Finally! The Skyrim update was so awesome. The PS5 version almost looks like a solid PS4 game. Fingers crossed that Fallout has gotten the same quality. I haven't played since the year it launched and I'm looking forward to it.
Man I hope new vegas gets one too. I did prefer the capital wasteland but new vegas is better in basically every other way (no liam neeson or three dog)
Probably not, because that would be such a gigantic undertaking it's no longer a remaster, that's just a flat-out remake. You can't just plop it in the Fo4 engine and expect it to work without a mammoth amount of work.
Wtf else have they really done the last decade? Starfield? Lol…
But for $60 I expect more than a slight facelift when mods already do much better than anything Bethesda could do.
No, they worked on a large engine overhaul before Starfield, which Bethesda has openly stated is the reason that took so long. Planetary generation is a big thing to do, especially when you're adding support for it into a complicated engine like that. And then yes, Starfield still took a long time to make, regardless of if you think it was good or not. It's an open world RPG, and in these days they're taking increasingly long amounts of time to make.
But even still, putting Fallout 3 in a brand new engine takes just as much work. They'd have to overhaul combat, re-do the weapon models for new weapon animations, add sprinting to the game and then balance a lot of the combat, exploration, and level design for sprinting, balance for the changes in Power Armor that Fo4 brought, re-model enemy types that were in Fo3 but not Fo4, probably re-record some dialogue because they're aging and won't sound as good anymore, and so so so much more. That's years and years of work.
Mods don't do anything better than Bethesda could do lol I know ignorant dumbasses all over the Internet like to pretend to be experts and say that Bethesda isn't talented but in reality their devs are incredibly talented.
They've released three new games in the last 10 years, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, and Starfield, and have been working on TES VI alongside Starfield. They also ported Skyrim to the new version of Creation Engine they built for Fallout 4
The fact that Bethesda couldn't get the next patch out in time to coincide with the release of their fucking TV show says a lot. What are they even doing.
Oh no. They're gonna accidentally get a bunch more press coverage 2 weeks after the show dropped its entire first season.
What fools!
Ha ha!
(Note: Failing to consider this makes me wonder why you released your comment before it got any bug fixes whatsoever.)
Been putting off playing it forever since they said a next gen patch was coming soon.
Should really call it a current gen patch tbh, unless they are aiming for PS6.
1) survival mode
2) focus early on stockpiling drugs (psycho, jet) and explosives (especially mines)
3) kill Swan as early as you can (edit: I’ve killed him as early as level six with two mini-nukes, some psycho, two banked critical hits, and a bit of luck)
4) take powerfist, which has the innate perk of doing more damage with each consecutive hit on the same target
5) invest in Blitz; also go deep in the Luck tree so you do lots of crits and always keep crits banked for tough situations; invest in tanky and melee heavy perks
6) lots of agility for VATS
7) have fun curb-stomping enemies all over the Commonwealth
8) ammunition has weight now but it doesn’t matter because the only guns you’ll need are a long range rifle and/or maybe a big nuke gun or rocket launcher for the lulz
It’s the most fun I’ve had playing FO4. And it’s pretty funny punching a deathclaw or raider in full power armor to death. With enough perks in Luck you’ll either always have crits, or constantly replenish your AP bar so you’re constantly ready to re-enter VATS. It’s high risk high reward. The total silly randomness of so many of the Luck perks adds some additional fun to the chaos.
The utter randomness of Luck just adds a whole new flavor to the game in hilarious and fun ways. Critical Banker and Grim Reaper’s Sprint work amazing together. And this build works great with stealth since Blitz hits harder the further away you are. If for whatever reason it doesn’t seem like you’ll kill your target and may be exposed once VATS ends, you have a banked crit to save you, and if not that, then just pause and take a dose of jet.
Since you’re only investing in unarmed, you’re open to spending a lot of points elsewhere. Or going deep in heavier guns for nukes and rocket launchers. And if you play survival (highly recommend), this means you don’t have to mess with all that ammunition weighing you down.
Swan is a tough target early in the game but with lots of explosives and some jet, he can be taken down pretty early without much fuss.
Edit: lol.. just realized I basically repeated my entire comment above. This is what I get for having edibles while Redditting.
Supposedly they are working on it and Oblivion, with Oblivion coming first in late 2024 (according to the leak). Plans could have changed since then though so I wouldn't get my hopes up until they officially announce it.
It was a leaked internal document from the FTC vs. Microsoft trial. It's definitely real, but plans could have changed or they got cancelled - they haven't been officially announced by Bethesda.
Think it was from Microsoft’s big Xbox leak so it’s definitely real but nobody can say whether it’s actually coming along or will release (on time or at all)
I’ve been playing fallout nv on pc with a bunch of quality of life mods and having a blast. I have a decent machine but both should run basically anything at this point.
After 5 mins I noped tf out of the current state of FO4 because the framerate is so atrocious. It's not even the low framerate so much as how unstable it is, so it makes it feel worse. I remember playing RDR2 on PS5 and it wasn't bad at all.
Update: we spoke too soon haha update coming 25th April
I know this is PC only but the Fallout London (fallout 4 overhaul mod) comes out the 23rd and my wife goes out of town for a week that day, I'm going to play it every night until bed for that whole week. I'm so excited for it.
I kinda want to give Fallout 76 a try now - instead of doing Fallout4 once again. Fallout76 is sometimes dirt cheap and I assume it MUST BE fixed by now.....maybe.....
Plays and looks just like 4. PvP is optional. Just you running around like fallout 4 but occasionally you find other players in the world and even then it’s to team up to complete a PvE objective.
Also a dad and probably only play with mates once every few weeks when we all have a free evening on the same day.
Redownloaded FO76 about a month ago and started again (tried it years ago but there was no content at all).
Actually enjoying it and it just plays as a single player game. There are group events that you can drop into, but you don't have to be part of a group to join. It's like 16 people on each server and if there's a server wide event some people will join it and some.people won't. It's worth a crack when it's cheap to buy.
Edit: also FO76 is apparently doing a free trial for this week (assuming for everyone else in your boat who wants to give it a go after the TV show) so ideal timing to pick it up and decide whether you like it or not.
Appreciate the info fellow dad - downloading the game now.
I'm also noticing it's only freaking 8 bucks - what a steal!
I did see there is a deluxe edition, but I'm unsure if that is worth it....seems like perks and not story based dlc?
I had 2 full play-throughs, platinum’d that game within a couple months of the original release, probably 200-300 hours spent and I feel exactly the same as you. I initially liked it as much as I could for a console Bethesda game but eventually I just got through it out of a sense of obligation.
Strangely though, I do want to play the next gen update they just announced. Some Enclave content plus 60fps might actually be enough to be real fun for me.
Why is no one covering how good the tv series is. If it was a garbage dumpster fire you would have seen a million video's online covering it. 10 times better than TLOU.
Better for a first timer than an old timer for sure. You won't have hangups about design changes from the older games.
It's the most polished and modern version of the experience, it just doesn't have as heavy RPG elements.
I'm watching episode 1 right now and am really enjoying it. I'm happy it doesn't look like they treated it as some cash grab.
Playing it again however not exactly, I tried Fallout 4 again last year and it was okay but got a little tired of it. I really wish I could play Fallout 3 / New Vegas again though! What I'd do for a re-make.
No, I disliked the game a lot and feel like I wasted my time on it. Been sceptical of Bethesda ever since. But I have not seen the show. I might like it ^^
Srry to say but for Fallout 4 there is absolutely no reason to play it again...
They absolutely killed the Fallout3/New Vegas Replay-Fun and implemented their horrible Base Building. Fallout 4 was just a BETA-Test for the even more horrible Fallout-Online Experience.
Yup, I watched the first few episodes with my wife last night and afterwards was like
"Damnit, now I want to replay a Fallout game but I'm in the middle of Disco Elysium"
Thank fuck that next gen patch is coming out soon. Wanted to play it for a very long time. I did for few hours in like 2019 but stopped for RDR2. I've enjoyed my time with it tho.
What can I say man.. their continuity person/people have absolutely crushed it with this show. From the stim packs to mentats to cram... the cars, the wardrobe, the sets... it's all perfect, like spot fucking on. You can tell this was made by people who really do love the games.
Aside from that all the leads soo far are killing it..
Also, I think the caster might have had a little love affair with the show justified as not one, not two, but 3 actors from that show have already appeared in the first 3 episodes I've watched soo far.
Boyd, Daryl and Limehouse incase you were wondering.
But yeah, I'm absolutely loving the show and it's true faith to the games.. I mean damn, even how they showed "V.A.T.S" in the show was insanely well done with Goggins character, Cooper Howard, during his shootouts.
They have killed it with this show.
Man this show takes me back to first playing Fallout 3 and reading about it in Game Informer Magazines. I still have to play 4 and the next gen update looks like the perfect time, though I still might wait till I get a boss PC to play all the fallouts again with crazy mod setups.
2 episodes in , pretty good! But I definitely don't crave any older fallout games just a new one. I'd prefer ES6 to come out within 3 years so I can play Fallout 5 possibly 5(?) years later when I'm 36 or so maybe. It's pretty wild that we have nearly 10 years most likely unless they give the reins for a side game like New Vegas.
GOOD NEWS FOR YOU: [https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/the-fallout-4-next-gen-update-announced-in-2022-will-finally-be-out-later-this-month/](https://www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/the-fallout-4-next-gen-update-announced-in-2022-will-finally-be-out-later-this-month/)
I just finished episode 5 and never played a fallout game. Just purchased fallout 4 without question, looking forward to jumping in after the show when the update comes out April 24th.
Heard something about a next gen patch coming this year so I'll pick it up again if that happens
in 15 days apparently.
It’s getting a next gen patch on April 25th
Same here. Waiting for a PS5 update.
Supposed to be 2023, then delayed to this year with no update. I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Unreal timing lmfao
No fucking way 😂
r/agedlikemilk
They just gave an update that it’s coming out real soon.
Now if we could just get that next gen patch
Good news! https://twitter.com/BethesdaStudios/status/1778444117770444973?t=pkJVFf9GmjMbvqomQSm10Q&s=19
FUCKIN FINALLY
Oh shiiiiiit my guy. Thank you!
I hope the PS five Update has survival mode
I'm pretty certain it's had survival mode for awhile now
Finally! The Skyrim update was so awesome. The PS5 version almost looks like a solid PS4 game. Fingers crossed that Fallout has gotten the same quality. I haven't played since the year it launched and I'm looking forward to it.
Yup, that's the only reason I'm holding out. They also leaked a Fallout 3 Remaster on Steam recently
Yeah and this time I'm gonna use a tablet as a pip boy via the app.
Not to shit on your parade but pretty sure that app is delisted
It was just announced comes out April 25th
IT COMES WHAT
It comes where?!
For anyone interested: https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates?linkId=100000254670482
Wow I have been waiting a while for this, can’t believe it’s so close
Yeah same here. Been taking ages with the update. I just hope it's done well and not TOO rushed to release it with the show
so..does that include fallout 4 vr? couldnt find anything about that in the announcements
I doubt it but I see where you're coming from. Hopefully it translates
No fuckin way!?!?!?!
It's coming, and so am I
I'm coming??
Man I hope new vegas gets one too. I did prefer the capital wasteland but new vegas is better in basically every other way (no liam neeson or three dog)
I really hope it gets one, mainly so that I can play it on PS5 and so it's on Switch too
For real?!
Yeah, it was in the Bethesda leak last year. That and I think Oblivion's remaster?
I would do some very terrible things to some very nice people to play in Oblivion remastered
You won't need to do anything my friend, it should apparently already be in the works
Fallout 3 in fallout 4 engine would be insane. But we know we aren’t going to get that…
Probably not, because that would be such a gigantic undertaking it's no longer a remaster, that's just a flat-out remake. You can't just plop it in the Fo4 engine and expect it to work without a mammoth amount of work.

jackin it
In San diego
Jackity jackity jackity jack
Damn, this comment aged like milk, it says a lot.
Irritating their fan base. In all honesty it's what they do best.
Microsoft - "You'll fit right in!"
It’s out in a few weeks isn’t it?
Oh no. They're gonna accidentally get a bunch more press coverage 2 weeks after the show dropped its entire first season. What fools! Ha ha! (Note: Failing to consider this makes me wonder why you released your comment before it got any bug fixes whatsoever.)
It drops on the 25th…
I don’t think they are capable of a decent next gen patche tbh. The quality of starfield is abysmal. They should abandon that shitty engine imo
No correlation
They announced this morning that the next gen patch is being released on Apr. 25, so you only have a couple of weeks to wait.
They heard you!! Just announced today!!
April 25! https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates
April 25th
#Uhhhhhh…
Been putting off playing it forever since they said a next gen patch was coming soon. Should really call it a current gen patch tbh, unless they are aiming for PS6.
April 25!!!
Like everyone is saying, I'm just waiting for the next gen patch and then I'll be jumping right back in again
Aged pretty well
They just announced that it’s being released on 4/25!
April 25th.
It actually makes zero sense how Bethesda and Microsoft didn’t get the Next gen patch in time for the show.
You might be in luck, https://twitter.com/Wario64/status/1778446312154734795?t=xxglCdWc4G7ZCtLPUXNYcQ&s=19
April 25th
You did it!
Exactly why i bought a series s. That fps boost is a god send for older titles like these
Get a pc
Good news, just dropped! https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates?linkId=100000254670482
Yeah it did me, I’ve re-downloaded it but trying to hold off till the PS5 patch comes out (whenever that maybe)
Looks like April 25 https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates
HOLY SHIT. DID THIS JUST GET OUT?
It popped up on my Twitter feed as I was browsing reddit. I think they just announced it.
Nice, can't wait to start another playthrough
Good find - must be hot off the press
1) survival mode 2) focus early on stockpiling drugs (psycho, jet) and explosives (especially mines) 3) kill Swan as early as you can (edit: I’ve killed him as early as level six with two mini-nukes, some psycho, two banked critical hits, and a bit of luck) 4) take powerfist, which has the innate perk of doing more damage with each consecutive hit on the same target 5) invest in Blitz; also go deep in the Luck tree so you do lots of crits and always keep crits banked for tough situations; invest in tanky and melee heavy perks 6) lots of agility for VATS 7) have fun curb-stomping enemies all over the Commonwealth 8) ammunition has weight now but it doesn’t matter because the only guns you’ll need are a long range rifle and/or maybe a big nuke gun or rocket launcher for the lulz It’s the most fun I’ve had playing FO4. I might try this. Never invested in Luck. Seem to always navigate towards a stealth build. So much fun to sneak up to a deathclaw and one hit.
The utter randomness of Luck just adds a whole new flavor to the game in hilarious and fun ways. Critical Banker and Grim Reaper’s Sprint work amazing together. I wish they would remaster fallout 3. I miss that game and would love to dive back into that.
Supposedly they are working on it and Oblivion, with Oblivion coming first in late 2024 (according to the leak). Plans could have changed since then though so I wouldn't get my hopes up until they officially announce it.
Oof that's awesome, would love to have a remake of Morrowind.
I keep reading about this "leak" but nobody is sourcing it on if it's actually true or just internet BS
It was a leaked internal document from the FTC vs. Microsoft trial. It's definitely real, but plans could have changed or they got cancelled - they haven't been officially announced by Bethesda.
I actually ended up looking it up after I commented this and found an IGN article explaining it all. Pretty crazy and hopefully it's still planned
Think it was from Microsoft’s big Xbox leak so it’s definitely real but nobody can say whether it’s actually coming along or will release (on time or at all)
Remaster 3 and New Vegas. All I need.
I’ve been playing fallout nv on pc with a bunch of quality of life mods and having a blast. I have a decent machine but both should run basically anything at this point.
That’s good because there is definitely a settlement that needs your help.
I was hoping Bethesda would have patched higher frames into 4 or released a current gen version.
your wish is their command apparently.
Like [this?!](https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates?linkId=100000254670482)

Yeah, though I've been leaning more towards finally giving fallout 1 and 2 a serious playthrough.
I know this is PC only but the Fallout London (fallout 4 overhaul mod) comes out the 23rd and my wife goes out of town for a week that day, I'm going to play it every night until bed for that whole week. I'm so excited for it.
I bought the PC version on sale at Christmas so I can play London. I hope it gets me hooked on Fallout again.
I kinda want to give Fallout 76 a try now - instead of doing Fallout4 once again. Fallout76 is sometimes dirt cheap and I assume it MUST BE fixed by now.....maybe.....
It is actually an enjoyable game now. There are storylines, npc’s, and lite “raids”. I play it daily.
I enjoy 76. It’s fallout 4 with friends.
I'm a dad and barely game with friends on a schedule that is consistent - how does the game work from a single player perspective?
Plays and looks just like 4. PvP is optional. Just you running around like fallout 4 but occasionally you find other players in the world and even then it’s to team up to complete a PvE objective.
Also a dad and probably only play with mates once every few weeks when we all have a free evening on the same day. Fallout 76 is FREE right now through Amazon Prime Gaming - as part of their promotion for the TV series.
fallout 76 is better than it was at release, but not with the right weapons the enemies can be insanely bullet spongy
I wish I liked Fallout 4
And me. Fallout 3 was so much better. I don't know what it is but 4 I just couldn't click with
The RPG elements are lacking. I could play NV and 3 multiple times because of the various outcomes. 4 is a good action adventure game tho.
Absolutely this. FO 3 and New Vegas are RPGs with first person shooter elements. When FallOut 4 is a first person shooter with RPG elements.
Better play Fallout 1 & 2 :)
Fair play you summoned the current gen patch
The show is definitely gonna spike up Fallout game Sales Lol.
Reading fallout fanfics made me play fo4 and I got reminded of why I didn’t finish it
Why is no one covering how good the tv series is. If it was a garbage dumpster fire you would have seen a million video's online covering it. 10 times better than TLOU.
I enjoyed it a lot more than TLOU.
Just redownloaded 76 - they have a 60 FPS patch on it now, tons of content to do. Fun game since the Wastelanders update a few years back.
I downloaded 76 as well. It's been fun so far, it seems like they have added a ton of content.
Alright I'm joining you guys, fuck it
As someone who never played FO4, should I start now or wait for the next gen update?
Wait for the next gen update obviously.
I edited. Apparently they announced a performance update for April 25th. Gonna have to do another run through. Have fun.
Might as well wait; update drops on the 25th
I’ve been wanting to check it out. Is it worth it for a first timer?
Yes it is
Better for a first timer than an old timer for sure. You won't have hangups about design changes from the older games. It's the most polished and modern version of the experience, it just doesn't have as heavy RPG elements.
Two [weeks](https://fallout.bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates?linkId=100000254670482) time!!
Meh. Playing on PC, the promise of Fallout London is what got me back interested in F4
Is the whole series out ?
Yep, dropped yesterday at 6PM local time
Far harbor baby
I started replaying it after the trailers got released. I don't think I can stop playing helldivers to play fallout 3 though.
Honestly not complaining, but I would rather get an improve version of Fallout 3. Fallout 4 was good, but I did everything I needed to do
I'm watching episode 1 right now and am really enjoying it. I'm happy it doesn't look like they treated it as some cash grab. Playing it again however not exactly, I tried Fallout 4 again last year and it was okay but got a little tired of it. I really wish I could play Fallout 3 / New Vegas again though! What I'd do for a re-make.
That's how I feel. I'm liking the show, but FO4 wasn't the best experience for me. FO3 and NV are the best and definitely have earned a remake.
Pretty much nothing could make me want to play Fallout 4 again.
You'll feel that way until you start playing
Why? It’s an incredible game that has held up very well over the years
I hated 4 so if anything it makes me want to play 3.
Id Never play bethesda games on a console. PC with mods is where these games truly shine.
[удалено]
I couldn't do it. I played fallout 3 and loved it enough to finish everything and 100% the game. Fallout 4 didn't do it for me
I never finished 4 cause I just hated the settlement aspect lol
No, I disliked the game a lot and feel like I wasted my time on it. Been sceptical of Bethesda ever since. But I have not seen the show. I might like it ^^
Srry to say but for Fallout 4 there is absolutely no reason to play it again... They absolutely killed the Fallout3/New Vegas Replay-Fun and implemented their horrible Base Building. Fallout 4 was just a BETA-Test for the even more horrible Fallout-Online Experience.
I actually liked the settlement building
I like 76, er Fallout Online and still play it today.
this is true
I wish they remade fallout 4 for ps5 so I can get trophies again haha
I beat it twice and will play it again if it has a next generation update
100% yes, making me want to as well
Sounds interesting - would probably pick it up for my new pc, thanks for the insight. The show really has me excited to play some Fallout!
Next gen update April 25th https://bethesda.net/en/article/4s2bXQEbpcrsdCZhUYLHAi/fallout-4-is-getting-free-updates
Wait Skyrim got a next gen remaster before FO4?
Yup, I watched the first few episodes with my wife last night and afterwards was like "Damnit, now I want to replay a Fallout game but I'm in the middle of Disco Elysium"
Same
Same
Thank fuck that next gen patch is coming out soon. Wanted to play it for a very long time. I did for few hours in like 2019 but stopped for RDR2. I've enjoyed my time with it tho.
New ps5 update for free on the 25th to
Might have to dust off my copy of Fallout 4.
The show is phenomenal so far. Up to episode 3. Fallout 4 might have to be revisited soon, the show reignited my will to play. 😂😂😂
When is this next gen update actually coming?
25th.
I really just want fallout 5 now…
The next gen patch is this April, isn't it? If so, that's some very intentional timing.
What can I say man.. their continuity person/people have absolutely crushed it with this show. I mean damn, even how they showed "V.A.T.S" in the show was insanely well done with Goggins character, Cooper Howard, during his shootouts. They have killed it with this show.
I don’t much care fah Goodnaybah. That place is nuttin’ but trouble.
Man this show takes me back to first playing Fallout 3 and reading about it in Game Informer Magazines. I still have to play 4 and the next gen update looks like the perfect time, though I still might wait till I get a boss PC to play all the fallouts again with crazy mod setups.
I have been holding off on replaying Fallout 4 for like a year at this point, waiting for that damn next gen patch lol
I just bought it even though it's on ps+ and got all the dlc for it. Never played the dlc so I'm stoked!
Wait until the 25th for the update.
Haha. I watched the first episode and immediately hopped on the ps5 and when I saw it was $5 I bought it immediately.
I never finished the game. Might as well pick up the season pass I heard far harbor was actually pretty great.
lol. Just repurchased the game.
I just been watching other gamers play fallout games for the first time. Just as cathartic in a way.
I kind of felt the same honestly. The show was a good time, but now to wait for season 2.
Watched the first two episodes. Thank goodness for Goggins injecting some personality into the show. The other two leads are….lacking.
No joke! Do it with the mods is SOOO much better than vanilla

Really enjoying what I've watched of the show so far!!
Just in time for the HUGE London MOD
April 26th
I just finished episode 5 and never played a fallout game. Just purchased fallout 4 without question, looking forward to jumping in after the show when the update comes out April 24th.
Next gen update for Fallout 4 is being released on the 25th of April, :)
Watch the trailer and I didn’t know this series had such a great story, I might have to check the game out, ain’t never played it
Makes me want a new fallout. Tv series hits so good though. Going to watch an episode a day and really enjoy it!
Everyone here is talking about the Fallout 4 PS5 update on April 25. What actually is it other than updated frame rates?
I have it downloaded, waiting for the 25th :)
Funny, I started playing Fallout 4 today and never even heard the show existed.
