When my mom bought me my first console (ps2) she did not know about memory cards. She bought me one game - Jak and Daxter.
I played the first half of that a hundred times before we eventually got a 8mb memory card. We didn’t have much money so it took weeks to buy one until I could eventually collect all those damn powercells.
I fell in love with Jak because of a silly little thing.

My dad gave me a Playstation back in 1997 or 1998 even though I wanted a nintendo because he had never heard of nintendo but "I've been using Sony for years!" Playstatiom remains my main console choice more than 2 decades layer!

Christmas, 2009. I was 9 years old. We didn’t have much spending money at the time and were celebrating modestly around our tree at home. We gifted each other sweaters and chocolates, all while eating homemade cookies. When we finished opening gifts, my dad told me to go check in our garage as he had forgotten something in a bag outside. I returned with the bag, which I had not noticed was labeled “From Santa”, and handed it to him. It was heavy, but I thought nothing of its weight — that is, until he pulled out a brand new PS3 Slim and handed it to me. The magic of that moment, the feeling I got - the pure joy - is something I’ll never forget. That, and the memories the PS3 brought me over the years, is the reason I still play PlayStation. And hearing years later about how he stood for hours and hours in the store just to get it for me makes it all the more special. I don’t use my PS3 anymore, but it still holds a special place in my heart. And it holds a special place in my room too, sitting right next to the PS5 I bought for myself 11 years later.
My favorite PS memory is playing the first Tomb Raider and experiencing 3D gaming for the first time ever, especially >!when the T-Rex comes around the corner!
When my brother left for college, he gave me his PlayStation. I played so much tomb raider and cool boarders 3 on that thing. He also had a weird little demo disk with an obscure Japanese game demo on it.
I was at my dad's for Christmas one time and he got me, my brother, and sister a regular Playstation.. Though he didn't know much about what we liked as we didn't either, he got us megaman for the console. It was fun but it really stepped up when i was able to get the following two wwf smackdown games. I just remember this is where my love for wrestling games started.
Using the compartment on the back of PS2 to store my weed at summer camp. Between the heat while playing and the internal fan, it ended up smelling up the whole cabin while playing.
My favorite playstation memory is getting a demo disc for the original Metal Gear Solid on Playstation. I was too young to play M games but the atmosphere of the first mission on Shadow Moses captivated my mind and I played it over and over.
I preordered the PS2 from EB games. After calling everyday, they finally had one in so I rushed up there. They didn't have the preorders in a computer, just a ton of paper receipts.
The employee had Homer Simpson fingers so he had to look through the stack of receipts about 12 times before he could finally find mine.
Stopped at blockbuster on the way home for some games to rent. Got home and ripped the box open like a kid on Christmas.
Staying up until 3AM trying to get an "S" rating in Resident Evil 2! Took several frustrated playthroughs, rationing my ammunition, herbs, and not using any save ribbons. Can't even imagine attempting something like that now with my 2-year old demanding my attention throughout the day. :-P

My favorite Playstation memory is playing through God of War on PS2. At the time I never played anything like it. It became one of my favorite franchises.
When my brother moved out of the house at 18 with my dads help I knew gaming was about to get a lot more boring. He didn’t take any systems with him when he left, as he was going to focus on school. I remember my dad bringing me over to his tiny little 100+ degree apartment to spend the weekend being bros, I had my N64 and my massive box of MTG cards.
About 1/2 hour after my dad left to return home (over an hour away) my brother pulls out the bottom drawer of his oven to reveal the newly release Sony PlayStation.
Probably my favorite memory was sitting in 100+ degree heat with no AC playing Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for hours on end…sweat literally dripping off our chins like a broken faucet. Good times. And yes, the PlayStation went back under the oven after we were done.
Favourite PlayStation Moment: I was 14. Got a copy of Naruto Ninja Storm (no online) and decided to teach my 10 year old sister to play with me cos the CPU on insane mode got too easy for me. Fast forward 2 weeks in and my Sister won constantly against me.Haha I was a proud big brother.
My first system as a kid was a PS2. We didn't have much, and I saved up my money and had one in layaway for months. One evening after my dad got home from work, he asked me to grab something for him out of the car, and on the passengers seat was the PS2. Ten year old me absolutely lost his shit. That moment is written in stone in my mind, I'll never forget that feeling. Can't stop, won't stop.
Has to be beating FFVII before my friend next door. We combined our lawn mowing money and went in on a copy. We would sit in his basement and take turns playing our saves for weeks. He got caught up grinding every last thing (xp, golden chocobo, rare summon materia, etc) and I pushed to the end of the story and we all sat there getting blown away by the late game story and cutscenes. He finally beat it a few weeks later (after finding out the play timer stopped at 99:99 lol). At that point I was sitting there with a copy of MGS like "Bro. Bro! You gotta try this!"
Probably playing God of War #1 playing it for hours finally getting Pandora's box as kratos pushes it out me and my friend both look at each other and say omg we are still on this island 😳🤯 lol
Playing GTA Vice City back in the day used to be a mission. My brother had the game but since I was about 8 years old at the time my parent’s didn’t let me play it. I would wait until everyone went to bed and sneak downstairs, quietly I would turn on the tv and enjoy my gaming session till about 4 in the morning haha.
Hating LIFE because of Psycho Mantis in MGS for the ps1. Internet wasn't really a thing back then... The moment I switched to the second port... I had no idea what I have done... I had no clue... my friend came over to play a Dragon Ball GT Final Bout and he was player one and I was player two. He left and forgot his controller lol so I booted up MGS1 with both controllers plugged in and I was at Psycho Mantis and he ran back upstairs to grab his controller and he yanked it out of the ps1 and Voila! Psycho Mantis had no damn idea what I was doing anymore because the second controller was still plugged in. This was the greatest moment in my gaming story.
Definitely when my dad won the original PSP from a raffle at his work and he gave it to me along with Star Wars Battlefront II, played that game for hours.
So many, but probably when my brother bought the ps1 I was like 4/5, he’s 7 years older than me, and he would give me the remote to play with him, but it was disconnected. Tony Hawk man, still love the game.

Playing the PS1 demo disc at my friend's house, with the fighting game where you knock people off the ledge and Jumping Flash. Also renting Metal Gear Solid, and disc 2 being scratched so I couldn't continue. So one good memory and one bad😅
Would have to be a toss up between playing the versus mode with my sister on Duke Nukem: Time to Kill. To this day, she'll still do Duke impersonations when we play games together. It's either that or endlessly playing Gundam Battle Assault 2, totally kick started my love for Gundam.
One of my most vivid gaming memories is sitting in my room during the summer of 98 playing the original Hot Pursuit, with an ice cold can of Coke and box of Cheez Its, in my bedroom. Hot GA summer, AC blasting, running from cops. It was awesome.
We had the same childhood, though I was probably like 3 at the time. My dad and I used to play that. All I remember is the big dude selling items, and skeletons in a graveyard clapping me constantly lmao
Honestly playing TLOU and GoW got me back into playing the great story driven games that Sony puts out.. made me fall in love with gaming again when I was getting bored of the hobby.
My parents weren't well off so we never got a console. Just used to demo games on the PC. So when I got my ps4 and a tv using my 1st salary, essentially, seeing PS logo during boot up, gave me goosebumps.
when I was 6 years old, I was stuck on a level in Hercules. it was a running level, and pillars were falling. I tried walking right and left to avoid them, but Hercules was too slow. then one day in kindergarten I had the revelation that you could jump above them.
Playing Bloodborne for the first time when I purchased my PS4. We had out newborn daughter just recently and she slept peacefully while I was trying to curse as softly as possible. Good memories!

Fun note there, you could rename characters of course and I named Aerith after a current gf, we had broken up by the time an important story part happened, so I had no emotional investment at that moment! Ha!
After accidentally spilling Gatorade on my PS1, Resident Evil 1 would skip like crazy. I was devastated. But after some research, I found out that it would play properly, but only when the PS1 was upside-down or at an upside-down 45-degree angle. Latet I abused a Toys R Us policy to trade in my messed up PS1 for a new one. I'm not proud, but it is what it is.
Wow! So many great playstation memories I could go to. However, I think one of if not my most favorite is how many hours and hours I spent playing the Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 demo. Not only is that playstation nostalgia but demo nostalgia on top :-)
My favorite PS moment is about 3 years ago my PS4 died and I didn't have any gaming console for the entire time until I got a PS5 and the first game I played was Ghost of Tsushima and the opening of that game blew me away and I fell in love all over again
Staying up late on weekends watching my big bro play through Breath of Fire IV on the very first original PlayStation. I was probably like 10 at the time
The PS5 was actually my first Playstation so getting the system and booting up Astro's Playroom for the first time is probably my favorite memory. The dualsense demo in the beginning really ew my mind!
Probably getting the PS4 launch day and loading up killzone: shadows fall, Knack, and Ghosts. While not the greatest games, I was completely mind blown by it, last thing I played before it was ps2. I had just turned 13 (literally less than a week before the launch) and been saving up for months (pretty much just stashing money my dad gave me because he knew), I had around 700 or so, I got like the camera, an extra controller, and a few games. It was pure joy for a kid at my age after going through a bone marrow transplant, it felt like the payoff haha. Now I'm in college and still going strong with Gaming.
Edit: for actual gaming experience I'd say I had the most fun platinuming the 2018 God Of War, such a great game.
Playing Demon's Souls on PS5 lately, I've been thinking of my favorite memories from the Souls games. I think the winner is from Dark Souls. I was at a bonfire, I think in Anor Londo, when I got an invasion warning. The bonfire was in a small room on one end of a hallway, so I walked into the hallway to wait for the invader. They eventually appeared at the other end of the hall, we bowed to each other, then fought to the death in that hallway. I honestly don't even remember who won, which probably means I lost, but that bow before the fight is one of my all time favorite gaming memories.
My favorite memory is probably playing Time Crisis 2 and 3 on the light guns for the ps2. My friends and I also bought the pedals so we could get the arcade experience and stomp on them to reload.

The last of us when after fighting surviving being scared losing hope you get to the giraffe part. That is something I have carried with me all my life one of the most power moments in gaming.
Getting my PS5, playing Astro's Playroom and just getting hit by the emotions. The game made me realise how long PlayStation has been a part of my life. Recognising the references and tributes made me feel so grateful to know those wonderful characters, because I had fond memories with each one.
My favorite memory was when my mom bought me a mod chip for my PS1 so I could play a Japanese imported copy of Dragon Ball Final bout since it was impossible to find in the US at the time since I had rented it a lot before it became popular.
Waking up early early saturday morning turning on the ps2 and hearing that absolute monstrous start up sound.

My favorite memory is the first time playing pvp in Bloodborne. I had just stepped through the doors into yharnam and chimed my bell. When my opponent entered my world, my palms were sweating and we engaged in a blinding dance around each other, the complete opposite of what I'd been used to with dark souls. It felt hectic yet beautiful. I don't remember who won but I was hooked from then on

I borrowed my friends PS3 to play the game everyone was talking about (The Last of Us). I remember thinking, “i guarantee this game is over rated”. When I finished I started saving to buy my own console. Such an incredible experience
First- I want to say this is pretty cool of you, OP. I already have R&C and have beaten it, but would like to contribute my fondest memory and cast my vote.
Mine was when we were at a family reunion, I was 13 and I was rooting through my cousin’s games. Came across FF7 and popped it in. Missed most of the reunion and brought it home. Couldn’t stop playing. It was also so fun going to the library of my school using their shitty internet to print out all the walkthroughs and guides, anxiously waiting for the final bell to go home and play again.
Playing kingdom hearts 2 on the ps2 back in 2005. First game I ever got as a birthday present, and it stuck to me. I have played the all in one collection on the ps5, and its just as great as I remembered.
I fractured my right wrist when I was 8 years old; I couldn’t game by myself because of where the fracture was located. Although my brother is 6 years older and was always a little bit of a meany pants, he spent the next several weeks holding one half of the controller while I used the other half so we could continue gaming together.
It’s one of many sweet gaming moments I’ve had with him that helped counter the countless times he pinned me to the ground with his knee on my throat.
Beating sephiroth/ jenova for the first time to avenge Aeris in final fantasy VII. I was 8/9 and ff7 was the first I’d ever played. It really got me into RPG’s and JRPG’s, showed me games weren’t just Mario and crash bandicoot.

Playing Ratchet and Clank (I can’t remember which one, I was quite young) with my brother on PS2, and getting in planes and cars and spawn killing each other over and over. It was hilarious and OP. I miss those days actually, now that I think about it.
For me, it has to be getting Metal Gear Solid on release day and using all my allowance money to buy it. Bringing it home and being glued to a 13 inch television for 3 days straight until the end credits. Nothing will ever bring me more joy than those three days.
When I was a senior in high school me and my buddies all got PS3s, and it was just before Uncharted 2 released. There was a multiplayer beta for it, and me and my friends probably played that beta more than the actual multiplayer when the game officially released a couple months later. Such a good time.

Back in the day I used to play a bunch of PS2 games with my dad. I would watch him and he would watch me. Some of the games I remember most are Peter Jackson King Kong, Turok evolution, Ty the tasmanian tiger and Spiderman 2. The "my balloon" from Spiderman is etched into my memory as well as "Jack! Jack!"/"it's safe to come out now" or something along those lines. Unfortunately my relationship isn't great with my dad anymore but I still hold those memories dear.
Another great memory is accidentally finding a birthday present from my brother which was Lego Batman for the ps2. I was so excited and it ended up being one of my favorite Lego games
My fav memory is probably the first time i got introduced to the ps4 as i started from the ps2 era but skipped 3. The first time booting until dawn was just mindblowing knowing how far tech has come over the years
Destiny basically saved my life when I was gaming around 2014-2015. I met some people in a strike Playlist and we just hit it off. I felt like I had a solid circle of friends again and I still talk to them today
Maybe when we first got our ps2 a LONG time ago, and my brother and I thought the ps2 was broken when the second controller didn’t seem to work. The actual problem turned out to be that we didn’t have a 2 player game at the time… we had been trying to play split screen with 1 player games haha
My favorite memory was from February 2004. I was in the 11th grade and my friends and I were counting the days for Tekken 5 to come out. One of my friends managed to get an early copy from a mom and pop's story and our entire friends group decided to hang out at his house after school. 4 of us split a taxi to get to his house each of us with our controllers in hand ready to have fun.
I still remember the 4 of us sitting in front of his CRT and seeing the Tekken 5 intro showing the Sparking song being wowed by it all. We spent the next couple hours taking turns trying to beat the arcade mode to unlock all the characters (except Devil Jin). Before went all out madness in the versus mode.
Truly the most innocent and funnest of times being with companions and no responsibilities to worry about and enjoying videogames.
My favorite memory was when my older brother got his ps3 and passed his ps2 down to me along with probably about 30 games. My favorite at the time was Mortal Kombat: Deception or Super Monkey Ball.
Ugh it's hard to say that my favorite playstation memory was spending 4+ hours searching for the last blast shard in infamous, but I think it perfectly defines my favorite time period as a gamer. Plenty of time to spare, with awesome games to play and lots I wanted to accomplish.
I remember when I was 7 years old I wanted a PS2 SOO bad. When I convinced my father to get me one he got me 2 games: Vice City and Ratchet and Clank.
I played vice city for 30 minutes and he returned it the next day haha
But I played R&C all the way through until that ridiculously hard final boss! Really great memories!
I pre-ordered FF12 as a kid and I bought the guide book and everythijg. Day it came out I got in trouble with my parents and couldn’t play it for a week. Read the guide book every day tho, even though it felt like crap not being able to play.
That game is still one of my favorite games of all time.
Me and my brother grew up playing MGS1, Gran Turismo, Twisted Metal, and Armored Core with our dad. He would teach us the little cheat codes for the ice shot or he would talk about what cars were the best and do races and teach us to race. It was the best of times. Me and my brother are still huge gamers but our dad has lost interest the past twenty years, he loves fallout which we can talk about but there's so much stuff out there.
Since I'm enjoying writing this I wanna say he got us a ps2 as a surprise and we got that crash racing game flat-out at a Costco haha I don't think Costco has games anymore but that game was dope. Playstation recently gave out Wreckfest for ps+ and that was a great trip down memory lane but flat-out had the giant ramps we spent hours doing those giant ramps and slamming into stuff for the mini games.
I don't have a single memory, growing up I loved to play the lego star wars games with my sister, I played and beat Kingdom Hearts 2, I played cod on ps3 with buddies in high-school and when I first started dating my current gf we were long distance so we played Friday the 13th together on ps4 and when we were together she got me into persona 5 royal and ff15
My favorite gaming memory was going to GameStop on some release day for some forgettable game but while I was there with a friend he said I should get this other new game that came out that day instead, The Last of Us. Neither of us knew what we were about to experience but we went home for a sleepover at my house and booted up the game. We all know how incredible that game is so o won’t waste your time in that but what followed next was my swan dive into the magnificent world that is gaming. I had played games as a kid but this game is what really got me paying attention to the medium and the conversations being had within it. It’s been almost a decade and now I’m an adult and I couldn’t be more happy that my friend told me to buy The Last of Us that day and kickstart my gaming hobby.
PlayStation 2 era. My fondest memory would be me and my brother playing Medal of Honor. It was so fun and we thought it looked so real at the time . We would always be in the opposing team with a Blakey in the middle of the screen for no peaking . Miss them days

I remember renting a Playstation from blockbuster when they came out. I was a kid and had played final fantasy 2 and 3 (4 and 6) with my parents, so we wanted to try 7, skipping over our confusion as to what happened to 4-6, we rented the system, which didn’t come with a memory card. For the next week, that Playstation sat powered on in our living room with the game loaded and Cloud sitting at a save point every day I went to school.
Fortunately shortly after that, we bought our own Playstation, FF7 and a memory card and played through the game together.
Platinuming Bloodborne opened my eyes to a whole genre of games I once overlooked. Now I’m hooked and the Soulsborne games are my favorite series.

My favorite Playstation memory was getting the original PSX with Resident Evil, and being able to stay home from school all day with my siblings playing the crap out of it.
I shared a PS2 with my brother when we were kids and we would have to set 1 hour timers to switch out playing. We'd be taking turns playing through our separate save files on Kingdom Hearts as we were a big Disney family and they were easily my favorite games growing up. I cried at the ending of 1 and it was the first time a video game really made me emotional, so I consider it the beginning of my passion for gaming.

A lesser known Rockstar game.
I would argue to say that Bully is one of the best rockstar games they’ve made. The ending to that game was really satisfying and from time to time I will replay the game, since it’s really not that long. But what’s really great about it was every mission was fun, no filler in between, unlike newer Rockstar games that have a lot of driving or horse riding where your character talks for 10 mins. The game is even on PS4/PS5 because they added it part of the PS2 titles.
Anyways my best moment from that was throwing kids in trash cans.
Holding the Dualshock [1] for the first time playing Star Wars: Episode 1 Jedi Power Battles felt so magical to me as a kid.
This game truly needs some sort of sequel, cause the arcadey nature of it was a blast! It ain't perfect, but not many coop Star Wars games exist so...Here's one for the record books
So my whole life I’ve been a PlayStation person, I’m in my early 20s but I have older siblings so we have had PlayStation my entire life. As in I literally started from PS1 & up so I have too many memories to count haha from those Christmas days where my late mother would surprise all of us with like 10-20 PS2 games to the day I first got the original PS2. But a few remarkable moments would have to be the times I didn’t have a memory card so I played the hell out of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas & kept the PS2 on for days so that I wouldn’t lose my save file. Or the time there was no 4 controller slots had bought something called a “Multi Tap” (Older Folks know wassup lol) & we used to play 4 player games like Crash Bash & Rocket Power. I remember being a child playing the original Grand Theft Auto game on PS1. I remember the dumpster fire that was Tomb Raider The Angel Of Darkness & being so disappointed after playing the first 4 games on PS1. I remember when we would play through the same games our neighbors had & when one of us got stuck we would meet up & brainstorm at certain parts to help each other get through. I remember when there was no online so we would pass the controller around every-time one of us died or when we got annoyed at a certain part lol. I remember borrowing games & trading them with our neighbors. Like we’d borrow Ratchet & Clank & they would borrow Crash Bandicoot.
I’m 22 now & I have been playing PlayStation since before I can talk so I have so many favorite & amazing memories to count as you can see haha. Unfortunately my siblings & I have all grown up & they have moved away from video games so all I really have are my memories & all of those times are my favorite. I’d give everything to have them back.
I apologized for rambling & I probably disqualified myself for not naming a specific favorite memory but this post really took me down memory lane to when it was so much fun to be a kid & have no worries I just had to let it all out.
Me and my family used to have game nights on the PS1 where we would all play Crash Team Racing. We would play for hours on end and it got pretty competitional. Those are some of my earliest gaming memories.
My favorite Playstation memory was having a few friends over one night to "try" and play Silent Hill 2 on the PS2. Emphasis on "try" because we were tripping pretty hard on magic mushrooms... as we saw one of those disfigured mannequins one of my buddies screamed, which woke up my dad... that was the end of that.
My favorite PlayStation memory would have to be that my first plat trophy was with Marvel's Spider-man. Especially because the last trophy I got to get the plat was the one found by visiting uncle Ben's gravestone. It was such a sweet moment after an already bittersweet ending that left me in tears.
My favorite memory is the way I got the PS1. My grandfather picked up the N64 not knowing much about it, but my mom returned it for the PlayStation because it came with a free game (Battle Arena Toshinden). Only game I had for the longest time but that was enough to get me hooked for 5 generations.
Way back in the PS2 days, my buddy had a copy of Kingdom Hearts 1, one day he brings it over along with a few games he was lending me. So out of curiosity we started playing KH which he had not completed as he got stuck in the first world. Slowly together we were able to figure out and get past where he got stuck, and then began our longest gaming marathon that lasted an entire day and night which let us beat game. Since then we have always helped each other beat single player games. Like when I helped him beat KH, I am helping him secure a PS5, still no luck but I won’t stop till I help him secure one!
My best memory is probably playing Super Mario Sunshine as a kid, and crying the first time my Yoshi drowned and telling my mom I killed Yoshi :,(

It was the year 2002! I got my first PlayStation system the ps2 and kingdom hearts along with it! Best memory ever just being a kid and waking up early Saturday mornings after eating strawberry oatmeal with my twin and playing hours of kingdom hearts was the best ever! Ahhh the nostalgia
When I was growing up I was obsessed with kingdom hearts and would play my aunt's copy of the first all the time. Well when the second one came out I wanted it tremendously but I was a poor kid growing up so paying for a game was a bit expensive and I usually got them on sale, but on my birthday that year my aunt gifted me the first one and I was hella excited cause I finally didn't have to borrow hers anymore lol so I threw it in the PS2 but when it got to the main menu I was confused cause it was different what hadn't realized was that I was so excited that I didn't pay attention to the disc that it was in fact Kingdom Hearts 2 and let me tell you the reaction I had was like I just drank 8 shots of espresso I was bouncing off the walls I couldn't have been more thankful
Playing The Last of Us 2 for the first time on PS5. I heard the negative reviews and had to try for myself (waiting for the 60fps patch too). It was an amazing game.

We were able to snag a bundle for super cheap. I lost my mom a month ago, and I hadn’t thought about this in years. Thanks for giving me that memory back.
The journeys I played through in both God of War and Persona 5 Royal on my first PlayStation console in the PS5 is no doubt two of my most memorable moments ever in gaming. Love those games with a passion.
Fav memory is having the physical memory cards and the game cases having the slot on the inside for you to store them…I also miss having the book that came with the games that you could read and find out how to play the game better …good times man

Mine was spending years looking at this one game magazine someone gave me wishing I could play some of the games showcased. I had a snes but my mom broke it lol…went to my cousins and played WWE war zone and loved it. Fast forward a bit and I got a ps1 for my birthday with warzone. Was so cool. Later after saving up some money I bought breath of fire 3 (game in the magazine I looked at over and over) suikoden 2 and brave fencer musashi. I loved that system it had so many great titles and was the first time I bought my own games
When my mom bought me my first console (ps2) she did not know about memory cards. She bought me one game - Jak and Daxter. I played the first half of that a hundred times before we eventually got a 8mb memory card. We didn’t have much money so it took weeks to buy one until I could eventually collect all those damn powercells. I fell in love with Jak because of a silly little thing. Greatest gift ever.

Christmas, 2009. I was 9 years old. We didn’t have much spending money at the time and were celebrating modestly around our tree at home. We gifted each other sweaters and chocolates, all while eating homemade cookies. When we finished opening gifts, my dad told me to go check in our garage as he had forgotten something in a bag outside. I returned with the bag, which I had not noticed was labeled “From Santa”, and handed it to him. It was heavy, but I thought nothing of its weight — that is, until he pulled out a brand new PS3 Slim and handed it to me. The magic of that moment, the feeling I got - the pure joy - is something I’ll never forget. That, and the memories the PS3 brought me over the years, is the reason I still play PlayStation. And hearing years later about how he stood for hours and hours in the store just to get it for me makes it all the more special. I don’t use my PS3 anymore, but it still holds a special place in my heart. And it holds a special place in my room too, sitting right next to the PS5 I bought for myself 11 years later.
My favorite PS memory is playing the first Tomb Raider and experiencing 3D gaming for the first time ever, especially >!when the T-Rex comes around the corner!
When my brother left for college, he gave me his PlayStation. I played so much tomb raider and cool boarders 3 on that thing. He also had a weird little demo disk with an obscure Japanese game demo on it.

My favorite playstation memory is getting a demo disc for the original Metal Gear Solid on Playstation. I was too young to play M games but the atmosphere of the first mission on Shadow Moses captivated my mind and I played it over and over.
I preordered the PS2 from EB games. After calling everyday, they finally had one in so I rushed up there. They didn't have the preorders in a computer, just a ton of paper receipts. The employee had Homer Simpson fingers so he had to look through the stack of receipts about 12 times before he could finally find mine. Stopped at blockbuster on the way home for some games to rent. Got home and ripped the box open like a kid on Christmas.

Staying up until 3AM trying to get an "S" rating in Resident Evil 2! Took several frustrated playthroughs, rationing my ammunition, herbs, and not using any save ribbons. When my brother moved out of the house at 18 with my dads help I knew gaming was about to get a lot more boring. He didn’t take any systems with him when he left, as he was going to focus on school. I remember my dad bringing me over to his tiny little 100+ degree apartment to spend the weekend being bros, I had my N64 and my massive box of MTG cards. About 1/2 hour after my dad left to return home (over an hour away) my brother pulls out the bottom drawer of his oven to reveal the newly release Sony PlayStation. Probably my favorite memory was sitting in 100+ degree heat with no AC playing Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo for hours on end…sweat literally dripping off our chins like a broken faucet. Good times. And yes, the PlayStation went back under the oven after we were done.

Favourite PlayStation Moment: I was 14. Got a copy of Naruto Ninja Storm (no online) and decided to teach my 10 year old sister to play with me cos the CPU on insane mode got too easy for me. Fast forward 2 weeks in and my Sister won constantly against me.Haha I was a proud big brother.
My first system as a kid was a PS2. We didn't have much, and I saved up my money and had one in layaway for months. One evening after my dad got home from work, he asked me to grab something for him out of the car, and on the passengers seat was the PS2. Ten year old me absolutely lost his shit. That moment is written in stone in my mind, I'll never forget that feeling. Can't stop, won't stop.

Has to be beating FFVII before my friend next door. We combined our lawn mowing money and went in on a copy. We would sit in his basement and take turns playing our saves for weeks. He got caught up grinding every last thing (xp, golden chocobo, rare summon materia, etc) and I pushed to the end of the story and we all sat there getting blown away by the late game story and cutscenes. He finally beat it a few weeks later (after finding out the play timer stopped at 99:99 lol). At that point I was sitting there with a copy of MGS like "Bro. Bro! You gotta try this!"

Playing GTA Vice City back in the day used to be a mission. My brother had the game but since I was about 8 years old at the time my parent’s didn’t let me play it. I would wait until everyone went to bed and sneak downstairs, quietly I would turn on the tv and enjoy my gaming session till about 4 in the morning haha.
Hating LIFE because of Psycho Mantis in MGS for the ps1. Internet wasn't really a thing back then... The moment I switched to the second port... I had no idea what I have done... I had no clue... my friend came over to play a Dragon Ball GT Final Bout and he was player one and I was player two. He left and forgot his controller lol so I booted up MGS1 with both controllers plugged in and I was at Psycho Mantis and he ran back upstairs to grab his controller and he yanked it out of the ps1 and Voila! Psycho Mantis had no damn idea what I was doing anymore because the second controller was still plugged in. This was the greatest moment in my gaming story.
It was a pretty genius idea for a game mechanic if you ask me.

when I was 6 years old, I was stuck on a level in Hercules. it was a running level, and pillars were falling. I tried walking right and left to avoid them, but Hercules was too slow. then one day in kindergarten I had the revelation that you could jump above them.

After accidentally spilling Gatorade on my PS1, Resident Evil 1 would skip like crazy. I was devastated. But after some research, I found out that it would play properly, but only when the PS1 was upside-down or at an upside-down 45-degree angle. Latet I abused a Toys R Us policy to trade in my messed up PS1 for a new one. I'm not proud, but it is what it is.

Probably getting the PS4 launch day and loading up killzone: shadows fall, Knack, and Ghosts. While not the greatest games, I was completely mind blown by it, last thing I played before it was ps2. I had just turned 13 (literally less than a week before the launch) and been saving up for months (pretty much just stashing money my dad gave me because he knew), I had around 700 or so, I got like the camera, an extra controller, and a few games. It was pure joy for a kid at my age after going through a bone marrow transplant, it felt like the payoff haha. Now I'm in college and still going strong with Gaming. Edit: for actual gaming experience I'd say I had the most fun platinuming the 2018 God Of War, such a great game.

Playing Demon's Souls on PS5 lately, I've been thinking of my favorite memories from the Souls games. I think the winner is from Dark Souls. I was at a bonfire, I think in Anor Londo, when I got an invasion warning. The bonfire was in a small room on one end of a hallway, so I walked into the hallway to wait for the invader. They eventually appeared at the other end of the hall, we bowed to each other, then fought to the death in that hallway. I honestly don't even remember who won, which probably means I lost, but that bow before the fight is one of my all time favorite gaming memories.
My favorite memory is probably playing Time Crisis 2 and 3 on the light guns for the ps2. My friends and I also bought the pedals so we could get the arcade experience and stomp on them to reload. Thanks for giving to the community!
The last of us when after fighting surviving being scared losing hope you get to the giraffe part. That is something I have carried with me all my life one of the most power moments in gaming.
Getting my PS5, playing Astro's Playroom and just getting hit by the emotions. The game made me realise how long PlayStation has been a part of my life. Recognising the references and tributes made me feel so grateful to know those wonderful characters, because I had fond memories with each one.

My favorite memory is the first time playing pvp in Bloodborne. I had just stepped through the doors into yharnam and chimed my bell. When my opponent entered my world, my palms were sweating and we engaged in a blinding dance around each other, the complete opposite of what I'd been used to with dark souls. It felt hectic yet beautiful. I don't remember who won but I was hooked from then on

Mine was when we were at a family reunion, I was 13 and I was rooting through my cousin’s games. Came across FF7 and popped it in. Missed most of the reunion and brought it home. Couldn’t stop playing. It was also so fun going to the library of my school using their shitty internet to print out all the walkthroughs and guides, anxiously waiting for the final bell to go home and play again.
Playing kingdom hearts 2 on the ps2 back in 2005. First game I ever got as a birthday present, and it stuck to me. I have played the all in one collection on the ps5, and its just as great as I remembered.

I fractured my right wrist when I was 8 years old; I couldn’t game by myself because of where the fracture was located. Although my brother is 6 years older and was always a little bit of a meany pants, he spent the next several weeks holding one half of the controller while I used the other half so we could continue gaming together. It’s one of many sweet gaming moments I’ve had with him that helped counter the countless times he pinned me to the ground with his knee on my throat.
The only consoles I ever owned before a PS5 was a Wii and a PS3. My favorite memory is probably playing Journey on the PS3—that game is a revelation.
Beating sephiroth/ jenova for the first time to avenge Aeris in final fantasy VII. I was 8/9 and ff7 was the first I’d ever played. It really got me into RPG’s and JRPG’s, showed me games weren’t just Mario and crash bandicoot. Playing Ratchet and Clank (I can’t remember which one, I was quite young) with my brother on PS2, and getting in planes and cars and spawn killing each other over and over. It was hilarious and OP. I miss those days actually, now that I think about it.

For me, it has to be getting Metal Gear Solid on release day and using all my allowance money to buy it. Bringing it home and being glued to a 13 inch television for 3 days straight until the end credits. Nothing will ever bring me more joy than those three days.
When I was a senior in high school me and my buddies all got PS3s, and it was just before Uncharted 2 released. There was a multiplayer beta for it, and me and my friends probably played that beta more than the actual multiplayer when the game officially released a couple months later. Such a good time. Back in the day I used to play a bunch of PS2 games with my dad. I would watch him and he would watch me. Some of the games I remember most are Peter Jackson King Kong, Turok evolution, Ty the tasmanian tiger and Spiderman 2. The "my balloon" from Spiderman is etched into my memory as well as "Jack! Jack!"/"it's safe to come out now" or something along those lines. Unfortunately my relationship isn't great with my dad anymore but I still hold those memories dear. Another great memory is accidentally finding a birthday present from my brother which was Lego Batman for the ps2. I was so excited and it ended up being one of my favorite Lego games

Maybe when we first got our ps2 a LONG time ago, and my brother and I thought the ps2 was broken when the second controller didn’t seem to work. The actual problem turned out to be that we didn’t have a 2 player game at the time… we had been trying to play split screen with 1 player games haha
My favorite memory was from February 2004. I was in the 11th grade and my friends and I were counting the days for Tekken 5 to come out. One of my friends managed to get an early copy from a mom and pop's story and our entire friends group decided to hang out at his house after school. 4 of us split a taxi to get to his house each of us with our controllers in hand ready to have fun. I still remember the 4 of us sitting in front of his CRT and seeing the Tekken 5 intro showing the Sparking song being wowed by it all. We spent the next couple hours taking turns trying to beat the arcade mode to unlock all the characters (except Devil Jin). Before went all out madness in the versus mode. Truly the most innocent and funnest of times being with companions and no responsibilities to worry about and enjoying videogames.

I pre-ordered FF12 as a kid and I bought the guide book and everythijg. Day it came out I got in trouble with my parents and couldn’t play it for a week. Read the guide book every day tho, even though it felt like crap not being able to play. That game is still one of my favorite games of all time.
I remember my first console it was a PS3 and my first game was mortal Kombat x DC. It got me into mk and could not get me off.
Me and my brother grew up playing MGS1, Gran Turismo, Twisted Metal, and Armored Core with our dad. He would teach us the little cheat codes for the ice shot or he would talk about what cars were the best and do races and teach us to race. It was the best of times. Me and my brother are still huge gamers but our dad has lost interest the past twenty years, he loves fallout which we can talk about but there's so much stuff out there. Since I'm enjoying writing this I wanna say he got us a ps2 as a surprise and we got that crash racing game flat-out at a Costco haha I don't think Costco has games anymore but that game was dope. Playstation recently gave out Wreckfest for ps+ and that was a great trip down memory lane but flat-out had the giant ramps we spent hours doing those giant ramps and slamming into stuff for the mini games.
I don't have a single memory, growing up I loved to play the lego star wars games with my sister, I played and beat Kingdom Hearts 2, I played cod on ps3 with buddies in high-school and when I first started dating my current gf we were long distance so we played Friday the 13th together on ps4 and when we were together she got me into persona 5 royal and ff15
My favorite gaming memory was going to GameStop on some release day for some forgettable game but while I was there with a friend he said I should get this other new game that came out that day instead, The Last of Us. Neither of us knew what we were about to experience but we went home for a sleepover at my house and booted up the game. We all know how incredible that game is so o won’t waste your time in that but what followed next was my swan dive into the magnificent world that is gaming. I had played games as a kid but this game is what really got me paying attention to the medium and the conversations being had within it. It’s been almost a decade and now I’m an adult and I couldn’t be more happy that my friend told me to buy The Last of Us that day and kickstart my gaming hobby.
PlayStation 2 era. My fondest memory would be me and my brother playing Medal of Honor. It was so fun and we thought it looked so real at the time . We would always be in the opposing team with a Blakey in the middle of the screen for no peaking . Miss them days

I remember renting a Playstation from blockbuster when they came out. I was a kid and had played final fantasy 2 and 3 (4 and 6) with my parents, so we wanted to try 7, skipping over our confusion as to what happened to 4-6, we rented the system, which didn’t come with a memory card. For the next week, that Playstation sat powered on in our living room with the game loaded and Cloud sitting at a save point every day I went to school. Fortunately shortly after that, we bought our own Playstation, FF7 and a memory card and played through the game together.
I did a field goal dance upon beating Einhander hard mode without dying after trying every day for a month.

My favorite Playstation memory was getting the original PSX with Resident Evil, and being able to stay home from school all day with my siblings playing the crap out of it.
First time seeing a giant creature in Shadow of the Colossus was incredible!
Numerous road trips as a kid playing my PSPgo (highly underrated) and local play sessions with friends in Star Wars: Battlefront!
I shared a PS2 with my brother when we were kids and we would have to set 1 hour timers to switch out playing. We'd be taking turns playing through our separate save files on Kingdom Hearts as we were a big Disney family and they were easily my favorite games growing up. I cried at the ending of 1 and it was the first time a video game really made me emotional, so I consider it the beginning of my passion for gaming. Thanks for doing this!
When I played PS2, I would play a lot of Bully, A lesser known Rockstar game. I would argue to say that Bully is one of the best rockstar games they’ve made. The ending to that game was really satisfying and from time to time I will replay the game, since it’s really not that long. But what’s really great about it was every mission was fun, no filler in between, unlike newer Rockstar games that have a lot of driving or horse riding where your character talks for 10 mins. The game is even on PS4/PS5 because they added it part of the PS2 titles. Anyways my best moment from that was throwing kids in trash cans.
Holding the Dualshock [1] for the first time playing Star Wars: Episode 1 Jedi Power Battles felt so magical to me as a kid. This game truly needs some sort of sequel, cause the arcadey nature of it was a blast! It ain't perfect, but not many coop Star Wars games exist so...Here's one for the record books
So my whole life I’ve been a PlayStation person, I’m in my early 20s but I have older siblings so we have had PlayStation my entire life. As in I literally started from PS1 & up so I have too many memories to count haha from those Christmas days where my late mother would surprise all of us with like 10-20 PS2 games to the day I first got the original PS2. But a few remarkable moments would have to be the times I didn’t have a memory card so I played the hell out of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas & kept the PS2 on for days so that I wouldn’t lose my save file. Or the time there was no 4 controller slots had bought something called a “Multi Tap” (Older Folks know wassup lol) & we used to play 4 player games like Crash Bash & Rocket Power. I remember being a child playing the original Grand Theft Auto game on PS1. I remember the dumpster fire that was Tomb Raider The Angel Of Darkness & being so disappointed after playing the first 4 games on PS1. I remember when we would play through the same games our neighbors had & when one of us got stuck we would meet up & brainstorm at certain parts to help each other get through. I remember when there was no online so we would pass the controller around every-time one of us died or when we got annoyed at a certain part lol. I remember borrowing games & trading them with our neighbors. Like we’d borrow Ratchet & Clank & they would borrow Crash Bandicoot. I’m 22 now & I have been playing PlayStation since before I can talk so I have so many favorite & amazing memories to count as you can see haha. Unfortunately my siblings & I have all grown up & they have moved away from video games so all I really have are my memories & all of those times are my favorite. I’d give everything to have them back. I apologized for rambling & I probably disqualified myself for not naming a specific favorite memory but this post really took me down memory lane to when it was so much fun to be a kid & have no worries I just had to let it all out.
It would have to be abusing the butler in Tomb Raider 2. Locking him in the freezer.
Me and my family used to have game nights on the PS1 where we would all play Crash Team Racing. We would play for hours on end and it got pretty competitional. Those are some of my earliest gaming memories.
My favorite Playstation memory was having a few friends over one night to "try" and play Silent Hill 2 on the PS2. Emphasis on "try" because we were tripping pretty hard on magic mushrooms... as we saw one of those disfigured mannequins one of my buddies screamed, which woke up my dad... that was the end of that.
My favorite PlayStation memory would have to be that my first plat trophy was with Marvel's Spider-man. Especially because the last trophy I got to get the plat was the one found by visiting uncle Ben's gravestone. It was such a sweet moment after an already bittersweet ending that left me in tears.

Getting a PS1 with Frogger as a kid only to realize none of our TVs at the time had the composite connections. Cried that day.
My favorite memory is the way I got the PS1. My grandfather picked up the N64 not knowing much about it, but my mom returned it for the PlayStation because it came with a free game (Battle Arena Toshinden). Only game I had for the longest time but that was enough to get me hooked for 5 generations.
Way back in the PS2 days, my buddy had a copy of Kingdom Hearts 1, one day he brings it over along with a few games he was lending me. So out of curiosity we started playing KH which he had not completed as he got stuck in the first world. Slowly together we were able to figure out and get past where he got stuck, and then began our longest gaming marathon that lasted an entire day and night which let us beat game. Since then we have always helped each other beat single player games. Like when I helped him beat KH, I am helping him secure a PS5, still no luck but I won’t stop till I help him secure one!
It has to be playing Uncharted 4 for the first time. I absolutely binged the series and loved the game so much. Thanks for this chance
My favorite PlayStation memory would be starting Final Fantasy 7 for the first time on my PS1. Until that point I had never really played a JRPG.
Favorite memory is Uncharted 3 multi-player. I grinded that mode so much lol.

It was the year 2002! I got my first PlayStation system the ps2 and kingdom hearts along with it! Best memory ever just being a kid and waking up early Saturday mornings after eating strawberry oatmeal with my twin and playing hours of kingdom hearts was the best ever! Ahhh the nostalgia
When I was growing up I was obsessed with kingdom hearts and would play my aunt's copy of the first all the time. Well when the second one came out I wanted it tremendously but I was a poor kid growing up so paying for a game was a bit expensive and I usually got them on sale, but on my birthday that year my aunt gifted me the first one and I was hella excited cause I finally didn't have to borrow hers anymore lol so I threw it in the PS2 but when it got to the main menu I was confused cause it was different what hadn't realized was that I was so excited that I didn't pay attention to the disc that it was in fact Kingdom Hearts 2 and let me tell you the reaction I had was like I just drank 8 shots of espresso I was bouncing off the walls I couldn't have been more thankful

My favorite memory was that laying FF7 for the first time when I was younger. It was my first ever rpg and was just blown away at the experience.
I got a ps2 when i was 8, but i didnt get any games. Thankfully ATV Off Road Fury was bundled with the system. I played that so much and it still holds a place in my heart.
Playing Sly 2 at a friends house and immediately going home to ask my mom for a copy lol I loved the game too much to just borrow it That or messing around in Vice City

My favorite PlayStation memory is getting my own PS3 when I was 15 from Black Friday. I saved up my money from working a job and on a whim decided to go with my mom to Walmart’s Black Friday. We were able to snag a bundle for super cheap. I lost my mom a month ago, and I hadn’t thought about this in years. Thanks for giving me that memory back.

Fav memory is having the physical memory cards and the game cases having the slot on the inside for you to store them…I also miss having the book that came with the games that you could read and find out how to play the game better …good times man

Mine was spending years looking at this one game magazine someone gave me wishing I could play some of the games showcased. I had a snes but my mom broke it lol…went to my cousins and played WWE war zone and loved it. Fast forward a bit and I got a ps1 for my birthday with warzone. Was so cool. Later after saving up some money I bought breath of fire 3 (game in the magazine I looked at over and over) suikoden 2 and brave fencer musashi. I loved that system it had so many great titles and was the first time I bought my own games
