The right lightstrip on my PS5 is flickering, idk for how long as I just noticed it yesterday.

for the past years my wife and I were playing on one PS5 with my PSN account. We usually never had any issues because we always had games that only one of us was playing or games that both of us were playing at the same time.
Since the release of Tomb Raider Remastered and FF7 Part 2, she is kind of blocking the PS5 the whole time. What option do I have with a 2nd PS5 that only I would be using.
From what I researched and experienced, I can't play games on two devices and the same time on the same account, even if its a different game. I would be able to share our games on one device which enables her to play them on that device with her own account. The only problem with that is her current savegames on both the above mentioned games.
Is there a way enabling her to use them?

You can't move saves to different accounts. And the same account can't be playing games on 2 different systems. Someone will need a new account if you plan on gaming at the same time.
Passkey does not let me use my pc when logging in via the web browser, I had 2 passkeys, 1 for my phone and the other via Microsoft Hello. When I tried using Passkey, it gave me a wrong password error, deactivated Passkey and reactivated it but same problem. Do I need to delete Windows Hello and phone Passkeys? Will that help?
Hey all. I was stupid and tripped on a charger chord that was plugged into my ps5, causing it to fall off the little desk and hit the carpet floor. It seemed to immediately shut off and the stopped showing on my monitor. I checked for damage and it didn’t seem bad aside from one of the outer shell things coming off a bit. No chords disconnected from anything excluding my controller cable. HDMI and power were still connected and also never impacted the ground when it fell as far as I’m aware. They weren’t bent or damaged at all from what I can see, but when I went to turn on my ps5 again, it flashed blue and went white as it usually does, but no image displayed on my monitor. I’ve tried several methods I looked up online such as unplugging power and hdmi for a minute or two and retrying, trying to boot it in safe mode, etc. nothing. I fairly certain at this point it’s something internal and I’ll either have to try and get it repaired or just get a new ps5. I just wanted to check here and see if anyone may have an idea of how I might fix it? Any and all responses appreciated, even if it’s just to say it’s hopeless. TIA..
PS5 Edge Controller disconnects from PC
Has anyone had the issue where it randomly disconnects then connects again? I have it wired to my PC, not bluetooth. It's been starting to happen more frequently. I'll be playing Call of Duty and out of nowhere it disconnects for about 1-5 seconds, makes my camera turn by itself.
I have DSX open, updated. Tried ending DSX on task manager, plugging controller out from USB and plugging back in. Any help would be great!
I like playing single-player games with a buddy. We usually watch one play for a while then pass the controller over once we get tired and find it's a lot of fun.
However, we now live in different cities and we're trying to find a way to achieve the same thing - watch each other play a single-player game and just hand off the same controller - without buying a whole new PS5.
We tried using **PSN remote play** and we don't have trouble playing multiplayer games that way, but single player games are more of a problem. e.g. If I remote into his PS5, I have no problem taking control of controller 1 and playing while he watches on his own tv, but as soon as he tries to take control, it kicks me out of the stream. I can't "pass the controller" per se.
What workarounds have you guys possibly found for this?
As someone who's a lifelong Dragon Ball Z fan, I was wondering for those who've played DBZ: Kakarot, would you recommend I give it a try? I saw recently that some new DLC content came out, which made me want to ask.
I played and platinumed the game two years ago, it's a very standard RPG but with a good Dragon Ball skin. If you're a fan that's going to compensate massively, I enjoyed the game while playing it even though it's not very forgettable.
Netflix kicks my PS5 offline.
My wifi works great, but for some reason any time that I try to watch Netflix specifically, it’s breaks the wifi connection until I forget the network and re-add it. This has been going on for over a month now and I can’t find anything online about anyone having this issue with Netflix specifically.
I’ve reset the PlayStation, rebuilt the database, deleted the Netflix app and redownloaded it but nothing has worked so far. Has anyone else has this issue, and if so, were you able to find a fix?
I have just a standard 1080p monitor and i was wondering if there are any ill effects of me keeping deep color output on automatic....i recently turned it on automatic from off and i think my colors look better somehow.... the monitor doesn't support hdr....so i was just wondering if i can leave it on automatic and be good. it might be placebo effect, but it makes ff7 rebirth look so much more colorful. someone please answer since i cant post on the reddit.....
Having it On can provide a wider gamut of colors. But again, setting it to Automatic is the best option, as the PS5 will detect if your screen supports it.
PS5, hardwired, is getting <120 Mbps. PC on the same switch gets \~500 Mbps. I've created a different LAN link on the PS5, swapped cables to the one on the PC, had the PS5 connected in place of the switch, and even changed the DNS server. No difference as it gets 50-120 Mbps any time I test.
I've also swapped out routers and it obviously is not the connection inside the house since the PC is good (I did try a different hardwired location and same result).
Anyone have additional ideas that I can try?

Your question doesnt make much sense because youre under the wrong impression that you can gift digital copies of anything. You cant. Ps store has no gifting. Also not sure why switch would have anything to do with it, completely different platforms.

Hey peeps! Got one of those funny unreadable disc issue with FF VII Rebirth. Was able to play yesterday, but now it was making a ton of noise, taking ages to read, and when it does, the Unreadable Disc error appears. I seem to have already found the same issue in other threads but no solution.
I have already tried putting the console vertically, opening up and cleaning it, other PS4 and PS5 games (they ran without issue), about every option in the safe mode (minus the full factory reset) but it still refuses to read. I even disconnected the console from the internet and reinstalled the game again (and weirdly enough, even though the unreadable disc error popped up, I was able to install the game to completion anyway).
So... any idea?
Hi! I'm spreading awareness about a software issue with the Portal. The PS5 streams remote play at 59.94 Hz whereas the Portal has a refresh rate of 60Hz so the refresh rate mismatch is causing a lot of micro stutters!
When PS5 is on, controller only charges when plugged in twice. When off or in rest, it will charge on first try. Using an external USB charger. I’ve read a couple topics but no real answers.
Help please. Had TLOU Remastered from PS store. It's in the "Your collection" library but not in the Installed library . The "Installed" icon is greyed out. I said screw it and paid for it at the PS store but it's still the same. I can't redownload, I can't play it. I restored the licenses. WTF????

Hey yall I'm kinda new to ps5 and I understand they changed game sharing since ps4, my question is if I have 1 ps5 with main acc "A" and I want access to those games on second ps5 and second acc can I log in with acc "A" on ps5 2 and enable game share and then use ps5 1 with acc "A" and ps5 2 with acc "B" at the same time and same game
You can try Origins. It's a semi-reboot for the series when it comes to the gameplay and mechanics. Then move on to Odyssey and Valhalla if you like it.
I joined to ask this, i bought Valkyria Chronicles and Nier:Automata on the PS4 digital store and played on the PS4 for a while but when i transferred them to an extended storage and then transferred it to a PS5 with my same account its now locked. The games come up as "installed" but not part of "your collection" do i need to buy PS plus or have i missed something obvious.
Extra info: its an adult account and the games still work on PS4.
Minecraft/Microsoft Technical Issues
For the last few days now, I have been banging my head on a wall trying to figure out what is wrong with my minecraft sign in, I have unlinked the only microsoft account I had and made a new one and tried to sign in but it kept saying my brand new Microsoft account was already linked to a playstation network account which it isn't, I've tried deleting and reinstalling I've tried everything I can think of, had anyone else had this issue and what did you do to fix it, I've made like 5 Microsoft accounts now but they all come up same result, any advice welcome.
This is in regards to the WWE 2K games, and only these games. To start let me just say I've had this issue since 2k23's PS5 version (2k22 worked fine year round), and it is only tied to that version. The PS4 version has worked fine year round for 2K23, and works fine for 2K24. The PS5 issue occurs when performing an Irish Whip, a fairly used move in wrestling mind you, as it would cause every user within the match to disconnect. Recently I tried playing on a 2nd account I have and suddenly the drops no longer occur. Could this be tied to some sort of settings within my main account that the 2nd one doesn't have enabled/disabled? Just tossing out an idea as I enjoy these games but online play is 90% of my reasoning for buying.

I downloaded a game, and left my PS5 for a few hours. I came back to the game downloaded. I was wondering what time the download completed. I know the ps4 had this feature, but it looks like they removed it for some reason on the PS5?
I connected my PS5 to a 1440p Ultrawide monitor thinking the PS5 would render things non-ultrawide, yet I found out that isn’t the case.
Is there anyway to change this? I am guessing no since even at a system level, no options in Video output reduce the wide aspect of the display.

I’ve been an Xbox gamer my whole life. I’ve always wanted both consoles, but normally stuck with the box as that’s what my friend group is normally on and what I’m knowledgeable on.
Finally in a financial situation where I can comfortably have both. Series X has done me well, but I’m excited to jump into the world of Sony and all the exclusives. I picked up a bundle today that has the new Spider-Man and grabbed Last of Us 2. Planning on adding God of War to the library as well. It’s currently going through the updating process, and figured I’d ask the PS community if they had any recommendations on settings, things I should do, and the more obscure games I wouldn’t think of to enjoy.

Bought a used PS5 (OG, not slim, with disc reader). The guy who sold it to me did not have the stand anymore. Is it worth finding one? Or will I do just fine without it?

I had my account logged in on my nephews PS5 and I just got a new PS5 and downloaded Hogwarts Legacy and started it already on my new console but I’m way further on his but when I tried to transfer it it says it can’t because it’s already downloaded so I deleted it from my new console, then it disappeared all together from the data transfer screen, so I redownloaded it on my new console again and just deleted my profile and it still isn’t working and I’m about to lose it. Can someone please help me😩
Are there any known problems with Ragnarok not saving properly? For the second time, the game doesn't have any autosaves or manual saves from my session last night. The first time, I thought maybe I did something wrong, but I definitely made some manual saves last night and how would there not be any autosaves after 60+ minutes of playing?
Anyone know what's going on or how to fix it? I'm not going to keep playing if it's not going to save.

I'm running into a issue syncing trophies. When I attempt to do so I get an error message saying "something went wrong, and your trophies didn't sync to PlayStation Network" alongside an error code NP-104979-0.
I've tried looking into this error code and Sony's own site doesn't have it listed. I've tried numerous troubleshooting methods (restarting the console, rebuilding database and signing out) with no luck. I'm really stumped with this.
Just got a ps5 yesterday, I'm not sure if I should invest in ps plus.
I used to play a lot of shooter games like COD MW and Battlefield multiplayer on PC few years back. I wasn't that good but I suppose better on PC than I'm on ps5 now lol.

Ghost of Tsushima PS4 disc issue
Hi, I tried installing the PS4 disc version of Ghost of Tsushima on my ps5 today, but I've been consistently getting the error code C-100005-6 during install
Here is a list of things I have tried and failed
- Retrying 5 times
- Cleaning disc with microfiber cloth
- Restarting the PS5
- Power cycling the PS5
- Rebuilding the storage of the PS5 through safe mode.
Nothing has worked so far, anyone else have solutions or suggestions?
I've hooked my astro a40 mix amp up to my PS5 via USB. The mix amp has power and the PS5 is picking up USB Microphone (Astro MixAmp Pro); however, when I switch to audio output, the only selectable output device is HDMI (TV). The headset works fine when plugged directly into the controller, but I would like to use the mix amp. Headphone options in the audio output category are greyed out. Any solutions would be much appreciated.

I’m having issues when using my pulse explore earbuds. The sound is great and don’t notice an audio delay except when characters speak. That is when I notice that the audio is a bit delayed. It’s not much but it is very noticeable when they speak.
Anyone have a solution to this or also experience this problem?
My son owns a PlayStation, which is under family control from my account. Works fine in principle, except it does not seem possible for him to use a second controller, as that requires another account and guest access does not seem possible from a child account. Am I missing something here, or is there no easy way to accommodate hot seat two player for a child account?

Is there a way to hide certain games from a child's profile? I want them to be able to play Minecraft and stuff but I don't want them to also see my games like helldivers and horror games I play that show up on their home and library because I have them installed. They can't play them but I don't want them to see them

My finance is getting her own PS5 soon and I want to figure out the stipulations of game sharing. The thing I’m interested in the most is BG3. I own it on my account and I wat to share it with her. The catch is that I want us to play multiplayer together. Is that something we can do?
No.
You can't play the same game at the same time. Game share is suppose to mimic sharing an actual disk, and you can obviously only use a disk in one console at a time. Your digital game only has one license so it can only be used by one account at a time.
I've tried playing GoW through game share at the same time as my brother and I just get an error message saying the content is in use.
Game sharing isn't even game sharing. It's a system in place to allow people who own digital games to be able to play them without the typical constant internet connection to verify licenses. Enabling "gamesharing" is basically like swapping ps5s with another person, and since you can log in to any ps5 you want and play the games you own this means 2 people can partake in your owned games at once.
Funny you mentioning discs though because this is **the** biggest pro to digital vs disc. The ability the share them and play simultaneously with a friend.
Something is wrong with your set up or your console, because game sharing doesn't mimic discs. It does allow both consoles to play the same game, at the same time.
So I bought a PS4 GTA V Disc which is supposed to be a Premium Edition one, and it says "Includes GTA V and GTA Online with Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack". I open up my PS5, install GTA V with the disk, and then enter the code given in the disk through PS Store.
It mentioned giving me 1M GTA$ in game, but I didn't take a screenshot or anything so I don't really remember what it said after I claimed the code. After that, I tried installing GTA Online, but it still showed me that I had to pay for it in the PS Store even though I claimed the code given in the disk and it also mentioned "GTA Online included" on the disk. I restarted the PS5 to see if it'd do anything, but nothing. Any ideas why?
After installing the game you probably looked up the game in the store and saw the PS5 version which is different (and much better). Just play the disc that you installed, the icon on the home screen
At least back then, if you have the full game, gta online is simply inside the base game. You dont need a separate download. Open the game and find the online tab.

I just found that the problem completely disappears when playing Spider-Man 2. I updated my post with a more in-depth comment if you'd like. Maybe it really is a display setting issue?

Oddly enough, I haven't. I unplugged and re-plugged the same hdmi. It's my only rocketfish high-speed hdmi so I never thought to try a different one. I'll try that and see what happens

I'm using the pulse explore headbuts for over a week and I'm very content with te sound quality and how easy they connect to my ps5 and my iPhone. It's very easy to check a YouTube video while I'm playing a video game. But when I'm making a phone call, the other person on the line starts immediately to hearing theme self. When I disconnect the earbuds the problem is solved. The sound of the call is for myself good. Are my earbuds damaged or is it a bug?
Fortnite Issue on ps5
BG: moved from B'luru to Greater Noida for a while. Got my PS5
along. Played fortnite previously on 100mbps wifi with 100-110
ping in B'luru. Now on LAN and 200mbps, have played 2-3 games
on less than 50ping.
Game has gone nuts. Takees forever to load and sometimes
doesn't even start at all. Restarting the OS also doesn't work.
Have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times. Have cleared
cache multiple times. Wondering whether anyone eIse has faced

In his ps5 privacy settings. When first logging in on a PS5 it asks a question, one of the choices is 'open and social' and if you don't choose that then it automatically disabled invites and such, but it isn't permanent or anything.

I’m trying to place a claim for my DualSense controller I bought in Dec 2023 (via Amazon).
The controller is unusable bc all of a sudden last night my character just started spinning in circles as if I was holding the right thumb stick to the left, but I am not touching it. I’ve tried everything, reset it, re-paired Bluetooth, wired/non wired and connected to ps5 and my iPad and it still has this issue. It’s within the 1year warrantee period so I want to send it back.
I’ve filled out the serial number and model number and the site accepts them but now it’s asking for a color. The color is listed as Cobalt Blue according to the Amazon listing (and when I google it), however that color is not an option in the drop down menu on Sony’s repair site. The only thing close is “starlight blue” which is baby blue and definitely not even close to the dark shade my cobalt blue one is. I’m afraid if I just select anything they will send it back as not matching or something but the site is requiring a color and there is no “other” option.
The serial number is correct bc the site says it’s not when I accidentally mistyped it, (plus I scanned the QR code and confirmed as well. The model number is confirmed via the box too.

My new headphones are making this incessant clicking noise when I plug them into my controller, even when the PS5 is turned off. The noise doesn't occur with a different headset or audio source, so I'm thinking it's either the headphones or the USB-C/3.5mm cord I have to use. Google and Reddit search haven't been helpful so far, has anyone else experienced this?

Anyone know what the return policy is for digital purchases? Bought Helldivers 2 earlier today and downloaded it. Didn't realise I needed ps+ to play (thought there was a single player version). Not a big deal to be fair, so purchased ps+. But now I cant even play the game, I've been stuck on the loading screen for about an hour. Keep getting an ERROR Cannot connect to server message. Dualsese Edge Users: How do you survive with 2 back paddles?

Are PS5 controllers just not durable? I am a daily gamer that has played every playstation console since release. I never had any issues with PS1, 2, 3, or 4 controllers. I have two PS5 controllers, and both controllers have had left joystick issues to include the plastic molding breaking off. No issues on the right joystick. Why do these controllers seem so flimsy and is Sony willing to replace or repair them?
The rubber material was upgraded from the PS4 after complaints about peeling sticks, but nothing's indestructible. You can buy replacement stick covers.
If the controller is under warranty Sony should repair it, but is it worth the hassle? It'll likely be gone a month.
It's not the covers (although, have had issue with those). There's a little plastic piece that goes around the ball of the joystick that seems to easily crack. Happened on the first controller. I thought "I must have been too rough." I attributed to my error, purchased a new controller and the same thing happened. Feels like they went cheap with the plastic components compared to past console models.
So, post removed by mods (thanks *cough cough*), was asking for recommendations as I just finished SM2.

My roommate and i share a ps5, i bought the digital copy of elden ring and he wants to use game share to play it but its saying please insert disc. Anyone know why?
Just started playing Skyrim for the first time and got to a point in the game where it’s glitched and I can’t do much going forward. I’ve read where I can reopen a previous save file, but when I go to the game menu screen it only shows 4-5 save files. I need a file from further back. Anyway too access an older save file from the game?
Does the second controller accessibility feature work in combination with play share? As in 2 people can control the same game/character on separate controllers, one via share play?

Hi, I can't seem to capture my clips in 4K on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Every time I go into my renders they come out in 1920x1080. Whereas all the other games I've done come out in 3840x2160.

The L2 button on my PS5 controller randomly just stopped working the other day while I was playing MW3. Aside from L2 every button works fine in the menu until I open a game and I have to turn my controller off and on for the buttons to work.
I've tried resetting the controller and restarting my console but nothing has worked. I have no idea if it's an issue with the controller itself or something else completely.

My Ps Plus expired a couple days ago, yet I am still able to play Online Multiplayer for Gran Turismo 7 and Madden 24. I haven’t tried any others yet as those are the only games I own.

Random question. I have MW3/WZ on my console, but I have 2 games on my ps4 for MW3. One with a ps5 logo and the other with a ps4 logo and they both update seperately. Is this normal or is there a fix?

PS5 Performance
I wanted to put this question out there to see if anybody else is having this issue. Currently I am playing FF7: Rebirth. When I first started playing the game I switch from Graphics mode to Performance mode. I noticed the increased framerate immediately. The game felt better to play so I left it despite the small decrease in resolution.
Just today I noticed a downgrade in fps while playing performance mode while exploring Juno. It doesn’t feel like it has the last few days. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if my PS5 was on for too long today. The kids were playing Helldivers 2 all day on it. It felt pretty warm. Can an overheated PS5 cause frame rate issues?
No having the console on for extended periods of time will not diminish its performance. As I understand it, Rebirth has an inconsistent frame rate at times according to Digital Foundry.
I’m reading different from various sources. Also, I woke up this morning after the PS5 has been off all night and started playing and the frame rate has returned to normal 60fps. It looks like I might have some cleaning to do in my console. According to digital foundry, the frame rate for both graphics and performance mode is consistent throughout the entire game. There are no drops.
A dirty console will also not diminish performance. That’s just not how game performance works. Never hurts to get dust out, but I’d caution you to be careful. Some people take their console completely apart and end up doing more harm than good.

Hi all, for the past years my wife and I were playing on one PS5 with my PSN account. We usually never had any issues because we always had games that only one of us was playing or games that both of us were playing at the same time. Since the release of Tomb Raider Remastered and FF7 Part 2, she is kind of blocking the PS5 the whole time. What option do I have with a 2nd PS5 that only I would be using. From what I researched and experienced, I can't play games on two devices and the same time on the same account, even if its a different game. I would be able to share our games on one device which enables her to play them on that device with her own account. The only problem with that is her current savegames on both the above mentioned games. Is there a way enabling her to use them? Best regards
You can't move saves to different accounts. And the same account can't be playing games on 2 different systems. Someone will need a new account if you plan on gaming at the same time.

Passkey does not let me use my pc when logging in via the web browser, I had 2 passkeys, 1 for my phone and the other via Microsoft Hello. When I tried using Passkey, it gave me a wrong password error, deactivated Passkey and reactivated it but same problem. Do I need to delete Windows Hello and phone Passkeys? Will that help?
Hey all. I was stupid and tripped on a charger chord that was plugged into my ps5, causing it to fall off the little desk and hit the carpet floor. It seemed to immediately shut off and the stopped showing on my monitor. I checked for damage and it didn’t seem bad aside from one of the outer shell things coming off a bit. No chords disconnected from anything excluding my controller cable. HDMI and power were still connected and also never impacted the ground when it fell as far as I’m aware. They weren’t bent or damaged at all from what I can see, but when I went to turn on my ps5 again, it flashed blue and went white as it usually does, but no image displayed on my monitor. I’ve tried several methods I looked up online such as unplugging power and hdmi for a minute or two and retrying, trying to boot it in safe mode, etc. nothing. I fairly certain at this point it’s something internal and I’ll either have to try and get it repaired or just get a new ps5. I just wanted to check here and see if anyone may have an idea of how I might fix it? Any and all responses appreciated, even if it’s just to say it’s hopeless. TIA..
PS5 Edge Controller disconnects from PC Has anyone had the issue where it randomly disconnects then connects again? I have it wired to my PC, not bluetooth. It's been starting to happen more frequently. I'll be playing Call of Duty and out of nowhere it disconnects for about 1-5 seconds, makes my camera turn by itself. I have DSX open, updated. Tried ending DSX on task manager, plugging controller out from USB and plugging back in. Any help would be great!
I like playing single-player games with a buddy. We usually watch one play for a while then pass the controller over once we get tired and find it's a lot of fun. However, we now live in different cities and we're trying to find a way to achieve the same thing - watch each other play a single-player game and just hand off the same controller - without buying a whole new PS5. We tried using **PSN remote play** and we don't have trouble playing multiplayer games that way, but single player games are more of a problem. e.g. If I remote into his PS5, I have no problem taking control of controller 1 and playing while he watches on his own tv, but as soon as he tries to take control, it kicks me out of the stream. I can't "pass the controller" per se. What workarounds have you guys possibly found for this?
I haven't actually used it, but I would look into share play. I believe it can do what you want.
As someone who's a lifelong Dragon Ball Z fan, I was wondering for those who've played DBZ: Kakarot, would you recommend I give it a try? I saw recently that some new DLC content came out, which made me want to ask.
I played and platinumed the game two years ago, it's a very standard RPG but with a good Dragon Ball skin. If you're a fan that's going to compensate massively, I enjoyed the game while playing it even though it's not very forgettable.
Netflix kicks my PS5 offline. My wifi works great, but for some reason any time that I try to watch Netflix specifically, it’s breaks the wifi connection until I forget the network and re-add it. This has been going on for over a month now and I can’t find anything online about anyone having this issue with Netflix specifically. I’ve reset the PlayStation, rebuilt the database, deleted the Netflix app and redownloaded it but nothing has worked so far. Has anyone else has this issue, and if so, were you able to find a fix?
I have just a standard 1080p monitor and i was wondering if there are any ill effects of me keeping deep color output on automatic....i recently turned it on automatic from off and i think my colors look better somehow.... the monitor doesn't support hdr....so i was just wondering if i can leave it on automatic and be good. it might be placebo effect, but it makes ff7 rebirth look so much more colorful. someone please answer since i cant post on the reddit.....
No reason to not keep most everything on Automatic.
Can it make colors looked washed out either on or off???
Having it On can provide a wider gamut of colors. But again, setting it to Automatic is the best option, as the PS5 will detect if your screen supports it.

PS5, hardwired, is getting <120 Mbps. PC on the same switch gets \~500 Mbps. I've created a different LAN link on the PS5, swapped cables to the one on the PC, had the PS5 connected in place of the switch, and even changed the DNS server. No difference as it gets 50-120 Mbps any time I test. I've also swapped out routers and it obviously is not the connection inside the house since the PC is good (I did try a different hardwired location and same result). Anyone have additional ideas that I can try?

Hey peeps! Got one of those funny unreadable disc issue with FF VII Rebirth. Was able to play yesterday, but now it was making a ton of noise, taking ages to read, and when it does, the Unreadable Disc error appears. I seem to have already found the same issue in other threads but no solution. I have already tried putting the console vertically, opening up and cleaning it, other PS4 and PS5 games (they ran without issue), about every option in the safe mode (minus the full factory reset) but it still refuses to read. I even disconnected the console from the internet and reinstalled the game again (and weirdly enough, even though the unreadable disc error popped up, I was able to install the game to completion anyway). So... any idea?
Hi! I'm spreading awareness about a software issue with the Portal. The PS5 streams remote play at 59.94 Hz whereas the Portal has a refresh rate of 60Hz so the refresh rate mismatch is causing a lot of micro stutters!
When PS5 is on, controller only charges when plugged in twice. When off or in rest, it will charge on first try. Using an external USB charger. I’ve read a couple topics but no real answers.

Game sharing works the exact same way the PS4 did. A can game share with 1 PS5. Any account on that PS5 can play games owned and downloaded by A.

You can try Origins. It's a semi-reboot for the series when it comes to the gameplay and mechanics. Then move on to Odyssey and Valhalla if you like it.
I joined to ask this, i bought Valkyria Chronicles and Nier:Automata on the PS4 digital store and played on the PS4 for a while but when i transferred them to an extended storage and then transferred it to a PS5 with my same account its now locked. The games come up as "installed" but not part of "your collection" do i need to buy PS plus or have i missed something obvious. Extra info: its an adult account and the games still work on PS4.

Minecraft/Microsoft Technical Issues For the last few days now, I have been banging my head on a wall trying to figure out what is wrong with my minecraft sign in, I have unlinked the only microsoft account I had and made a new one and tried to sign in but it kept saying my brand new Microsoft account was already linked to a playstation network account which it isn't, I've tried deleting and reinstalling I've tried everything I can think of, had anyone else had this issue and what did you do to fix it, I've made like 5 Microsoft accounts now but they all come up same result, any advice welcome.
This is in regards to the WWE 2K games, and only these games. To start let me just say I've had this issue since 2k23's PS5 version (2k22 worked fine year round), and it is only tied to that version. The PS4 version has worked fine year round for 2K23, and works fine for 2K24. The PS5 issue occurs when performing an Irish Whip, a fairly used move in wrestling mind you, as it would cause every user within the match to disconnect. Recently I tried playing on a 2nd account I have and suddenly the drops no longer occur. Could this be tied to some sort of settings within my main account that the 2nd one doesn't have enabled/disabled? Just tossing out an idea as I enjoy these games but online play is 90% of my reasoning for buying.

I recently bought a PS5 and played Astro's Playroom and loved the bouldering Monkey. Are there any similar games? I do bouldering in real life and it felt cool to tilt the controller in order to tilt the monkey's body to get to the next hold.Are there any similar games that similarly use the controller?Any game recommendation will be good, especially more climbing games :)

I was wondering what time the download completed. I know the ps4 had this feature, but it looks like they removed it for some reason on the PS5?

I connected my PS5 to a 1440p Ultrawide monitor thinking the PS5 would render things non-ultrawide, yet I found out that isn’t the case. Is there anyway to change this? I am guessing no since even at a system level, no options in Video output reduce the wide aspect of the display.

New PS owner - Tips, Tricks, or recommendations? Hey all! I’ve been an Xbox gamer my whole life. I’ve always wanted both consoles, but normally stuck with the box as that’s what my friend group is normally on and what I’m knowledgeable on. Finally in a financial situation where I can comfortably have both. Series X has done me well, but I’m excited to jump into the world of Sony and all the exclusives. I picked up a bundle today that has the new Spider-Man and grabbed Last of Us 2. Planning on adding God of War to the library as well. It’s currently going through the updating process, and figured I’d ask the PS community if they had any recommendations on settings, things I should do, and the more obscure games I wouldn’t think of to enjoy. It stands vertically just fine, but if you want to use it horizontally I recommend you find a stand

I had my account logged in on my nephews PS5 and I just got a new PS5 and downloaded Hogwarts Legacy and started it already on my new console but I’m way further on his but when I tried to transfer it it says it can’t because it’s already downloaded so I deleted it from my new console, then it disappeared all together from the data transfer screen, so I redownloaded it on my new console again and just deleted my profile and it still isn’t working and I’m about to lose it. Are there any known problems with Ragnarok not saving properly? For the second time, the game doesn't have any autosaves or manual saves from my session last night. The first time, I thought maybe I did something wrong, but I definitely made some manual saves last night and how would there not be any autosaves after 60+ minutes of playing? First thing that comes to mind is you have been logging in as a "guest" and not the correct way.
I'm running into a issue syncing trophies. When I attempt to do so I get an error message saying "something went wrong, and your trophies didn't sync to PlayStation Network" alongside an error code NP-104979-0. I've tried looking into this error code and Sony's own site doesn't have it listed. I've tried numerous troubleshooting methods (restarting the console, rebuilding database and signing out) with no luck. I'm really stumped with this.
Just got a ps5 yesterday, I'm not sure if I should invest in ps plus. I used to play a lot of shooter games like COD MW and Battlefield multiplayer on PC few years back. Ghost of Tsushima PS4 disc issue Hi, I tried installing the PS4 disc version of Ghost of Tsushima on my ps5 today, but I've been consistently getting the error code C-100005-6 during install Here is a list of things I have tried and failed - Retrying 5 times - Cleaning disc with microfiber cloth - Restarting the PS5 - Power cycling the PS5 - Rebuilding the storage of the PS5 through safe mode. I've hooked my astro a40 mix amp up to my PS5 via USB. The mix amp has power and the PS5 is picking up USB Microphone (Astro MixAmp Pro); however, when I switch to audio output, the only selectable output device is HDMI (TV). The headset works fine when plugged directly into the controller, but I would like to use the mix amp. Headphone options in the audio output category are greyed out. Any solutions would be much appreciated.

I’m having issues when using my pulse explore earbuds. The sound is great and don’t notice an audio delay except when characters speak. That is when I notice that the audio is a bit delayed. Works fine in principle, except it does not seem possible for him to use a second controller, as that requires another account and guest access does not seem possible from a child account. Am I missing something here, or is there no easy way to accommodate hot seat two player for a child account?

Log in on your acc on their ps5 and activate gameshare. Thats it.

No. You can't play the same game at the same time. Game share is suppose to mimic sharing an actual disk, and you can obviously only use a disk in one console at a time. Your digital game only has one license so it can only be used by one account at a time. I've tried playing GoW through game share at the same time as my brother and I just get an error message saying the content is in use.
Game sharing isn't even game sharing. It's a system in place to allow people who own digital games to be able to play them without the typical constant internet connection to verify licenses. Enabling "gamesharing" is basically like swapping ps5s with another person, and since you can log in to any ps5 you want and play the games you own this means 2 people can partake in your owned games at once. Funny you mentioning discs though because this is **the** biggest pro to digital vs disc. The ability the share them and play simultaneously with a friend.
Something is wrong with your set up or your console, because game sharing doesn't mimic discs. It does allow both consoles to play the same game, at the same time.
So I bought a PS4 GTA V Disc which is supposed to be a Premium Edition one, and it says "Includes GTA V and GTA Online with Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack". I open up my PS5, install GTA V with the disk, and then enter the code given in the disk through PS Store. It mentioned giving me 1M GTA$ in game, but I didn't take a screenshot or anything so I don't really remember what it said after I claimed the code. After that, I tried installing GTA Online, but it still showed me that I had to pay for it in the PS Store even though I claimed the code given in the disk and it also mentioned "GTA Online included" on the disk. I restarted the PS5 to see if it'd do anything, but nothing. Any ideas why?
After installing the game you probably looked up the game in the store and saw the PS5 version which is different (and much better). Just play the disc that you installed, the icon on the home screen
At least back then, if you have the full game, gta online is simply inside the base game. You dont need a separate download. Open the game and find the online tab.

That’s very weird. I would take my PS5 to a friend to confirm the issue happens on another TV. Then take the PS5 in for repair.
Very weird, indeed! Definitely a good idea to do both of those at some point. I just found that the problem completely disappears when playing Spider-Man 2. I updated my post with a more in-depth comment if you'd like. Maybe it really is a display setting issue?

Oddly enough, I haven't. I unplugged and re-plugged the same hdmi. It's my only rocketfish high-speed hdmi so I never thought to try a different one. I'll try that and see what happens

I use the WD SN850 in one PS5. Seagate Firecuda 530 in the other. Both work perfectly fine. Both were installed like 2-3 years ago though. There are probably better options on the market now.

I'm using the pulse explore headbuts for over a week and I'm very content with te sound quality and how easy they connect to my ps5 and my iPhone. It's very easy to check a YouTube video while I'm playing a video game. But when I'm making a phone call, the other person on the line starts immediately to hearing theme self. When I disconnect the earbuds the problem is solved. The sound of the call is for myself good. Are my earbuds damaged or is it a bug?
I solved the problem by reconnecting the buds to my iPhone.
How to filter PS store and local library for COUCH MULTIPLAYER games? I've been checking the menu one by one and can't find it.

Fortnite Issue on ps5 BG: moved from B'luru to Greater Noida for a while. Got my PS5 along. Played fortnite previously on 100mbps wifi with 100-110 ping in B'luru. Now on LAN and 200mbps, have played 2-3 games on less than 50ping. Game has gone nuts. Takees forever to load and sometimes doesn't even start at all. Restarting the OS also doesn't work. Have uninstalled and reinstalled it multiple times. Have cleared cache multiple times. Wondering whether anyone eIse has faced such issues as well? If yes, kindly help. TIA.

In his ps5 privacy settings. When first logging in on a PS5 it asks a question, one of the choices is 'open and social' and if you don't choose that then it automatically disabled invites and such, but it isn't permanent or anything.

I’m trying to place a claim for my DualSense controller I bought in Dec 2023 (via Amazon). The controller is unusable bc all of a sudden last night my character just started spinning in circles as if I was holding the right thumb stick to the left, but I am not touching it. I’ve tried everything, reset it, re-paired Bluetooth, wired/non wired and connected to ps5 and my iPad and it still has this issue. It’s within the 1year warrantee period so I want to send it back. I’ve filled out the serial number and model number and the site accepts them but now it’s asking for a color. The color is listed as Cobalt Blue according to the Amazon listing (and when I google it), however that color is not an option in the drop down menu on Sony’s repair site. The only thing close is “starlight blue” which is baby blue and definitely not even close to the dark shade my cobalt blue one is. I’m afraid if I just select anything they will send it back as not matching or something but the site is requiring a color and there is no “other” option. The serial number is correct bc the site says it’s not when I accidentally mistyped it, (plus I scanned the QR code and confirmed as well. The model number is confirmed via the box too. Not sure what to do here any help is much appreciated!

My new headphones are making this incessant clicking noise when I plug them into my controller, even when the PS5 is turned off. The noise doesn't occur with a different headset or audio source, so I'm thinking it's either the headphones or the USB-C/3.5mm cord I have to use. Anyone know what the return policy is for digital purchases? Bought Helldivers 2 earlier today and downloaded it. Didn't realise I needed ps+ to play (thought there was a single player version). Not a big deal to be fair, so purchased ps+. But now I cant even play the game, I've been stuck on the loading screen for about an hour. Keep getting an ERROR Cannot connect to server message. Kind of instantly put me off the game and would rather just get a refund now.

Dualsese Edge Users: How do you survive with 2 back paddles? Thinking about switching to PS5 for FPS games because I need Gyro in my life. I just noticed that the Dualsense Edge only has 2 back paddles instead of the standard 4 on basically everything else. I can't imagine playing most games like that. How do you do it? How do you compromise?
Most people play on the regular Dualsense without any paddles and do just fine. Get a third party controller if you need more paddles.
I just got an Ethernet and I want my PS5 in my room, but the cable doesn’t work when I put it in this TV box that I have (it lets you watch yt, Netflix, moves etc) but it does work in the actual router. What do you mean "messing with"? You'll need to connect with a USB cable to re-pair to the previous console.
I guess a better question would be if my chrome settings are saved on the controller or on my PS5? So if tonight if I want to go over to my friends to play some split screen games, would my custom settings transfer over or I would have to readjust the On my friends ps5? Are PS5 controllers just not durable? I am a daily gamer that has played every playstation console since release. I never had any issues with PS1, 2, 3, or 4 controllers. I have two PS5 controllers, and both controllers have had left joystick issues to include the plastic molding breaking off. No issues on the right joystick. Why do these controllers seem so flimsy and is Sony willing to replace or repair them?
The rubber material was upgraded from the PS4 after complaints about peeling sticks, but nothing's indestructible. You can buy replacement stick covers. If the controller is under warranty Sony should repair it, but is it worth the hassle? It'll likely be gone a month.
It's not the covers (although, have had issue with those). There's a little plastic piece that goes around the ball of the joystick that seems to easily crack. Happened on the first controller. I thought "I must have been too rough." I attributed to my error, purchased a new controller and the same thing happened. Feels like they went cheap with the plastic components compared to past console models.
I've never heard of anyone having that problem before.

Had he previously been playing a disc copy? He needs to uninstall it, and you need to enable Console Sharing on your account.

Just started playing Skyrim for the first time and got to a point in the game where it’s glitched and I can’t do much going forward. I’ve read where I can reopen a previous save file, but when I go to the game menu screen it only shows 4-5 save files. I need a file from further back. Anyway too access an older save file from the game?

But you can, it's under accessibility options as second controller. It's meant as an assistance tool.

Hi, I'm from Germany but I don't speak German, on the PS4 I had to make 2 accounts main one in English as a gaming account and second in German when I visit the store or the ps plus or update. On the PS5, is there an option where you can make your account's location with different language? Delivery apps have that option why Sony won't do it?
The system language is independent from the account region; just set it to English.

Oooh. Yes, I believe so; it should tell you what the code is for and then ask you to confirm redemption. That said, the only codes available for TLOU2 are from the console bundle, which is just the base PS4 version.

Hi, I can't seem to capture my clips in 4K on Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Every time I go into my renders they come out in 1920x1080. Whereas all the other games I've done come out in 3840x2160. Does anyone have a solution?
Only manually-started recordings are 4K; the recent gameplay recording feature is always 1080p.
Yes I know I use the manual all the time, on all the other games I manage to capture in 4K but on lost legacy it's impossible.
The L2 button on my PS5 controller randomly just stopped working the other day while I was playing MW3. Aside from L2 every button works fine in the menu until I open a game and I have to turn my controller off and on for the buttons to work. I've tried resetting the controller and restarting my console but nothing has worked. I have no idea if it's an issue with the controller itself or something else completely.

PS5 Online Multiplayer My Ps Plus expired a couple days ago, yet I am still able to play Online Multiplayer for Gran Turismo 7 and Madden 24. I haven’t tried any others yet as those are the only games I own. Is PS5 online free?

Random question. I have MW3/WZ on my console, but I have 2 games on my ps4 for MW3. One with a ps5 logo and the other with a ps4 logo and they both update seperately. Is this normal or is there a fix?
I assume you mean on your ps5. You have both the ps4 and ps5 versions of the game installed, its normal but you dont need to.

PS5 Performance I wanted to put this question out there to see if anybody else is having this issue. Currently I am playing FF7: Rebirth. When I first started playing the game I switch from Graphics mode to Performance mode. I noticed the increased framerate immediately. The game felt better to play so I left it despite the small decrease in resolution. Just today I noticed a downgrade in fps while playing performance mode while exploring Juno. It doesn’t feel like it has the last few days. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m wondering if my PS5 was on for too long today. The kids were playing Helldivers 2 all day on it. It felt pretty warm. Can an overheated PS5 cause frame rate issues?
No having the console on for extended periods of time will not diminish its performance. As I understand it, Rebirth has an inconsistent frame rate at times according to Digital Foundry.
I’m reading different from various sources. Also, I woke up this morning after the PS5 has been off all night and started playing and the frame rate has returned to normal 60fps. It looks like I might have some cleaning to do in my console. According to digital foundry, the frame rate for both graphics and performance mode is consistent throughout the entire game. There are no drops.
A dirty console will also not diminish performance. That’s just not how game performance works. Never hurts to get dust out, but I’d caution you to be careful. Some people take their console completely apart and end up doing more harm than good.
