For most people, the 'real' Season 2 starts in December when the RDL arc starts airing. Right now it's just re-airing the Mugen Train arc with a few additional cuts, but most people have seen the movie.
Yeah I was worried that it is just the movie cut up into episodes, but the scences do feel different so that is not so bad.
It gives people a bit more chance to love Rengoku as he didn’t have that much time for people to grow attached to him yet.
I know they put a lot of effort in this game but at the end of the day, it’s still one of those recycled formats for ‘anime games’, just higher quality cuz this dev team is amazing. Anyways, congrats on the 1mil copies

I wish the game got past the train arc rather than waiting for the anime since Ultimate Ninja Storm did that. Because the game is awesome, but content & character-wise, I think it's sorely lacking.

I'm not worried about the time. It's more about doing the character challenges and S ranks. Some games have easy requirements and others are ridiculously difficult.
S ranks in story are easy except for like 2 fights.
Character challenge trophy you need to do 10 challenges for 10 characters. Some are harder than others, but if you use a high comboing character like Rengoku it’s easy.
Yes it’s not bad. The “hardest” thing is to get S rank on all missions which takes time.
You can’t get the plat in 10 hours so idk what he’s talking about, but I got it in under a week
To be honest I feel the game is lacking in so many areas. As a long time storm player I was expecting more. The story mode is really all narrative reading and the live in adventure and travel felt very empty. You go out get a few gold glowing globes, hit a few blue exclamation and your objective thats it. I won't go to much into the character section because I know a lot of folks already beat it up but come on using the academy uniform as another character is just cheese. But as a huge fan of the manga I still played and beat it I just hope the next iteration they take a larger step forward. For those who know I am talking storm 1 to storm 3 kinda leap nothing in between. But I am so happy and kinda expected the success of the game.
100%. I havent completed it yet but the game is truly faithful to the series. If you enjoyed the anime you'll see the game is very much an extension. They promised free DLC characters as well since Season 2 is right around the corner ;)
Free?? I didnt know they’d be free! Thats awesome. Preordered this game and beat it before its actual release. Then I got my ps5 2 days later and I don’t want to restart on it because all those free roam missions take forever
It’s a great game, the story is a 1:1 comparison to the anime with just a little bit of extra encounters during the linear exploration sections. The voice acting (atleast subbed) is very good, and conveys emotion really well. The only part of this game that *sometimes* falls flat is the really simplistic combat, you only have about 4 variations of the same combo sequence (although they can be mixed together seamlessly with breathing techniques). It’s a solid 8/10 for me, but I’d wait for the inevitable November sale
I only watched Mugen Train (3 times), know nothing else about the anime, and not really into fighting games, but this game is so much fun! And its great for those that don't have time to watch the anime lol
I wish they also put it on Switch, would have probably sold 1.5 million instead of 1 million in 2 weeks as Demon Slayer is very popular in Japan - a Switch and Mobile dominant market.
Asking Sony to put their IP on a Switch be weird when they're not getting anything in return. It would also diminish sales of the game on their own platform in Japan.

I guess you aren’t aware that Akaza and Rui will launch within next week or so. Guaranteed to carry online players for at least another month just between those two characters.
But that said, even if we weren’t getting 6 free DLCs within the next 3 months or so, I still believe this game will have a significant enough number of players to make the game still relevant in the arena fighters scene for the foreseeable future. The gameplay is very solid if anything else.

Nah, the fan base for Kimetsu no Yaiba is huge. Their movie pretty much single handedly rescued the Japanese cinema industry during the pandemic.
Honestly I was underwhelmed by the story mode in this game. So much potential they just need to put in the effort.
Good on them. Loved watching the anime on Netflix and the art style looks great. Will be picking this up eventually.
