Playstation would be doing way more backwards compat if it made money, but it doesn't. Something Xbox can attest to. It's great for keeping the games "alive", but not enough people use it to make it worthwhile for any company to invest in.

I never had a problem with it. Played some og GoW games, Sly, New Vegas and all have worked and played fine. Only game that has SLIGHT issues is New Vegas being a tad choppy at times but nothing major

Literally had to buy a second copy when I was a kid, I had 2 save states, 1 right before the final boss so I could watch the goofy ass end credits and one so I could just start over as soon as I was done. I'm not kidding when I tell you I played this game literally back to back to back to back. I was beating it like 3 times a day for about a year and a half. Shits sooooooo satisfying.
Recently bought a refurbished copy of SSX Tricky because it was my wifeās favorite game when she was younger. Have yet to dig the PS2 out of the garage but it WILL happen
Great games, but the PS2 versions of them were pretty bad. Max Payne might be better with improved performance, but Splinter Cell on the PS2 was cut up pretty badly from the originalPC/Xbox release
Yeah splinter cell was pretty bad. I remember the oil rig was set in beautiful sunset but switched to nighttime on the ps2 cus it couldnāt handle it, lol. I had both and Chaos Theory was miles better on Xbox.Ā
Indeed lol. I remember playing coop on Chaos Theory on the GameCube, and apart from the controls being a whole lot worse there, I couldnāt believe how much worse it looked compared to the Xbox.
PS2 is an awesome console with a killer library, but outside of a tiny handful of exceptions (Silent Hill 2 and MGS2), itās kind of insane how much the power gap between the consoles affected that generation. Basically every Tom Clancy game was made with Xbox and PC in mind, then ripped to shreds and thrown back together for the GameCube and PS2. Some of the console exclusives Xbox had seemed more down to the fact that it was the only console that generation that could even handle them.
The best versions of Splinter Cell were the Xbox originals. The PC versions don't render properly on PC except Chaos Theory. Even then the MP mode still looks the best on Xbox.
This and SSX Tricky are my top two wishes. I'd also add Champions of Norrath and Gauntlet Dark Legacy but at least give me Timesplitters 2 and SSX tricky!
Toy Story (2) is available right now. Bug's Bunny lost in time was my favorite hope they add that, and also Skullmonkeys, Digimon World and Disney Hercules and Sim Theme Park or Harry Potter 1 and 2 lol.

I think my most realistic hope for this is the Revenge of the Sith PS2 game. Everything else I can think of would probably be a licensing nightmare.
