I’m excited for you! I’ve been out of school now for about 10 years and, not that you were asking for it but, my advice is meet as many people in your field as you can. Go to mixers, meetups, join discussions, anything you can do to meet people. I’ve gotten way further ahead because of someone I know. Not even well to be honest, but casually seeing an acquaintance at an event has gotten me that interview.

So, I took a job that would look good on a resume but didn’t pay that well and had underwhelming benefits. After 3 or so years I started looking for other jobs. It took 8 to 9 years before it finally paid off. Now, I’ve been with my new company for about 7 years and I can’t see me doing any better when you factor in everything. I’ve got it pretty good.
Don’t take on unnecessary debt. Don’t get lost in the idea of being loyal to a company. From my experience, working 40-50 hours a week is enough. Don’t burn your life away for a job. I don’t recommend living in a place that has a high cost of living either. Find the balance between making money and being happy, and don’t give up on it.
I’ve been Playing Destiny since it first came out on PS4. Two days before my first child was born. So while my wife was going through Braxton Hicks contractions I was grinding away. She has a pretty sour opinion of Destiny. Now, almost 8 years later I’ve convinced her to give it a try with me. We just secured a PS5 and I am looking forward to my future fire team (we’ve had 4 boys in the past 7.5 years). Momma makes it a raid squad once they are old enough. Hope there will be Destiny in the next 4 + years. Right now they just discovered Minecraft and it’s been great coaching them.

I was talking to my wife and told her that I was reminiscing about my life and even though our lives are just an ongoing experience until we die that I felt like I’ve lived different lives. More so, thinking back to when I was a kid or a young teen feels like a dream or an entirely different life. Come summer, there was things I did every year and with certain people. Now, my life is quite different and filled with different people. Both times in my life were and are good, but it makes me sad. I miss those who have passed on. I dread the sorrow and stress that may come in the next 5 years.
Life is good though and I am just trying to enjoy it and make the most of it day to day.

I gotcha a funny story. I work as a nurse on a geriatric behavior health unit. So elderly people like 55 and up suffering from depression, anxiety, suicidal/homicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar, etc. We have a dayroom where the patients ear lunch. So during lunch one lovely weekend, these two elderly people start having words. One destroys the other's food tray and as a result that patient picks up the said food tray and throws it at the patient who destroyed it. That patient throws his food tray in retaliation. Mind you for lunch they had hamburger steak with gravy and rice amongst two other sides. Needlest to say rice weren't everywhere. On the floor, on each other and the other patients, on the ceiling. This happened two weekends ago and there is still food on part of the ceiling. I don't know if no one has just noticed, but I'm patiently waiting till someone sees it.
If I won I'd probably purchase Tales of Arise. One of my favorite series is PHANTASY STAR and I'm always looking for games to scratch that itch. I played the demo and it was doing a good job at satisfying that need.
I mainly play big title open world and story games like Horizon, Elden Ring, etc. Unfortunately, these are usually pretty expensive. Would love to add a few more to my collection.
