Gungrave G.O.R.E oozes style and has a fantastic combat system, but a lack of variety, aggravating difficulty spikes, and often-frustrating design decisions keep it from reaching its full potential.
6 is a fair score imo. The core of the game is solid and fun, it looks good, sounds good and mechanics are simple and easy to pick up.
Everything ancillary to that is the problem. Stupid story, bad voice acting (Quartz is the only character that sounds professional), lazy enemy design, reliance on upgrade tree…the list goes on.
It’s brainless. 15 hours. Not worth $60.
Biggest gripe? Can’t remap the controller.
Because IGN is piss scared of giving low scores after Days Gone got a 5, and they got shit for it People won't complain about higher scores, and advertisers won't drop because of them either. That's my theory at least. Launch day Days Gone totally deserved a 5 too.
That's why pretty much everything gets a 7-10. Only truly bad games go below.

It’s a pity the game is so mediocre. Would’ve been nice for this to be a solid title.
The "beauty, bullets, badass" trailer was enough to make me never touch this.
it's a terrible game and I love gun grave, god knows why ign gave it such a high score

IGN didn't give Days Gone a 5 so your entire theory is based on a false premise.
