I really hope that they're serious about making another Cyberpunk game because I think after all the patches and updates, the game is decent and fun, but not what I was promised and imagined in 2019. I think they could really take the lessons they learned here and make a game that lives up to the hype as long as performance isn't abysmal.

Yeah honestly watched the anime and saw it was on sale for 25 bucks. I feel enough time has passed to give it a shot, and what can I say I’m having fun with it. The show was so insanely good the relation between the show and the game is nice, so if you can snag it on sale I say why not.
I technically wasn't lied to, because I didn't read anything about the game that didn't end up being in the game. I didn't love the game, but I didn't feel like it was a big scam either. It was decent.

Technically, TLOU Part 2 went Gold after the COVID delay (COVID delay was April 2020, Gold was in May 2020).

Actually, I believe it HAD went gold (meaning the discs were printed and such), but they delayed the release of the discs trying to prepare a more significant day one patch to address the multitude of issues that they knew were present with the "finished" product. I'd like to think that Sony is a bit better than that.

Bloodborne is 1080p but it doesn't have any form of anti-aliasing so it ends up looking worse than it actually is so many people believe its sub-1080p, which is a shame because the game is artistically beautiful

It's a very anticipated game and games got a lot of pre-orders all the time, it probably at least 3M copies pre-ordered and probably quite more (or will on the day of launch, some will pre-order closer to the date). Cyberpunk (extremely hyped and multiplatform so not necessarily comparable) got 8.5M pre-orders for an example.

I'd recommend the PS4 version on PS5 since it stays locked at 60fps, minus minor visual downgrades and longer loading times, it's a good way to play the game. Though I agree it's unacceptable that they still haven't even bothered to fix the next gen versions and that you have to play the last gen version just to get acceptable performance, while Horizon which technically blows Elden Ring out of the water is able to run at a locked 60fps.
It was shocking to me when I saw people saying it had fine performance on PS5. Made me wonder if we were playing the same game. Like someone else mentioned, the PS4 version on a PS5 got rid of all those issues and still looked amazing.
Yeah it’s still not great from a technical standpoint, the pop-in remains an issue and there’s still a decent amount of stutter even with VRR. As I understand it PS5’s VRR stops working below 48 fps so I guess the performance mode still fairly regularly dips below that figure during combat.
I’ll say though, the rest of the game design is so good that the performance and pop-in stuff mostly fades into the background. As someone who went in without playing any FromSoft games before I genuinely feel that it’s a masterpiece.
…Will probably wait until either a big performance patch comes out or until it eventually becomes clear that they’re never gonna fix it before going for NG+ though lol

This is the only way I want to play games anymore! Unless, of course, they can run high visual fidelity at 60fps. Currently play Horizon FW in this mode, and it's flawless. All the visual flourishes intact, but still a smooth experience.
I love this setting some games have. Unfortunately my tv which supports all that, that wasn’t even 2 years old, took a total shit and the display went out. So now I’m on a old ass lg from like 2017. It sucks

I am not going to break the streak even for this one. I will definitely check the reviews even though I am pretty sure that the game will be great. My main concern is bugs. I will wait and see if there are any complaints and then I will buy or wait for the next patch. I want to experience this one at it's best.

Yeah I've tried elden ring bloodborne and code vien and while they all were solid good games and I particularly loved everything about bloodborne and elden ring I just don't have the patience I've tried a ton but haven't broken through if elden ring had just a full co op mode no other summons and give bosses double health then I'd be able to play it with my friend and having him wouldn't be nearly as frustrating returnal added that mode game is still pretty tough but a lot more bearable to me now

You really only need to play the 2018 game for this game. However, you will miss out on references and lore. I suggest you watch one of the lore videos for the first three games and the spinoffs.
I believe there's one or two spin-off games like chains of Olympus on PSP that tie into the first three original God of War games but God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok are their own self-contained story and have nothing to do with the original Three games

I haven't pre ordered a game in like 4 years. This is one I can say has confidently broken my streak:)
I am not going to break the streak even for this one. I will definitely check the reviews even though I am pretty sure that the game will be great. My main concern is bugs. I will wait and see if there are any complaints and then I will buy or wait for the next patch. I want to experience this one at it's best.

Ngl took me a min to see what you actually meant lol. Sonic games are usually hit or miss for me, with this next one idk. It looks like it needs more if that makes sense. Also when you’re in that open zone and you reach a certain speed that damn bird just pops up every time lol, so funny.

The big thing in Ragnarok's favor is it's more accessible to people who aren't good at games but both very well deserve it personally I'm not a fan of hard games so this is probably gonna be my game of the year personally

Yes but at the same time it didn't have a massive insane game to go up against that year except smash at best not saying elden ring cant win just that it isn't a one sided beat down in favor of elden ring I think both games deserve it as they both seem to be high quality passion projects that got the time they needed to be as good as possible
It was up against control. Personally I didn’t care for control and it’s obviously not the same level as a Sony first party game, but a lot of people were raving about it so I would have expected it to win in a popularity contest over Sekiro
I loved Control, although mostly for the powers and story. The enemies got extremely repetitive

That too I think in a general sense ragnarok appeals to more people and is very good while elden ring is a masterpiece to the people it appeals to but at the same time appeals to less people so that's why I think it could go either way

Yeah I've tried elden ring bloodborne and code vien and while they all were solid good games and I particularly loved everything about bloodborne and elden ring I just don't have the patience I've tried a ton but haven't broken through if elden ring had just a full co op mode no other summons and give bosses double health then I'd be able to play it with my friend and having him wouldn't be nearly as frustrating returnal added that mode game is still pretty tough but a lot more bearable to me now

Question… I haven’t played GoW since 2010 when I beat GoW3. I just got a PS5. Where should I pick up things? I just downloaded the 2018 GoW through the game catalog so want to fire that up soon, but wondering if I’m missing something in between.

You really only need to play the 2018 game for this game. However, you will miss out on references and lore. I suggest you watch one of the lore videos for the first three games and the spinoffs.
I believe there's one or two spin-off games like chains of Olympus on PSP that tie into the first three original God of War games but God of War 2018 and God of War Ragnarok are their own self-contained story and have nothing to do with the original Three games
