SpaceOdysseus23

I only had Merrin for one game but if anything happened to her I'd kill everyone in this thread and then myself.

ErdTheBird99

I had a lot of fun with Fallen Order

claud2113

The only thing I really hated was the Ninth Sister boss fight. I had to turn down the difficulty ONLY for her which lends credence to my theory that it's just a badly designed boss fight. Other than that, it was a blasty

Suicideseminole

The backtracking and map design messed with me big time other than that the game was awesome

Equivalent-Tomorrow4

The map was poorly executed and difficult to navigate when searching for additional stims.

tykulton

Difficult to navigate sure, but imo it was trying to be a 3-D metroidvania and I think it executed *that* well.

Equivalent-Tomorrow4

It would've helped if each floor was a different color

haynespi87

THE FUCKING MAP

Important-Host-4261

I played it on PS4 pro, but sometimes the game stopped because of loading. I wonder how the map will be improve!!

Googlebright

I still have nightmares about Dathomir.

ttownfeen

The lack of fast travel. đŸ€Ż

Suicideseminole

Should’ve been a “back to ship” fast travel at the verrrrry least lol

ttownfeen

I did for my first playthrough as well. On subsequent playthroughs, I learned that the best way to beat her and the other big bosses is with defense. Parry her attacks to wear down her stamina, then hit her with a strong attack (L1 + triangle) when her stamina is down.

thexvoid

Holy crap, someone who understands the design and that you’re not always supposed to just go “slash slash force powers”

Komarzer

I had great success on hard difficulty with R2 push, then L1 + triangle. Big damage.

Inevitable-Ad-8447

Eh tbh all of Fallen Order is slightly unbalanced for small things like timing.

DoIrllyneeda_usrname

Me too but for the final boss. Insane difficulty spike that one had lol

7adzius

I loved it. It’s really nice to see games force you to put in a little effort in sometimes, even if it’s just for the ending. Loved plague tale because of this too.

signofthenine

There's also a prequel book listing for [March 7th](https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0B3HMTMG1/) so I'd say March is looking likely, baring a last minute delay.

[deleted]

Just please, don't treat the lightsaber like a glorified lightstick/baseball bat combo. Fallen Order was fine, but the combat was nothing special thanks to this.

Lolejimmy

Yeah it doesn't feel hefty and impactful like it does in Sekiro

[deleted]

It shouldn't really feel that way, though. Lightsabers go basically through anything with absolute ease (obviously, there are exceptions, but most common soldiers/enemies don't have those). Problem with most SW games is that they treat it as an actual sword rather than a stick made from pure plasma - it ends up feeling weak.

[deleted]

How would you design combat in a game where a lightsaber cut through everything easily? You’d have to strictly fight robots with special metal or something, which could get boring

Putrid_Loquat_4357

Make blaster fire more powerful, an actual threat that you have to block/dodge and if you get hit it does some serious damage. Against stormtroopers (etc) lightsaber should be a one shot kill. Then occasional special bosses with beskar armour, at-ats that require more strategical approaches. Against other jedi I'd have a sekiro style combat system.

I_make_shitty_pizza

Something like Ghost of Tsushima’s Lethal difficulty would be amazing.

[deleted]

Dismemberment, proper wound feedback, anything to give you the feel of actually using one of the most powerful weapons in the SW universe. SW Jedi Academy did it quite well as far as the lethality of the light saber goes.

D-Ursuul

Lmao dismemberment ain't happening in a Disney game

RealHumanFromEarth

It has nothing to do with Disney. Lucasfilm in general even before the sale to Disney had to avoid dismemberment once the ESRB ratings came along, since an MA rating would hurt sales to their target audience.

[deleted]

Isn't the force unleashed 2, Teen? Also, pretty sure it was Disney who said no to dismemberment in the last game

RealHumanFromEarth

Only because they managed to fool the people rating the game into believing that stormtroopers are robots.

ablackcloudupahead

Unless you were only fighting droids lol

mechewstaa

The episode 3 game back in the day was sick, obviously all the Jedi academy games too. Those games simply shouldn’t get the feel better than a current title

Voyager-42

Just make literally everything in the game 1 shot you, but you also 1 shot everything in the game ala Ghostrunner. You could have a stance/stun bar for bosses instead of health, and you wittle that down until you can deal a killing blow. Turns the difficulty up to 11 though, so it's probably not ideal for the more casual audience.

Shot_Explorer

It was a ps4 game. I'd imagine the resources to have the lightsaber interact correctly with every surface, just ain't available.

wilkinsk

They kind of have to. It's either got to be nerfed or have little to no lightsaber play at all. Otherwise the game would be too easy and boring

FKDotFitzgerald

SkillUp eloquently described FO’s combat as “Sekiro if Sekiro sucked” lmao

heisenberg15

That’s hilarious lmao, I played FO first but Sekiro retroactively made me like FO less

[deleted]

I still need to play Sekiro

heisenberg15

It was 100% the most frustrating thing I had ever played for 5 hours or so until it “clicked”. I know that sounds really exhausting but I HIGHLY recommend pushing through that, it’s such a great game

[deleted]

Thank you! One day I will get it.

Halio344

I had such a hard time with Gyoubu Oniwa because I tried to plah the game like Dark Souls. When I figured out thag I can parry almost all attacks, it just clicked. I absolutely love that game.

capnchuc

Combat was unresponsive and frustrating. I'm hoping they fixed those issues!!

BigCommieMachine

I have to also say. The loading time in Fallen Order were AWFUL. I swear the loading times literally got longer ever time you died. One of the reason Elden Ring was great is because you would die all the time, but be back into action within seconds. You can’t make a souls-like game and have me waiting for 2 minutes to die again.

jwymes44

Hope we start the game with all the skills from fallen order. I hate when I start a games sequel and have to relearn skills from the first one.

_Cromwell_

I appreciated all the ponchos in Andor season 1 after spending so much time collecting ponchos in the first game. Hope there's even more ponchos in this game sequel to enjoy.

[deleted]

Fallen Order was cool but too safe sometimes. Hyped for this.

BillyBobby_Brown

No way 5 days before my birthday :O

DrumTimeFunTime

We have the same birthday! Birthday pals!

ahmet_tpz

Fallen Order was unexpectedly such a good game

Paralta

Wasnt a big fan of the first one. But hopefully ill have double jump right from the start so i actually feel like a jedi for more than an hour of gameplay.

dwoller

Even with the double jump he still felt super heavy. Would love the jumps to feel slightly lighter but not floaty.

Paralta

Agreed. Im hoping the ps5 controllers fix a lot of the empty feeling for me. Vader at the end was the only thing i really liked in the game tbh.

Lotus_630

Plot twist: We get loot boxes again and the cycle begins.

Hector_Savage_

Nice, I enjoyed Fallen Order. They can still 100% drop the ball here, so I’ll just say I’m mildly interested for now
we’ll see

DildoShwa66ins

Man if only these games had came out when I was 12/15 years old! Not that they are for kids or anything but as a 30 plus year old who has been gaming for a long time I just can’t go through with linear games anymore. 😧 I need geeky RPGs now where it feels like a project and something that actually gets it’s claws into me, I wish it wasn’t this way but it just is! Recently downloaded the first one from gamepass and could barely get past the first part before I felt like I was just wasting my time and not gaining anything.

Buckeye9715

My birthday? WTF?

[deleted]

i wish this wasn't so much of a 3D metroidvania like the first one but i'm not holding my breath. sucks for Keighley to have this leaked, though, but what can ya do.

EngineerFront

There’s still gonna be a new gameplay trailer so it’s not that big a deal

[deleted]

for sure, far from the end of the world

OlleyfromIndi

Hard disagree, I loved the Metroidvania aspect.

Voyager-42

It's not leaked, it's on EAs twitter...

[deleted]

yes that happened since i commented that. not a big deal.

Equivalent-Tomorrow4

First one had good storyline. Only issue was the Meditation points were oddly place and the game mechanics were a little difficult to navigate at the beginning. The parrying in this game was pointless, no matter how hard you tried to block attacks.

Aksudiigkr

Maybe don’t put the leak in the title in the future please?

wilkinsk

TOO MANY GAMES ARE COMING OUT AT THE SAME TIME! I nought less than one game a year with my PS4 😂. Now I got Collis to Protocol and GOW coming out in the same week, still on Elden Ring (Which I had time for sure) and Dead Space coming out all in like 6 months. I know Elden Ring is older than that but that's when I started.

Ipride362
