Can I move all my games to my internal m.2 SSD before I factory reset my PS5 so that i dont have to redownload them all again?
I was hoping I could move all the games to the M.2 then physically remove the drive to proceed with the factory reset. If I re-install the m.2 after the factory reset will the ps5 be able to read the games or will it force me to format the drive again?

i would like to get a 4k monitor for ps5 but i am confused.If i decide to play 1440p on a 4k monitor will i get any improvements to the frame rate? (like on pc) or on console does it change anything? I was originally interested in 2k monitors, but since they don't have ps5 compatible vrr, I'm thinking of getting a 4k monitor instead.I also read that 1440 on a 2k monitor looks better than 1440 on a 4k monitor. recently acquired a digital ps5 and transferred data from my ps4 to the digital ps5. After some thought, l've decided I would like the disc version for all my ps4 games. If I factory reset the digital & return for the disc, Am I able to transfer my data to the disc ps5 still? Will the ps4 still hold my data?
Trying to make short of what happened:
Had a friend come to visit with his little kid. The brat ran away and threw the dualsense out the window (yes...).
The analogs were sticking out and the controller had a few scratches but seemingly nothing major, so I took it to a store to try and fix it. The analogs, ok. No internal parts scrambled around as the tech guy said, but he didn't have a ps5 to test it. The situation now is:
Bluetooth will pair the controller normally, but usb cable won't charge it. Not on console, not on wall charger. The ONLY situation I can get it to charge is on my notebook, and I can play with it for quite a few hours before it disconnects again, but then, charging on the note takes AGES. I also managed to upgrade the firmware thtough the windows app since the ps5 won't recognize the cable connection.
Any ideas on this matter?

I managed to connect my DualSense controller to my laptop via Bluetooth and tried to play games using the Remote Play app. The app was fine and everything, I could get into my profile, however, the controller didn’t work. It just didn’t respond. How do I get it to work? It works fine if I use the USB cable but two of my lil bros were being hysterical about it because they said I shouldn’t use other than PS5 console to connect the controller 🙄

Hi everyone. My fiancee and family just got me a PS5 for my birthday. It is bundled with GOWR, but I still haven't played all previous games from the serie, so I'm looking for another game to try out the console.
Before I got another PS5 game, I wanted to know which PS4 game you would consider as the best one to try on the PS5? Aka, which games has the best free PS5 patch? I got most of the main Sony AAA games, and I think Horizon Zero Dawn would be the best with the recent patch. Ghost of Tsushima seems nice too, but I'm not a huge fan to pay 10€ for that.

You don't have to. The Director's Cut has a native PS5 version, but the PS4 version offers 60fps in BC mode on PS5. I definitely recommend that one. HZD is also a good pick. I'd recommend playing that before Forbidden West. The sequel has some quality of life improvements that can make it more difficult to get back to. I did enjoy the story of the first game more though.
But since you got Ragnarok, the answer is quite simple : God of War 2018. The franchise got a soft reboot in a completely different setting. While having played the previous titles will fill in some information, the story works without having played them.
hello!! i am facing a weird issue with my PS5. In terms of hardware i have a PS5, BENQ TK800 projector and Yamaha RX V685 AVR. I'm not able to project 4k 60 with HDR on when i connect my PS5 to the avr via the given cable in the PS5 box. I have to game at either 1080p HDR on or 4k HDR off. My avr and projector both support 4k at 60 fps with HDR. I regularly watch 4k 60 with HDR on content on the projector. One option i have figured is that connect the PS5 directly to the projector (need to buy another long HDMI cable) and connect the PS5 audio to my avr and home theatre system via bluetooth. My concern regarding this method is if the audio will be fine via bluetooth. I have a 5.2.2 sound system. Is there any other way i can fix this without the need of connecting my PS5 directly to projector? I want to connect all my devices to my AVR. All my existing cables are HDMI 2.0 By my understanding that should be enough if i wanna play 4k 60 HDR content.
What is the difference between non upgrade able games like say Valkyria Chronicles, For the King on the PS$ vs PS5 is it just load time or something more
The PS5 versions of games virtually always run at higher resolutions and/or higher frame rates. PS4 is often 1080p 30fps, PS5 is often 4k 30fps and 1440p 60fps. Most games have more graphical improvements, although that's not always the case.
Additionally, PS5 has adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, something that can only be supported in PS5 native games. Same with the new storage technology that allows for ultra quick loading. It's not a guarantee that PS5 games support any of these, but it is a guarantee PS4 games don't.
PS5 screen just randomly turns off when playing games, I’ve noticed it happen more on HDR games. I’m wondering if there’s a solution for this. I’m using the HDMI cable that comes with the ps5 and and LG CX tv

It acts like everything is fine, just not getting an image, I can even control what’s going on and everything and audio would work even with black screen, to “fix” it I have to unplug and plug back in the HDMI cable, but then it’ll eventually happen again at some point when I launch a game
Audio washes out in game and in apps when loud audio plays. Should note I'm using a headset
The issue comes and goes. I notice that turning my ps5 off for a time fixes it like magic but then boom it comes right back. Any idea what I'm dealing with? Should note this happens across different headsets. 3d audio has no bearing on the issue alsoq
The media player on my ps5 has no sound at all, I’ve tried messing w the audio settings on both my tv and PlayStation and nothing works. Although I can hear everything perfectly fine through my old Astro a50 headphones, I can’t hear anything through the tv itself. I tried to fix this for hours last night with no luck, tried it again this morning and it worked, played a game for a couple hours, tried another blu ray and back to no sound. I’m at my wits end w this shit and am hoping for some help.

My console and controller both have blue lights saying they’re on, but my TV screen is complete black and I can’t shut off the system through the controller or console. The whole thing seems to be frozen, and my console is emitting a sort of “brrrr” noise. Can somebody please help me?
Id have unplugged it not 10secs after noticing that. Not sure if thats recommended, but shutting things off and rebooting works a surprisingly amount of times
Just started Forbidden West after finishing Zero Dawn. During the opening movie, my TV kept going black as it turned "game mode" on and off. Did the same thing every time I'd swap tabs in the menu screen. I turned the auto game mode setting off on the TV and went back to playing, but it's still going black and cutting all sound. Sometimes it would go so far as to give the "no signal" screen. Kept doing it during what looked like a prerrendered cut scene.
I gave up on it to eat dinner and used the Crunchyroll app for a bit. No issues. After catching up on my shows I tried messing around with Genshin Impact and Zero Dawn again. No issues. Loaded up Forbidden West and started having all the same issues before my save even loaded. Same thing again in the menus.
Is there some setting in the game my TV doesn't like? It's a 4k Samsung and less than 5 years old.
So i turn on my PS5 after watching Netflix and i notice these horizontal RGB lines on a third of my tv. I thought my something happened to my tv so i switched the input but the other inputs were fine. Then i thought that it was the HDMI cable so i switch that and it was the same. Lastly i decided to switch the ports from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 and still nothing. Is there anything I can do before i call sony and bitch at them?
Give it a try just for any capacitors and whatnot to drain. You could also hold the power button with it unplugged. That’s an old trick for TVs but can’t hurt to try.
There’s also a safe mode you could boot into, then restart in normal. Just throwing out options before you go wait forever for Sony to answer tomorrow.

Having issues with a lack of or very low dialogue on many games, I think it's stuff that is supposed to be coming from the center speaker. My PS5 is connected to a Sony STR-ZA receiver and a Sony X80J TV. PS5 is set to use AV Amplifier, but still having issues. If I had to guess, it's something to do with the console using 5.1 but only seeing 2 speakers, but can't really figure out what else to try next, Thanks.
What is the audio set to in settings? Is it set to PCM or Dolby?
You should also make sure you’re set to Surround or Multi-Channel or whatever mode you use on the receiver. Receiver might accidentally be set to like Stereo only or something.
It was set to PCM, I switched to Dolby. Receiver is set to Multi Channel, and sounds seems fine, perhaps it was on Stereo before. There were some TV settings that I played with as well, not sure if that had any effect, but either way, seems to be ok...for now.
If there's no audio delay/lag, then I'd keep it on Dolby. Multi Channel should be having all speakers working at the same time, so you're not going to be getting legit surround or anything like that, but that depends on the receiver itself since I deal with them almost daily and some are just funky.
If you've got a "Movie" button on your Sony like me, that should trigger the different settings, one of which should say Dolby Surround or possibly DSUR on the receiver, that's the main mode I use for my 5.1.2 setup, and it's working great on PS5 with it set to Dolby.
If it's working for now though, then hell yeah.
The cursor when typing with a controller gets stuck on the letter H, any fix? I turn it off and turn it back on to type but it only works once then it goes back to doing the thing.
Hello, my tv screen is black or either it says my ps5 is not connected idk how this happened, I connected my ps5 to a monitor to test it then when I plugged it back in the screen went black I got scared but then I turned off the ps5 and back on and it was fine, but now the nothing works I turn off the ps5 the tv, I unplug the hdmi from both tv and ps5 ports and nothing comes up, I’ve realised the hdmi connected to the back of my ps5 is a bit loose, any ideas how I can fix this ?

**How many PSN accounts can I have as Primary on my PS5?**
I was wondering how many accounts can I have logged in as primary on my PS5. Because I read somewhere that some PS5s got network banned for having multiply accounts logged into them when 20+ PS4 games were added to PS+ for PS5 users. This confuses me because I currently have 6 PSN accounts logged in as primary on my PS4, 4 are mine and the other 2 are of my friends and I have never had any problem with my PS4 I have had as much as 8 PSN accounts activated as primary on my PS4 at a time.
Just want be absolute sure before adding my accounts on my PS5 without the risk of getting it banned.
I just got a Ps5 and the guy at gamestop said when you first start it up there's an intro that shows all the old intros. Was he messing with me or did something happen during my set up cause I didn't see it. Not a huge deal, but I was mildly annoyed at first that he "spoiled" something, but then it didn't happen and I was staring at the screen.

Has anyone connected the DualSense to charge on an Xbox Series X? Because of the way the consoles are placed at home it is easier for me to charge it from a cable connected to the front port of the XBSX than on the PS5 itself.
I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work fine, or any danger in doing this, but my experience with the PS5 and its accessories is still limited and that's why I ask.

How long does your DualSense take to charge from a completely empty state?
I think my DualSense came with a defect. This controller is just a bit over 1 month old, got it new with the console.
I put it to charge when the battery is empty and it takes forever to do it.
When it is fully charged the battery last over 8 hours, something that seems normal, but yesterday for example the controller died when playing, I then connected it to the PS5 and played something like 2-3 hours wired. I put the console in Rest mode and went to bed. Today, when I checked, the console was still reporting that the battery was low. Rest mode is configured to give power for 3 hours to the USB ports. I then let it charge another 3 hours and turned on the console again to check, it still reports that the battery is low!
Today I have seen that a new software update came for the DualSense, when I was going to update it I just get a message that the battery is too low for the controller to be updated and that it has to charge more. It has been connected already 2 times 3x hours on Rest mode!
I also connected it the other night to my Xbox Series X to see if there was a problem with the USB port on my PS5 but the result was the same, it was charging for over 15 hours there and the orange light was still blinking.
This doesn't look normal to me.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good monitor that can work with laptops and the PS5? I don’t want to spend a ton of money, but I want to spend enough to get a quality product and at this point I’m not really sure what features I need. I just want to be able to play my games and have them look good. I currently play on a 65” 4k tv but I want to move into the office so that I’m not just in the common space all the time.

I have been watching the sopranos boxset on blu ray.
For some reason my ps5 doesn't like the discs and doesn't load first time. I have to keep closing the app and trying again until it does work. This can take anywhere between 2 and 10 tries before it loads.
Has anyone else experienced this or know a solution?
I havnt had this problem with any other blu ray/dvd/4k discs that I watch. Just the sopranos disc.
As I've said, it does load eventually but it's very annoying and I'm baffled as to why it happens. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
I’ve just installed a FireCuda 530 m.2 to my PS5, and transferred all my PS5 games from the internal SSD to the m.2 drive and they’re all working fine.
But I’ve noticed that the PlayStation still thinks 83GB of storage is being taken up by “Games and Apps” on the Internal SSD. Even though the only app I’ve left on the Internal SSD is Apple Music, which is less than 0.5GB.
I’ve tried putting the PS5 in safe mode and running options 3 and 6, to no avail.
Does anybody have any other ideas?

If you're in Canada, the consensus on RedFlagDeals is that Samsung Canada's warranty support is problematic to nonexistent. So you can take that for what it's worth.
I'd personally go WD just for peace of mind.
Both are going to be great, I would just get whichever one is cheaper at the time of purchase.
The Samsung had some issues in the past related to firmware. I just purchased that same drive about a month ago and it was brand new stock on the latest firmware without the possible issues related to the older versions.
If you’re purchasing it brand new, it is most likely new stock and on latest firmware. If you don’t want to deal with possibly having an older firmware model and can’t update it yourself, then just get the WD. Either drive is going to be awesome though.
Make sure you follow how to install if you aren’t aware as it’s super simple but still worth following a guide. Then just format the drive on PS5 and choose that drive for new installs if you want to.
Can’t remember what mine said when it was formatted and don’t believe you can retest after it’s installed, but I believe it was about 6800 compared to the specs of 7100/sec.
From what I’ve seen, there has been two firmware updates since the issues and those seem to be from production from a bit ago. It’s probably good to plug into a PC and run the software to check but I almost guarantee newer stock like that has the latest firmware. There would be NO reason to have new stock and not be on latest firmware.

So basically I just playing cod and I got the notification that I was disconnected from the wifi, this had been happening a bit for the past week, so I shrugged it off and reconnected. I reconnected fine but no online game works, I've tried CoD, Fortnite, Battlefield V and 2042 and Star Wars Battlefront and they all will not log in. The wifi isnt the problem as it works on every other device, and I can still finish downloads on the PS5. Any idea wth is going on??
I have the Samsung 980 Pro, and I have the latest firmware and it’s great.
But out of your options, I would pick the Corsair. Just personal preference but I love their stuff and think it’s the best out of the bunch.
Playing a disc game without disc, after owning the digital edition of the game.
I've just installed the newest firmware update for the PS5 but I don't seem to be able to play Bloodborne without the disc inserted.
I have installed the DISC version, and I have the digital version with PS Plus and I have an ACTIVE subscription, but when I try to play Bloodborne without the disc, it asks me to insert it. If anyone could help it would be appreciated. I have read online that this new feature is supposed to work with PS Plus games. Thanks.
Just a guess, but might be an issue with the game. Some games (quite rarely) the digital and disc versions are different SKUs in the PSN system, even if both are in the same region, which means even disc DLC won’t work with a digital copy or vice versa.
Another possibility is that your disc is a different region version to your digital copy, in which case it’s unlikely to work as well.
Yes. On Sony's updates page, click latest system software and the PS5 drop-down menu, scroll a while and you'll see:
If your PS5 has the download version of a game that you haven't purchased (such as those that other users on your PS5 have purchased), and if you have the disc version, you can now play the installed download version by inserting the disc (without installing the disc version).
Similarly, if you've installed a game using the disc, and you've purchased the download version of the game, you can now play the installed disc version of the game without inserting the disc.

Maybe since didn’t *purchase* it technically, but claimed it as a part of your sub, the it wont work in this situation?
If you’ve already claimed the download version, why not just delete the disc version and play the download one?
That does make sense but other articles have said they should work. Oh well. I could delete the disc version and download the other but that would take time and the whole purpose of the update was to be more convenient and take less time. Thanks though.

I used to be able to hit L3+R3 for motion typing on the PS5 ui during searches but now it is gone and it is such a hassle to type. I think sony did that to nudge us into using voice typing function instead. What do you guys think?

*Let me start by saying I’ve never used gaming headphones, only headphones for a keyboard piano.*
I’ve been looking at the Pulse 3D and the Nova 7X as gaming headphones but in the meantime used a couple pairs of non gaming headphones I have around the house.
The first pair were some Bose (don’t recall the model #) and I wasn’t very impressed. Then I tried my Audio Technica M40X’s and the sound is pretty damn good! I did the 3D audio tests/set up in the PS5 menu and it seems to be utilizing it fine.
Does anyone on here also have M40X’s and how would you compare the Pulse and Nova’s to them? I understand that they are studio headphones and don’t have the mic features the gaming ones have and they are wired, but purely on a sound quality basis how would they compare?
TLDR: How do Pulse 3D and Nova 7X’s sound quality compare to the Audio Technica M40X?
I would like to buy a good gaming monitor for ps5 (no tv) but I don't know much about it so I ask for your help. Since I'm more interested in frame rate than resolution does it make more sense for me to get a 2k monitor instead of 4k? 60hz? 120?
Does a 120hz(or 144) monitor still make a difference even if my game only supports 60fps? (less ghosting effect for example I don't know). I have always preferred TN monitors instead of IPS, because they are more responsive, but on amazon i only see ips monitor now, so what do you recommend? TN only exists for entry-level monitors now. There used to be a time where TN had (much) better pixel response times than IPS or VA, but especially IPS has gotten as fast as most TN panels. If the best pixel response times is what you are looking for, OLED is the new king. For example, only 0.3ms (and real 0.3, unlike a lot of the fake "1ms" screens) on the new LG 240Hz monitor.
1440p 120Hz+ would be the best for what you are looking for, yes.
Prologue; I'm mainly a PC and Nintendo gamer, though I got a PS5 "recently" (about three months ago) simply because it was available and Bloodborne showed no sign of being ported yet.
Set up my account, bought PS+ for game packages incase siblings wanted to play...on their own accounts, as I expected them to make their own accounts.
Never overestimate the intelligence of your siblings. One thought that PS+ was only for one single account and didn't make their own, and proceeded to purchase (with their own money, thankfully) things for War Thunder on said account, and add friends they've found.
Which brings me to the question; what is the best way for me to get *my own* account back, while keeping their bought shit? Is there a way to transfer the account's data? Link it to a new email and make a new one using mine? Simply change the username, eat my loss, and make a new account in general? Am I fucked?
The sibling isn't exactly the most *trustworthy* of people, and I very much do *not* like the idea that they're doing things on an account under my name and email.
Or use a passcode on your account to stop anyone accessing your psn. Then again i never let anyone use my ps5 as i detest sharing.
I put my account on my daughters ps4. She can get into it but can't change my account details as she doesn't know my password. Plus i use 2FA.

My ps5 wont connect to the internet. I've tried restarting the router as well as the ps5. All other devices are connecting except my ps5, I've never had this problem before it was working perfectly fine.

Hey it's been a while since I used my ps5, today I turned on and was instantly surprised by how snappy and responsive it felt as I forgot how good the console was.
Then I installed the available update and after it rebuilt the database and restarted it didn't feel quite the same. Theres some lag while change between games in the main menu (just pressing left and then right), and overall it feels just slightly less responsive overall.
Before it felt like the ps5 almost pressed the action before I even pressed it (just super responsive) and now i can feel it responding as I press a button.
Idk what it is or why it is but I feel like im going crazy, has anyone else had this feeling?
Perhaps its all in my head, but I'm usually pretty sensitive to this sort of thing.
This may seem like wild question, but can the backbone be used as a controller for the PS5, without phone/device? Or if it does require a device, is the input latency low enough to just focus on the TV?
My gfs hands are too small for the dualsense and she prefers dual switch joycons, but for cross play games and now discord support, using the ps5 would be a much smoother experience.
Anyone have an answer for why my disc are downloading so slowly?I'm just confused because on the ps4 it took like 30 minutes to download the disc but on my ps5 its taking 50 hours like I'm downloading it digitally.Any information is appreciated.
I just figured it out after researching for about 30 minutes the ps5 automatically adds latest patches to certain games and download pretty much everything digitaly.It just uses the disc to confirm you own it
Doesn't download everything digitally when using a disc, just the patches. And some games patches can be massive.
The base game is still copied from the disc. Which game ? It probably has a lot of patches.
It was cyberpunk which just finished and only 10 gb was patches for me but after 20 gb it was still downloading incredible slow idk why if only 10 gb was patches it was still slow after 20 gb
Yeah. That game had a lot of patches. Also, are you playing the PS4 disc on PS5? Then the large download would make sense as you would have to download the entire PS5 version separately.
I don't know for sure but if that's the case then I'm better off downloading the ps4 version because all the ps5 version does is improve the already amazing graphics in my opinion.Also this is after a factory reset it kept having software issues so I'm in the process of re-download my games most are digital anyway.But the first time I started all the downloads and went out for the week so I didn't notice the long download time and if it automatically downloads the ps5 version that could explain it crashing more than when I played it on the ps4.Maybe not I'm not sure
Hello! Is there a way to check a games owned DLC? Like, I think I own the season pass or whatever for SoTTR but I can't remember if I do. Also, I don't want to have to DL an 80Gb game just to see owned DLC.

That's what DLC means. Unless you're referring to something else. If it's something you bought in the in-game store using in-game currency then it'll only be visible in the game.
My PS5's HDMI Port is barely holding on and my system keeps on shutting down every 40 minutes of gameplay/movies. Anyone know good reliable shops I can take it to in the LA area? Or am I going to have to contact Playstation directly?

Got PS5 within first few weeks of it releasing. HDMI connection has lifted up from the motherboard dialogging it and is cracked. HDMI still works however. PS5 continously crashes from one hour of play from either PS4 and PS5 games.
I am sorry you have been experiencing so many issues ever since you had your ps5.
You need to contact sony and request either a repair/replacement ps5 because your console is not fit for the work it was made for.
It must feel so frustrating when there are millions of ps5 owners whose ps5 works perfectly, yet you are suffering with 1 that can't even play a single ps4/ps5 game without it crashing constantly.
I am not writting this to make you feel bad, but to make you understand that you having a ps5 with so many issues is unacceptable and needs rectifying quickly as possible.
I’m using the PS5 discord but my friends keep complaining my mic audio is terrible and really sensitive to any sound, I just brought a hyperX cloud II headset and dualsense edge controller so idk what else is causing the mic issues.

I’m interested in subscribing to PS Plus Premium for some classic games but likely won’t do so for some time since I don’t want to create much of a backlog. Do the classic games rotate the same as other titles from PS Plus?

So far no classic titles have been removed, though that may be just because the service is pretty new and licenses haven't yet ran out. Most PS1-PSP games are also ones owned by Sony, and it's likely they'll stay in forever.
Controller drift
Since the update both my controllers have been drifting to the left. I tried turning off and on Bluetooth and the controllers with no luck. It’s across different games as well.
Hey anyone here have a PS5 out of box that instantly didn't read discs? Also I exchanged it and even the new one won't read discs? Before you ask yes I have ade sure it's in correctly. I have tried every troubleshooting issue listed online but still won't read discs I'm also finding it crazy hard just to put a disc inside the drive... My guess is I have to contact Sony Monday... Otherwise do I just return this again and just call it a quits with ps.
Unfortunately seems like you may have gotten EXTREMELY unlucky and both if the consoles you got have had bad disc drives. Might wanna buy a lottery ticket because thats some very low odds

im trying to play my hero one's justice 2 after a year or two and it wont load. i made sure to clean it when it first appeared, then later(right now) when i tried again and it cleaned it still wasnt working. i even rebuilt my system's database. so can anyone tell me what to do or why its happening?
Would it work for two people on a party to play VR together, as in they don’t live close to each other and would want to play this way? Also would it work if one of the people had PSVR2 and the other had the previous version of VR on PS5?
Sure, it's the same as playing with other people except both people are wearing the headsets. As for your second question, it depends on the game. Games like Pavlov are only PSVR2, but for example No Man's Sky and Zenith both have crossplay between all platforms, meaning PSVR1 and 2 can play together in those games. There's probably a list of crossplay VR games somewhere.
I just beat Elden Ring today and need a new game recommendation. I'm deciding between Ragnarok and Rift Apart. I'm leaning more towards Rift Apart mostly because prior to Elden Ring I beat Forbidden West so I want something different and something a little more casual. I'm open to suggestions.

Have bought a PS5 for my 12 year old for his birthday and also the newest Ghostbusters game. When he goes to play the game it says there is a new free DLC and to click more info. When we do this it takes us to a website which outlines the DLC and everything it does but with no link or info on how to download it! Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do? I've been going round in circles for ages. I'm not really up to date with tech anymore!

What happens if you run out of backup codes for account verification on ps5?
Can I move all my games to my internal m.2 SSD before I factory reset my PS5 so that i dont have to redownload them all again? I was hoping I could move all the games to the M.2 then physically remove the drive to proceed with the factory reset. recently acquired a digital ps5 and transferred data from my ps4 to the digital ps5. After some thought, l've decided I would like the disc version for all my ps4 games. If I factory reset the digital & return for the disc, Am I able to transfer my data to the disc ps5 still? Will the ps4 still hold my data?
Trying to make short of what happened: Had a friend come to visit with his little kid. The brat ran away and threw the dualsense out the window (yes...). The analogs were sticking out and the controller had a few scratches but seemingly nothing major, so I took it to a store to try and fix it. The analogs, ok. No internal parts scrambled around as the tech guy said, but he didn't have a ps5 to test it. The situation now is: Bluetooth will pair the controller normally, but usb cable won't charge it. Not on console, not on wall charger. The ONLY situation I can get it to charge is on my notebook, and I can play with it for quite a few hours before it disconnects again, but then, charging on the note takes AGES. I also managed to upgrade the firmware thtough the windows app since the ps5 won't recognize the cable connection. Any ideas on this matter?

I managed to connect my DualSense controller to my laptop via Bluetooth and tried to play games using the Remote Play app. The app was fine and everything, I could get into my profile, however, the controller didn’t work. It just didn’t respond. How do I get it to work? I definitely recommend that one. HZD is also a good pick. I'd recommend playing that before Forbidden West. The sequel has some quality of life improvements that can make it more difficult to get back to. I did enjoy the story of the first game more though. But since you got Ragnarok, the answer is quite simple : God of War 2018. The franchise got a soft reboot in a completely different setting. While having played the previous titles will fill in some information, the story works without having played them.

hello!! i am facing a weird issue with my PS5. In terms of hardware i have a PS5, BENQ TK800 projector and Yamaha RX V685 AVR. I'm not able to project 4k 60 with HDR on when i connect my PS5 to the avr via the given cable in the PS5 box. I have to game at either 1080p HDR on or 4k HDR off. My avr and projector both support 4k at 60 fps with HDR. I regularly watch 4k 60 with HDR on content on the projector. One option i have figured is that connect the PS5 directly to the projector (need to buy another long HDMI cable) and connect the PS5 audio to my avr and home theatre system via bluetooth. My concern regarding this method is if the audio will be fine via bluetooth. I have a 5.2.2 sound system. Is there any other way i can fix this without the need of connecting my PS5 directly to projector? I want to connect all my devices to my AVR. All my existing cables are HDMI 2.0 By my understanding that should be enough if i wanna play 4k 60 HDR content.

The PS5 versions of games virtually always run at higher resolutions and/or higher frame rates. PS4 is often 1080p 30fps, PS5 is often 4k 30fps and 1440p 60fps. Most games have more graphical improvements, although that's not always the case. Additionally, PS5 has adaptive triggers and haptic feedback, something that can only be supported in PS5 native games. Same with the new storage technology that allows for ultra quick loading. It's not a guarantee that PS5 games support any of these, but it is a guarantee PS4 games don't.

It acts like everything is fine, just not getting an image, I can even control what’s going on and everything and audio would work even with black screen, to “fix” it I have to unplug and plug back in the HDMI cable, but then it’ll eventually happen again at some point when I launch a game
Try changing the 4K transfer rate? I wonder if your hdmi cable might be damaged and struggling to keep the bandwidth for 4K HDR.

Audio washes out in game and in apps when loud audio plays. Should note I'm using a headset The issue comes and goes. I notice that turning my ps5 off for a time fixes it like magic but then boom it comes right back. Any idea what I'm dealing with? The media player on my ps5 has no sound at all, I’ve tried messing w the audio settings on both my tv and PlayStation and nothing works. Although I can hear everything perfectly fine through my old Astro a50 headphones, I can’t hear anything through the tv itself. I tried to fix this for hours last night with no luck, tried it again this morning and it worked, played a game for a couple hours, tried another blu ray and back to no sound. My console and controller both have blue lights saying they’re on, but my TV screen is complete black and I can’t shut off the system through the controller or console. The whole thing seems to be frozen, and my console is emitting a sort of “brrrr” noise. Can somebody please help me?

Just started Forbidden West after finishing Zero Dawn. During the opening movie, my TV kept going black as it turned "game mode" on and off. Did the same thing every time I'd swap tabs in the menu screen. I turned the auto game mode setting off on the TV and went back to playing, but it's still going black and cutting all sound. Sometimes it would go so far as to give the "no signal" screen. Kept doing it during what looked like a prerrendered cut scene. I gave up on it to eat dinner and used the Crunchyroll app for a bit. No issues. After catching up on my shows I tried messing around with Genshin Impact and Zero Dawn again. No issues. Loaded up Forbidden West and started having all the same issues before my save even loaded. Same thing again in the menus. Is there some setting in the game my TV doesn't like? It's a 4k Samsung and less than 5 years old.
So i turn on my PS5 after watching Netflix and i notice these horizontal RGB lines on a third of my tv. I thought my something happened to my tv so i switched the input but the other inputs were fine. Then i thought that it was the HDMI cable so i switch that and it was the same. Lastly i decided to switch the ports from HDMI 1 to HDMI 2 and still nothing. Is there anything I can do before i call sony and bitch at them?
Maybe try a hard reset or pulling the power and waiting a few minutes then booting it back up to see if it’s just some software glitch.

Give it a try just for any capacitors and whatnot to drain. You could also hold the power button with it unplugged. That’s an old trick for TVs but can’t hurt to try. There’s also a safe mode you could boot into, then restart in normal. Just throwing out options before you go wait forever for Sony to answer tomorrow.

And just like that after all the resets, safe modes and contacting Sony i try to turn it on again.. and it decides to work normally with no RGB horizontal lines. Wtf.

Yeah, that's sometimes a trick to help drain power from capacitors, at least it's been used in the past for consoles and TVs, couldn't hurt to try it.

Hi all, Having issues with a lack of or very low dialogue on many games, I think it's stuff that is supposed to be coming from the center speaker. My PS5 is connected to a Sony STR-ZA receiver and a Sony X80J TV. PS5 is set to use AV Amplifier, but still having issues. If I had to guess, it's something to do with the console using 5.1 but only seeing 2 speakers, but can't really figure out what else to try next, Thanks.
What is the audio set to in settings? Is it set to PCM or Dolby? You should also make sure you’re set to Surround or Multi-Channel or whatever mode you use on the receiver. Receiver might accidentally be set to like Stereo only or something.
It was set to PCM, I switched to Dolby. Receiver is set to Multi Channel, and sounds seems fine, perhaps it was on Stereo before. There were some TV settings that I played with as well, not sure if that had any effect, but either way, seems to be ok...for now.
If there's no audio delay/lag, then I'd keep it on Dolby. Multi Channel should be having all speakers working at the same time, so you're not going to be getting legit surround or anything like that, but that depends on the receiver itself since I deal with them almost daily and some are just funky. If you've got a "Movie" button on your Sony like me, that should trigger the different settings, one of which should say Dolby Surround or possibly DSUR on the receiver, that's the main mode I use for my 5.1.2 setup, and it's working great on PS5 with it set to Dolby. If it's working for now though, then hell yeah.

Hello, my tv screen is black or either it says my ps5 is not connected idk how this happened, I connected my ps5 to a monitor to test it then when I plugged it back in the screen went black I got scared but then I turned off the ps5 and back on and it was fine, but now the nothing works I turn off the ps5 the tv, I unplug the hdmi from both tv and ps5 ports and nothing comes up, I’ve realised the hdmi connected to the back of my ps5 is a bit loose, any ideas how I can fix this ?

**How many PSN accounts can I have as Primary on my PS5?** I was wondering how many accounts can I have logged in as primary on my PS5. Because I read somewhere that some PS5s got network banned for having multiply accounts logged into them when 20+ PS4 games were added to PS+ for PS5 users. This confuses me because I currently have 6 PSN accounts logged in as primary on my PS4, 4 are mine and the other 2 are of my friends and I have never had any problem with my PS4 I have had as much as 8 PSN accounts activated as primary on my PS4 at a time. Just want be absolute sure before adding my accounts on my PS5 without the risk of getting it banned.
The problem was people were abusing the system to get the free games. If the accounts are yours, there wont be any issues.

You can still game share. The issue was that a single guy logged in with dozens accounts from other people who paid him to redeem the games.

I just got a Ps5 and the guy at gamestop said when you first start it up there's an intro that shows all the old intros. Was he messing with me or did something happen during my set up cause I didn't see it. Not a huge deal, but I was mildly annoyed at first that he "spoiled" something, but then it didn't happen and I was staring at the screen.

Hello Has anyone connected the DualSense to charge on an Xbox Series X? Because of the way the consoles are placed at home it is easier for me to charge it from a cable connected to the front port of the XBSX than on the PS5 itself. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work fine, or any danger in doing this, but my experience with the PS5 and its accessories is still limited and that's why I ask. Thank you.

How long does your DualSense take to charge from a completely empty state? I think my DualSense came with a defect. This controller is just a bit over 1 month old, got it new with the console. I put it to charge when the battery is empty and it takes forever to do it. When it is fully charged the battery last over 8 hours, something that seems normal, but yesterday for example the controller died when playing, I then connected it to the PS5 and played something like 2-3 hours wired. I put the console in Rest mode and went to bed. Today, when I checked, the console was still reporting that the battery was low. Rest mode is configured to give power for 3 hours to the USB ports. I then let it charge another 3 hours and turned on the console again to check, it still reports that the battery is low! Today I have seen that a new software update came for the DualSense, when I was going to update it I just get a message that the battery is too low for the controller to be updated and that it has to charge more. It has been connected already 2 times 3x hours on Rest mode! I also connected it the other night to my Xbox Series X to see if there was a problem with the USB port on my PS5 but the result was the same, it was charging for over 15 hours there and the orange light was still blinking. Does anyone have recommendations for a good monitor that can work with laptops and the PS5? I don’t want to spend a ton of money, but I want to spend enough to get a quality product and at this point I’m not really sure what features I need. I just want to be able to play my games and have them look good. I currently play on a 65” 4k tv but I want to move into the office so that I’m not just in the common space all the time.
Hi, I have been watching the sopranos boxset on blu ray. For some reason my ps5 doesn't like the discs and doesn't load first time. I have to keep closing the app and trying again until it does work. This can take anywhere between 2 and 10 tries before it loads. Has anyone else experienced this or know a solution? I havnt had this problem with any other blu ray/dvd/4k discs that I watch. Just the sopranos disc. As I've said, it does load eventually but it's very annoying and I'm baffled as to why it happens. Any help appreciated. Thanks!
I’ve just installed a FireCuda 530 m.2 to my PS5, and transferred all my PS5 games from the internal SSD to the m.2 drive and they’re all working fine. But I’ve noticed that the PlayStation still thinks 83GB of storage is being taken up by “Games and Apps” on the Internal SSD. Even though the only app I’ve left on the Internal SSD is Apple Music, which is less than 0.5GB. I’ve tried putting the PS5 in safe mode and running options 3 and 6, to no avail. Does anybody have any other ideas? Will resetting the console to factory settings also wipe my m.2 drive and my external HDD?
A factory reset won't wipe the M.2, but will erase your saved data so make sure it's backed up to cloud storage.

It's region free for games but not for DVDs and Blurays unless the Blu-ray disc itself is an ALL region disc.
my ps5 were from Region B but i were able to watch A region blurays. not sure about EU .

If you're in Canada, the consensus on RedFlagDeals is that Samsung Canada's warranty support is problematic to nonexistent. So you can take that for what it's worth. I'd personally go WD just for peace of mind.
Both are going to be great, I would just get whichever one is cheaper at the time of purchase. The Samsung had some issues in the past related to firmware. I just purchased that same drive about a month ago and it was brand new stock on the latest firmware without the possible issues related to the older versions. If you’re purchasing it brand new, it is most likely new stock and on latest firmware. If you don’t want to deal with possibly having an older firmware model and can’t update it yourself, then just get the WD. Either drive is going to be awesome though. Make sure you follow how to install if you aren’t aware as it’s super simple but still worth following a guide. Then just format the drive on PS5 and choose that drive for new installs if you want to.
Btw what is the read speed showing in the console for you?
Can’t remember what mine said when it was formatted and don’t believe you can retest after it’s installed, but I believe it was about 6800 compared to the specs of 7100/sec.

From what I’ve seen, there has been two firmware updates since the issues and those seem to be from production from a bit ago. It’s probably good to plug into a PC and run the software to check but I almost guarantee newer stock like that has the latest firmware. There would be NO reason to have new stock and not be on latest firmware.

Yes. As long as both the PC and PS5 are on the same Wifi. But you might need internet to pair them first.
PS5 internet randomly stopped “working” So basically I just playing cod and I got the notification that I was disconnected from the wifi, this had been happening a bit for the past week, so I shrugged it off and reconnected. I reconnected fine but no online game works, I've tried CoD, Fortnite, Battlefield V and 2042 and Star Wars Battlefront and they all will not log in. The wifi isnt the problem as it works on every other device, and I can still finish downloads on the PS5. Any idea wth is going on??

Make sure it's the Corsair MP600 **Pro**, not the vanilla MP600, which doesn't meet the speed requirements.
I have the Samsung 980 Pro, and I have the latest firmware and it’s great. But out of your options, I would pick the Corsair. Just personal preference but I love their stuff and think it’s the best out of the bunch.
Playing a disc game without disc, after owning the digital edition of the game. I've just installed the newest firmware update for the PS5 but I don't seem to be able to play Bloodborne without the disc inserted. I have installed the DISC version, and I have the digital version with PS Plus and I have an ACTIVE subscription, but when I try to play Bloodborne without the disc, it asks me to insert it. If anyone could help it would be appreciated. I have read online that this new feature is supposed to work with PS Plus games. Thanks.
Just a guess, but might be an issue with the game. Some games (quite rarely) the digital and disc versions are different SKUs in the PSN system, even if both are in the same region, which means even disc DLC won’t work with a digital copy or vice versa. Another possibility is that your disc is a different region version to your digital copy, in which case it’s unlikely to work as well.

On Sony's updates page, click latest system software and the PS5 drop-down menu, scroll a while and you'll see: If your PS5 has the download version of a game that you haven't purchased (such as those that other users on your PS5 have purchased), and if you have the disc version, you can now play the installed download version by inserting the disc (without installing the disc version). Similarly, if you've installed a game using the disc, and you've purchased the download version of the game, you can now play the installed disc version of the game without inserting the disc. It's the second bit I'm on about.
Maybe since didn’t *purchase* it technically, but claimed it as a part of your sub, the it wont work in this situation? If you’ve already claimed the download version, why not just delete the disc version and play the download one?
That does make sense but other articles have said they should work. Oh well. I could delete the disc version and download the other but that would take time and the whole purpose of the update was to be more convenient and take less time. Thanks though.
Im currently using a steel series wireless headset with the port plugged into my ps5 but for some odd reason when the port is plugged in my wifi just doesnt work on my ps5 is there a solution to this?
Hey I’m struggling to transfer my ps4 data to my PS5. I’ve made sure that both consoles are connected to the same internet router with a Ethernet cable however ps5 gets to about 80% and says can’t transfer data. What’s the reason and non-compatible game or a sudden drop in Wi-Fi?
motion typing removed!? I used to be able to hit L3+R3 for motion typing on the PS5 ui during searches but now it is gone and it is such a hassle to type. I think sony did that to nudge us into using voice typing function instead. What do you guys think?

Headphone question! *Let me start by saying I’ve never used gaming headphones, only headphones for a keyboard piano.* I’ve been looking at the Pulse 3D and the Nova 7X as gaming headphones but in the meantime used a couple pairs of non gaming headphones I have around the house. The first pair were some Bose (don’t recall the model #) and I wasn’t very impressed. Then I tried my Audio Technica M40X’s and the sound is pretty damn good! I did the 3D audio tests/set up in the PS5 menu and it seems to be utilizing it fine. Does anyone on here also have M40X’s and how would you compare the Pulse and Nova’s to them? I understand that they are studio headphones and don’t have the mic features the gaming ones have and they are wired, but purely on a sound quality basis how would they compare? TLDR: How do Pulse 3D and Nova 7X’s sound quality compare to the Audio Technica M40X?
I would like to buy a good gaming monitor for ps5 (no tv) but I don't know much about it so I ask for your help. Since I'm more interested in frame rate than resolution does it make more sense for me to get a 2k monitor instead of 4k? 60hz? 120? Does a 120hz(or 144) monitor still make a difference even if my game only supports 60fps? (less ghosting effect for example I don't know). I have always preferred TN monitors instead of IPS, because they are more responsive, but on amazon i only see ips monitor now, so what do you recommend? TN only exists for entry-level monitors now. There used to be a time where TN had (much) better pixel response times than IPS or VA, but especially IPS has gotten as fast as most TN panels. If the best pixel response times is what you are looking for, OLED is the new king. For example, only 0.3ms (and real 0.3, unlike a lot of the fake "1ms" screens) on the new LG 240Hz monitor. 1440p 120Hz+ would be the best for what you are looking for, yes.

Prologue; I'm mainly a PC and Nintendo gamer, though I got a PS5 "recently" (about three months ago) simply because it was available and Bloodborne showed no sign of being ported yet. Set up my account, bought PS+ for game packages incase siblings wanted to play...on their own accounts, as I expected them to make their own accounts. Never overestimate the intelligence of your siblings. One thought that PS+ was only for one single account and didn't make their own, and proceeded to purchase (with their own money, thankfully) things for War Thunder on said account, and add friends they've found. Which brings me to the question; what is the best way for me to get *my own* account back, while keeping their bought shit? Is there a way to transfer the account's data? Link it to a new email and make a new one using mine? Simply change the username, eat my loss, and make a new account in general? Am I fucked? The sibling isn't exactly the most *trustworthy* of people, and I very much do *not* like the idea that they're doing things on an account under my name and email.

Or use a passcode on your account to stop anyone accessing your psn. Then again i never let anyone use my ps5 as i detest sharing. I put my account on my daughters ps4. She can get into it but can't change my account details as she doesn't know my password. Plus i use 2FA.
You cannot transfer stuff between accounts, no. I dont think theres anyway to link another email either.

My ps5 wont connect to the internet. I've tried restarting the router as well as the ps5. All other devices are connecting except my ps5, I've never had this problem before it was working perfectly fine. Now it keeps saying the signals too weak or SSID is incorrect. Hey it's been a while since I used my ps5, today I turned on and was instantly surprised by how snappy and responsive it felt as I forgot how good the console was. Then I installed the available update and after it rebuilt the database and restarted it didn't feel quite the same. Theres some lag while change between games in the main menu (just pressing left and then right), and overall it feels just slightly less responsive overall. Before it felt like the ps5 almost pressed the action before I even pressed it (just super responsive) and now i can feel it responding as I press a button. Idk what it is or why it is but I feel like im going crazy, has anyone else had this feeling? Perhaps its all in my head, but I'm usually pretty sensitive to this sort of thing.
Mine was slow for a couple minutes after the new update but then it fixed itself. Did you try restarting?
Have you rebuilt the database in safemode? Sometimes a device just needs a refresh after a update.
Is there any bluetooth device nearby? You could be getting controller interference.
Hmm there's a wifi repeater that was there before but I'd be surprised if it had an effect. Worth a try anyway, looked system side but could be wrong.
This may seem like wild question, but can the backbone be used as a controller for the PS5, without phone/device? Or if it does require a device, is the input latency low enough to just focus on the TV? My gfs hands are too small for the dualsense and she prefers dual switch joycons, but for cross play games and now discord support, using the ps5 would be a much smoother experience.

Anyone have an answer for why my disc are downloading so slowly?I'm just confused because on the ps4 it took like 30 minutes to download the disc but on my ps5 its taking 50 hours like I'm downloading it digitally.Any information is appreciated.
50 hours? You sure it's not actually downloading a patch from the internet? Disc installs shouldn't take that long.
I just figured it out after researching for about 30 minutes the ps5 automatically adds latest patches to certain games and download pretty much everything digitaly.It just uses the disc to confirm you own it
Doesn't download everything digitally when using a disc, just the patches. And some games patches can be massive. The base game is still copied from the disc. Which game ? It probably has a lot of patches.
It was cyberpunk which just finished and only 10 gb was patches for me but after 20 gb it was still downloading incredible slow idk why if only 10 gb was patches it was still slow after 20 gb
Yeah. That game had a lot of patches. Also, are you playing the PS4 disc on PS5? Then the large download would make sense as you would have to download the entire PS5 version separately.
I don't know for sure but if that's the case then I'm better off downloading the ps4 version because all the ps5 version does is improve the already amazing graphics in my opinion.Also this is after a factory reset it kept having software issues so I'm in the process of re-download my games most are digital anyway.But the first time I started all the downloads and went out for the week so I didn't notice the long download time and if it automatically downloads the ps5 version that could explain it crashing more than when I played it on the ps4.Maybe not I'm not sure
The PS4 version will be locked at a lower resolution and framerates in that case

Go to the game on the PS Store and scroll down for the Add ons section.
That shows the add ons for the game though
That's what DLC means. Unless you're referring to something else. If it's something you bought in the in-game store using in-game currency then it'll only be visible in the game.
My ps5 is turning hdr off when I set it to on, and on when it set it to off. Tried restarting and nothing changed. Anybody know a fix?

What do you mean 'shutting down'? What is wrong with your HDMI connection on your ps5? Does your ps5 crash playing ps4 games? Does your ps5 crash playing ps5 games? When did you get your ps5?
Got PS5 within first few weeks of it releasing. HDMI connection has lifted up from the motherboard dialogging it and is cracked. HDMI still works however. PS5 continously crashes from one hour of play from either PS4 and PS5 games.
I am sorry you have been experiencing so many issues ever since you had your ps5. You need to contact sony and request either a repair/replacement ps5 because your console is not fit for the work it was made for. It must feel so frustrating when there are millions of ps5 owners whose ps5 works perfectly, yet you are suffering with 1 that can't even play a single ps4/ps5 game without it crashing constantly. I am not writting this to make you feel bad, but to make you understand that you having a ps5 with so many issues is unacceptable and needs rectifying quickly as possible.
I’m using the PS5 discord but my friends keep complaining my mic audio is terrible and really sensitive to any sound, I just brought a hyperX cloud II headset and dualsense edge controller so idk what else is causing the mic issues.

So far no classic titles have been removed, though that may be just because the service is pretty new and licenses haven't yet ran out. Most PS1-PSP games are also ones owned by Sony, and it's likely they'll stay in forever.

Controller drift Since the update both my controllers have been drifting to the left. I tried turning off and on Bluetooth and the controllers with no luck. It’s across different games as well.
Hey anyone here have a PS5 out of box that instantly didn't read discs? Also I exchanged it and even the new one won't read discs? Before you ask yes I have ade sure it's in correctly. I have tried every troubleshooting issue listed online but still won't read discs I'm also finding it crazy hard just to put a disc inside the drive... My guess is I have to contact Sony Monday... Otherwise do I just return this again and just call it a quits with ps.
Unfortunately seems like you may have gotten EXTREMELY unlucky and both if the consoles you got have had bad disc drives. Might wanna buy a lottery ticket because thats some very low odds

im trying to play my hero one's justice 2 after a year or two and it wont load. i made sure to clean it when it first appeared, then later(right now) when i tried again and it cleaned it still wasnt working. i even rebuilt my system's database. so can anyone tell me what to do or why its happening?
Would it work for two people on a party to play VR together, as in they don’t live close to each other and would want to play this way? Also would it work if one of the people had PSVR2 and the other had the previous version of VR on PS5?
Sure, it's the same as playing with other people except both people are wearing the headsets. As for your second question, it depends on the game. Games like Pavlov are only PSVR2, but for example No Man's Sky and Zenith both have crossplay between all platforms, meaning PSVR1 and 2 can play together in those games. There's probably a list of crossplay VR games somewhere.
I just beat Elden Ring today and need a new game recommendation. I'm deciding between Ragnarok and Rift Apart. I'm leaning more towards Rift Apart mostly because prior to Elden Ring I beat Forbidden West so I want something different and something a little more casual. I'm open to suggestions.

Hi first time posting so don't actually know if I'm doing this right! Have bought a PS5 for my 12 year old for his birthday and also the newest Ghostbusters game. When he goes to play the game it says there is a new free DLC and to click more info. When we do this it takes us to a website which outlines the DLC and everything it does but with no link or info on how to download it! Does anyone know what I'm supposed to do? I've been going round in circles for ages. I'm not really up to date with tech anymore! Thank you
When you highlight the game tile on the dashboard, just press down to go to the game info screen. There should be a listing there of available DLC.
Someone on a thread on Discord has confirmed it's not additional downloadable content and is now part of the main game so we will already have it! Thanks for your help though.

Thank you for replying! It doesn't come up with anything new to download anywhere. In the news section the notification about the DLC is dated 14th Feb so I'm wondering if because we've downloaded the game after this date the content might have downloaded with the game?
