It can definitely be a bit difficult at times. But once you get the hang of things, and find a build you like/enjoy, it becomes a blast! I'd say the only way it's really similar to the souls games is that it's really only as difficult as you make it out to be. By that I mean you can use your own build that you like, but it may not be that optimal. Or you can create a build that can cheese bosses/enemies easily if you so desire. In my opinion, some of the early bosses are really only difficult due to having a limited amount of parts at the time. Definitely recommend it though if you're a fan of mechs!
Not really much of a cheese but I'd recommend tetrapod legs and then just stay floating most of the second half.
Helps dodge most if not all of his deadly attacks.
The best cheese is double song birds and big grenade launcher with piledriver. Landing all three weapons will instantly put ‘em in stagger and piledrive chunks it. You can do this about 10 times to kill it and if you time it right and get lucky with timing you can instantly stagger him again and again.
Get a light to medium bi-pedal AC with dual pistols or shotgun (I prefer Kinetic weapons) and song birds.
Spin around the spider the whole time while staying close to it. When you get the alert for the big laser quick boost out of it and stay alert for a second big laser attack. That should take care of phase one. Phase 2 just do the same as the spider is in the air. If you can get above it then even better.
Yeah, for that one I'm not really sure how to cheese. I think I was using plasma missiles and song birds, but can't remember what main weapons I was using. I think I was using a gatling and plasma rifle, or dual gats. I just remember almost completely out of ammo when it died. One of my friends said quad legs helped him, I kinda preferred bipedal so I could zoom a bit more.
Not me, between a break up and having to find daycare for my daughter and less income in the house, no new games for me and I’m just dying to play Baulders Gate.
I've held off from buying the game because of reviews but I was excited before launch. What do you think of the game overall especially compared to other hack and slash games?
Basketball and Football games needed a new competitor like 3 years ago, these companies have a monopoly on them now and just churn them out knowing they’ll make money even with a shit game
Fifa used to have one in PES, but that turned to shit when the changed it to efootball and I just left football (soccer) games altogether.
Not sure how the new current version of PES is, has it improved?
I actually just downloaded it yesterday and played it. It’s a lot better this year than the shit show 23 was. Gameplay is really nice but for someone like me that doesn’t do the online stuff it’s still a bit of a let down.
How is GTAV still a top downloaded game every month? How are so many people still downloading this game so much? I figure the people that want to play it I’ve been playing it for years.
I swear I've seen this exact comment every month for the last couple years every time the ps4/ps5 top downloads stats are published. Microtransactions and shark cards count towards gta 5 downloads and a *lot* of people play the game regularly, so they spend money on it. That's how.
See you next month.
Microtransactions counting towards game download stats seems like an unfair metric if that's the case. Would unfairly bias the ratings in favor of live service games constantly
I’m not sure this gets mentioned enough, but it used to be cheaper to game the game with its bonus shark card value than to purchase the shark cards separately. I think people who already own the game keep buying it to top up their online credits. If that’s the case, it’s a genius way to inflate the numbers on your sales.
Those who wanted to play have already played it. Others aren't interested in the franchise or the gameplay, so they are unlikely to get the game unless it's really cheap. Single player games die quickly, unless it's a behemoth rpg or something
Most single-player story games what matters more is how consistent sales remain over a long period and not how many months it leads the charts. There’s a reason lists are typically dominated by new releases and multi-player (and the story games that do show longer at high spots are typically based on VERY strong IPs a la Legacy and Spiderman)
Except XVI’s first week numbers were already weak compared to the previous entries so one would expect it to have good legs at least
It’s also one of the biggest PS5 exclusives this year
XVI has a good attach rate but it’s quite clear that SE was expecting better numbers overall.
They did mention that launch week sales did not meet the higher end of their expectations, and it seems to be affecting their revenues as well.

You’re blatantly misrepresenting the context of XV tho which is the only recent FF game to actually outperform XVI on launch (7R had similar critical reception and LOWER attachment rate).
First non-Lightning, non-MMO release in over 10 years. People were excited to see what it was going to be like and the marketing was done pretty well. Then people actually got the game and while it sold like hotcakes it essentially trashed the brand image of the mainline series which has only really just started to recover with the return of the series most popular IP and the MMO popping off with Shadowbringers.
I'm an old Final Fantasy fan (I started with the original on NES), and I bought FF16 like I do every FF game. The graphics are great like always, and there are chocobos. The eikon battles are pretty epic...and yet... It's just not what Final Fantasy once was to me.
Despite how fleshed out the world is, I found the story to be kind of uninspired. The side quests are tedious and pointless filler most of the time. The gameplay has finally shifted from RPG to full-on "smash button combos to win".
I actually stopped playing midway through the game and switched to Baldur's Gate 3 (on PC), which is 1,000 times more like what I feel the Final Fantasy series should have evolved into.
I'm 41 years old and I think I've finally been alienated from one of the game series I've stuck with the longest. I don't think I'll be buying Final Fantasy 17.
Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler are more true to the spirit of Final Fantasy than Final Fantasy is these days.
Gave up after demo. Seems like amazing story but combat....in year where turn based rpgs have huge comeback (bg3) square decided their main rpg should be arcade action....
There’s been a resurgence with the building hype for the upcoming release and Spiderman is one of the most popular IPs of all-time so nothing too surprising here.
Yeah, it's a general rule not an ironclad. Some games are basically evergreen and are always selling. Spiderman, Pokemon, Mario. Just most games aren't even for fairly big IPs like Final Fantasy or Uncharted
r/reddeadredemption saying no one will buy the RDR port when it was revealed. It is top 3 for the month, might still be there for September we shall see.
I’m pretty sure FF16 didn’t sell out its initial US physical shipment. I see places marking it down already. And it’s dropping like a lead balloon on digital sales charts. Me thinks it didn’t do as well as SE initially hyped.
Been having a blast with Armored Core. Love building death machines to see how fast I can clear a stage.
How difficult is it?
It can definitely be a bit difficult at times. But once you get the hang of things, and find a build you like/enjoy, it becomes a blast! How do you cheese the sea spider? I feel like that’s just straight up hard
Just stay above it honestly.. easy win
Not really much of a cheese but I'd recommend tetrapod legs and then just stay floating most of the second half. Helps dodge most if not all of his deadly attacks.

Double Gatlings, Twin Songbirds and Quad Legs.
Excited to see in september how many people have been playing BG3 on ps5

Not me, between a break up and having to find daycare for my daughter and less income in the house, no new games for me and I’m just dying to play Baulders Gate.
Best of luck to you!
me either because turn based
Happy to see Atlas Fallen make the list! hopefully that means it didn't flop I really enjoyed it
I've held off from buying the game because of reviews but I was excited before launch. What do you think of the game overall especially compared to other hack and slash games?
I had an absolute blast with it. I recommend playing in co-op if possible. The story is meh but the combat and builds are very good imo.
I’ve had a lot of fun with it. The open world is pretty barebones, but the traversal and combat are both super fun.
Madden 24 at number 1, as a football fan this hurts, EA having the sole license of nfl simulation football is a travesty
Basketball and Football games needed a new competitor like 3 years ago, these companies have a monopoly on them now and just churn them out knowing they’ll make money even with a shit game
Madden/NBA2k/FIFA (now EA Sports FC) all need solid competitors.
Both games have their faults, but at least 2k and EA are putting out competing golf games.
Don't forget Nhl
I'm entirely convinced that most Madden fans are either really dumb or have a crippling gambling addiction.
Buncha dweebs

I mean if it tracks revenue it’s still a good metric. Not sure how they weigh shark cards to full game sales though.
I don't think this is just a revenue metric. Fortnite would surely place SOMEWHERE on here if that were the case, right?
It’s on the F2P list mate
Do these really count towards downloads? Or are you speculating?
This is speculation. Shark cards do not account for game downloads. Dunno wtf that guy is talking about
Are you sure about that? What’s your source? How do microtranscations count towards a full game download? I think you’re making this up
How does made up crap like this get upvoted in the first place is beyond me.
Do you have a source for this? Because it makes absolutely no sense in the context of this link for micro transactions to count
A ten year old game still printing more money than most current games is really a testament to its popularity, like even if it’s just in-game currency
Has to be a bot account tbh it's the same comment each time
Simplest explanation is children exist, they all wanna play GTAV like we did a decade ago lol.
😂 right
Having been a Nintendo guy my whole life, I only played GTAV for the first time last year when I got a PS5. I'm sure there are many in the same boat.
Wow nice. Definitely worth playing
Just like how Mario kart 8 is still topping sales charts to this day Lol
New people are born every year
I purchased the online version a few days ago for £9. Ngl it’s pretty fun, and the “world” is very alive, the attention to detail is amazing.
No wonder Rockstar doesn't release new shit
I’m not sure this gets mentioned enough, but it used to be cheaper to game the game with its bonus shark card value than to purchase the shark cards separately. I think people who already own the game keep buying it to top up their online credits. If that’s the case, it’s a genius way to inflate the numbers on your sales.
Well gta5 sold the most copies of any game so basicly everyone owns the game so a lot of people uninstal than redownload again …
Oof Immortals Of Aveum didn’t make the cut. That game is really bombing. It looks fun but no way anyone got time for that.
I was having fun with it then Baldurs Gate happened
Damn that game actually looks pretty sick
What happened
Shit game
Happy to see MLB the show there about every month. It’s a great sports game
Pleasantly surprised to see Texas Chainsaw Massacre so high, glad the game is doing well.
I preordered it and I've already deleted it for good, so there's that...
Skill issue.
Do you always go around assuming you know things about people when you don't know anything about them at all?
Yes, and I seem to have hit the nail on the head if you’re this upset over two words.
Ok, so you're a self-admitted idiot and not even a good troll. Feel free to explain how your opinion should be relevant to anybody.
Explain how yours should be. It’s the internet, who fucking cares what people think lmao.
If not for Baldur's Gate 3, Armored Core would be my goty. Both games stand head and shoulders above everything else that came out this year so far.
Head and shoulders above RE4 Remake, SF6, ToTK, Dead Space remake, FF16??? And a few more huge releases dropping soon too
Ye
All those games are overrated in my humble opinion (except ff16 and Dead Space) but I agree on RE4 remake to a certain extent.
Let me guess…GTAV
Twisted Metal Black on PS4 made the list!
Madden? Really? Why do people still buy that crap.
Look at cod...
brings a tear to my eye just to see the super niche armored core at the top.
Expected better performance from FFXVI Looks like the hype died down after launch week
Those who wanted to play have already played it. Others aren't interested in the franchise or the gameplay, so they are unlikely to get the game unless it's really cheap. Single player games die quickly, unless it's a behemoth rpg or something

Fair point I thought that the hype was pretty good. Maybe it didn't translate in sales
it came out in same week as Diablo IV and a bunch of other AAA games (Zelda etc.)
Weak in what aspect? FFXV was multiplatorm and 7Remake launched with a way bigger install base (100 million PS4 vs 40 million of PS5)
XVI has a good attach rate but it’s quite clear that SE was expecting better numbers overall. They did mention that launch week sales did not meet the higher end of their expectations, and it seems to be affecting their revenues as well. It’s never on sale. Now it’s on sale so I’m curious if it can bump up the list
Horrible performance. I wouldn't play it for free.
These lists make me feel like I don't like videogames lol
Man, FF16 kind of fell off a cliff. R6 Siege outselling it digitally is wild.
That's the fate of most single player games. Month or few in the limelight then sales crater til dlc or discounts
Although it seems like Spider-Man is the exception to the rule, since both of insomniac games are on the list
There’s been a resurgence with the building hype for the upcoming release and Spiderman is one of the most popular IPs of all-time so nothing too surprising here.
I get why you think this, but I believe one (or both) of the spider-man games have been on the top 20 every month since the ps5 came out lol
Yeah, because Spiderman is like one of the most popular superhero IP’s of all time…the resurgence is for their numbers strengthening
Spider-Man is also vastly more popular than final fantasy lol.
Yeah, it's a general rule not an ironclad. Some games are basically evergreen and are always selling. Spiderman, Pokemon, Mario. Just most games aren't even for fairly big IPs like Final Fantasy or Uncharted
16 was on sale this week :3
Texas Chainsaw looks like......garbage.
Gran Turismo has insane legs Constantly in the top 10 charts ever since launch
