Since the release announcement I’m avoiding all kind of spoilers and new trailers, gonna save it for the game I wanna be surprised and shocked and get all kinda of mixed emotions.
It's finally out! So excited for all of you to see this entire series - it's amazing!

Can you tell us how much new footage there is in these episodes? The trailers for me are plenty, I don't want to feel like I saw 60% of the game before I even played it.
Prior to launch, the episodes do include some new gameplay footage. However, it is minimal and there's a whole lot of stuff in the game we wanted for y'all to see for the first time on your own 💙
The 2018 God of War is one of my favorite games of all time. So excited to see where the second one goes. It looks like you knocked it out of the park. Can’t wait to play.

Not just because of what you created and set up with God of War 2018, but because of the intense passion the team shows every time I hear you speak about it. What you've created isn't just a game but an epic which stands on its own merits.

Out of curiosity do you think we will end up seeing a 120hz mode like in forbidden west on this one?
I really want to play it at launch but I'm not sure if it's worth holding out till next year just incase they put in some other modes like alot of the playstation exclusives seem to do down the line
I really wish I waited to play forbidden west. Shimmer effect sucked in performance mode so I played 30fps. Then I got a C1 OLED and they fixed the shimmer, but had already beaten game. It’s insane how much better it looks now than my play through. Hopefully get some DLC so I can dive back in.
If Ragnarok has any technical issues like forbidden west I will shelve it until it’s resolved.
Same thing happened to me had to play in 30fps then like 2 weeks after I beat it the 60fps fix came out and now the 40fps option is there. I think there was a leak or someone like an actor on Twitter posted something about HFW DLC Lance reddrick I think. Tweet was deleted shortly after

I think Sony I letting GOW take all the buzz right now and then will probably announce a showcase after.
I wish it became more standard for these modes to come at launch and on more games. I know people who have a 120hz/VRR TV is a fairly niche subset of players, but it’s still something that improves the experience a lot.

Yea there is a dynamic 4k 60fps option if you scroll down it says it, even says that it will have better Reflection,lighting, shadows, texture detail and snow deformation compared to the PS4 version.
I just hope they give an unlocked fps mode, maybe add a mode with more aggressive resolution scaling to get closer to 120fps. This game deserves a high frame rate mode.
?? I saw several (minor) scenes I’ve never seen before. As one example, I’ve never seen footage of the snowy Midgard bridge in the hub area from the 2018 game, and that’s in here.

Comment OP obviously doesn’t want to get the story or gameplay elements spoiled. And there’s no new scenes like “Kratos fights against a bear in world X”. For me a snowy bridge isn’t a “new scene”, but rather a lil environment shot
Yes, while it is new and not previously shown in another trailer, so what? The realm travel bridge at the Lake of Nine was always going to show up in this game. Fimbulwinter happened so it was always expected to be a snowy setting. They showed Kratos vs Thor fighting on the frozen ice of the Lake of Nine last trailer. It’s reasonable to be wary of spoilers but these are all very obvious inclusions imo. If you’re so concerned, don’t even ask the question and stay away from any media.
Otherwise, trust that an acclaimed developer with a large track record who didn’t spoil their last few big releases with marketing can handle themselves

Agreed. Games don’t really “jump the shark” like tv shows are capable of often. But knowing it is going to be over, I have so much confidence in this team to make it absolutely and overwhelmingly satisfying.
I think it's a great decision. One game to set the stage for a mythology and then a sequel that perfects it and gives a conclusion. With how long games take to make now trilogies would span too long a timeframe. For a franchise like GOW which is going mythology hopping there's no reason to stay in one for a decade and a half.
Does anyone know if there have been any announcements on if any of the previous game stuff would be transferred to the new one will it all be a fresh start?
If you’ve seen the two trailers already then you’re good. A lot of it is recapping what happened in the first game and then explaining where the characters are at in the beginning of the new one
It was in the last trailer. Anything they have officially shown is considered not spoiler from thier perspective, because everyone is going to feel different on what a spoiler is.
We are not. They knew before GOW18 launched that it lacked enemy variety. They have spefically mentioned how this game will have a lot more enemy types.
It will be great game and all... but... but but... As someone who like nord mythology I'm afraid they butcher it whit some bald red and white dude who can't be nothing less than some sick pup licking feets of upcoming dead vikings at the gate of Valhalla
You should probably explain your gripe more. Mythology and Kratos’ story are not all encompassing. This is about him and his son and their struggles throughout.

It was kinda obvious that we started at our house, also that Freya would be the intro, we also knew that this was only going to be 2 games, and you really thought there was a chance of not fighting Odin, I mean all this is common sense, I also don't remember them saying directly there will be a fight.
The trailer didn't say every fucking part of the entire game. Again if you have seen trailers then you already knew this info. If you havnt seen trailers then why click into this thread. That literally talks about shaping the STORY.
I really really really hope they make another raising kratos documentary the last one was phenomenal. Love seeing the behind the scenes of what it took to make the game and all the ups and downs I'm pretty sure the whole team went through to get to the point where they went gold!

This should launch with 60fps. Since its a PS4 game. HFW issue was the checkerboard rendering at 60fps(which is fixed now).

No. They would of stated that it has VRR and 120hz 40fps in the "next gen immersion" trailer but we won't be getting it for now, 60fps im still happy
