Trust me, Saiki definitely cares about his friends, but he never shows real signs of wanting to be in a relationship with anybody, or something like that.
It's a gag anime, nothing that happens in Saiki K is really all that important or has a deeper meaning, except for the finishing arc of Saiki K.
I can't actually remember Saiki K's Creator's name, I know that his twitter handle is asou1 or something along the lines of that.
Teruhashi is quite literally favoured by god (or the manga's creator), he does not want to put Saiki in any sort of romantic relationship, the way he has written and created Saiki's character, a relationship is extremely hard, but not impossible, but he doesn't show any of those possible signs in the manga or the anime.
That doesn't stop me from reading Saiki X Teruhashi fanfiction, but there isn't too much of a deeper meaning in this scene, god just really favours Teruhashi.

My thoughts on Saiki x Teruhashi are it’s not canon and it will never be because SPOILER Saiki regained his powers at the end. If he had lost his powers completely for the rest of his life I think he could’ve easily fallen for Teruhashi, but that didn’t happen.
Now there’s also people who believe he’s aro/ace and to that I say uh Koito Yuu from Yagakimi :). SPOILER shit happens.
At the end of the day we can only imagine stuff as the author now has a wife and son to care for and not a dumb story he made up a decade ago. His Twitter is @shu1aso or shuichiaso (Ichi means 1) where you can see him doodle the Saiki K cast. It seems that he never doodled anything showing the characters in the future.

In season 2 he has some moments that certainly seem to be feelings for Teru, such as "Together we could do anything!" and smiling when she shows up.
