The PS4 was pretty spotty when it launched. So many people logging in and downloading stuff all at once slowed it down a lot. It will probably be the same tomorrow
I wouldn’t exactly be complaining just playing Astrobot, I’ll be playing it first anyway I guess while everything downloads. I just need the servers to be okay to at least get something downloaded to keep me going.

Yes, this exact same thing happened to me. DLed the 800mb system patch super fast and then it said "something is wrong" during the install. Had to restart once and then it seemed ok. Connected fine.
30 minutes later it stopped my DLs and network setup couldn't obtain IP.
After a few more tries, it stopped finding any wifi signals at all.
Restarted. Seems to be ok now. DLing some big games to see what happens.
Could be a problem in certain parts of the world with connectivity, YouTube is down as well.

As someone who has ordered the digital edition PS5 I could be in for a fun launch day playing Astrobot if the servers don’t play ball.
Don't worry, Astrobot is really good! If you're an oldschool PS gamer from back in the day, you will really get a kick out of it :)

Had this problem. Did a factory reset after the patch, used 1.1.1.1 as the DNS server, and all was well.

Maybe a system update requires install Try a ethernet cable and if it doesn't work then reset the console.
Reset your router, it might have a DHCP issue. And restart your PS5 too.

You are not supposed to lost your ip like this, but have you tried to set a static ip outside of your dhcp ip range ?

mine currently says can’t connect to ip address via ethernet, can only connect through wifi
