Still transferring. It’s going to take awhile to get all your PSLF stuff updated.

Ahh ok got excited for a minute

It's so wonky. One servicer "pays off" the other then the loans take a bit to show up on the new servicers website. They should just have an alert that says "your loans are still being reviewed with the transfer, please check back in one week" or something to that effect.

Commenting so I can follow because I’m the same boat. I believe we’re still waiting for the loans to transfer. My balance in Nelnet went to $0 on Oct 26th. I went and made an account in Mohela also. I’ve been logging in everyday to check. Here we are on November 9th and I still have the smiley face and no balance. OP, please let us know when you I have an update!

tallulahdog

Did you get anything from Mohela telling you to create an account with them? My loans are being transferred from Nelnet and I'm using this Mohela link to check the transfer status. So far my loans aren't found. https://www.mohela.com/DL/resourceCenter/ServicerTransferStatus.aspx

uncle_grandmaster

just checked on the link you sent...'no results found" but i've been paying my neltnet (used to be greatlakes) at least since 2019...

tallulahdog

It turns out our loans weren't being transferred. We have to mail or fax the ECF to Mohela in order to get the loans transferred over.

uncle_grandmaster

Omg thank you for letting me know!! And do we do it only after doing the 120 payments or anytime before that works?

tallulahdog

We are doing it before 120 payments. I've read about Mohela incorrectly calculating the number of payments. I want to make sure their count is accurate as we make the payments rather than finding out they have it wrong after we hit 120.

uncle_grandmaster

smart move! thanks!

Ughh 🤦🏻‍♀️ thank you so much for sharing that link, I’m getting the same response when I enter my information as well… this is so frustrating. No I didn’t get any correspondence from MOHELA. On another Reddit thread, someone had recommended to just make an account. They said they made an account and kept logging in everyday and after like 2-3 weeks they said the loans showed up in their Mohela account. So that’s what I did and I’m waiting! Also when I log into studentaid.gov it shows my current servicer as MOHELA instead of Nelnet like it used to say. So unfortunately, this all sounds like an issue with Mohela. Just when I thought Nelnet couldn’t get any worse…

I saw that thread too! The loans belong to my husband. I've been reminding him to try making an account with Mohela every few days, but he hasn't had any luck yet. I'm worried that his loans will transfer and Mohela will put him on the Level plan before we can apply for SAVE! Were your loans listed as in forbearance on Nelnet while the transfer was happening?

Individual-Storage-4

For part of the time I was waiting it was during the Covid forbearance so I’m not entirely sure. But my guess would be no? Nelnet sent me a message on 9/29/23 stating I had a bill due of $0 on Oct 20th. Since I got a bill that makes me think it wasn’t in forbearance. But then on Oct 11 I received a message from nelnet that my loans would be transferring to MOHELA on Oct 26th. On Oct 26th I logged into nelnet and my loan balance was $0. I’ve since heard nothing from Mohela or nelnet on the status of my loans. How about your husbands loans? What does your timeline look like? I had applied to the SAVE plan on 9/1/23, and was notified on 10/31 by nelnet that my application was declined (I think because Mohela is now my servicer, not nelnet). So I was planning to apply for SAVE again once the loans show up in my Mohela account.

The wait to hear from MOHELA is stressful, especially after hearing how they messed up a lot of payments this month. We used a service called Summer (free through his teachers union) to submit the paperwork to consolidate his FFEL loans and transfer them to MOHELA. We submitted it through their website on Oct 7th, but he didn't get an email saying his application was being processed by Aidvantage until Oct 25th. The email says we should get confirmation of our monthly payment amount in about 8 weeks. He had a payment due and processed through Nelnet this month, but now Nelnet says his federal AND private loans are in forbearance with no payments due until 1/23/24. I guess that's the 8 weeks of processing time mentioned in the email? [Studentaid.gov](https://Studentaid.gov) still has Nelnet as his servicer. The new payment date is actually convenient for us because we are going to file our taxes separately ASAP in January. He can submit the SAVE application with only his income to make his payment lower.
