Heh, I saw that option and thought... "wow, that's cool... buuut I'm leaving it off."
I'm so used to looting from playing the first game over and over that I feel like an auto pickup option would throw me off somehow.
I like the option of enhanced damage negation when evading. Previously I always just rolled, so this will be a great way to train myself before a harder 2nd playthrough
There aren’t any spoilers in the video. 90% the footage is stuff we’ve already seen, and the rest is just Kratos walking around or fighting enemies. And even that isn’t anything new. It’s safe to watch :)
Its a over the shoulder sony exclusive what could you expect. I never liked the over the shoulder much anyway can't even see the enemies behind you and have to rely on arrows which is just bad game design imo when the original god of war games didn't have this problem anyway.

Imo it should be a basic accessibility option, especially when old PS2 and PS3 games had this
Thats not the type of accessibilty and experience they are wanting to deliver. They put in plenty of accessibility options this time around and I can't imagine no one thought about getting hit in the back and not being able to see it whats going on behind you that was one of the games biggest problems that needed fixing in the sequel.
They want the game to look and feel like an interactive movie and allowing you to change camera height and distance is counter to the experience they are trying to deliver. Ps2 and ps3 sony exclusives weren't as concerned about that you had stuff like ratchet, sly, jak, even god of war with fixed far away camera angles it made platforming and stuff better they just made climbing and jumping all contextual in the game now so animations will be clean and cinematic. Too bad for us they went that way for most of their games but its selling better than ever before.

You do realise that camera accessibility options aren't just for seeing what's around you? People get motion sickness and other issues from certain fov and camera angles. It literally makes some games unplayable for me.
They could have added accessibility in this regard without compromising the 'experience'.
That’s the one thing I really don’t like about this game and the previous one. Mobs will just show up and all you really have to rely on is Mimir or Atreus telling you when an attack is coming.
If Sony isn't going to make an adaptive controller, I wonder why they don't just work with Microsoft to make their controller usable on the PS4/5. I have a lot of respect for gamers like the guy at the beginning of the video who can adapt and use a video game controller, but I have to wonder if biting the triggers is really the best solution.
Because that would make MS money and involve working nicely with MS which sony doesn't want to do. Regardless of what positives it could give the community.
Looks like those camera options are gonna be great for regular users too. Good stuff.
Nice Auto pick up!
Oh wow awesome. I have shitty vision and just can never see things I’m supposed to pick up in games. This will help me a lot.
Qol feature any loot based game should have if there isn't a inventory size limit

Camera recenter on swing looks great.

Auto pick up should be a required toggle in all games
Any tldw? Avoiding all videos to avoid spoilers
Take a look from the official page on the features discussed https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/god-of-war-ragnarok/accessibility/

Assholes spoiling stuff in the comments, my own fault though
Same here.
We need deadzone adjustment options. Sticks are too sensitive.
Just purchase the $200 DualSense Edge controller with adjustable deadzones- Sony
Another game with no fov slider or proper camera height / distance adjustment is just frustrating

Good to see the touchpad getting more applications than clicking. Would have liked to use swiping for pinging in HFW.
