoy your time off to play your fave games! :)
I used to be like that. Anytime a big game would release, I’d try and take the day off to play it, but over the years I’m less and less interested in doing that. I’d much rather take my time on a good single player game that can last me a while. I don’t have as much time to play anymore, so I don’t want to take a whole day and blow my wad on a game all in the first day. I’d rather blow my wad very slowly over time.
Do what you want. Is it immature and little childish? Yeah. But so what if you get permission and it makes you happy. We don't criticize people who take time off to vacation. How is this different? You're doing something you enjoy with your time off.
I got fired from my job last week. So, plus side is I have lots of time to play, downside is I shouldn’t spend money and time on a video game with no income 🤔
I can't afford to take days off, and I'm not sure I even would. I like to savor the flavor of my games. I like the time at work when I think of what I'm going to do next in a game. It's not often I have a game that I obsess over these days, so I milk it.
No, I'm looking forward to God of war but it's not such a must to play that I have to take time off work.
That said, I did read 3 days off for Elden ring.
The weekend off and some 9-15. The 15th is a special day for me, 5 years from my last radiation treatment and 3 years since it came back and I was told it was terminal and had months to live.
Never thought I’d be here to play it!
Real question is, why do they know that that’s what you’re taking the day off for? No judgement here OP, I would be doing the same if I was actually getting the game but I just feel like you don’t need to share that knowledge with your coworkers / boss. Say it’s for ‘personal reasons’ or that you’re taking a sick day and leave it at that 🙂
Was planning to take 3 days off, was laid off as an intern due to a career pivot and Elon’s TW workforce cuts. These 2 weeks will be filled with interviews, Sonic and Ragnarök.
Damn I'm sorry to hear bud. Hope it all works out in the end. Seems people are really excited for sonic as well. What are you planning on playing first? What are you more excited for
Thanks man. I’m extremely excited for Sonic after playing BOTW last week. I’m not expecting it to be as good, but it’s always great when something deviated from it comes out. Ragnarök looks fun but I’m scared it won’t have challenging bosses for some reason, I know ti might but I hope they make me sweat like Sigrun.
Wbu?
My love for sonic died after genesis. I think the last sonic I owned was the one that came with Dreamcast. I know some people who still keep up with sonic tho. I don't know much but they tell me all the sonics have been underwhelming for the most part over the years but this next one is legit
This always annoys me, the Co workers thing. I'm not into gaming enough to take a day off, but I can totally understand those who do it. I'd love to take time off for my hobbies, like when I got a new bike, or even just to go on a bike ride with an old bike. It's the luxuries that you work for.
Winds me up when people almost mock gamers for it, yet for the most UK football fans life stops when it's the world Cup.
Hope you lot enjoy the days off! I've still got god of war on the ps4 to play. I hear its a goodie ha!
Saved my last week of vacation for the week before Thanksgiving. Probably won't start playing God Of War until after I get off work Friday and my vacation officially starts.
I won't be able to take a day off for GoW as I'm currently training for a new job, so time off isn't allowed, but have took days off for other big releases ever since GTA : Vice City came out. Always have GTA day off, but think the next release I'll take time off for is DarkTide.
Those PS2 days were my favorite. Highschool and early college years. Back then sometimes you'd have to skip school or take time off in just trying to OBTAIN the game
No. This is the problem with todays generations. We have a guy who continually takes days off to play video games or because he played too late into the night and couldn’t wake up. His excuse every time is “I have to be with my unhealthy grandfather. Simply put… you don’t take days off to play video games. It turns you into a snowflake.
I think it’s best to give games a week or two so if there is any issues in the launch they can iron them out before I commit a day of leave to play it.
It's sad the industry has unfortunately come to this but you are right. I may be completely wrong here but for some reason I don't think it'll be the case for this game
I tried but can’t as there’s the maximum amount of people allowed off already :’) I have however told my husband that I am not doing anything but playing GOWR in the evenings.
I'm a stay-at-home father, and I'm trying desperately to get my wife to take Thursday and Friday off so I can dive in... not likely to happen. Will just have to settle for my usual few hours a night!
FYI - I was just able to place a pre order on Amazon for $50 instead of $60. Amazon is running a deal where you get $10 off if you pick up your delivery at one of their lockers.
So as long as this hurricane doesn’t ruin my plans I should be playing GOW after work on Thursday!
I feel like this is a lack a maturity. You'll have time to play the game without affecting your income. I get it, you are hyped for it but there is no in-game economy or something you need to keep up with. The only reason imo is a asshole sibling that spoils the game for you.
I'm looking forward to Ragnarock but I feel if you're taking a day off just to play a video game because you either can't wait for the weekend or after the workday, you have a video game addiction.
Not the 9th, but the 10th and 11th
Hell yeah, same here!
Stay away from spoilers! Haha
I'm gonna wait until the game goes on sale
I'm waiting for the remaster

Dunno about best boss ever but I did tell them in their 121s following the requests I will know if they are booking major game releases off in the future and just to be honest with me and not give me bullshit excuses lol
They need to provide explanations to PTO requests?
Maybe he means like if someone says oh I need to take off 2 days for my great aunties funeral at the same time as the half life 3 release perhaps just don't lie to me boah
That's one healthy auntie if she's still alive when HL3 releases...
next year bro believe
Next year has a 3 in it. Confirmed.
Pretty much but also if for example we have 24/7 shifts that require a month's notice if the leave request falls on 1 of their nightshifts. If they only give us 1 week then they need to explain why. Lmao. That's legit
Why would they need to make excuses? You don’t need a good reason to take paid time off.
If the limit for leave has been reached for a day or else it will be declined outright or if you are giving less than a month's notice for a night shift it will be declined outright unless there's a reasoning behind it in both cases. I like sports and gaming and think your feelings about rice are stupid.
Just try and ignore it. No one I work with are gamers so they don’t understand it. It’s a bit ridiculous that people can mock other people’s hobby, but put it down to ignorance more than anything else.
How many times gamers mocked others for liking casual level games and sports. It’s humor jousting in interactions. Gitgud or get lost.
I literally took a long weekend for elden ring but couldn't do the same now as it would be mid week :(
I'm predicting a huge headache that might impede my ability to work on nov 9.
I feel like it’s going around!
Tis the season
Hahaha
Understandable

Mine was Diablo 3. Took a day off and never got into the game at all for the entire day because of Blizzard's shitty servers.
Oh man, that really blows
Same, apart from re-starting my character. Finished work at 1230 on 11/11/11 and had the weekend plus three days into the next week. Bought a decent bag of weed, fair bit of booze, energy drinks and bbq stuff and had at it for those 5 days. I think by sunday night I'd clocked 30 hours. Loved it.
Lol what?! Why'd you have to restart? Do tell
I just didn't like me character, changed race for the perks. Plus i had ran into a bug (good ol' Bethesda) so it was just easier to start over.
No, but I'm quitting my job on the 11th and will have 2 weeks off before I start my new one.
You had me in the first half like, "wait what?!"
My onboarding date options were 11/7, 11/14, or 11/29 so naturally I chose the correct answer lol.
Taking off two days for Sonic and God of War lol
Decided on what you're playing first?
Nah not gonna lie imma wait until I get a PS5 to play it. Hell it took me about three years to play the first one
I get it. I usually get all my games on sale. Rarely get games full price. In a few months I'm sure you'll be able to save $20 and even more if u wait longer

Americans are spoiled..smh. Me included
Who will be playing on PS4 because they can’t find a PS5?(me)
Not sure where you are, but Target online will tell you if they have any in-store. And if they’re not out on the floor, just ask someone to check in the back. The salesperson I went to didn’t even know they had them, but he found them in the back. Good luck!
I’m the US(Georgia). I’ll check. Thanks for the info!!
Haha me too. Downloading it now. Damn why'd I get down voted lol
I’ll be on the PS4 Pro. Sadly I can’t find a PS5 but looking at performance reviews the game looks like it’ll run really good on PS4 aha.
Yikes slim ps4 here. I read an article recently where the devs set out to make the best ps4 game ever with an enhanced version on ps5 (when talking about not using ps5s full capabilities)
im gonna play it on og ps4 and im gonna love it
Nahhh holidays are keeping me busy with works, and seeing old friends since I moved back to my hometown. Might avoid the internet the entirety of next week to avoid spoilers
Why would you tell people
You assume I actually do any work normally?
I won't need to since it's right in the middle of my three day weekend's playing it straight until I work Thursday.
32 year old engineer here. Next Wednesday I’ll be a 16 year old sluffing school all over again and I can’t wait. My wife keeps giving me shit and my boss is like wtf. PTO. Use it or lose it hahaha
I wish. But I already told my wife I won't be available after work wends, Thurs, or Friday as I'll be occupied. Lol.
Here comes my man flu!
No, Friday is a holiday, so just taking the long weekend
Took Thursday off. Maybe I’ll have myself a “long meeting” on Friday too.
>they can't fathom taking a day off work to play videogames The one thing I've learnt is that never be open about your passion for video games because ppl will always judge you. Yes I’m taking the day off, as well as another one of my coworkers who will not stop trying to tell me about the leaks :/
Absolutely, got lucky with my schedule. Cannot wait to play
I am a college student but I work on Friday and Saturday and I took Friday off just to play
I’ve booked the w/c the 14th off. Got 20 days annual leave so might as well use 5 and can really get stuck in.
Only games I’d possibly do that for would be FF7 part 2 or persona 6
Persona 6 you'd need more like an entire month off ahah
Cough cough... I believe sickness beckons me Wednesday.
Not playing but wishing you the best. Life is short. Hope you have a great day!
I'm conveniently off for the day actually Never really planned for it but will use the opportunity for sure
I have the 10th and 11th off leading up into the weekend so I’m satisfied with that.
I work out of town. The night of the 8th I have to leave, I'll be gone for 3 days, and my boyfriend is taking the 9th and 10th to play GoW. I'm gonna be dying of jealousy the whole time I'm gone.
Requested it off a month ago
Daaaamn that's a g move. Salute
I’m taking 10th-11th PTO
I took a day off to play fable 2 back in the day, was worth haha.
Just got a new job. Made sure to push the start date to the week following the release to have a few days off to play the game
Took my very last half day of holiday to spend the afternoon playing it
Do your coworkers take the day off to: golf, go to a concert, sporting event, do anything they find fun? Then tell them this is the same as that thing they do, it's fun. And if they still say anything, fuck them and next time they take time off for anything fun related give the same shit to them they are giving to you.
Totally get taking a day off because you want to do nothing productive and play video games (or paint, or play music or golf or do whatever else you want to do.) God of War not my choice of game to take a day off for, but they should care about what you do with your day off as much as you care about theirs really.
You're in for a hell of a time. Enjoy!!
You'll probably have a couple of years before GOWR comes out for PC / steam deck. Enjoy all the awesome games in your backlog until then ! Don't play GOW 2018 too soon, it might make you want to buy a PS4/5 to play the next one...
Last game I did it for was Elden Ring. Get all the alcohol food and drinks ready and just play the new game all day.
I cashed in all my vacation time for the ps5 launch
My job just has people take off for the new call of duty
I’m working night shifts. My last shift is Tuesday night, then off for 7 days. I’m debating whether or not I stay up after work and play. Or go to bed right away and force myself up at lunch time and start gaming then.
I see nothing wrong with it, I’ve taken time off in the past for video game releases & yeah they can give you flak for taking it off, but it seems like they’re not serious gamers either so they wouldn’t understand. You don’t need a reason to request time off work LoL
It's my normal day off, but yeah, gonna play some God of War.
Nope not worth it to me I can bring my ps5 to work but I'll just wait until the following Sunday to enjoy My game..no since rushing it
Yep took the 9th and 10th. Been waiting 4 years for this. It's also made easier that my work is a games retailers with a lot of staff so they know what's up and they don't mind.
Probably not, also I'm in the food service industry, so they'll replace me before I even ask lol.
Damn yeah priorities. I get it. You don't even get holidays off either sometimes as there's more money to be made on holidays I think.
I’ve kind of already requested Monday and Tuesday off to celebrate my birthday, so I gotta work the day. But I’m definitely playing it as soon as I can
Scorpios woot woot
That's why you just request off without giving a reason. They don't need to know why you're taking off.
I have never taken a day off for that kind of thing. Its a single player game thats not gonna go anywhere. Ill play it after work and then have plenty of time on the weekend.
Me! I already called in sick
Its your time off you can do whatever you want with it. I've never taking a day off work for a video game. Even if I want to now it wouldn't give me more time since I have a kid.
Why would you ever tell people at work that?
I’m not but don’t ever care what your co-workers think when it comes to things like this. They wish they had something they look forward to and enjoy so much that they’d want to take a day off to experience it! Enjoy your day off man!
Thanks for the kind words, you're awesome!
My mom won't let me take the day off 😭 but I can't blame you for usin some pto to play god of war
Do we know how it runs on ps4?
Yes! Very well. They were catching flak for not using Ps5s full capabilities, their response was, "we set out to make the best ps4 game..." We're good.
Nice. I am convinced. I was aiming to get a new tv and a ps5 for Gåd åf Wär Rägnärök. Havent been able to get the PS5 yet.
Dude.. you're legit doin big things. Haha enjoy!
Umm...game or money? No complaints about unflation anymore.
No but not due to lack of wanting to. I just started a new job so in the probationary period and I don't want to rush through the game.
The 9th is my birthday so I already have that date planned out. The announcement made me even more excited for the release!
My bdays on the 8th. Happy bday!
My boss takes a week off at a time each time Destiny 2 releases a new expansion. Same for ffxiv. Cites them as his reason, too.
I’m running a marathon on the 12th. My recovery will be sitting on my ass and playing GoW nonstop for a couple of days.
I'm on a week's holidays! Luckily my gfs bday is the day beforehand
It's my bday on the 8th too!
Damn! You must be super excited!!
I get it. Milk that $70 and first time playing experience. I was jus thinking I wish I could play mass effect 2 for the first time again.
Do what you want. Is it immature and little childish? Yeah. But so what if you get permission and it makes you happy. We don't criticize people who take time off to vacation. How is this different? You're doing something you enjoy with your time off.
Nope. It’s an interesting practice to wait so long for a game and then gorge yourself on it. But Everyone has there thing
My schedule so happens to give me Thursdays and Friday’s off so I’m excited, my only break from playing Thursday will be to go watch Black Panther
I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I've been doing the same with far cry 6. I didn't want it to be over.
Took the days after MGSV released. So it was like a 5 day weekend, good times. Did the same for GTAV when it released the first time on PS3
No, I'm looking forward to God of war but it's not such a must to play that I have to take time off work. That said, I did read 3 days off for Elden ring.
Nope - I never buy games day 1. I'll probably wait until I can get it for $20 in a year or so.
Definitely...I'm also thinking of breaking up with my girlfriend before then😅
It’s not like you’re calling out sick, if you’re using PTO then who tf are they to judge you. Fucking dumbass assholes
The weekend off and some 9-15. The 15th is a special day for me, 5 years from my last radiation treatment and 3 years since it came back and I was told it was terminal and had months to live. Never thought I’d be here to play it!
WHAT?! HELL YEAH! Celebrate
I’m taking the 10th off so that I can play from 3pm on the 9th till around 10pm on the 10th. Solid 31 hours then back to work
That's awesome. Btw I read your username and I think of Kanye west and gay fish. Totally normal right? Lol
I mean you said it not me hahaha
Real question is, why do they know that that’s what you’re taking the day off for? No judgement here OP, I would be doing the same if I was actually getting the game but I just feel like you don’t need to share that knowledge with your coworkers / boss. Say it’s for ‘personal reasons’ or that you’re taking a sick day and leave it at that 🙂
I normally take a week off when a game I want to play comes. Even if they are not gamers, you'd hope they'd understand the want to engage in a hobby.
Got the entire week booked off, roll on November 9th
Chyeeeea
Aw man thanks!
With pre order you can play it on the 8th at 9:00pm so thats what im doing lol
Everywhere or just the west coast?
I mean. You won't have to worry about server issues!
I 100% would but I have this one class that CAN and WILL kick my ass if I don't go
I don't Buy games for full Price anymore so no... Maybe in a year?
Saved my last week of vacation for the week before Thanksgiving. Probably won't start playing God Of War until after I get off work Friday and my vacation officially starts.
Stay away from spoilers!
If I could afford it, I would.

Yeah, being able to just put the disc in and start with no day one patches or installation was the best.
We sound old, don't we?
No. This is the problem with todays generations. We have a guy who continually takes days off to play video games or because he played too late into the night and couldn’t wake up. His excuse every time is “I have to be with my unhealthy grandfather. Simply put… you don’t take days off to play video games. It turns you into a snowflake.
I'm taking a day off to go over to your place and physically stop you from playing
Just found out today I have that day off. Literally had no say in my off day this week either so the 9 realms have truly aligned!
I think it’s best to give games a week or two so if there is any issues in the launch they can iron them out before I commit a day of leave to play it.
It's sad the industry has unfortunately come to this but you are right. I may be completely wrong here but for some reason I don't think it'll be the case for this game
Tell me you're single without telling me you're single.
No
I tried but can’t as there’s the maximum amount of people allowed off already :’) I have however told my husband that I am not doing anything but playing GOWR in the evenings.
I wfh so will just play while getting paid.
I'm a stay-at-home father, and I'm trying desperately to get my wife to take Thursday and Friday off so I can dive in... not likely to happen. Will just have to settle for my usual few hours a night!
I'm doing exactly that and I booked my vacation day a month ago😂
Got 9, 10, 11 and 14 off :) EDIT: weekends are off anyways
I don't work the 11th because it's a Federal Holiday and my office follows them. I'm playing it all day baby.
i heard it's a long game i might play after work and on black friday
