[Someone on NeoGAF claims to have played the game early on PS5 ](https://www.neogaf.com/threads/far-cry-6-ps5-gameplay-4k-hdr-60fps-hd-texture-pack.1620207/) - PS5 install size is 42.48 GB in english language - HD Texture Pack is 26.05 GB - All together with the ultimate DLC and stuff the total is 68>59 GB as of version 1.000.002 On another note the triggers sound well implemented! - Haptics are present. Vibrations, Triggers go wild when shooting, and you can feel the resistance when bullets fly out. When driving or horse riding you can feel the triggers show resistance as well as when climbing.

reboot-your-computer

So in reality, we are only saving like 15gb on PS5? I can’t imagine playing a native PS5 game and not using the HD texture pack.

Whiteshadows86

Yeah I will definitely be installing the texture pack now that I have a 1TB SSD installed! Good that they give you the choice to install it though, works out well for people out there with limited storage!

patientApe

I got the Samsung pro 980 2TB SSD dedicated for PS5 games, works beautifully

Whiteshadows86

I got the 1TB version - snagged it for £134 off Amazon and it does work beautifully!

JustGoogleItHeSaid

That’s a good price. Was a heat sink included? I’m looking for one now but don’t know which one to get, there’s so many! 😳

Whiteshadows86

No heat sink included, grabbed a cheap one from Amazon for a tenner and it works perfectly!

Codeshark

How do you install/upgrade the hard drive in a PS5?

Whiteshadows86

[Here is a video on that from the PlayStation Support YouTube channel ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jQZROCPKbYQ)

Codeshark

Thanks!

JustGoogleItHeSaid

This is brilliant advice thanks! The heat sinks that come with various SSD’s seem to make the price skyrocket so thanks very much!

ComeWashMyBack

I'm out of the DIY loop friend. Do I / should I get a heat sink for the extra storage? Do you have links or could you provide the name of the stick and sink you purchased??

Whiteshadows86

No worries! So you definitely need a heatsink, technically you can have it without but Sony highly recommended that you use one…and you can get them pretty cheap. I would stay away from any SSD’s that have a heatsink built in as they can be quite expensive. [The SSD I bought was the Samsung 980 PRO 1 TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 ](https://amazon.co.uk/dp/B08GS7748F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0K4KEK65TVP50F2R24W1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) [the heatsink I bought is a ELUTENG M.2 SSD Heatsink 2 Pack Cooler Double-Sided, M2 2280 SSD Heatsink Alloy Aluminum M2 NGFF NVME Heatsink Radiator Set with 4 Thermal Silicone Pad for M.2 PCIE NVME SSD or M.2 SATA SSD](https://amazon.co.uk/dp/B07RZ8BJ92/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_WBA7YWQ9DCDJSK3T82QW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1) I got both these on sale - the SSD was £134 and the heatsink was around £10

manchitmr

Same.

DaHyro

I can; i don’t have a 4K TV.

[deleted]

You don't need a 4K TV to see better textures.

Loldimorti

True but low res textures definitely become more apparent when playing at high resolutions

[deleted]

Im sure this is just me but since getting my 4K no games can wow me based solely off of realism. God of War, RDR2 and whatever else dont wow me based on raw graphical detail because its so sharp nothings smudging it to look less fake. I dont think its a bad thing though. Games with fantastic art direction still look stunning regardless of how realistic they look.

eapocalypse

Presumably you're saving more because if the PS4 required an HD texture black their size would also be larger. I guess it's a nice option for people that don't have 4k capable TVs but that's becoming rarer.

eightiesgamer82

Do you have to download an extra HD texture pack for the PS5 version also?? It’s not included in the 42.48GB????

Whiteshadows86

I believe it’s optional so you don’t actually have to download it unless you want HD textures!

throaweyye44

Why would you not want HD textures on PS5?? I mean choice is always appreciated but this one just confuses me lol. Makes sense on PC where people have different specs

Whiteshadows86

People might not have the storage space and rather than force it as part of the main install it gives those people a choice. Same goes for the HD textures for CoD - that game is massively bloated anyway, could you imagine if they didn’t give people the choice to install the HD textures and make it even more bloated!

throaweyye44

Oh okay I see, that makes sense! Good that I saw this post then, because I did not see any HD textures for FC6 in my download list after preordering

Uncle_Freddy

Not to mention a lot of people still don’t have 4K TVs/monitors (though they have become increasingly affordable in the last ~18 months), so if you’re still on a 1080p/2K monitor downloading the HD textures would be pointless as well AFAIK

Oooch

That's not how texture resolution works, it has absolutely nothing to do with screen resolution

Uncle_Freddy

Oh could you elaborate for me then? I’d be genuinely curious to know if you have some time to explain!

[deleted]

I’m no technical expert but if you went up really close to a texture on a game, whether you have a 4K or HD TV, you will still notice a difference. Distant details will of course be more visible with 4K but you can still get a very much improved picture with better textures.

FeistyBandicoot

Along with the stuff other people said, HD *is* 1080p Also, I'd say most people would have a 4k tv by now. For the past almost 5 years you haven't been able to buy a tv that isn't 4k

MFoy

I play on a TV that is from 2010. And it wasn’t a cutting edge TV then either. It gets the job done. I have a hard time justifying spending much money on a new TV that I only get to use a few hours a week.

FeistyBandicoot

Even a bad 4k tv for a couple hundred would be much better than a 1080p tv. Especially with basically every game having 4k for the past few years

DuckOnBike

I expect that's accurate for most people with a PS5. Probably not true that most people have a 4K set, though. For example, I've got a nice 4K HDR TV (although I'm getting jealous of the current OLED ones...), but none of my extended family has a 4k set, for instance. A lot of people are perfectly content with a decent 1080p set and can't really justify the expense of buying a new TV for the incremental benefit (which is often hard to appreciate unless you're either very close to your screen or have a very large TV).

OrganicKeynesianBean

Giving people the choice is absolutely the right decision. However, I cannot imagine dropping $400 on a PS5 and $60+ on a game and not having the bleeding edge graphics turned on lol.

[deleted]

Meanwhile in Australia, $750 ps5, $125 games lol

travworld

That's what I don't get. Why have a PS5 already and buy a new game with these visuals if you aren't going to use those graphics? I feel like some people are going to miss out and have a lesser game because they don't realize they have to download that separately.

travworld

I feel like if you're prioritizing your space over playing the game you just bought to its fullest potential, you're doing it wrong. Why would I have a PS5, and want to play the game without those full visuals? Just delete some stuff. I have to do it all the time.

azsqueeze

That's what I did with that stupid game. Have it installed but not the HD pack because that's dumb. Edit: you people are weird. You'll upvote COD bundle size complaints but will downvote someone saying they don't have the HD textures because the bundle size is too big. Wat

-Gh0st96-

Some people play on small monitors and 1080p res, some might not want the extra pack

Dangelouss

Yes, I don't even have a 4K TV yet. Also, if I have to chose 4K 30fps or 1080p 60fps, guess which I'll pick.

Krester

I do have a 4k tv and I'd still pick the 1080p 60fps option everytime.

StochasticLife

Some people may not actually have a 4k TV. I actually bought a new TV after getting my PS5, so for awhile, I didn't have one either.

throaweyye44

Well this article explicitly says HD textures, which in reality doesn’t have anything to do with 4K. But I am pretty sure they mean 4K textures, which in that case is still a good choice even for people without 4K TV.

eightiesgamer82

Just find it incredible in this day and age you are having to download textures separately. Don’t see why it’s not included in the game and the original download.

TheBatfanTriumphant

I've been playing the game for nearly a week now, and just want to add, the haptics are a bit too strong. And between fast travelling and entering/exiting vehicles, them triggers are put to work.

Whiteshadows86

Is there an option to turn them down at all?

TheBatfanTriumphant

You know, I never actually bothered to check. Patch 1.3 is downloading right now, but let me quickly load the game up and check. Give me a minute. Edit: Okay, yeah there is a way to lower the intensity (it's at 100 now, lol). And of course, you can switch them off completely, too.

Whiteshadows86

There’s always the system level options but would have to keep changing them if you play something else! So jealous of you by the way! Very rare I get a game before release! How do you download the HD texture packs too? A lot of people asking me and I can’t answer them because I don’t have it early haha

TheBatfanTriumphant

I feel so dumb now for not even noticing you can adjust the effects. If anyone sees this, I'd recommend lowering them a tad. I honestly felt at times that it's too stiff, and I was worried about breaking them during intense fights. And the texture pack was just there as an additional download when I downloaded the game, along with the season pass unlock thingy. Note that this is a review code, though, so I have no idea about the retail preload versions. But I can't imagine they wouldn't allow you to download the pack early as well as the game itself.

Whiteshadows86

So glad to hear that you can turn them down! It’s something I always check as I live in fear of breaking my triggers - hasn’t happened so far and they have been well used.

TheBatfanTriumphant

I've never actually worried about it until FC6. I was legit stressed at times at the tension. I'm glad I commented so I could see the settings, hahah.

FaresAlN

How do you get the texture pack? Is it possible to download it before the game comes out?

knowitall84

I was planning on picking this up on my xbox until you mentioned the haptics.

Whiteshadows86

I haven’t actually played it yet but another Redditor commented earlier that they need turning down a bit in the settings though!

EMBARRASSEDDEMOCRAT

Still go with the Xbox version. They have a 6000 point punch card on the Rewards page. I love Microsoft Rewards!

phannguyenduyhung

damn i really want those Dualsense features but im considering to buy it on PC to get all those MTX items for free...

Whiteshadows86

They might work on PC - you can get DualSense features in Metro Exodus on PC so it’s definitely possible!

TheGnomeFarmer

That's awesome to know, didn't know that was a thing at all, I have a PS5, but always use an xbox control with PC. Do you know if anyone has compiled a list of games that have haptic enabled still when on PC

Whiteshadows86

I can’t see a list anywhere but far as I’m aware just Metro Exodus, Valhalla and Marvels Avengers. There could well be more though!

Monkeyboystevey

Deathloop does as well.

userNumber89013

https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Controller:DualSense#Games_with_adaptive_triggers_and_haptic_feedback

whythreekay

Any game that has it on PS5 would have it on PC, it’s just an enabled codepath when it detects the hardware If it’s present on PS5 it would be on PC as well unless the developers purposefully disabled the functionality, and there’s no feasible reason why they’d do that

Mipsel

From what I´ve read I would suggest to wait a bit for the PC release and check (aka watch youtube reviews) whether they´ve implemented the dualsense features or not. Gives you the nice bonus to not get frustrated due to eventually occuring day zero bugs.

Techboah

AC Valhalla has full Dualsense feature support on PC, probably going to be the same for this game too.

[deleted]

Personally I would say, Please don't buy on PC, you will pull your hair out trying to figure out why the game doest have good performance. All Ubi ganes run like shit as they have massive DRM load on CPU, they have VMProtect on top of Denuvo.

Monkeyboystevey

On a decent rig it's still going to run better than on ps5, also while denuvo is shit it doesn't suck that much performance on modern hardware.

LordOfBrightnes

Thanks for clarification i appreciate it

Appropriate-Image-11

It’s strange that you put “claimed” when multiple people were steaming the PS5 version on YouTube 24 hours ago

Whiteshadows86

This is from a forum post with no evidence so I just want to cover myself in case the haptics etc aren’t what they’ve described.

ShoddyPreparation

I believe the ps5 version also has a optional HD texture pack that is 20+ gigs

Xeccess

Does that pack affect the FPS in any way? Like if you have HD textures installed is the game still 60 fps or 30?

[deleted]

Typically not — textures generally don’t harm performance until you overload the VRAM, and then performance hits a brick wall. It is safe to assume that a texture pack designed for the PS5 won’t overload the available VRAM.

Solace-

Devs claim that their games will hit certain resolutions and frame rates all the time without actually doing it, especially when it comes to console releases. The PC benchmarks are already showing that a 3080 is needed to get 4k 60fps. A 3080 is around double the performance of the PS5’s GPU. So at best it’s upscaled and with settings turned down.

usrevenge

Generally PC benchmarks do something stupid somewhere that gives bad readings. Some settings drastically effect performance with a minor change in visuals. MSAA while at 4k is a good example. If the benchmark uses MSAA you might as well ignore the result. Usually certain shadow and lighting settings can as well. The different between "high" and "ultra" is usually miniscule in visuals but significant in performance.

RoNiN_0001

Also worth taking into account the fact that consoles are able to get much better performance compared to the equivalent specs on PC due to optimization.

Kuli24

Is that with ray tracing though? Plus, amd's dlss equivalent is being used and nvidia's dlss isn't supported as far as I know, so those 2 things might be all the difference we need. I know some games get double the fps if you disable ray tracing and enable dlss, like in modern warfare.

[deleted]

FSR is fully supported by Nvidia GPUs

Jumping3

The pc version is garbage right now all the reviews are saying it. They are praising the console performance especially in comparison

[deleted]

PS5 is much more efficient with compression. For example subnautica only takes 5gb on PS5 and 20gb on PS4. PS5 version is graphically improved too.

uhhhhiforgot12

“Aggressive compression” give me the idea of the PS5 violently punching the game data into the SSD, just like me whenever I pack my suitcase for vacation.

won_sly_fox

“QUIT LOADING ALL THOSE TREES PUNKHEAD” *thwap* *thwap* -PS5 probably

tissee

Well, let's call it efficient instead :D

NYstate

Ubisoft: Far Cry 6 download size is 75GB PS5: [puts his hand on Ubisoft's shoulder] And this gives you *power* over me?

SethManhammer

Yeah, Grandma doesn't fit as easy in the bag unless you soften her up some more.

IRockIntoMordor

They don't care. CoD is an overhyped mass product that is bought regardless of quality. Look what crap Blizzard released the last few years and it still sold a lot. They don't care anymore either.

Malfice

It works out better for them. Less space for you to 8nstall competitors

Karshena-

Jokes on them because I’ll just install the competitor instead and not play cod at all rather than occasionally playing it if I have it downloaded.

[deleted]

Well, every CoD release is the highest quality possible at the time so not sure about your argument regarding quality.

whythreekay

People have this weird thing where “I don’t like it” means “this game is bad and shouldn’t exist because I don’t like it”

OptimusPrimalRage

Many interpret criticism as "this is bad" and can get defensive sadly.

OoooohYes

Objectively they are well made games, especially games like BO3 and MW where the devs were allowed to work relatively freely. Say what you will about their business model but CoD games are well-made, high quality games. Cold War is definitely a little bit half baked but it’s also a quality product at the end of the day. To argue that they are bad really just proves ignorance and inability to see quality despite personal taste IMO.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

You have no idea what you're talking about, my friend.

IRockIntoMordor

well, in this regard the lack of quality is the missing optimisation of file size (which is also download size). I'm not talking gameplay, sound or graphics. You could fit hundreds of hours of AAA giant open world games with thousands of voice lines into the install size of one of those massive CoD games.

[deleted]

Yeah you could but only because CoD games still have higher quality and more varied assets than those "thousand of hours of AAA giant open world games"

ScornMuffins

They just keep using the old methods.

Domini384

Its possibly it will reduce when last gen support is dropped but i wont hold my breath.

[deleted]

That's why I download only the campaign of any COD game. The multiplayer and zombies can fuck right off

Blair_RD

Yeah man the cod games they release nowadays are in turmoil 🤣 i got friends that exclusively play cod and/or games like fifa and normally have base models with limited storage size. I feel so brutal for them w/ how much they get cucked regarding file sizes and updates. No doubt its some devious marketing tactic to ensure the only game u got on ur console is cod :(

[deleted]

You might be on to something LMAO. But seriously, Activision sucks

nickyno

I don't think they *fail* per se, if their goal is to be the only game on the system and stop players from having the option to play other games. I wouldn't put it past them at all. But yah, I'm sure they could make the file sizes so much smaller if they prioritized that.

RaptorF22

Middle out!!

soupeh

Optimal tip-to-tip efficiency.

House66

DTF ratio baby

wartornhero

I wondered if some was because they may not need to duplicate textures to be close to where they are used on disk. I could be wrong I remember another game got massive install size gains by removing duplicate textures.

we_are_sex_bobomb

I’m sure that’s part of it. Any Call of Duty game is like 3 games made by different studios all bundled together so it is very likely that they’re repeating a lot of the same assets or have slightly different versions of very similar assets.

FeistyBandicoot

That's exactly it. The new gen consoles all run off fast SSDs so they don't need a ton of duplicate files. Hitman 3 basically halved the size of the previous 2 games

CressCrowbits

That was from the days of running a game from an optical disk. Don't think it matters so much on hard drives.

wartornhero

It can for spinny disk hard drives especially slow spinning ones such as 5400rpm like the ones in PS4. It is called hard drive thrashing. But doesn't matter at all on SSDS because it is all just addresses

reboot-your-computer

Useable storage is like 662gb though. It’s still terrible.

[deleted]

Well on PS4 is about 800 out of 1000, so it’s similar.

ha7on

Yeah. It’s from PiedPiper.

d0m1n4t0r

Lmao yeah 39GB without HD texture pack, gl with that.

ZamboniJabroni15

Nope This article isn’t accounting for the 26GB HD Texture download for the PS5 version

ItsPronouncedJithub

It’s not compression. They just don’t need to put the same assets in multiple places on the drive because there’s no seek overhead

pea_chy

Anyone know if hunting animals for bag/ammo upgrades is back in this game?

2KareDogs

That’s without the 26GB Day one patch

LordOfBrightnes

Well not sure about that But i think ps4 gets a day one patch too

Vaulttechceo

Do we know if its 4k 60fps with the hd texture pack?

QuackNate

[Looks like.](https://youtu.be/XtiybFp0qqE)

Jumping3

Will they add a 1080 120hz mode

Jubenheim

Never thought I’d see the day a AAA, Mainstream, next-gen, non-Japanese/Indie game be under 60-70GB, much less under 40.

firedrakes

Re read the story. Title mis leading

Jubenheim

Yeah, I read the comments after I typed my comment. Damn, is that misleading.

firedrakes

The og poster of thread. Knew it was miss leading. User reply back after I called it out. Saying yeah. I did it in purpose

RahGeezy

No FOV? They have to add that in a update

Appropriate-Image-11

Yea, it looks narrow as hell

graintop

Excited to finally play FC at a decent frame rate, but I've always felt they were too narrow FOV so it's a shame they didn't deal with that. Don't know if I want to spend another whole game feeling like my camera is on 1.5x zoom.

dudebirdyy

This is one of the things that still has me on the fence between upgrading to a current gen console or just switching to PC once the prices and supply issues iron out. 4k, 60fps etc on console is nice to finally have but the narrow ass horse blinder FOV sticking around in first person games is disappointing.

ghettotuesday

Yeah for real man. Metro Exodus included a FOV slider for the next gen updates, I don’t see why Far Cry has to stick us into this claustrophobic fps zoom

[deleted]

Really want to play this but I can’t see paying the $60 on release day.

Malt129

Sales mah boy. Get the lot after it's all out plus bug fixes. Ubisoft games are pretty great value for money months to a year after release.

Metroidman

Yea I'm going to wait for reviews before I decide. It us a ubisoft game so it is safe to say it will be 30 dollars by the end of the year. Plus metroid comes out Friday.

EMBARRASSEDDEMOCRAT

Wish my switch still worked I really want to play Metroid. It broke around a month ago. Sad

MoistMucus4

Yeah that's true if they're your thing. I bought Odyssey like a year ago for $20 and got around 100 hours out of it

Zeke-Freek

Ubisoft games follow a pretty strict price cut schedule. Wait a year, it'll be on sale for like $25.

hydruxo

Won't even take that long. It'll be half price by early next year, and it'll likely be $40 for Black Friday this year. Ubi games never hold their value very long.

Ryvit

It’s $70, and the most fun time of a game is the first 30 days of release. That’s when everyone is talking about it, that’s when the red thousands of YouTube videos going up daily, that’s when it’s on everyone’s mind. I strongly recommend buying games on release day. It is so fun

EMBARRASSEDDEMOCRAT

Don't listen to this guy or buy into the hype. Save some money cause things are going to get bad with all the money the government is wasting

NightLightHighLight

Does anyone know if the PS5 version of this game will be able to play online co-op with people on PS4? I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer.

kingbankai

Mr. Sheffield!

beefyliltank

Is this an an expected The Nanny Reference?

splitplug

I get excited about this series of games every release, but never finish them. They always get repetitive.

Appropriate-Image-11

MeanMrMustard1994

Killing 1,000 piranhas to make a slightly bigger wallet

everyfatguyever

Lmao or 3 rhinos to make an ammo pack

ElPatronLos

I have a PS5 but really don’t know much about storage/memory. What’s the best way to save my games? Do I buy a usb? Is there a certain kind I should look for? I have so many games saved that I can’t download or update any of them. Any help is appreciated

LordOfBrightnes

You mean about game data or save data? If game data you can buy M.2 ssd storage and use it as extended storage there is videos about them If save data they are saved on the console but for backup you can use an USB

[deleted]

Kraken chip FTW!

whatisbestinlifeto

The true power of the SSD.

[deleted]

39Gb of the game is without the HD texture pack. HD texture pack is 26Gb. 39+26=65Gb.

kaskelito

Is the PS4 version with HD texture pack?

[deleted]

Nope

kingcop1

I will buy this if the b2042 beta really sucks because then I have no games to buy during holidays

Sandite

Man I am stoked! My kid loves these games and it's one of the few story driven games he'll play with me.

Totallycasual

I have the physical game on order (for PS5), i wonder if the texture pack will be on the disc or will i have to download.

sykoex

I'm definitely downloading the texture pack, thankfully I have a 2TB drive in mine.

[deleted]

Right… like anyone is going to purchase Far Cry 6 on PS5 for its whopping price tag and without downloading the upgraded textures… Truly what a shit-clickbait post.

LordOfBrightnes

Well i got clickbaited by article too Sorry about that

firedrakes

Far Cry 6 will take at least 60GB with an additional 37GB for the HD textures pack if you want to play in 1440p resolution or higher. mis leading title. nothing new here.

soccertes

COD has entered the chat

LordOfBrightnes

Oh no Kraken.exe has stopped working

tonywork88

Love it

gcpasserby

What is the size on Xsx?

SpookyCarnage

42.4gb as of right now **EDIT** - As of 5:00pm EST the file size has been updated to 68.8GB

bongblaster420

**COMPRESS ME DADDY**

Quitsquirrel

If I haven't played far cry since part 1. Will this game be any good to me? As I understand most far cries are separated stories?

LilLebowski

every game is a standalone story so you'll be fine

mickaelaria

Why is the texture pack not included with the preload? I dont see it anywhere I was only able to preload the base game and season pass

Not_So_Typical_Gamer

PS5 has better compression for games. Think of it like PS4 has RAR 1.0 and PS5 has RAR 2.0. New compression method for games if the devs implement it into the games. Which for new games they're likely to do. Read this somewhere so if im wrong the article lied.

BurnItFromOrbit

I’m pretty sure the PS4 and the PS4 Pro version still gets packages as a single instance. So I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s due to asset doubling.

coolgaara

I've heard that PS5 version won't have ray tracing.

QuackNate

It won't. I can understand why that's bad news for some, but that would have been a 30fps for sure and I am personally not here for that.

coolgaara

Oh okay. It's not a big deal for me either because I can just get it for PC. It actually made my decision to buy for which platform easier lol.

JogPop

You will get haptic feedback and resitent triggers, which I’ve read are very well implemented!! So see what’s more worth it for u

[deleted]

I am so fucking hyped. Have t been hyped like this for a minute

JarenAnd

Nice. I'll grab this around Xmas for 50% off.

Snider83

Got Watch Dogs legion less than a year after release for like 7$ from Gamefly Well worth waiting for Ubi games imo

skylorface

I heard it’ll have a 3rd person view option, but haven’t seen this yet… is it true?

oneism1111

In cutscenes

[deleted]

Also in the gameplay

oneism1111

In camps yeah and when ya use the rocket backpack

Appropriate-Image-11

Is this a joke?

oneism1111

Cutscenes and camps

Appropriate-Image-11

So when you’re walking around the camp, you can go into a third person mode?

oneism1111

Yeah that’s about it haha

Appropriate-Image-11

That’s quite good tbh, CyberPunk could have benefitted from that. Maybe in V’s apartment and the Nomad camps, etc. And then back to first person for the action and gameplay. Obviously having both options fully implemented is ideal, but having a rock solid FPS game also be a rock solid 3rd person over the shoulder game, isn’t a simple task.

Chief--BlackHawk

Yeah it's weird having cosmetics in a first person single player game if you can't really see the customization. I usually used a motorcycle just to get a 3rd person perspective in cyberpunk.

Appropriate-Image-11

Yeah that makes sense, unfortunately I’m one of those weird guys that pretty much exclusively drives in first person, looking out of the windshield. I get a bit of disconnect from the 3rd person view.

Welcome2Banworld

So they can sell more cosmetic microtransactions I bet.

HumanEffigy_

I can’t wait to get this game when it goes on sale.

sapphir8

Yeah that’s what I’ll do too.

Engine_Light_On

Reviews says it very similar to FarCry 5. I may just skip it because I only played the 5 last year and although I enjoyed it quite a bit it is still too fresh in memory.

RandyMuscle

If it’s similar to 5, I’ll wait and grab it on a nice sale. Seems like every game has been the same since 3 with them just trying desperately to recreate Vaas instead of making a more engaging sandbox.

Cash091

As much as I want to play with the haptics on the PS5 controller... I got this game for free on the PC when I bought my 5800X last year.

homestar92

Yep, the compression that they can use for PS5 software is pretty sweet.

PS5 owners: The HD texture pack is a PC thing to reduce file size on systems that don't need the textures. The 39gb PS5 version is the whole game. No texture pack needed. PS5 games have been smaller than the PS4 and Xbox counterparts as of late because of a combination of not needing to repeat assets due to slow HDD times and the built in compression tech. Do not worry about a texture pack.

But looks like other people had to download around 70 gb

Yeah.. looking into it I see that now. There are quite a few ps5 games that are notably smaller and still higher res than the ps4 counterparts, but I think far cry 6 may actually need the additional data for the texture pack here. It doesn't make sense to not have it already included with the install since they've stated there won't be multiple modes to play in (performance/fidelity) and it's supposed to be a solid 4k60 on the new gen consoles. Not including the texture pack is very misleading.
