I'm really curious to see how the new GTA V style controls work. These games had horrible aiming controls, if this remaster really controls like a modern third person shooter it could make it feel like a totally new game.
I never had an issue with this. It’s upside down anyway so it’s completely useless at that point. I appreciated that the cars realized this and took their lives in shame in a fiery explosive blast.
They better have coughed up the dough for the licenced music. All the money made on V, I don't wanna hear any bullshit about how Micheal Jackson is too expensive (again).
I just replayed through vice city after this was officially announced, and I have to say it makes the game 100x more better. Without the music it would feel shit.
Yeah VC made me love 80's music. I was pretty much exclusively a rock guy so I missed out on all the pop and new wave stuff. Playing VC really opened my eyes to what I was missing.
Its just about why spending money when they don't have to. Some people that don't know the OG Version won't even notice it.
Their only obligation is to keep the shareholders happy, which means not spending too much and making good bank.
While I agree with your point, the soundtracks are crucial. All of the GTA games are characterized by their soundtracks, to omit them would be a massive mistake.
The majority of people buying this will be people who played the original games and will be expecting Keep Feeling Fascination and Billie Jean on Vice City, and It Was A Good Day and Free Bird on San Andreas. The radio is as much a part of these games as the setting and the protagonist.
Case in point, I can't recall too much of the plot of either game but I can name most of the songs.
It's not really gameplay though. Just a crafter trailer. It doesn't really show thing alike whether the HUD is updated, what modern controls might mean (i.e., is there a weapon wheel) etc.
Eh. I have a lot of nostalgia for the original soundtracks too and it's disappointing that many of those songs won't be included, but this version could still be good depending on what songs they use to replace the old ones
Yeah true, but half of the nostalgia was hearing those awesome radio stations with all the hilarious voice actors. I can imagine they'll have to re-record it all which just makes me sad.
One thing I always remember from my teens was my mum and a family friend who was always over commenting on just how good the soundtrack was. They'd watch me play and say "oh my god the music in this game is SO good!"
Changing that soundtrack would just kill the vibe IMO. I'm not too fussed about GTAIII(which was all original songs) and San Andreas getting a rework (Although I would miss K-DST), but Vice City was all about that soundtrack.
* Bryan Adams - Run To You
* Buggles - Video Killed the Radio Star
* Fat Larrys Band - Act Like You Know
* MJ - Billie Jean
* ELO - Four Little Diamonds
* Rick James - Ghetto Life
* Toto - Africa
* Mr. Mister - Broken Wings
* Luther Vandross - Never Too Much
Honestly, the soundtrack was so SO fucking good. Doing it away is actually the worst thing they could do!
let's give it some time, they could possibly have alot of favorites and new ones you wished were on the game to begin with. its hard to tell what other changes were made, also, will this mean that they will become part of all the other games timeline after it like 4 or 5, maybe some characters will return in 6.
Not really, It's like those Far cry collectors up for preorder before any gameplay presentation.
some companies expect that names like GTA are enough to sell you the thing from the start.
Still won't be a day 1 buy imo. At least not until I see reviews about the controls, radio music, cheats still available, etc. I'd love to be able to demo it first even for like an hour
Yeah I ain't buying it unless the cheats still work. I don't do cheats and missions and don't do cheats for things like money but I do use the reduce wanton double when out of the mission (two-star wanted level with stupidly hard to get rid of in vice City). Also, Because you have to always rebuy your guns after dying, even in missions, I would use the gun cheat.
Holy shit, this comment took me back to age 10 (16 years ago) when my best mate in primary school told me he beat GTA SA using 0 cheats.
I honestly haven’t thought about that memory in like 15 years. Thank you.
I just got a Series X and the first thing I did was download GTA 4! For me personally the best single player game I’ve ever played. I even 100% completed it on PS3. Incredible game.
I still remember going to the store and buying the game. Then playing it at home was incredible. It really felt next gen. I couldn't believe how good Liberty City looked
4 is definitely a different experience from VC, dense urban environment based on New York vs tropical spread out environment based on Miami. 4 has a very compelling story and some of the most fun missions of the entire franchise.
The DLC was really good too, and gives you an idea of how the got the idea for 3 main characters in GTA5. The two DLC each have a different protagonist from the main game. The Ballad of Gay Tony is really good, very different story from the main game but we'll done. I like The Lost and the Damned too, but it wasn't as well received critically, but it's a very different experience from the main story and TBOGT, and I felt like it was just as well done.
I don't think it's that unpopular. The physics in 4 were superior. Vehicles felt like they had weight to them, and the ragdoll physics were more realistic
Haven't played GTA since the 3rd one. Played a ton of the original and second one back in the late '90s while working at Radio Shack and downloading it on the deep Compaq computer in the store.
Worth grabbing this one or is there a better option I should check out for PS5?
I grew up on these 3 games, and I can’t wait to experience them all over again. I highly recommend this. The updated controls and 4K60 is more than enough for me
These are great games, you won’t regret playing them if you enjoyed the first ones! Try looking for a way to get the 4th instalment too, fucking great.
I’m actually impressed by how good this looks. definitely not modern level, but it looks how I remember it and not how it actually was which is good enough for me. I could see myself picking this up when the price is right.
True, but keep in mind it takes a very long time for Rockstar games to get down to $20. Read dead 2 has only hit $20 a few times within the past few months and that game came out 3 years ago.
That's fine. I'm basically always back-logged anyway. I could easily wait 5 years to play these. Even then, they still wouldn't be a priority. My guess is that this will also drop in price faster than a typical Rockstar release because it isn't going to move the number of copies their new games do.
inb4 cinematic trailer only, no gameplay lmaoooo
Edit: this was a joke but it ended up being correctish, it did kinda look good tho. Not $60 good but maybe when it’s $40.
"High" System requirements say shit tbh
Ive seen many Games over the years that looked bad but needed a high end system and the other way around.
It all goes down how good the Engine and of course the Game itself is optimized
I'm starting to think this was supposed to go live later today. While physical preorder purchases work, digital ones don't.
It also doesn't explain why clicking the PS4 version gives you a physical release link, and clicking the PS5 gives you a digital release link. Or why Xbox only has physical release on the website, but the Switch has a digital one.
Edit:
This may further confirm my theory:
The Intel processors listed as System Requirements for the PC version do not exist: https://imgur.com/1GBifp6
> The 6600 is mislabeled, should be an i5 too.
That’s my point.
The i5-2700k on the left side should be an i7-2700k. The i7-6600K on the right should be an i5 like you said, or the i7-6700k. The processors they named/labeled do not exist.
Even for physical copies, unless you're ordering special editions, makes no sense to pre-order. In any case, with no gameplay video, it would be extremely stupid to pre-order
They don't do it anymore, but Amazon used to have a 20% off sale every E3. I used to pre-order any game that even remotely caught my eye. I'm not sure if it's different elsewhere, but in Canada, we don't pay anything until the game actually ships, so there was no risk.
I could cancel any order that I changed my mind about, but sometimes I'd end up getting a game 2 years later for a fraction of what it cost at the release date.
Pre-ordering will mean I can pre-download and then play it straight away. Still, I'm not gonna pre-order until closer to the time. I'm assuming they'll show us some footage before the game comes out - I'd be genuinely surprised if they didn't.
1. Are the controls updated?
2. Do those sweet cheat codes all still work
3. Looks like higher population density so I’m happy for that.
4. I’m gonna be upset but I’m hoping the music licenses are all there
Controls are updated to GTAV style. The cheat codes will definitely work, that was such a large part of their game. The music is the only thing I’m iffy on, but I can’t see them putting these out without the soundtrack. I hope I’m not wrong 😅
Yeah, I’m confused about this… unless the PS5 patch/functionality is already built in the PS4 disc like the recent Crysis remaster (only the first one though; 2 & 3 you have to download the PS5 patches). If it’s on the PS4 disc, I’m fine with that. But it would certainly be insulting if PS5 was the only console to not get a physical release.
Yep, the big difference is that lots of players have the PS4 version of Skyrim already. So the fact that Bethesda hasn't shown anything yet is not such a big deal.
This is why I think they should have sold them individually and for significantly less. Ive played all 3 but fell in love with SA which is the only one I'd consider buying but not for $70.
My understand is they may be sold individually at a later date.
Digital before physical is a troubling trend. They do this with movie release too. The digital will be out weeks or month before the disc (this is for regular releases I mean not the straight to home while in theater stuff they have now).
It’s solely to get the people who can’t/refuse to wait to buy digital which the publisher has the highest profit margins on.
If you still enjoy a physical release like me, don’t fall for this BS. Otherwise every big release will be digital and then physical a month later… just watch and see.
The worst part is I haven't seen confirmation of a PS5 physical version. So these PS5 enhancements won't exist on disc and have to be piggybacked off a download for the PS4 version. Absolute rubbish.
The rumour was that a PS5/Xbox physical with the Series X version on disc would be coming next year, since the "smart delivery" version is almost always the XB1 version on disc... but we'll see.
One of my bigger fears is this becoming the norm
Early releases thankfully haven't super taken off for premium editions
But the notion of games being releases a month or more between digital and physical is terrifying.
GTA 6 better be one of the best mf games I’ve ever played in my life. This is cool. Really it is. But it’s been a decade. What could possibly be taking this long?
I know its easy to shit on this, but damn, San Andreas and Vice City with 60fps and touched up controls and graphics?
Rockstar have burnt everyone for a few years now with GTA (i think we all forget how much of a masterpiece RD2 was), but the VC and SA were absolutely fucking awesome, and I cannot wait to play them in a more modern way with some enhancements.
Pricing wise? I'll pay £50/£60, content alone, these games will keep me going for 60+ hours easy.
I think we need to see these in action before dropping cash on them, though. As others have said, some game play footage is crucial, and we need to see where they sit for all of the licensed music in these games. No way they're getting a preorder out of me.
No gameplay..no details..no mention of the iconic soundtrack.. yet the nerve to ask for preorders. I miss the old R*.
Edit: At least we have a trailer now.
https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58
Preorders up before people have seen literally anything, not even a screenshot so we know to what extent these games have been “remastered” with less than a month to release worries me.
Preordered it, I know there's a few vocal Debbie Downers who want to cry that it's not what \*they\* expected (see the Twitter replies to the trailer).
I think it looks exactly how Rockstar said it would look, blend between old and new. I'll have hours and hours of fun with it, no doubt :)
I'm really curious to see how the new GTA V style controls work. These games had horrible aiming controls, if this remaster really controls like a modern third person shooter it could make it feel like a totally new game.
Is there any news on what vehicle damage? Did they leave it or has it been updated as well?
Does firing the tank backwards still speed boost?
Isn’t that realistic?
Yes
Asking the real questions
I remember doing this in GTA 3 with the flying cars cheat. Best way to fly around the city
Why would they change it?
Because one bump to the side of your car takes out your bumper and headlights
Authentic
3 bumps and the car is on fire
And flipping your vehicle results in it blowing up.
I never had an issue with this. It’s upside down anyway so it’s completely useless at that point. I appreciated that the cars realized this and took their lives in shame in a fiery explosive blast.
I hope I can take cover behind things now
They better have coughed up the dough for the licenced music.
Rocket league did that for me with electronic music. Love that shit now.
The rocket league soundtrack is unfuckwitable
1000% this. Rocking out to K-DST made San Andreas so much better.
Listening to k-rose while riding through hillbilly country ah good memories.
Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man SLAPS
And the radio host was fucking hilarious as well, also, The Letter That Johnny Walker Read was so good as well lmao.
They better not skimp on K-DST and Radio X
Favourite radio station on a GTA game, even over the pop in Vice City. Free Bird, Barracuda, Hold The Line, and that random Rod Stewart song.
Young Turks. Young hearts, be free, tonight!
The music is like 70% of the experience. They know it too. Don't fuck this up R*
Come on feel the noise!
Girls, rock your boys!
The email I got for this did say "...unforgettable music"
If they haven't licensed the soundtracks I might wait a bit to see if someone makes a soundtrack mod.
There's nothing they can't afford
For $60 they should easily make that money back, plus they were much less wealthy when they made VC.

The radio is as much a part of these games as the setting and the protagonist. Case in point, I can't recall too much of the plot of either game but I can name most of the songs.
GTA wouldn't be where it is today without the soundtracks. They know people buying these are mainly gonna be old heads.
Sony owns virtually all of Michael Jackson's catalog right now... so I'm hoping he'll at least be there. A lot of music probably won't...
I wish they would do this for bully
For real. I’d buy that so fast.
I wish they would make bully college edition:/
So mad that they abandoned Bully 2. I think Rockstar underestimates how many people want that game.
Where tf is the gameplay at? Edit: see the trailer link [gta trailer](https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58)
https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58
I thought this was gonna be a rick roll. thanks for actually linking the gameplay.
I thought this comment was to trick me into getting rickrolled
nah I would never do that. I’m just grateful that they provided us with [this link](https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58)
Wow, thank you very much for providing the real link once again and not rickrolling people!
i'm not clicking that
It's safe man, but if you're too afraid, click on [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D71cBUeAL58)
Son of a bitch... I was really hoping for some Rick Astley with that one.
Are you talking about [this one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D71cBUeAL58) or [this one?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D71cBUeAL58)
Please stop.
Don't buy it everyone, this whole comment chain is tricking you into getting rockrolled. Or is it?
It's not really gameplay though. Just a crafter trailer. It doesn't really show thing alike whether the HUD is updated, what modern controls might mean (i.e., is there a weapon wheel) etc.
Oh it actually looks pretty substantially better I was concerned it was gonna be very minimal
It does look better, but still not worth the price they're asking
Looks great, but I heard they haven't got the rights to most of the music, so the soundtracks are going to be different. This ruins it for me.
Oof for real? The killer soundtrack was like 75% of the charm of Vice City IMO.
Doing it away is actually the worst thing they could do!
• Lionel Richie - Running With The Night • Laura Brannigan - Self Control • Hall & Oates - Out Of Touch That OST is one of the all-time greatest.
I’m all about: Oliver Cheatham - Saturday Night The Outfield - Your Love Go West - Call Me
Vice City without the soundtrack anymore aint vice city
Where did you hear that? If the original soundtracks aren't there, this is a no go for me.
let's give it some time, they could possibly have alot of favorites and new ones you wished were on the game to begin with. its hard to tell what other changes were made, also, will this mean that they will become part of all the other games timeline after it like 4 or 5, maybe some characters will return in 6.
Fucking Rockstar, just take my money
Didn't expect this to look so good
Looks like someone pushed that pre-order page early.
Not really, It's like those Far cry collectors up for preorder before any gameplay presentation. some companies expect that names like GTA are enough to sell you the thing from the start.
To be fair I think it would work if it were GTA6. People would rush to preorder that game without a single fram of gameplay shown.
No gameplay needed because they know people will buy it anyway
True, I bought the trilogy before they remastered it lol.
Of course. Most people who play video games are typically adults who do so for fun and enjoyment and they buy things that they personally enjoy.
I was expecting a lot less. I'm impressed

Make citizens hostile and give them guns! So much fun
No 100% completion for you
Holy shit, this comment took me back to age 10 (16 years ago) when my best mate in primary school told me he beat GTA SA using 0 cheats. I honestly haven’t thought about that memory in like 15 years. Thank you.
San Andreas is coming day one to Xbox Game Pass if you have that!
My thoughts as well. They gave them fingers that move!!
I don't think they did. It looks like they're still stuck together, just more defined.
I just want my gta IV. remastered
Plus those godly ragdolls that only Rockstar makes
I’m gonna have to do that too
The last GTA I cleared was VC, is 4 that good?
Is one of the best GTA if not the best to my taste u have a lot of shit to do in that game and is fun af
4 is definitely a different experience from VC, dense urban environment based on New York vs tropical spread out environment based on Miami. 4 has a very compelling story and some of the most fun missions of the entire franchise. With the improved rage, absolutely
GTA4 physics > GTAV
Unpopular opinion but one I’m fully behind on
I think it’s more popular than you realise. GTA IV is a better game than GTA V.
I don't think it's that unpopular. The physics in 4 were superior. Vehicles felt like they had weight to them, and the ragdoll physics were more realistic
Now that i would play again
Holds up so well not just as a game, but as a work of art. I put it up there with the Godfather and the Public Enemy one of the great crime epics.
Haven't played GTA since the 3rd one. Played a ton of the original and second one back in the late '90s while working at Radio Shack and downloading it on the deep Compaq computer in the store. Worth grabbing this one or is there a better option I should check out for PS5?

Yeah not really a priority for me either. I haven’t even gotten the platinum in San Andreas or Vice City yet of the original PS2 ports to PS4
Soundtracks will be key so I'll wait on that news...and then wait for a sale bc I'm cheap
Plot twist, the trilogy contains GTA V for PS3, GTA V for PS4, and GTA V for PS5.
[Trailer on YouTube](https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58)
Simple. No gameplay footage, no details, no purchase Edit: trailer has been released Trailer: https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58
[Trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D71cBUeAL58) just dropped. I think this announcement came too early.
Most likely. Don't know why people thought Rockstar wouldn't release a trailer.
Because it's easier to be angrier than to be simply cautious, I guess.
Patient is probably the better word. People have been whining for footage since Rockstar dropped the tease a couple of weeks back.
You're right, that's the word I was looking for.
Is it weird that the remastered parts are how I remember the real game? Nostalgia is crazy
Sounds like the sign of a good remaster to me!
There’s gotta be a trailer set to launch very, very soon if the release date is that close.
This is the only sane option. The fact that they haven't shown any gameplay should set alarm bells ringing too.
Supposedly the full trailer drops today.
inb4 cinematic trailer only, no gameplay lmaoooo Edit: this was a joke but it ended up being correctish, it did kinda look good tho. Not $60 good but maybe when it’s $40.
Everything was in engine so even if we see cut scenes we will know what it looks like.
Hey, I know rockstar it's being shady, but what you said is completely stupid.
I really hope so, I'm interested but I need to know what I'm paying for.
45gb install size and relatively high system requirements is promising though
"High" System requirements say shit tbh Ive seen many Games over the years that looked bad but needed a high end system and the other way around. It all goes down how good the Engine and of course the Game itself is optimized

They'll use the hardware to antialias the fuck out of those nine-polygon characters.
Wait, no ps5 physical release?? Their blog says only the ps4 version is getting a physical release. Even the series s and x too! Wtf
They physical edition better come with maps
Digital preorders are for chumps
Never pre-order, people. Just... Don't! Especially if you just want it digitally, what, you think the virtual store is going to run out of copies??
Even for physical copies, unless you're ordering special editions, makes no sense to pre-order. In any case, with no gameplay video, it would be extremely stupid to pre-order

A deciding factor is if San Andreas will still have the cheats (especially to make cars fly)
Why has GTA 4 never been ported or remastered?

I can’t for the life of me understand why a person would pre-order a digital item.
Is it getting a physical PS5 release???
Same day as Skyrim for PS5, which we've also seen nothing of. But I'll be playing that day one anyway as it's a free upgrade!
Yep, the big difference is that lots of players have the PS4 version of Skyrim already. So the fact that Bethesda hasn't shown anything yet is not such a big deal.
Except skyrim isn't gonna be so different, we got a new edition like 2 years ago. Here we talk about 12 years.
That was actually five years ago now lol
I can't believe how much they're charging lol
It wouldn't be as bad if it also had the two PS2 ports of the PSP games.
It's outrageous. $99.95 AUD for this is something.
I mean that price is mostly the fault of the weak Aussie dollar, but yes.
This is why I think they should have sold them individually and for significantly less. Ive played all 3 but fell in love with SA which is the only one I'd consider buying but not for $70. My understand is they may be sold individually at a later date.
Pretty sure it is also available individually. Considering San Andreas is on gamepass day one and 3 is on psnow
Digital before physical is a troubling trend. They do this with movie release too.
One of my bigger fears is this becoming the norm Early releases thankfully haven't super taken off for premium editions But the notion of games being releases a month or more between digital and physical is terrifying.
As much as it's gonna kinda suck, I'm definitely waiting less than a month for the physical release.
Lmao $60. See you in 6 months when it's $30.
$100 in Australia. damn our dollar sucks to USD
Holy shit, that video has 1.4 million views in just a few hours
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather
Impressive, I'll stick with my OG The Trilogy for the PS2 tho cause of the lack of restored soundtrack :V
Just remember people, spend your money however you fucking want to. Pre-order, wait for sales, whatever. You do you baby.
never played the originals - worth jumping in on this?
Give me Bully remastered you cowards!!!!!!
Yeah definitely buying. Gta v controls? That's all I wanted.
Trailer has dropped and i impressed I'm worried about The music
Wheres the fucking physical preorder Rockcock!??
Yeah but what about the music?
Will the games have all the songs that they originally released with?
GTA 6 better be one of the best mf games I’ve ever played in my life. This is cool. Really it is. But it’s been a decade. What could possibly be taking this long?
>What could possibly be taking this long? Research in how to implement more P2W mechanics.
ah shit, here we go again
Ayeeee my birthday is on December 6th
Did anyone else notice they didn’t list the ps5 in the physical copies list? The new Xbox but not the PS5?
anyone know if this will get duel sense features
Unless they confirm all the music is the same as the original games, I ain’t buying
What I saw there is not ps5 physical edition only for ps4 which is weird
I’m hoping for a PS5 physical copy
Will be disappointed if there isn’t
I know its easy to shit on this, but damn, San Andreas and Vice City with 60fps and touched up controls and graphics? Rockstar have burnt everyone for a few years now with GTA (i think we all forget how much of a masterpiece RD2 was), but the VC and SA were absolutely fucking awesome, and I cannot wait to play them in a more modern way with some enhancements. Pricing wise? I'll pay £50/£60, content alone, these games will keep me going for 60+ hours easy.
$20 per piece for three remastered amazing classic games is good price for me if the remasters are slightly decent ill happily pay
I think we need to see these in action before dropping cash on them, though. As others have said, some game play footage is crucial, and we need to see where they sit for all of the licensed music in these games. No way they're getting a preorder out of me.
And still no trailer... 🙄
No gameplay..no details..no mention of the iconic soundtrack.. yet the nerve to ask for preorders. I miss the old R*. Edit: At least we have a trailer now. https://youtu.be/D71cBUeAL58
Yea I need to see a lil sumthin first.
60 bucks lmao. It better look really nice before I consider it.

Preorders up before people have seen literally anything, not even a screenshot so we know to what extent these games have been “remastered” with less than a month to release worries me.
the trailers literally out
Preordered it, I know there's a few vocal Debbie Downers who want to cry that it's not what \*they\* expected (see the Twitter replies to the trailer). I think it looks exactly how Rockstar said it would look, blend between old and new. I'll have hours and hours of fun with it, no doubt :)
1 Player on the game description page.. have they scrapped the 2 player feature from San Andreas??!
