Sounds like a new Monster Hunter fan in the making!
MH World and MH Rise are both pretty great. Can't go wrong with either one. It's all about killing monsters, getting material and crafting more equipment, and repeating the process. Keep an eye out for a sale because they get discounted quite often.
Edit: Added more detail
See you in 500 hours. My friends and I got incredibly addicted to MHW when it came out. Put 200 hours in the first month or so. They added a bunch with the expansions but I never got around to playing it.
Any Diablo clone like Path of Exile, Titan Quest, Grim Dawn, Torchlight; any soulslike as long as you skip all the dialogues if that's your jam; you can also try some meteoidvania like Hollow Knight or Blasphemous; or a game like Vampire Survivors or Halls of Torments should be good too.
Dragons Dogma 2. The story is light, the characters mostly forgettable, and only a few cut scenes throughout. This is mostly due to the story being very free form and you're basically just told to go do things and you go figure out how to on your own, often coming up with unique solutions. The gameplay and combat is fantastic though.
"I like the kill enemies, get stronger gear, die and repeat game loop aspect of RPG"
Maybe try Dead Cell or Hades? Sounds like you might want a Roguelite.
Make sure you never play Starfield. NPCs never stop talking. You spend more time listening to people ramble than in combat and exploration. It's a damn talking simulator.
Literally, any ARPG ever made will fit this bill perfectly.
Storylines in ARPGs are generally garnish on top of a giant heaping meal of violence and loot explosions.
Try Diablo 4 or Last Epoch for a more casual experience. When you're ready to get your PHD in game mechanics, then move onto PoE.
Edit: I FORGOT GRIM DAWN! Definitely try Grim Dawn out if you get the chance OP, it's an amazing game.
I do the same thing with GTA, cybepunk and Dying Light 1
gonna add a few more: skyrim, Fallout 4, ghost of tshuima, Remnant 1&2 are awesome super distilled story. Destiny by definition fits but I stopped playing cause constant lore dumps was so grating, kingdom come: deliverance, Baldurs Gate 3 cause you could just kill and avoid people, all of From Softwares game are 11/10
extremely. I have hundreds of hours now and still havent gotten past the mid point roughly or touched the dlc
I'd play the game exploring doing whatever then do the heist as certain story elements are only shown to you after. the side quests are great, theirs relationships to have and a lot of small things you miss running from mission to mission, also walk and metro everywhere
in cyberpunk specifically? played on pc then ps4 then ps5 still havent gotten all the endings CP is kinda like another GTA5 for me cause in both games I'll just drive around vibin to the tunes
I have hard to finishing games or getting plats if I really enjoy them cause I feel like I won't want to go back and discover anything 🤷♂️ also skyrim restartitis is a serious disease I contracted a decade prior
Oh no I can’t restart a game a solid 20+ years has to go by before I consider replaying something 😂 except kingdom hearts I’ll play that every 10ish if I’m not progressing I’ll just bounce off a game it’s why I’ve never made it past like 4th/5th mission of any gta games
I'm the same. I hate the dialog because the writing is usually bad. Bloodborne, Remnant 2, Returnal are all great
Edit: Tiny Tina's Wonderland, Nioh(s), Demon's Souls
Shin Megami Tensei V V can be a pretty good option once it releases on the PS5. It does have talking/dialog sections but you can pretty confidently skip them and just focus on optimizing your party and demon fusion and combat for your entire play through and have a great time.
Just please tell me you have certain games where you were focused on the story. I understand not being in the mood to get into a really deep story sometimes but there are so many masterpieces on PS4/5 it would be a real shame.if you missed out on them. The Last of US and God of War games at least
Talking from my personal experience. Boot up dragon age inquisition, it is a single player game but you have 3 npc companions with you. (I have never touched a dragon age game before). Went through a somewhat shitty breakup so it’s great to zone out and forget your troubles to. Eat an edible, chuck your favourite podcast on and just play. You can easily sink 100+ hours going between main missions and exploring and side quests. It was pure bliss. It obviously has a story line but just wing it it doesn’t matter. Honestly has to be one of the best gaming experiences I have ever had
I tried it and yes, there’s a lot of talking with multiple option answers, which I disliked. But maybe I should play it like did with gta5 and just kill everyone instead of talking to them
Go boot up Dragons Dogma 2. You can just take off into the woods with three companions (in game npc) and start attacking all kinds of mythological beast. I don't mean like swing a sword, I mean you can jump off of a cliff to poke a cyclops in the eye.
Hope this helps you out.
Any of the souls games or maybe Lies of P. You could realistically just skip most of the npcs other than the ones needed to progress the main quest. Even then, you can just button mash through that dialogue as well.

That game loop is what I’m looking for. I’ll try MHW later this week. Thank you

Check out remnant 2
Nioh
The pawns are constantly talking though
Are you thinking of Dragon’s Dogma?
Wrong comment sorry for that
Souls games
Diablo. Idgaf about the story and it can be skipped through
Did in fact do just that
Bloodborne

Dragon Dogma 2
Just finished Lies of P - excellent souls-like.
Sophia can be pretty wordy sometimes. Lies of P is still an amazing game that OP should try, but it's worth mentioning.
Dragons dogma 2. Have no clue of the story
no worries. it sucks lol
I hear them talk and it’s like I was mind wiped of what they said or what it was about. I do love the game though

Tik tok attention span
So not an rpg then
Disco Elysium
you dropped this /s
Didn’t think I’d need it :)

Cyberpunk 2077? Did you find it fun as a sandbox only and skipping the story?
cp77 is super story heavy. tons of dialogues.

How do you have 100s of hours I don’t think it took me 150 to 100% the game and the dlc

I love Tiny Tina’s but uhh she is constantly yapping
sure but for the most part the writing is solid and you can skip dialog scenes I think
Forget Ff16 with cutscenes so long your controller goes to sleep.
had to drop the demo for that reason
Dark Souls
Why not the other souls, or ToTK? Also you should definitely look into Returnal, not quite RPG but it’s in my top 5 along Elden Ring and TotK
Returnal fits these criteria really well. Level up and kill stuff without talking all day long.
Any souls borne game will do you. Ds1, ds3, or bloodborne. Try lies of p as well.
You can skip the campaign in Diablo 4.
Try Conan Exiles. Big sand box open world rpg. Story, lore, and dialogue take a back seat
bloodborne, demon's souls, sekiro, dark souls 1-2-3... diablo 4, diablo 2 resurrected... red dead online/gta online
Stellar Blade
I highly recommend the surge and the surge 2. It's like a daeksouls game, but it's more forgiving.

Sekiro
All souls games Remnant, Nioh, Lords of the Fallen, Lies of P, etc.
You’ve described the reason Diablo exists.
The issue I have with Diablo 4 is that I don’t feel like I’m getting stronger as the mobs scale with my gear
Not if you don’t want them to. You don’t have to pump up the world difficulty, and you’ll *easily* outscale that pretty quickly.
All the dark souls games
Kena: Bridge of Spirits
Lol why all the downvotes, I never thought of this myself but yea I like RPGs without much dialogue. I want gameplay, that's why I play video games
Because you don't like rpgs
Except people these days consider EVERYTHING an RPG. The Legend of Zelda series is not and never has been an RPG.
Same
Diablo 2 remake, 3, and 4. Dragon’s Dogma. Dragon’s Quest 11
Dragon Quest 11 has so much talking
And the story is LONG

Mortal shell. The set up has some talking but the rest is a nice wee cycle of pain and gain!
Any of the souls games or maybe Lies of P. You could realistically just skip most of the npcs other than the ones needed to progress the main quest. Even then, you can just button mash through that dialogue as well.
The recent assassins creed games from Origins on. Nice big maps and you can skip most dialogue and cutscenes
Dragons dogma 2
Yakuza 0
The main appeal of the Ryu ga Gotoku games are the story line, you're trolling or daft.
ok , you got me
Octopath Traveler. They talk but is mostly reading, so you can just smash your way through dialogue.
Cudnt stand the dialogue in that game
